To quickly note, I received this for free from Picky and VIDIVICI for my honest review.
Tumblr media
This product contains 120 ml (4.05 oz) and has a pretty noticeable slightly perfume-y scent.
Tumblr media
The cleanser has kind of a fluffy creamy texture.
Tumblr media
After adding water, the cleanser is quite creamy and soft on the skin.
Tumblr media
Once it's rinsed clean, I really noticed a slightly squeaky clean feeling, it wasn't irritating but it really made it a little bit difficult to rinse off of the skin. Luckily it didn't leave a residue or feel dry after rinsing.
Recommended use is to apply over a wet face with gentle massaging motions. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. After using, first to note, this has a very strong fragrance, I'd describe it as floral and kind of perfumey. If this is going to be a problem, please pass on this cleanser. The ingredients however are pretty nice with a few irritants and many beneficial ingredients for any skin type. I have dry/sensitive leaning skin and I didn't have any issues. And as I mentioned above, this cleanser does have a kind of squeaky feeling when rinsing it off which I like to avoid as normally that's quite drying for me. But, my skin felt soft and smooth after using, minus any residue or film. It does a nice job in a double cleanse and removes all of the makeup left after an oil cleanser quite efficiently and when using a cotton pad and wiping it on your skin with toner, there's no makeup leftover at all. You can also get away with using very little product, it spreads well and it does bubble up very well. The texture is soft and pleasant to the touch. I'd recommend this to anyone with oily, combination, and dry skin, but if you have very sensitive skin or just don't care for fragrance, there are other options out there.
What I like: I really enjoyed how smooth my skin was after using it and the soft creamy texture of the cleanser. I like the ingredients a lot and feel like it really cleanses the skin and removes any leftover makeup or sunscreen well. It also doesn't leave a film or residue once rinsed off. What I don't like: this product has a very strong scent, there are several irritants and this has a noticeable squeaky feeling on the skin and it's harder to rinse off as a result.
Pros:
Hydrating
Non-drying
Nice ingredients
Lovely texture
Removes makeup and sunscreen well
Doesn't leave a film or residue
Cons:
Fragrance
Some irritants
Kind of difficult to rinse off
Would I buy this?
Probably not
Rating: 7.5/10

Borage Seed Oil
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scientific Names: Borago officinalis Other Common Names: Bugloss, huile de bourrache, burage, starflower, cool Tankard, and ox’s tongue Overall Safety: 😐
Therapeutic Efficacy and Considerations:
Atopic Dermatitis: 😐 Only three trials, all with major methodological limitations, have examined borage’s use for atopy. Only one found greater benefit than placebo. At this time, the evidence does not support use for this indication. Normal dose is 500-3000 mg daily.
Rheumatoid Arthritis: 😊 Two small, but high quality, trials have shown benefit greater than placebo for reduction of RA symptoms. The evidence supports use as a possible adjunct to NSAID therapy. Normal dose is 6-7 g daily.
Periodontitis: 😐 Preliminary evidence demonstrates possible efficacy for reduction of inflammation associated with periodontitis but is not sufficient to support a recommendation for use at this time. Normal dose is 3 g daily.
Note: Borage seed oil contains unsaturated pyrrolizidine alkaloids (UPA), a toxic substance that is lethal at high doses. Standardized extracts are processed to remove UPA. Only products from reputable manufacturers that are certified to be UPA-free should be used. Patients should be made aware of UPA toxicity (see Adverse Effects) and warned to immediately stop use and seek medical attention if they occur.
Chemistry/Pharmacology: Borage seed oil contains 18-26% gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which aids in the synthesis of prostaglandin E1 and is believed to the primary active component. Some research suggests that a GLA metabolite, dihomogammalinolenic acid, acts directly on lymphocytes and T-cells to modulate immune response. Although borage seed oil has the highest natural concentration of GLA, it does not appear to be as effective as other GLA sources (black currant seed oil and evening primrose oil), possibly because of a constituent which promotes thromboxane synthesis and counteracts the effects of GLA. Gamma linolenic acid is not stable alone in the environment.
Drug Interactions: Do not use during anesthesia and concurrently with PHENOTHIAZINES (due to possible increased risk of seizures). May cause variable effects on antiplatelet medications.
Contraindications/Precautions: Use with caution in bleeding disorders, liver disease, and in pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Effects: May cause gastrointestinal distress, belching, and increased bleeding time. Possible serious adverse effects due to unsaturated pyrrolizidine alkaloids (UPAs) include hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, and carcinogenicity. Symptoms of UPA toxicity may include jaundice, dark urine, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, and bleeding irregularities.

