A New House Guest

Looks like I've got a new psycho-jester to join Marx. X)

Been a while since I posted my own artwork - college has been kicking my ass, but hopefully you enjoy this picture!

I found out earlier today that in first concept, Catnap was gonna act as more of a mascot suit and I'm honestly glad they didn't go that route

It's definitely not a bad one, it's absolutely horrific that in this version a child would be living in this blood-stained plush suit for a whole 14 years, but I'm a much, much bigger fan of the idea that the scientists took bits and parts of the experiments bodies, from their bones, to their nervous systems, and of course their organs, and used them to build these new, garish bodies

It's much more technologically advanced and puts into perspective how insane this whole operation was, and how inhumane

It also feels much more permanent than the mascot suit. Like with the suit I'm sure it's still permanent in some way, but this feels much more like,, this is Theo's life now, he has no way out, and at least physically, he *is* Catnap

I also like that, before you even know there's people in these toys, you know they're organic; they bleed, and they feel despite their appearance. That was a big realization for me and I like that aspect a lot

shaken out of my work induced exhaustion to complain about my neighbor from across the street's outdoor cat. had to help the neighbor kids get her down from our tree just now. and according to them she's been seen on the roof of the house i live in??? and has gone into backyards before. my biggest concern is that my dog is free to wander into the fenced backyard anytime he wants cause of a dog flap. he's been historically friendly to cats but he does have a prey drive and i worry about what will happen if he instinctively chases after one and catches up to it. and i really don't want to find a dead, possibly mauled cat on my back patio. tempted to talk to the neighbors about this but my family is already at odds with one neighbor, and i don't want to possibly antagonize another.
