This Gold flecked filter has the strongest effect on the image of any of the Soft filters. It smooths skin, halates the images, and adds a subtle warm tone giving a vintage feel. The broken KASE filter. Stay away if you use Sony. So recently I bought a Venus Optics Loawa 15 mm Shift Lens and a few days agao I took it out to see what I could do with it. I wanted also to do long exposures so fitted my Sony A7r4 with a Kase 10 stop filter that fits inside the body of the camera rather than in front of the lens. This particular lens has a very bulbous front element making the use of my Formatt-Hitech filters unusable. I took a few shots and was getting used to the setup when the lens jammed and refused to shift. Thinking something was wrong with the lens I removed it from the camera and discovered the filter lying on its side on top of the camera sensor. Part ogf the glass was missing and although I could hear it rattleing around down in the lens it wouldn't shake out. I got it out later at home with a flashlight and tweezers. The filter had slipped out of its position and fallen down into the barrel of the lens then broken when I tried to shift the lens. I notice a few reviews of this filter system on B&H complaining about the loose fit so highly recommend that you avoid them. Meanwhile I did make some images that day and, as a break from my pics of Northern Spain, here they are. Something a bit different from me.