Plant of the Day
Friday 31 July 2020
In a local field the Borago officinalis (borage, starflower) is flowering and 52 honey bee hives have arrived to help pollination and to create some light and delicate borage honey. The field was buzzing with both honey and bumble bees visiting the flowers which can replenish their nectaries every twenty minutes, which is extremely rapid compared to most other species. This annual herb was introduced to Britain by the Romans, and is native to the Mediterranean region. It is grown as an agricultural crop for the seed oil.

Review of THANK YOU FARMER’s POLLU FREE Pore Deep Cleansing Oil
THANK YOU FARMER is a Korean brand that creates skincare and cosmetics with the heart of a farmer. Key ingredients include 10,000ppm of perilla frutescens leaf extract (moisturizing, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy, anti-aging), jojoba seed oil (moisturizing, soothing, anti-aging), mugwort oil (soothing, minimizes pores, strengthens skin barrier, anti-inflammatory), borage seed oil (strengthens the skin barrier, anti-inflammatory, calming, nourishing), soybean oil (vitamin E rich, nourishing, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory) and sunflower seed oil (anti-inflammatory, diminishes redness, moisturizing, vitamin-rich, skin regenerating). This product retails for between $30-35 USD, you can get it here for $32.70 + shipping (free on Prime).
Ingredients

To quickly note, I received this free from 0.8 Liter for my honest review, this post is not sponsored.
Tumblr media
The product contains 200 ml (6.76 oz) and has a clean slightly herbal scent.
Tumblr media
I love any products with a pump.
Tumblr media
The oil isn't too thick or watery.
Tumblr media
It spreads out pretty well and using it to remove makeup is very easy.
Tumblr media
Add a bit of water and it emulsifies.
Tumblr media
It rinses off nicely and leaves no oily residue and isn't drying at all.
Recommended use is to apply an appropriate amount, about 3-4 pumps, with dry hands and massage onto dry face using gentle circular motions. Add some to help it become a milky color. Keep doing these steps until all the makeup is gone. Rinse off with warm water or follow up with double cleansing if needed. After using, I found this to be a very effective cleanser. It removes eyeshadow and liquid lipsticks really easily and it's gentle on the eyes in case you get in your eye. Using a product like this is quite nice due to all the mask-wearing required so it easily removes dirt and dust from the skin and clears away pimples or blackheads that form under the mask. It's a very gentle cleanser I think it should be suitable if you have sensitive skin. I'd recommend it to any kind of skin type as it's not drying and isn't greasy feeling.
What I like: this product is simple yet effective at removing most if not all the makeup. It wasn't irritating and very gentle on the skin and around the eye area. The packaging is nice and pumps are the best. This cleanser manages to deeply cleanse and do it without being greasy or drying out the skin. The ingredients are very nice and extremely nourishing. What I don't like: nothing I really enjoyed this product.
Pros:
Cleanses well
Removes makeup easily
Nice ingredients
Has a pump
Not drying or greasy
Suitable for sensitive skin
Great to have when wearing masks all the time
Cons:
None
Would I buy this?
Yes
Rating: 10/10

Borage is a wonderful plant to have around the garden. Borage (Borago officinalis), also known as starflower, bee bush, bee bread, and bugloss, is a medicinal herb with edible leaves and flowers. I plant them mostly for the bees but with a taste comparable to that of cucumber, borage has various culinary applications. The leaves can of course be used as a salad green and the flowers as edible decorations, but to stop there would be an insult to the wide variety of uses for borage. This herb can be used in soups, salads, borage-lemonade, strawberry-borage cocktails, preserves, borage jelly, various sauces, cooked as a stand-alone vegetable, or used in desserts in the form of fresh or candied flowers, to name a few. This herb is also the highest known plant source of gamma-linolenic acid (an Omega 6 fatty acid, also known as GLA) and the seed oil is often marketed as a GLA supplement. It is also a source of B vitamins, beta-carotene, fiber, choline, and, again, trace minerals. In alternative medicine it is used for stimulating breast milk production and as an adrenal gland tonic therefor can be used to relieve stress. In the garden, the uses of borage include repelling pests such as hornworms, attracting pollinators, and aiding any plants it is interplanted with by increasing resistance to pests and disease. It is also helpful to, and compatible with, most plants — notably tomatoes, strawberries and squash. Borage adds trace minerals to the soil it is planted in, and is good for composting and mulching. It is an annual, but readily self-seeds and thrives in full sun. ・・・ #growninhaiti #borage #agroforestty #foodforest #edible #medicinal #companionplant #haiti #ayiti #organic #nogmos #nopesticides #noherbicides #starflower #flowerpower #snacktime https://www.instagram.com/p/BuyR5h9j6jp/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1xw79e3wdwh8a
