It's the fact that as the Headmaster is helping Atsushi, he's telling him he despises him. It's the fact that the Headmaster says he'll be gone after today. It's the fact that Atsushi doesn't blame himself for what happened to him anymore, and it's because of that realization that the Headmaster can finally leave him alone. It's the fact that Akutagawa realizes that he doesn't care about Dazai anymore, he cares about Atsushi and the lesson that Atsushi was trying to teach him, at the same time Atsushi is learning the lesson that Akutagawa was trying to teach him—that he shouldn't blame himself for his past, just because of the Headmaster. It's the fact that Akutagawa heard him when he was a vampire. It's the fact that their souls are fundamentally connected through everything. It's That Which Drives Us to Act: A Mysterious Thing Called the Heart.

I just love how genuine, honest and straightforward Lee Jaheon is. It isn't like he could refute what was revealed when Soleum pressed the "We Can Help!" button, but it is his blunt confirmation of the fact that does it for me. The same goes for when he explicitly says he can’t answer a question from Soleum when he’s not at liberty to do so.

Now, to the important questions... Sweet lizard, are you the one who designed the flashy website? Also, are you the one who stocks Soleum's supplies and gives him various discounts in the shop?

Can we just talk about how far these two have come from the beginning of the series? At the beginning, Atsushi hated himself, wished himself dead, not because he didn't want to live, but because he didn't think he deserved to. He blamed himself for everything happened to him, as if it his fault and he deserved it.

But not anymore. The biggest thing about what he says in this chapter is that he no longer blames himself. He finally realized that he's a victim, and nothing that happened to him was his fault. It was the fault of the Headmaster, who hurt him. He didn't deserve what happened to him, and he hates the headmaster for hurting him. And it takes until this moment for the Headmaster to tell Atsushi he can leave him now. He finally realized where his own worth came from. And at the same time, after seeing what happened to Akutagawa, he asks "Why? Why us?" Why did this have to happen to people like them? Because Atsushi knows that the fault doesn't lie with him. That was what Akutagawa was saying, wasn't it? That saving others isn't going to get him approval to live. That reliving his old past was useless. That he can finally get rid of the Headmaster, because his philosophy isn't what's going to allow him to live. It comes from himself.

And Akutagawa, finally realizing when he thinks he's about to die, that he no longer needs Dazai's approval. That strength is meaningless, it doesn't prove anything. With how many flashbacks we're getting to Akutagawa's death, it makes me wonder if he felt strongest in the moment he was dying for Atsushi. That now he knows that it doesn't matter how powerful he is, it's not what's going to make him strong. And that Atsushi was the one who was able to teach him that lesson. That strength comes from himself, and not the approval of a certain someone. Guys this makes me ill

Thoughts on TBHK Chapter 123

Well chapter 123 is finally here and to my surprise it seems that we DON'T have a cover card for the Newest chapter this time, which is surprisingly a 1st if I do say so myself, anyway the Chapters finally here and judging by the 1st couple pages it looks like yashiro's no longer playing around and sugar coating things, like she's ACTUALLY ready to go back in time and fix everything, omg let's see what shenanigans/torture aidairo has in store for us today 😅

AHHHHHH our little heroine has all grown up, she's become so badass now Omg aida I'm loving this, oh and best believe I WILL be coloring panel one day

getting strong Cheshire cat vibes from this guy Ngl, also a bit of coralines cat as well which makes sense considering tbhk to me is BASICALLY, Madoka magica mixed with coraline, mixed with noragmi, mixed with spirited away, mixed with tim burton shit lol. Oh yeah baby I totally can't wait for the next chapter, things are DEFINITELY getting interesting now, let's see.. yashiro's resolve is growing more and more, aidairo is in their studio ghibli phase for some reason but oh well it definitely works tho, Akane's sacrifice might NOT be in vain, we met a VERY interesting character and of course, the clock keepers boundary looks absolutely effing beautiful (getting a Christmasy feel as a matter of fact) yeah totally can't wait for the next one, I'm really interested in seeing where thos goes, as always see you in 1 month ^^
