So, hey Marvel fans! Looks like the Corporate Espionage Party, from various parts of one trafficking network, are behind the non-stop Captain Marvel trending. The markers are everywhere. Forget the fact that Disney no longer even advertises on Twitter. These Corporate trolls are kicking up the same stale dust that they always do. You can tell these are haters.
You never hear one word about Doctor Strange, the Current Face of the MCU.
These trolls continually ignore the content of the Comic books, which already give a listing of the New Avengers.
They're boosting...SIGH...Wanda, along with Carol. Now, who could afford to buy a damn plane, and splash her character name all over it, at that one comic convention? A competitor. Disney would never.
Mixing in the DC superheroes with Marvel is a tell that it's DC trolls involved. Guarantee 100% that the very same group who ruined the theatrical release of Captain Marvel 2, are showing huge fucking nerve in pretending they're in love with the character, now. It's so well-planned. Such a well-oiled...well oily machine. Like, where did all of the hate suddenly go? How convenient.
You know, I still like this character and if she shows up in a future MCU film, I'll be fine with it, just as long as they're not screwing with the public by slipping Queer into her storyline, again. But I will increasingly NOT be fine with it, if trolls start using her like a virtual blow up doll, the same as lame Wanda. That's the exact feeling I'm getting from this. Same tactic during Doctor Strange 2. Trolls completely tried to screw up that film, while simultaneously praising Wanda, endlessly. If they make me sick of Captain Marvel and I find out that Brie is dirty, then she can go cool her heels with Elizabeth Olsen.
Oh, and I have a feeling that Fury won't be around much, in the future. Word on the street is he got eaten by a Fleurkin. Hope he at least enjoyed it.

wylie fyfe (florence pugh) is looking for their older sister !!
Name of the Connection: Madigan, but the name can be changed and is UTP!
Preferred Faceclaim: UTP, but some suggestions are Brie Larsen, Carlson Young, Jenny Boyd, Evan Rachel Wood, or Willa Fitzgerald. However, any female fc that can pass for 28+ will work perfectly!
Description: Wylie and her sister have never had a good relationship. Always living in the elder’s shadows, she always noticed that her older sister was the favorite, which isn’t something anyone ever wants to realize. She was often forced to do the same activities as her older sister, and whenever Madigan quit the activity, Wylie also had to until she found ballet. From Wylie’s perspective, her sister was often causing trouble in order to get attention and be under everyone’s watchful eye. Needless to say, the two have never particularly gotten along, and Madigan is the reason Wylie chose to move away to pursue her dance career. Though they were never close to begin with, they grew further and further apart as they got older, and eventually Wylie lost contact with her sister all together. Why Madigan is in Roswell is completely UTP and can be discussed and plotted out, as I’m open to anything! Everything personality-wise is also UTP, as I don’t want anyone to feel like their muse is in a box. In my mind, Wylie’s perception of her sister is completely different than how her sister actually is, so I’d love to be able to do a lot of plotting with whomever takes interest in the connection!
Player Contacted before application?: Yes. Please contact me @astrafms or @wyliefms

Not romantic chemistry, but overall onscreen chemistry...
I think in Marvel Chris basically had chemistry with everyone.
Actually, I think if he was still in the franchise they might actually be doing better. A while back on twitter fans were reminiscing how the old Marvel OGs vibed and hit way better than the new generation. People were saying Chris had fun with virtually everyone he was paired up with during those Avengers press tours and there was always laughter and hilarity in those interviews he participated in. His personality was just inviting and charismatic and I really think it rubbed off on a lot of people. Not everyone, but the majority. And I think now that he's no longer there, there is a hole.
He and RDJ really had chemistry. Hemsworth. Scarlett. Renner. Elizabeth Olsen. Chadwick.
Danai and him didn't have too many scenes on camera but IRL they vibed very well.
While not everyone appeared to get along with Brie Larsen when she first showed up, her and Chris vibe well.
Him and Don Cheadle have great hilarious snarky banter.
Even him and Frank Grillo - everyone has to hate on the whole Hydra thing but they actually had chemistry. It was weird but interesting. Makes that whole dynamic also intriguing and terrible.
Anthony Mackie and Chris have excellent chemistry. IMHO, Steve and Sam's friendship was one of my favorites - they immediately lit up the screen upon first meeting. I wish they explored that friendship more when they could have.
Outside of Marvel, I think Chris has great chemistry with Octavia Spencer. I also thought he did better with Betty Gabriel in Defending Jacob than Michelle Dockery. Maybe because Betty's character wasn't his wife and he just does better when he's teaming up with someone or portraying a friendship or even a nemesis.
Bryce Dallas Howard and him did pretty well. I think she's a really good actress too and that pairing of their characters actually worked for me.
Overall, I thought Chris and everyone else in Knives Out had great chemistry. Not a single miss IMHO. I also think that was one of the best casts of modern times. I'm a bit confused, annoyed, and irritated as to why they didn't get a Best Ensemble Cast nomination.
I agree with all this. No one has to ever complained about him on set. Everyone seems to get along with him well. He just can’t fake being in love 🤷🏻‍♀️ being a love interest is his weakness.

