A Supernaturally Marvelous Fic Challenge

Calling all Supernatural and Marvel fanfic writers!

I don’t know about y’all, but writer’s block and lack of motivation have hit me harder than ever this year. It’s no secret that 2020 has been a giant crap show for a lot of people, but our precious fics and fandoms can be such a great escape from it all. In an attempt to spread some inspiration and feel good vibes, I wanted to make my follower celebration something that might help both writers and readers.

Below you’ll find all sorts of prompts (dialogue, songs, AUs, etc.) because you never know what might inspire you. Since we’ve all had a tough year, there’s a catch! You’ve got to give it a happy ending.

Make it fun. Make it sassy. Make it steamy. But for the love of ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY please wrap it up nicely with good things and a “fluffy” bow. Cool? Cool.

Now, on to the rest:

This is my follower celebration for both blogs, so please consider following @carryonmywaywardcaptain​, @carryoncaptainrogers​, or both!

As you may have guessed from the title, prompts can be written for Supernatural or Marvel (extra love and virtual hugs if you choose to write about Dean Winchester or Steve Rogers because they are the loves of my life. But there’s still plenty of love for the rest of the Avengers & TFW!)

Angst, smut, crack, and fluff are all welcome, but remember to give it a fluffy/positive ending and tag the warnings accordingly (Please steer clear of smut if you’re under 18. Stay young and innocent, babes.)

No limit to how many people sign up for each prompt. Feel free to combine prompts or even combine fandoms in a crossover! Whatever gets your creative juices flowing.

Send an ask with the prompt you want to do and the pairing you’re planning to write (life gets busy, so I’ll do a reminder post before the deadline if it’s helpful for you!). Reader inserts or OCs are both fine.

Tag me in the A/N and use the hashtag #supernaturally marvelous fic challenge by December 20th January 31st. If you’re garbage at deadlines like me, I’m super flexible and won’t hold it against you if you get it done later! I’ll reblog SPN fics on this blog and Marvel pairings over on @carryoncaptainrogers​ so your fics are seen by the fans who need them most :)

First of all, who doesn’t enjoy a little alliteration? (I know Jim Halpert does!)

I’m getting close to my 1,500 follower milestone and for my follower celebration I want to celebrate YOU-- the badass humans and writers of Tumblr! I know a lot of you guys write your own fanfiction, and that’s honestly a huge part of why I get on Tumblr! (and, you know, why I joined in the first place) So I’m using it as a thank you for reading my work or just tolerating my ridiculous hype and sexy man posts. 

I don’t know about you, but I’ve read some fics that I’ve saved so I can selfishly reread them over and over again, some that have changed my life, and some that have made me sit here like

So with that being said...all you really have to do is TAG ME in your favorite work you’ve created so far. And then, you know, there’s a few other guidelines. haha. I’m a liar.

It can be ANY FANDOM. Yep. I’m into SPN and Marvel, but I would never hold it against you if you wrote something for another fandom. Everyone has their favs, and who knows? Maybe someone will see your story on this masterlist (or vice versa), and you’ll find new friends to follow!

TELL ME WHY it’s your favorite or why you’re especially proud of it. Because I’m nosy and love hearing about why things matter to you. You can be as detailed or vague as possible. If it’s cool with you, I might even include a snippet of your explanation in the masterlist. Idk friends, I’m making this up as I go.

Haven’t written anything, but always thought about it?? Now’s your chance to give it a shot!! Writing has been such a wonderful outlet for me, and some of my friends that hesitated to share their stuff at first have really taken off with it. There’ll be no judgement from any of us, and this is a great chance for you to get your feet wet! Don’t ever let your fear of it “being bad” hold you back-- I promise whatever you create will strike a chord with someone and they’ll love it.

Pairing: MoC!Dean x reader

Summary: Dean’s losing his grip with the Mark, so you offer him a different outlet to work through some of his tension.

A/N: For @cockslut-padalecki’s Eleven Sentence Challenge (prompt: I want it to hurt). Gif credit to @heartless-antichrist and @justjensenanddean I’ve been wanting to write something inspired by Three Days Grace’s “Pain” (a classic banger I will never grow tired of). This will have to do for now, but maybe it can be a teaser for a future fic ;)

You cradled Dean’s face, stroking his stubbled cheek with your thumb until his unfocused gaze met yours. Noticing his murky green eyes were distant and every bit as tense as the rest of his body, you wanted nothing more than to ease some of his pain.

“I can tell how miserable you’ve been feeling, trying to numb everything you’ve kept bottled up...all of that anger and agony you’ve been carrying since you got the Mark. Please, just give this a chance, Dean—trust me.”

Spotting the crease in his brow as his lips parted, you tentatively kissed him before he could protest the arrangement. His actions were timid as he returned the favor, teasing and caressing your tongue with his own, while his hands gently settled on your waist.

“I trust you, Dean.” You murmured the affirmation, pausing for a moment to let your words sink in before sucking his bottom lip between your teeth. “Besides...I want it to hurt.”

With a huff of surrender, he lunged forward and slammed you against the wall as he devoured you with a fervent kiss. The space between the two of you was charged when he leaned away, studying you until his hooded eyes drifted to his hand carefully wrapping around your throat.

CarryOnCap500 Submissions Deadline!

Hey friends! I’m so excited to post the Masterlist for my very first challenge! The Masterlist will actually go up Monday evening 4/23. They’re technically due tomorrow so I can finish putting the post together, but I feel like more people are online Monday vs. Sunday nights. (also to give those of you who still haven’t submitted yours as much time as possible)

I get writer’s block ALL THE TIME (hence my lack of SPN fics as of late), and life happens. There’s absolutely no penalties, and I’ll still include your story even if I don’t get it tomorrow. But I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to get it submitted because if it’s on the original Masterlist more friends will see it, more people will read it, and you deserve to have your work appreciated and spread in such a way!
