speaking of Slider AUs,,, here’s an older one from like 2 weeks ago:
Guys I woke up at 12:08 AM and had a epiphany about Slider being such a good stupid dad for Bradley and being tight with the Bradshaws— than I pooped this out:
Bradley was six years-old when Ron Kerner became his dad.
After his dad died his aviator friends took Bradley and Carole under their wings while they grieved. Mav and Slider stood out the most. Mav was of course there in a heartbeat, but he was basically family and it just made sense for him to be with them. Slider though make room for them as a “friend of your dad” than became a family friend. He dropped off Bradley for school, cooked meals for the two if Carole was feeling tired, and made the once silent house lively again.
Slider had his own big family back at home and maybe that allowed for him to be more understanding and empathetic to the Bradshaws, but Bradley was just glad he was there tucking him in at night like his dad used to.
Carole loved him like a brother and Slider looked out for her like he would his sisters. The Kerner family would invite the Bradshaws (plus Mav) to holiday parties and send gifts for Bradley’s birthdays as the two families got closer.
Slider was one of the first people to find out about the cancer. Bradley was the last.
When Bradley was five, his mom died. Slider took him out to the waiting room while Mav and Carole had their last conversation. Something Slider heard when walking back in caused him to raise his voice yelling. Bradley just wanted his mom to feel better and flipped through the magazines laying on the hospital table as the shouting increased then went silent. A cartoon dog was winking at him holding out some medicine on the 25th page saying, ‘you’ll feel better soon!’.
Almost 24 hours later, she died. Mav and Slider weren’t talking and Bradley didn’t know what was going to happen next. After his dad’s death he started to understand what funerals meant and grew up a bit faster than other kids.
That night, Bradley started crying in his bed, he didn’t have any power over anything and the unknown was creeping up on him. He hated this crushing feeling in his chest. Mav and Slider ran into his room and soothed him until he fell asleep that night. Bradley was glad they were both there when he woke up in the morning.
After the funeral Bradley hung out with Ice while the adults talked again. Even though he was playing with the rocks he could still hear the conversation happening, just whispers of it.
“—you don’t have one, I do,” Uncle Slider said, his tone was aggressive. “I don’t want him to grow up without—“
Ice distracted Bradley for a second giving him a larger rock he said he found near the river. A pity rock, was what Bradley thought.
“—Ron—“, Uncle Mav was cut off.
“I won’t interfere if you let me— Pete I’m begging. Let me do this.”
A year later, living between Uncle Mav and the Kerner family, Bradley Bradshaw was officially adopted into Ron Kerner’s care.

when the horne section was doing macarena on catsdown and the rose was so limp WHY WAS IT SO LIMP
the greatest breath smeller game
"this makes me so angry because they wouldn't show the clip of me attacking my mother with a taser! i thought it was really funny!"
josh groban being an absolute wizard at singing intros followed by martin freeman being an absolute wizard at guessing them to the point production asked him to slow down giving the answer because he was too good
when stacey solomon said she likes teresa may and jimmy carr, gino d'acampo, and carol vorderman were absolutely speechless
alex’s reaction after joe says he has pineapple in his ass
when jimmy used the 30 seconds to wax his leg??
the way the queen’s pussy being haunted was like genuine headline news
mark sending greg 148 texts and getting 0 points ("what a terrible waste of time")
when that nude model came on for jimmy to (pretend) to live draw and lee mack was so gobsmacked at that man's penis he violently elbowed david o'doherty going "look at that!"
"you wouldn't do that during shakespeare, would you?"
on outsiders when joe wilkinson couldn't believe david mitchell is only 47 and literally said "do you live outside"
phil wang roasting ed gamble and saying "ed's girlfriend is such a dog i tried to eat her"
"you cannot imply that only gay people eat vegetables"
♪ but bin men get sad ♪
when those podcasters were reading joe wilkinson his own tweets and he was sweating so much and then just covered his eyes and went "what's wrong with me..."
"stephen fry wouldn't read 'pussy-friendly finger'"
when johnny vegas was literally eating a tin of fucking dog food and kathy burke was like "what's happening??" and jimmy so nonchalantly went "we're just eating dog food :)"
when noel ate some of alex's beard and greg said "you are aware that when we're at home alex is only allowed to move around like a snake?"
every joe & rachel hug ever here's a cute one :')
claudia completely bodying this lie and everyone's animals being so cute and funny and rob and lee complaining just the whole thing
on rhlstp when richard was Being Richard for the last hour and louis theroux was Over It and richard went "have you ever tried to suck your own cock?" and louis just died and then muttered "...do we have to..."
"i don't really eat potatoes it feels a bit irish :/"
johnny vegas pulling something out of rhod gilbert's pants, sniffing it, and then scandalising the entire room by saying "i've been told i smell better from behind than i do from the front, lovers have told me"

