Monsterotica: Now Recruiting Author Applicants!
Tumblr media
Exciting news, everyone! Duck Prints Press is now accepting applications from authors interested in contributing to our next erotica anthology. Monsterotica: Tales of Unusual Courtship and Coupling will feature 15 stories, each up to 7,500 words, focused on how monsters court and bed their bedmates! We want your beasts, your creatures, your cryptids, your part-humans; we want them to have genitalia unusual and exotic; and we want to see how they pursue a liaison, in the streets and in the sheets.
Who are we? We’re Duck Prints Press, the indie micro press founded by fancreators for fancreators! We focus on working with fanauthors and fanartists to publish their original work – the more LGBTQIA+ the better! To join one of our projects as an author, you must be 18 or over and have posted at least 3 separate works (minimum 10,000 words) of fanfiction on a publicly accessible site such as Archive of Our Own. If that describes you, and you saw “monsterf*cker” and your eyes lit up, you should consider applying! Learn more!

Dating Game Project
Something that Silverman and I have been toying with is the idea to start a relatively large, long-term project to make a Dating Sim from scratch. I for one hope that something like this will be helpful to my career, and I'm aiming for a rather high-standards work process. Nothing is set in stone yet, but if there's anyone amongst my followers (yes, You. I'm talking to you. I want YOU for gay shit) who would like to participate in this project in any position, feel free to contact me. Let's put together a summer project of the slightly unusual kind.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS NEARCH PROJECT ART & ARCHAEOLOGY  'THE MATERIALITY OF THE INVISIBLE' Deadline: 1 May 2014
The Van Eyck invites visual artists with a strong interest in archaeology as a method for their own artistic practice to apply for a fellowship for a period of 6 months in the framework of "NEARCH - New scenarios for a community-involved archaeology".
We are proud to say that the Van Eyck is a partner of NEARCH, a prestigious European project-based network of archaeological institutes and university departments. NEARCH is funded by the EU through 2018.  We are convinced that with all differences visual artists and archaeologists share many similar attitudes, modes of thought and outlooks – amongst them the importance of looking, researching, finding, creating, interpreting, presenting.
THE MATERIALITY OF THE INVISIBLE is one of the themes the partners of NEARCH aim to explore. This theme offers a hitherto unknown opportunity to research in practice the interaction between artists and archaeologists, to work together in close confines, to profoundly exchange information and to thoroughly questioning both professions in an age of change and fluctuating cultural attitudes. In 2017 an exhibition and symposium is planned to unveil the outcome of this process to an international audience of professionals and non-professionals alike.
The starting point for this fellowship is the idea that all that is visible expresses what is invisible – be it a photograph, a house, a fragment, a day in my life, an artwork, a car in the street.  And, similarly, all that is material stresses its immateriality - be it a ruin, a beam of light, a polished surface, a movie, a church. This is the tension of THE MATERIALITY OF THE INVISIBLE and of the working processes of artists and archaeologists.
What we are offering:
4 positions at the Van Eyck for a period of 6 months with the possibility of an extension depending on your project. The starting date will be fixed in mutual agreement
A monthly stipend, a studio and a working budget
A travel budget to visit excavations and to collaborate closely with one of NEARCH’s partners
The support of Jan van Eyck’s advisors, the use of its Labs and its multidisciplinary community
Participation in the general meetings with NEARCH’s partners
Presentation of your work at the 2017 exhibition
All potential applicants must apply before 1 May 2014. For more information about the application procedure: click here
The NEARCH programme brings together the following research organizations, universities and European cultural institutions :
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece ) Heritage Institute of Science - National Research Council (Spain ), Institute of artistic, cultural and natural heritage of the Emilia -Romagna region (Italy); Culture Lab (Belgium ) Faculty Archaeology at the University of Leiden (Netherlands ) Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland ), Archaeology Data Service , University of York ( UK ) German Archaeological Institute (Germany ), Jan van Eyck Academie (Netherlands ) CENTQUATRE - Paris ( France ), University of Oxford ( UK ), University of Gothenburg (Sweden). - Associated Partners : Archaeology Unit of the city of Saint- Denis , EAA - European Association of Archaeologists , ICAHM - International Scientific Committee on Archaeological Heritage Management.

Hello,
dear little ice cubes! The page has been a little bit quiet because we both were very busy doing projects outside of the #iczine. We hope you are also accomplishing your projects and hope that this letter finds you well!
Reminder As you may or may not know, the fifth edition of the zine launched on March 1st! [link] Do you like it? Do you think there could be some improvement? Please, tell us what you think! 😊 Issue 6 will revolve around the theme of water and as always, you are free to interpret it however you like, whether it is fiction/non-fiction text (prose, poetry), collage, a comic, photography, an illustration…
Announcement Why have the zine updates been dormant? The silence is due to some changes in the team… Because of life and other reasons, Driva @drivaritar has decided to step back from the role as co-editor of ICZ. She’ll still be contributing to the zine in other ways but has decided it’s time to let someone else take over her seat. This means we’ll be looking for someone (maybe you?! 😃) who has an eye for layout and a love for graphic design. Together with Marlene @m0rla , you will work to develop the zine and make it grow! Are you skilled in Photoshop and InDesign? Do you have experience from previous zine projects, or do you feel this is something you want to learn? Please fill out the google form provided.
application
If you know someone who would be interested, please, forward this to them!
Thank you so much for your continued support,
Driva & Marlene

Call for Applications dedicated to Plant 4.0 Startups
Buoyed by the success of the Plant 4.0 start-up incubator launched by Total in 2016, the Group decided to repeat the experience, this time opening up the project to include other industry partners, on the narrower theme of innovative solutions offered by the industrial Internet of Things (IoT).
This open innovation approach aims to identify the start-ups that offer practical, relatively mature industrial solutions to meet specialized operational requirements. The fledgling companies can test their technology, product or service directly with their potential customers and are put in contact with the incubator’s manufacturing partners and their start-up ecosystems. Total and the other partners will also share their expertise with the successful candidates.