The Blue Hour
a Max Phillips & Bloodsucking Bastards FanFic
Don't get your Easter Eggs in a scramble, we'll sort you out right here!
Return to Chapter 2
Return to Masterlist!
Chapter 2 - I guess you could say things are getting a little serious.
Tumblr media
"Scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling - the Cullins family, old Mr. Feeney, little Old Mrs. White whose husband just passed away last year, the Partridge family with all of their little kids." Right off the bat! I've "homage'd" names from fictional television and movie families:
The Cullin vampire family of Twilight, in a story about a vampire it just makes sense. Mr. Feeney, the curmudgeonly, but beloved teacher from Boy Meets World. Mrs. White, as in Betty White - and in my mind, specifically her character from the classic horror (comedy? funny to me!) Lake Placid. The Partridge Family from The Partridge Family, the other musical family from the 1970's who hung out in a Piet Mondrian (Dutch Painter who did all of the lines and squares with primary colors that everybody loved then and loves now, why not?) homage'd bus.
Tumblr media
"I buried my head under the covers and practiced mindful breathing, 8 seconds in, hold for 8, breathe out for 8."
This is a method of breathing known as box breathing - it's super helpful for anyone experiencing stress, panic attacks, and some forms of PTSD. “When we’re anxious, we breathe shallowly and quickly, which actually creates more anxiety within your body,” Dr. Young explains. “We can use breathwork to move out of the fight-or-flight state and into that parasympathetic nervous system.”
This article from the Cleveland Clinic provides a little more information for anyone interested in utilizing the practice as a coping mechanism or meditation technique (as always, this is something to be used in conjunction with a trusted medical professional).
"Wearing my favorite classic baby tee with a pic of Jake Ryan from 16 Candles on it that says, “I ❤️ Jake Ryan” --
This is one of those classic 80's teen rom-coms. But it definitely hasn't aged well, so I'm not going to include a trailer for it, because IYKYK, and if you don't - all you really need to know is that this is Jake Ryan:
Tumblr media
Aw, fine. I'll do the ending scene. All you need to know is that Samantha (Molly Ringwald) spent her whole 16th birthday getting ignored by her family and friends, the people she wanted attention from - but got tons of unwanted and frankly traumatizing attention from other people.
Until Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling), the guy she's had a huge crush on, shows up at her sister's wedding, and focuses all of his attention on her, giving her the 16th birthday of her dreams. Is the dialogue great? No. But the imagery is the stuff that imprints on your brain forever at an impressionable young age. And that's what counts? And that's what counts!
youtube
"It was a short walk to the dingy theater, where the midnight showing was of a movie called, The Room, which I’d thought was a movie starring Brie Larsen, but Max assured me - was not" -- This is a cult classic, terrible and hilarious, and incredibly quotable. Tommy Wiseau is an enigma wrapped in a cloak of secrecy - and this article by Vox does an amazing job of breaking down the 5 W's and how this became what it is today:
"Giving him a determined look, I declared, “Bring it on.” Giving me back an equal amount of sass, Max proclaimed, “Oh, it’s already been broughten.” --
C'mon Gabrielle Union circa 2000 - Icon!
Tumblr media
She's so fantastic and this was one of the first "teen" movies that addressed white girls culturally appropriating - but also getting called out on it. (*Cough* Save the Last Dance *Cough*) Gabrielle spoke up about her experience on this movie, and what she wishes she would've done differently, and it is fantastic (watch the video included in the article - please!):
“All around this area are different satellite locations of the Museum of Bad Art, and one of them is located here. It’s really terrible art that they’ve collected from local art shows, from Good Will, the Salvation Army, estate sales, just from anywhere they can find it, and it’s stunning in its horrificness.”
True story - this exists, it's magnificient, check it out!
"Max paused, thinking for a moment, “Say Anything - I thought I could be Lloyd Dobler,” --
Say Anything does have its own problems, just like all the other 80s movies, but there's definitely one iconic scene that everyone knows and loves...
youtube
“I could make you forget that you ever fell and hurt yourself but, I’m not going to risk the brain scramblies. I want you to know the truth.” --
How could I write a story about a vampire and not have some tie-in lore with What We Do in the Shadows?
youtube
“Anyway… this extremely crusty looking, yet very stately, oddly attractive fella - sounded like he was from an older European country, and super weird, he was wearing a New Jersey Devil’s hat. Well, he interrupted our drinks with clients and turned me, out of nowhere." --
Oh my god. Did The Baron turn Max?? (Maybe it's not canon, but do you mind, really? I promise I'll make it worth it.)
youtube
“Oh!” I exclaimed, “How very Eyes Wide Shut of you!"
Final film of Stanley Kubrick, which at the time got kinda luke warm reviews.
youtube
However, I came across this interpretation of the movie recently by Lila Shapiro for New York Magazine / Vulture, and it's a bit chilling to read of Kubrick's awareness. So - where will this relationship go? Is Max just another Dr. Bill Harford? Or is he more? Will OC succumb to the fate of Nicole Kidman's character? Or will we eschew established trends?
“Um, hello? I’d like to lodge a complaint - I’ve been having sex with humans when I could’ve been having sex with vampires this entire time. Super Massive Blackhole Fuck Up.” -- Not the first Twilight reference I've made, won't be the last, but let's go ahead and roll that spicy footage. Feel free to laugh as much as you want.
youtube
"And I’m really glad that we won’t be having a weird vampire-human baby hybrid à la Twilight.” --
Fucking Renesmé, c'mon. There is so much wrong with that whole storyline, and why did they have to CGI a BABY? Shield your eyes, I cruelly added a gif.
Tumblr media
“Yes, and it always makes me think of that line from the movie Dodgeball, ‘Nobody makes me bleed my own blood - nobody!’ You know what I’m talking about - Ben Stiller says it?” --
Tumblr media
If you or someone you know suspects that they have endometriosis or adenomyosis, check back here soon. I'll be doing a separate post including additional information and support. In the meantime, enjoy this scene from Dodgeball:
youtube
"Then I grinned and said in a British accent, “I’m getting betteh!” -- If they don't teach this in school, perhaps they should, eh?
youtube
“Ohmygod, soooo nice.” I batted my eyelashes at him, while talking like a Valley Girl from the OG Buffy the Vampire Slayer." -- Okay, so we know that Pedro was in the Sarah Michelle Gellar version of Buffy, but before that there was the Kristy Swanson version, and Buffy was a teensy bit different. CW: Buffy gets told that she's not like other girls. Content Bonus: Buffy says, "Yes, I am." IN THE 90s.
youtube
“Manners maketh man, so they say.” -- Crossover event! This is something Whiskey says in Kingsman. Do you take your Whiskey neat or on the rocks?
Tumblr media
“Sweetness, I don’t have a kink for Stepford Wives..." -- Yeah, HOT PASS on Stepford Wife-ing, and if you're unfamiliar with the plot, it's basically a 1972 feminist horror story by author Ira Levin, who also wrote Rosemary's Baby and Sliver. This article by Meredith Craig de Pietro of Bustle regarding the feminism inherent in Levin's books, just as relevant today as when they were written, does discuss some of the more serious political issues surrounding bodily autonomy - but it is a short and interesting read:
Hey, how about a trailer of the 2004 version of Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler, Glenn Close, Faith Hill, Christopher Walken, and Matthew Broderick?
youtube
But wait - there's more!
Due to Tumblr limitations, this batch of Easter Eggs has a little sidecar of 2 additional Easter Eggs waiting for you in, you guessed it - Easter Eggs v. 2.2: We're Beta Than This. Return to the Masterlist Here or, while you're waiting for Chapter 3, be sure to check out my one other fanfic about Javi G. from The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Paddington 3: Lost in Mallorca.
Return to Chapter 2
Continue to Chapter 3

