The last one commission ~ really like this piece. It was so exciting to design clothes, accessories and a crown! “Song of Ice and Fire” lore, Cassandra Baratheon with original character!

Nothing says more "Like father, like daughter" to me than the moment when Alicent did to Aegon II what Otto did to Viserys: encourage them to remarry in hopes that they will have sons with their new wives, thus leaving aside the children they had with their firsts.

In Fire and Blood it is stated that Alicent was the one who approved Aegon II's new match, and there's also the fact that Cassandra Baratheon (Aegon II's future bride) was also 14-16 arround the time of her bethrodal.

If you think about it, Alicent was about to condemn Jaehaera to the same hell she made Rhaenyra go through: being stuck with a step-mother who would hate her very existance and see her as nothing more than an obstacle.

Lady Cassandra Baratheon of Storm's End

Heir to her warrior father Borros Baratheon, Lady Cassandra had a weapon in her hand the moment she could walk. Lord Borros knew that a son was unlikely to grace he and his lady wife, so he began to prepare his eldest for her one day ascension. Lady Cassandra eventually wed Bryndemere of Tarth, and they ruled the Stormlands when her father was away fighting in the Dance of Dragons under King Aegon II's banner. After Borros' death in battle, Cassandra ascended to the seat and assumed command of the armies alongside her husband. A strong and furious girl, every bit the Storm Queen that Argella Durrandon never had the chance to be.

The Four Storms Headcanons for my fic

Cassandra Baratheon

Called "Cass" by her sisters and "Cassie" by her mother, Elenda

She is the eldest sister at twenty years old but her speech and manners make her seem older

She is jealous of her bastard older brother and worries her father Borros will name him heir before her mother, Elenda, has a son

When she was young she often took care of her sisters as a result she no longer wants to have children after having to already raise them

She has never forgiven her parents for not allowing her to be a member of the court in King's Landing and believes she could have charmed then married Aegon the 2nd had they let her go

Maris Baratheon

She is closest to her sister, Cassandra, and as children they were as thick as thieves

While she is considered by many to be less beautiful than her sisters, it is mostly based around her unconventional clothing and sharp tongue which insults more often than not

Though Borros never admits it, Maris is his favorite child

She likes to read fervently and will ramble on to anyone who will listen about her books

Sometimes she taunts potential suitors to get a reaction out of them, knights have had to get involved in the past

Ellyn Baratheon

Her companion wherever she goes is a black and grey cat she calls Edric

She would be Aemond's favorite due to her gentle and kind disposition which reminds him of Alicent and Helaena

Despite her best efforts, Ellyn is often forgotten compared to her sisters

While she is shy and generally cautious, the first time she saw Vhagar she was in awe

Deep down she wishes to leave Storm's End and become her own person separate from her family

Floris Baratheon

Due to being showered with compliments since she was a small child, Floris is slightly vain

Her mother Elenda considers Floris her favorite child

She loves to wear flowers as accessories

For fun, Floris enjoys dancing, singing, and watching the knights in Storm's End while they duel

Floris was secretly happy that the betrothal with Aemond didn't occur because she is scared of having children young and of going through the pain her mother goes through by trying for a son

It’s actually so sad that despite already losing two children, Aegon was so willing to have his last child passed over as his heir. He just can’t fathom the idea of having his daughter be his successor (whether in her own right or through a marriage to Aegon III). He would much rather create new heirs through his anticipated marriage to his betrothed, Cassandra. Those new heirs in question of course being sons.

I can’t even imagine how Jaehaera must’ve felt about her own father essentially wanting to replace her.

Aegon II beat and attempted to maim the future Aegon III (and undoubtedly would have gone further had he not been poisoned by Corlys Velaryon and Larys Strong).

He didn't beat Aegon nor have him beaten, but he did threaten and was willing to castrate or cut off his ear. The first to make sure that Rhaenyra's "line" will end (none of them knew Viserys was alive) and the 2nd to threaten Rhaenyra's remaining fighting supporters.

But yes, as you say, he would have gone further.
