Lowran Burn Waterfalls by .Brian Kerr Photography. Lowran Burn Waterfalls, Loch Ken near Castle Douglas. Its getting to feel like autumn now, the leaves are falling, the colours are changing, the burns and rivers are filling up..a good day to take a drive along Loch Ken and look for spots for future shots. I have been to these falls before but not with as much water flowing. I hope you like:) https://flic.kr/p/goDTES

Good Morning from Scotland
St Mary's Loch - Morning Begins by .Brian Kerr Photography.

St Mary's Loch - Morning Begins Saturday morning and another trip to St Mary's Loch, a few miles north of Moffat, hoping the weather forecast was correct. A cold and sunny day with a good helping of mist was the forecast and approaching the Loch, it seemed they were right on this occasion. A cloud inversion over the loch was forming just as the reflected sunrise was starting. I chose the frozen jetty as it always gives a good view down the loch, and went for an angled view to include the wee boat and the line of trees where the loch narrows in front of the approaching mist. As you can imagine the mist eventually enveloped the situation leading to a good view images made from the morning out. Alone In The Mist by .Brian Kerr Photography. Alone In The Mist I spent a bit of time photographing this tree from different angles and distances as the mist moved around, but quite liked this one with the mist covering the background but still giving the tree emphasis in the image. This was on the way back from Haweswater near the village of Bampton. Glorious swirling mist, making for some beautiful views over the Valley. MapleHaus, Utah
KLIMA Architecture designed and built MapleHaus. The home is based around a rigid 12’x12′ grid. Maximizing livable space, and limiting wasted space was the brief, while also adhering to rigorous Passive House building methods.
12″ thick double stud walls, triple pane windows, and a minimal material palette have all been specified. The house features 4 beds, 3 baths all at 2500 sf on a .75 acre lot.
The exterior is clad in corten steel that will patina and age over time, but also will add a high fire rating as the location is set in a high desert mountain environment, and as global warming changes our moisture levels, the threat of fire is more predominant than ever.
This house is an homage to the architect’s 2 year old, striving and aiming for a highly energy efficient house that will utilize ~30% of what a comparable house would utilize during its lifetime. It is also named after her.