The Marvels (2023)
Tumblr media
First off, the best CBM (comic book movie) in 2023 remains Across The Spiderverse (my favourite live action CBM remains GotG3).
But The Marvels is a really fun, action packed film that had us laughing throughout. Really enjoyed the fight sequence choreography in particular. This film also looks good (except 1 "Superman" flying scene at the start).
Tumblr media
For the first time since Shang Chi & No Way Home in 2020, there were great cameos that actually helped make it feel like part of the greater connected universe something that's been sorely lacking in the MCU since 2020. Yes Dr Strange had cameos, but most of those were nothing more.
However, there's a scene about 60% into this rather short, quick paced film that feels superfluous & wholly unnecessary: a singing, colourful "Disney" esque planet, which pulled me out of the film completely.
Tumblr media
And I can understand the desire to tap into the K Drama, K Pop world's recent surge in popularity, but Park Seo Joon (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Itaewon Class) can't speak English, and it shows.
Ok Taecyeon (Vincenzo, Bring it on Ghost), Ahn Hyo-seop (Abyss, Business Proposal, A Time Called You) are both fluent in English. Heck, Song Joong Ki's English would have sufficed.
Finally, it's absolutely baffling that a problem Captain Marvel solves at the end, the quick solution somehow escaped her realization for 30 years??
Despite these complaints, this is a really fun, face paced, but flawed film. Brie Larsen isn't given enough to do, Teyonah Paris *is* Monica, but Iman Vellani steals the show.
8.3/10, B+

