Mentions of Blood
Accidental self harm
---
It was a sunny day. The weather was perfect. No cloud in the sky, no one around, it was just...Wambus. It was perfect. But it was missing something. Something he couldn't put his finger on. Wambus worked hard in the dirt, planting seed after seed, occasionally looking up and around Snaxburg.
Snaxburg?.
That was...no. It was fine. It was perfect. Right?
Wambus brushed off his negative thoughts. It was so...easy. He hated how easy it was but didn't bother to do anything about it. It had just been him on the island for a year by himself.
No... wait no... there were others. But never mind them, this was perfect. This...isn't what he wanted. But this wasn't up to Wambus. It never was every time he fell asleep. It wasn't up to him to realize this was a dream either.
Crunch...crunch...
Wambus walked through the falls. There wasn't a Bugsnax in sight. How perfect that made this day as well. The grass beneath his feet swayed and would make small crunching noises every time he walked, deeper and deeper...The path he was on didn't exist. Wambus continued to trench through nature. He didn't want this to go away, yet it was all too much to handle. It felt strange. He missed his friends, his lover, everything. But it felt like when he was here, he couldn't resist the idea of having everything he wanted... even if it meant losing everyone who wanted him. It was a horrible idea. He knew it... but once more, he was unable to resist. It was perfect.
The quiet whisper from the trees started to become cries for help, the grew louder...his footsteps grew faster. The urge to run away had kicked in.He kept his eyes down, went faster, she told him, and he followed. It stuck to him like glue.
Who...how?
"Liz...! Where the hell are you...?! I-I..."
Wambus stopped running and shouted, calling her name. How... how?! How was she doing that...?! Why... Why did the urges sound like her...?!
"LIZBERT!" Wambus shouted once more, teard in his eyes. At this point, anyone would've been fine as long as they were with him.
"...Gramble! Beffica! Goddammit...where is everybody?!"
Wambus could hear the cries again. Same as last night, but it wasn't up to him to realize that.
"Triffany...?" His voice went brittle as he felt someone grab his leg, yelping in pain as he ran off.Go faster, don't turn around, and make it to the peak.
Wambus didn't question it. He didn't think to question it. Not a single Bugsnax in sight, only him... right?
Wambus closed his eye. In only a blink, it seemed he was at Frosted Peak. The snowflake glistened around as Wambus lost his balance. Face first into the ice, the blood trailed down his face as he limped somewhere...anywhere.
This was perfect. This was deserved.
Wambus continued through the snow, up the mountain, he did t even stop the blood, he had thus dream before, but now he was bleeding.Wambus stopped to take a break as he slid against the side of the ice, falling to his knees, sobbing. He wanted to call out for someone, anyone, to help him...
"Triffany..." He whimpered as he sobbed to himself, shaking like crazy. Hearing the faint whispering only made him shake harder. He was terrified. Why wouldn't this end? Why did it have to be him to suffer through this?! He cried so hard that it felt like he was falling asleep, in the snow, covered in his own blood. Feeling his eyelids shut, he jolted awake.
He was home. He was safe. He turned, seeing Triffany safe and sound. He climbed out of bed, rushing to the bathroom. Something cut him. There was a giant wound over his nose now, fresh and bloody, deep into his fur.
Wambus gagged at the sight of it. Silence filled the atmosphere. He just sat there, staring at himself. He broke down, his head over the sink as he sobbed. It wasn't pretty, either. He looked like a mess. His hair wasn't brushed, all frizzy and fluffy. He was so drained.
Triffany had finally woken up to hear his sobbing, full of confusion as he walked to the bathroom, knocking on the door.
"Hun, you okay in there?" Triffany worryingly asked him through the wooden door, hearing his sobs.
Wambus took a deep breath, but it wasn't enough to calm him down. It just kept his sobs silent.
"Mhm..." Wambus quietly mumbled back, loud enough for Triffany to hear him.
Triffany took a step back from the door, sighing quietly. "Can I...come in...?"
Wambus hesitated but opened the door. His face drained water, and small splotches of blood from the wound. He refused to look her in the eyes. Triffany placed a hand on his cheek, looking up at him as the tears streamed down his face. She felt horrible, she couldn't imagine what had caused this.
She glanced down at his paw, his claws bloody and sharp.
She was... reassured, but was still worried. Wambus sniffled as he looked into Triffany's eyes.
"I...." Wambus could barely get a sentence out. He'd never been this hurt, let alone by himself, in his life. He knew why he was shaking, why he was bleeding, and why he was crying.
"Did you...hurt yourself, in your sleep, again?" Triffany put a hand on his chin, forcing him to look at her. Wambus nodded.
"I didn't mean to. I don't...I don't even remember it happening...!" Wambus chuckled, trying to lighten the mood, but it quickly turned into him sobbing in her shoulder.
Triffany wrapped his arms around him, rubbing his back with her hand.
"Hey, hey... Calm down, dear..." Triffany smiled, but it quickly faded. She didn't know why he felt horrible. He didn't know why he was so worked up.
Triffany grabbed his hand, laying a kiss on his cheek. He looked at the wound up close, watching the blood drip. It looked deep like the ocean.
"C'mon, let's go get that patched up." Triffany grasped his hand tightly as she walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind the two of them.

Bro im shitposting like crazy but anyways I'm just gonna slip this here
// TW: Mentions of Su1cid3, m3nt@! aßu$3, also spoilers for my AU
Basically, Wambus isn't dead but also he isn't alive after falling into the Jam at the end of chapter 5 in my AU. After he drowned and awoke once more, there were two Wambus'. Basically, the Jam was so strong on his mind it split his consciousness into two.
Theres normal Wambus, with the physical body who feels most of the pain mentally and physically, also emotionally. He's the one who isn't a straight up asshole. It's just... Wambus.
Then there the other Wambus. Normsl Wambus can only see other Wambus in his reflection, so he calls him Mirror Wambus. Mirror Wambus the complete opposite of Wambus. He doesn't feel pain, mentally, physically, and emotionally, He's a straight up asshole. Manipulative and a narcissist.
Only Wambus can see, hear, and speak to Mirror Wambus. Triffany can slightly hear Mirror Wambus, but it's just a small whisper to her.
Mirror Wambus and regular Wambus hate each other, a LOT. Since Mirror Wambus is only a spirit and can't really do any physical damage (also because he's very manipulative with regular) Wambus he has tried multiple times to convince Wambus to kill himself so Mirror Wambus can take over their body and finally be physical. He's tried killing Wambus himself but after a few tries realized he was just a spirit and chose to resort to that.
Wambus isn't naïve, obviously, so Mirror Wambus hasn't been very successful. Mirror Wambus even existed before the events of Snaktooth (aka the one giving Wambus nightmares and causing him to go to Snaktooth) but Wambus couldn't see him yet.
And one final thing, Spike knows about Mirror Wambus, but won't tell Wambus.
Anyways this rant has gone on long enough so yeah, I'll release designs of the two of them soon!! :3
