When it comes to primary care in Westminster, Maryland, early detection of heart conditions can make a world of difference. Electrocardiograms (EKGs) are essential tools in this process, providing valuable insights into the heart’s electrical activity. By analyzing these readings, healthcare providers can identify potential issues such as arrhythmias or signs of heart disease, ensuring timely intervention and better health outcomes for patients.

I hate that I have to carry my cane even on "good days" or over bearable distances because people will think I'm just faking it otherwise. Because I'm "too young for a cane." Yeah, it would be unusual for general old age to have done this. However, other things exist! I had scoliosis BEFORE that car wreck fucked up my heel, think of it as a tragedy if you must but we're here regardless! I'm perfectly fine with short distances most days, getting the mail or bringing in groceries. But that doesn't invalidate me needing a cane other days!
Oddly enough the only person in my apartment building who didn't really question my need, just offered genuine use advice since he figured I was new, was my landlord. When a fucking landlord has been one of the most empathetic people I've met about this there's a problem. (Also the weird he thought I was new tbh, I'd had a rolling chair and little prep table in my kitchen for the last like 6 inspections and he'd never questioned it. and a cane hanging up for years prior come to think of it.) Point is, just trust that other people know their body better than you. If you must, remember that they wouldn't be doing an inconvenient thing for no reason, I struggle to think of an aid that isn't some degree of annoying at times. It's none of your damn business unless I'm hitting you with it, which I grow more tempted by the more you question how I care for my own body. And yes, it is injury. I don't need a cane because I'm a little fat. Absolutely shocking how some people think the fatness caused the cane, not that having lowered mobility made me burn less calories. Though thankfully people usually feel silly once I point that out. Still doesn't fucking excuse acting like me having a belly is in any way their problem.
#vivi rambles#I'll probably delete this later#disability i guess#personal rant#I'm not even that fat either.#like 200 to 210 lbs/90 to 95 kilos bit more during the holidays#like that's not thin since I'm a bit short but my doctor says I'm quite healthy so fuck off.#like my cardiovascular health is surprisingly good even without factoring in my mobility issues

Thinking about that time I pretty much simulated a heart attack via uncooked mung beans (from the jaw pain to the nausea to the tingly left arm to the racing pulse and cold sweat) and fainted for like five seconds. Either it was a cut and dry reboot or I died and experienced the consciousness shunting to another universe effect of quantum immortality but I regained awareness like five seconds after hitting the floor feeling fucking perfect. Like before fainting I was in the grips of food poisoning of a "I probably should have gone to the ER" scale and afterwards, totally fine, better than before the food poisoning.
Fun fact if it had been an actual emergency I would have been dead 100% I was only able to fire off one emergency text to my aunt before putting the phone on the table just before meeting the floor lol
#In other news. I do like fainting#It usually is like a reboot#Conk out for five seconds come back feeling great#10/10 would faint again#but like. maybe not while standing or sitting on a chair without arms i think#the floor is not great.#Also not fond of fainting due to cardiovascular issues actually#Like that one time I almost conked out again when it felt like my heart stopped lol#I was supposed to get an EKG but they never got back to me :/

Your risk of serious cardiovascular events after an episode of COVID extends 3 (or more) years after. This is consistent with viral persistence after infection. The story of postCOVID conditions just gets worse with more research and information. Please avoid getting COVID! written by Dr. Dick Zoutman a retired infectious disease doctor who lives in Canada.