Note
The thing actually is Brie actually does have “big boobs” the incels only hate her because she advocated for more diversity and they took offence to her saying a film was not for “them”
They are pathetic
Actually, that comment was about A Wrinkle in Time - that came out even before Infinity War did. But that soured her for the incels from that point on. Especially when it was brought up again during CM promo the following year.
“Am I saying I hate white dudes?” Larson asked. “No, I’m not, [but if] you make the movie that is a love letter to women of color, there is an insanely low chance [that] a woman of color will have a chance to see your movie and review your movie.”
“[Audiences] are not allowed enough chances to read public discourse on these films by the people that the films were made for,” Larsen went on. “I do not need a 70-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work for him about "A Wrinkle in Time." It wasn’t made for him.
I want to know what it meant to women of color, to biracial women, to teen women of color, to teens that are biracial.”

Fix Underground is not joking. Playing a Gay role, a crossdressing role, and pulling things like Blackface are Rights of Passage in Hollywood. You're almost guaranteed a lucrative career, unless you try and fight being represented by certain people.
That's what happened to Benedict. He rejected the Church of Scientology, and their network of associates went after him. This is why I tell people that actors do not always have control over the projects they do. It's changed. Public relations agencies will often push artists into projects that help the business partners of those handling the artist.

Watched The Marvels aka Captain Marvel 2 today and it is bad. Honestly, I'm really disappointed because I wanted it to be good because I like Brie a lot as Captain Marvel and I want to see good movies.
Reasons why it was bad:
It is disjointed. It's a 105 min runtime (thankfully) but the scenes don't really connect and it's very clear that stuff has been edited out. I'm not saying that putting the stuff back in would have made it better because fundamentally it's a writing problem in that the villain is weak, the chemistry between the three leads isn't developed enough, and the whole plot is so basic and paper thin that it's basically like a video game fetch quest.
Some of the light hearted moments/attempts at humor I found really cringe. I don't know if it's because I'm much older than I was when I watched the first marvel films (but then again, I've rewatched some lately and Tony's quips are still very fun), but the singing planet stuff makes me roll my eyes and the flerkin kittens + Memory from Cats scene makes me question - who approved this?!
Needs more character development and backstory. Why is Monica upset with Carol? Why is Dar-Benn (the villain) angry at Carol? What happened to the Kree planet? What's with the Skrull colonies? It's like a whole movie's (not giving Disney ideas but) been skipped. When Monica forgave Carol for leaving, I felt nothing. The best parts of the early Marvel movies were the character development of our heroes and the chemistry between leads and this movie had none of that.
Also, they used a lot of flashbacks that were just scenes directly taken from other movies/tv shows - like Marvel has money, why is it giving me CW network show budget episodes?
It might be time to just give up on any Marvel properties unless they start getting reviewed back in the 80s/90s again on rotten tomatoes.
Some good things I guess:
Kamala's family and Kamala
Brie Larsen is so fit (also does anyone else get lesbian vibes from Captain Marvel?)
Teyonnah (Monica's actress) is so pretty
Zawe (Dar-Benn) really hamming it up with those facial expressions as the villain (fun! too bad the writing/editing is sucking right now)