People often talk about all the projects David and Catherine worked on together.
But how often did they really work together (on stage or in front of a camera)? I'm new to the whole Tatennant thing, and the only projects I'm aware of are Doctor Who and Much Ado About Nothing. 🫣
Hello kind Anon
I hope you are enjoying your time in the Tatennant fandom!
David and Catherine don't get cast together in drama projects outside Doctor Who unless they have a hand in it. Like the Comic Relief sketch, Big Night In, The Ballad of Russell & Julie, Nan's Christmas Carol, or MAAN.
But they've appeared in TV shows like Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, The Graham Norton Show, and The Jonathan Ross Show to do promotions. They also presented a few radio shows for Jonathan Ross, helping out when he was ill, on one occassion. They used to have the link to listen/download this on david-tennant.com, but they stopped doing this a while ago.
They also both took part in the comedians interview BBC Radio 4 show Chain Reaction. Comedy gold, and always makes me laugh.
More often than not, where one leads, the other follows. This has happened with things like This Is Jinsey, The Friday/Sunday Night Project, Very British Problems, the Nativity films (David was in Nativity 2, and Catherine in Nativity 3) and Duck Tales. They presented the 400 years of Shakespeare programme Shakespeare Live! together in 2016; and last year they presented a BAFTA together.
Of course, there has been the glory that are the Big Finish audio adventures that feature the Doctor and Donna Noble: volumes 1, 3, and Kidnapped. You can find snippets of these on the Big Finish website.
They were scheduled to appear together as a married couple in a comedy called Americons, but the pandemic put paid to that idea. *sigh* Shame.
Hopefully, there are a few things here that you'd like to seek out later.

Very weird question. Have a Birrin and a human ever fallen in love? I was inspired by "Look, you think you got troubles" by Carol Carr, a story about a jewish girl marrying an alien (who also happens to be a rabbi).
I can neither confirm nor deny such things.

Getting to Know You Tag Game
Aw, thanks @ghostofnoir, for the tag! So enjoyed reading yours here! I didn't know you were a LOTR and Aragorn fan before. :)
Three Ships: Drarry, Scarry, and most recently a little Haphne (due to the current story I'm writing.) I joined the Haphne discord, and it's been fascinating. I'm so used to Drarry's, which is huge. This is much more intimate and casual. As there's not the same amount of story production, the members discuss more about headcanons and such.
First Ship: Drarry
Last Song: Oh geez. Last night, I was listening to a Celtic Fantasy collection as inspiration. I loved it but couldn't tell you the names of individual pieces.
Last Movie: Barbie. Daughter (20) and I went a week ago. Really enjoyed it and the popcorn. I don't eat carbs, so the popcorn was an exceptional treat!
Currently Reading: Thanks to Zeitgeistic (AO3), Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking Without Willpower. I used to smoke, quit, started vaping, and it's been a bear trying to quit again.
Currently Watching: Nothing much recently. In a lul. I'm a bit of an HGTV fan and love that Bargain Block is back.
Last Thing I Wrote: My fic for @hd-fan-fair (career-fair 2023), which should be coming out in October under Anon. LOL
Currently Writing: My WIP The Azkaban Letters, which is Drarry and Haphne *blinks* I've posted 14 chapters and have written 24 so far. I update every Tuesday. Harry's in love with Draco, who is in Azkaban for thirty years. Daphne and Harry have an arranged marriage to save the Potter bloodline. A bit of a reverse trope of the usual saving the Malfoy bloodline. Canon divergent after HBP.
Tagging: @m0srael, @phdmama and @caroll-in (who can substitute art for fic though their art is usually a fab story! Can't wait to read your responses!

hi! I know you sell books so I thought there was a chance you might be able to help me! my brother in law is on the hunt for late 1800s/1900s set murder mysteries, series or standalones. he also likes his books “clean” if that’s relevant lol, I know that might not be your genre of choice (it’s not mine either, hence my search for help lol) but I figured I’d ask!! I hope you’re well💞
howdy! you're right it's not really my genre but i wish it was so some stand out to me.
- the alienist by caleb carr
- the name of the rose by umberto eco
- the name of the wind by carol ruiz zafón
- the daughter of time by josephine tey
- the sweetness at the bottom of the pie by alan bradley
- an instance of the finger post by iain pairs
- perfume: the story of a murder by patrick suskind
hope that helps!
