This is the version of Chandlar that appeared in the 1993 series Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero, although it was called "Chondra" in the episode it appeared in. It is also known as Powered Chandlar, because it appeared in Ultraman Powered's series, and to differentiate it from the original Chandlar which it hardly resembles.

Claudio and Chondra struggle to understand the other’s feelings on their missing brother. A killdeer puts on a show. A deer runs from headlights.

Claudio doesn’t understand Chondra.

He’s made that clear a million times, even when Chondra yells at him to stop saying it out loud. He promises he doesn’t mean it in a bad way. That it’s just a fundamental misunderstanding of their two personalities clashing. He says he doesn’t take it personally, so really, Chondra, she shouldn’t either.

Claudio is lying when he says that.

It’s not a bad lie. Bad liars don’t lie the way he does. He lies to protect his family, his little sister. He lies to distract from what could hurt Chondra or their relationship. It’s not a bad thing that he doesn’t tell her how his heart sinks when she skirts around the topic of their brother A███. It certainly isn’t harmful that he doesn’t tell her how he bites his tongue and grinds his teeth when she deliberately, openly, happily rejects any pity people place on them when he shares the story of their brother.

But lying is tiring and Claudio isn’t sure he can do it anymore.

Where is the love? He asks himself that question every day he looks at Chondra. He half-heartedly brings up twin powers during their arguments, but to be honest, he doesn’t really believe in that anymore. No, no, what Claudio believes in is love. Love is what drives him to keep searching for A███, it’s what drives him to search and lie, to protect and distract. He’s been doing it for years, all for love. That’s what family’s for, he says. To love without ever giving up.

Claudio promises he will lie and distract until one day it eats him up from the inside. He’ll lead it away, limping and spitting at it, until his family can’t see him. That day he’ll give in to the love that towers over him, and he’ll watch it consume him with unending fury. All the while, maybe Chondra and A███ will be together again, and they can live their life without such troubles. Because Claudio is a good brother. He is their family, and he will do what it takes to keep them alive and loving.

Claudio doesn’t understand why Chondra wouldn’t do the same for him.

Chondra understands Claudio.

She really does, almost to an annoying degree. She knows that love drives all men mad, until they’re doing all kinds of false displays just to say hey, I love better than you, you can just see it oozing out of me. Chondra sees it in Claudio, how he’ll tell the story of their brother A███’s disappearance. Oh, how he’ll let out that subtle cry of his, he’ll curl up his false-broken wing and drink up the slobbering pity of anyone who cares to listen.

Why does he expect her to do the same? Chondra misses A███ despite what Claudio seems to believe. The nights she spent wondering about what the two of them would be like if he was still around still ambush her on the most random nights. But she shakes those thoughts off and keeps running through life as she’s meant to do. She won’t let a long-gone brother drag her through the past.

Trust that Chondra’s weighed the risks. She watches how Claudio feigns an air of self-sacrifice over all the years. The flyers along the walls of his record shops are just another delicate family member to protect. Every time she looks at the boy in the image, searches his face for features she’s sure they once shared but have faded with age, she feels that love and she knows it puts her at risk. I can’t be like Claudio, Chondra tells herself.

So, she isn’t. I won’t be fawning over anyone anymore, Chondra told herself after one too many lies. And she’s stuck with it through the years, regardless of Claudio’s grinding teeth or broken wings. She wishes that one day she won’t have to fight so hard against it, or that one day she won’t have to run through existence like she would drop dead if she didn’t.

But more than that, Chondra wishes that Claudio would stop the lying act he puts on every day of every year. That he looks like a good brother, while she’s the stubborn girl, deer in headlights, unmoving and unloving.

Chondra doesn’t understand why Claudio won’t do this for her.
