I think my barf with people who do a more "canon" Ink personality is less "dang they made him annoying for what" because when I think about that I actually still really like his personality. I don't like how they make characters around him act, like why does everyone seem to hate the guy for having fun {in context of being silly and not doing like hatecrimes}
I mean even in Comyet's art they never say that people actually hate Ink like he has friends and family and at most people get a little annoyed when he doesn't understand certain things, I think the only one in canon who actually dislikes him is Dream and that's not even really "hate" or annoyance just more offputt-ness
I hope people know what I'm talking about since this is pretty niche, also no hate to anyone who does this it's perfectly fine!! It's just a personal pet peeve lol

Apparently much-needed reminder that reposting artists' art (by saving the images or screenshotting them and reuploading them yourself) on other platforms without the artists' expressed permission and without credit is theft and an insult to their passion and craft. You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.
If you are an art reposter, you are a thief and I have no respect for you.

if there's one [1] thing i will be forever grateful for in the internet era it's the vast variety and availability of pose / anatomy references supplied by photographers and models
i can go online and find PERFECT references for how fat folds crease the skin or how muscles wrap around the body and as someone who habitually draws most of his OCs ~modestly lean~ and wants to hone his skill in other body types, it is literally a godsend to have those refs so readily available
seriously, thank you all models and photographers for providing me the resources i need to expand my art skills i owe u my life

Just wanted to mention this to someone who does art and get their opinion on it:
Sometimes I see some artists do redraws of their old artworks or characters and think "Wow, uh... their older art looks better." Sometimes it's only mildly better, but other times it's vastly better. Like the Upgrade, Go Back! meme.
I understand that art skills are supposed to develop and change, hopefully for the better, but sometimes it just feels like they got... worse? Somehow? Idk. Maybe it's because they were copying another artist's style while finding their own, and it's their own style that doesn't vibe with me? Just curious what your thoughts are about this.
Also, your art has consistently been great, so this isn't directed at you.
I do see this on occasion yeah! usually (in my experience anyway) its because people take a sharp turn towards a stylization that either isn't to your or most people's tastes, or that they don't understand or are still developing. switching up how you stylize your art is like starting over in a sense, you're changing from what you have practice with and that's always going to cause you to revert some as you have to re-learn things you understood in your previous style. i had a pretty big style shift in 2014 when i took up the basis for how my art looks now, and i remember feeling like some of the stuff i was drawing might have looked better if i was using my older style instead. that's something artists just have to push through and figure out, and they'll likely come out of it a better artist than they were before. constructive critiques are a good way for them to figure out why their art might not be as "good" as it used to be, if they're open for those.
art is not always a linear journey, and i would also say things like passion and motivation have a part in it too. feeling inspired sparks you to make something the best it can be, if you're not feeling it (and esp if that feeling lasts for a long time) it'll leave you making decisions you otherwise would not have let fly, and that can result in worse art. and some of it is just personal preference! it's not that their art is better or worse, it's just different now, and maybe that doesn't vibe with you the same way their old stuff did. and that's fine 👍
(thank you! :3 i admittedly struggle a bit with Not Feeling It sometimes like i just described, so it's nice to know people still enjoy what i make when that feeling hits.)

I think if you're a huge Sonic fan it's perfectly fine and valid to have critiques about the series and the way the writers handle it, because like. Y'know. It's healthy and shit to be able to critique your interests, even the ones you have the biggest attachment to. But if it's getting to a point where you're wishing the loss of a job, physical harm, or even death on people who have been creatively involved in the series because they "ruined it" then you need to dial it way wayyy back and also maybe get a hobby and perhaps seek therapy

Hello!, your drawings are really good. You are an art, I am obsessed with your drawings, they are very perfect and symmetrical. Could you give tips or advice to improve? , please. Thanks for reading.❤️
hi, thank you!
as for tips on improvement i kinda mostly learned everything i know off youtube videos😭😭always use references when you're drawing something you're unfamiliar with, or even if you're doing a pose you aren't familiar with. A lot of the odd poses I do, I couldn't have done without references.
if you're looking to learn anatomy, I think this playlist by sinix on youtube is incredibly helpful. I also frequent samdoesarts videos and I learned a lot of anatomy tips from him as well.
another tip is to just study others' art that you like. Take a second and just look at it. Look at the way they do their lineart, the way they use color, the way they stylize their characters. You can try and replicate their work as well. I've actually done this in the past with some of Harukawa's pieces:
aand lastly don't restrict yourself. if you want to draw something then draw it. If you don't have the motivation to continue drawing something, then leave it and move on to the next thing. One thing I've found helpful when I'm in an artblock is to just draw the first thing that comes to mind with a rough brush on 1 layer (or even to just take a step back for a day/few days and do other stuff that makes me happy). Make sure you're having fun with art & draw stupid things sometimes if you feel like it🤟hope this helped

I personally think a lot of the games industry layoffs coming from publicly traded companies is a shortcoming of capitalism. But like how can I even begin to explain that? The fact that it's illegal to run a company like that without doing everything in your power to maximize profits is killer. Because that means do everything in your power to make money now, within this quarter. Nevermind about long term. You have to do as much as you can right now. And I see layoffs as part of that. It's an immediate relief for a business to not have to pay as much out, but what about a year from now when you don't have those employees' labor anymore? What of the games they didn't make for you? Or the disruption to the employees who stayed?
For a game like destiny who switched to a fascinating live ops model with d2, surely you need to keep developing new things to keep the velocity high? You said the revenue follows from there? So why reduce your velocity so much so suddenly? Short term gain vs long term gain?
I'm sure things are more complicated than I'm making them out to be, but this keeps happening and I really just need to have something to believe as to why. I want there to be a reason so that there can theoretically be a solution.

sometimes i think people are a little ridiculous and fearmongery about ai on here and then i open twitter and see takes like "that image of a mouse in a suit is ai so im putting my painting commissions on indefinite hold because ai stole the joy from me" (...what about your existing clients??) and "this database uses art from consenting artists but it's still bad for some reason and if you contribute to it every Real Artist hates you" and I think okay maybe it's Not So Bad here after all
