Sweets & Aromas Islands:

400 miles southeast off the coast of Sugar Rush, the Sweets & Aromas Islands consists of 16 islands, each named after a racer or dessert or candy. Its inhabitants are us creators, believe it or not.

History:

These islands are originally colonised by King Candy, named the Speed & Rusher Islands by the man himself. However, since that, he basically forgot about the existence of these islands, until President Vanellope saw these islands once again. She gave them freedom to choose whether or not to remain an overseas territory or be independent. However, since the islands are so far away from the mainland, the creators unanimously agreed to remain an overseas territory. They renamed the islands and got a flag of their own (which I will draw in the future), and since then, they live in peace.

Jubileena: *speaks aloud* Huh, I forgot we even had these oversea territories...

*Jubileena isn't alone though, as Lucas sits by her on her couch, crocheting a duck plushie*

Lucas: *he perks up* Sugar Rush has oversea territories?

Jubileena: Yeah, we did! Of course, we didn't exactly hear of it until after King Candy announced his discovery of them, but- *she then notices Lucas giving her a look* -Oh, right. I keep forgetting you.. weren't around for King Candy's reign....

Lucas: *he continues his crochet* It's ok, mi fruta. Although I would have liked it if the developers put so much work into my scraped town like they did these distant islands...

Citrusella: *she walks down from the hall, blowing bubbles as she chews her gum. She speaks between chews* Well- whatever the case- it's cool to hear they have been holdin' up well. *She plops herself on an armchair, popping a loud bubble. Lucas and Jubileena flinched in response* Now, are we gonna keep talking about politics, or are we gonna watch a movie?

Jubileena: Right, right! *She placed her paper on the end table, and she picks up the remote.*

*The three spend the rest of the time debating viewing options*

Fruitina Sweetblossom (Citrusella Flugpucker)

A confident racer, Fruitina is also equal parts brave and hardworking, and never hesitates to stop for fellow racers that need help. Underneath this kind nature lurked a number of insecurities and feeling she was beneath the others. The lack of her own fans, grandstands and flag made her feel incredibly left out, as though she was nothing more than filler needed to complete the roster. At one point she had considered speaking to King Candy about her troubles, but decided against it after seeing the treatment he incited against Vanellope for being a Glitch. After the game’s reset, her personal track also doubled as her home, where she’d grow a variety of fruits in her downtime and share them with her friends when they were ready.

My take on this character was inspired by a popular headcanon back in 2013-2014, which talked about how the 4 palette swap racers were the products of the game being hacked. Prior to it, they had identities just as unique as their fellow racers. These designs and profile below are my own idea on what these former identities were and what they return to after Sugar Rush gets reset.

In this AU, the game was plugged in 2010 instead of 1997, and had been active for just a day before Turbo took over. When he tampered with the game’s code, an unintended side effect caused the girls to take on the appearances of the racers they were hanging out with at the time, turning them into their palette swaps.

CATCHING MY BREATH, STARING OUT AN OPEN WINDOW

Ellory Citrine is based on Citrusella from Wreck It Ralph. They are a 23 year old human, fruit designer, and uses she/they pronouns. She has no powers. Ellory is portrayed by Kaylee Kaneshiro and they are open.

CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE

Racing was in their blood. Ellory was born to a superstar on the track, a household name to anyone that knew anything of the sport, and --- as she was told --- one of his biggest fans. Unfortunately, Ellory never got to meet him. Her mother was only three months pregnant when she awoke in Evermore... without her husband. Growing up she felt his absence, the longing in her mom’s voice every time she would talk about him. And she talked about him all the time. They never felt like he was a stranger, despite not seeing even one picture of him, with all of the stories they were told. And it turned out the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Their mother insisted that Ellory was the spitting image of him, both in looks and personality... and hobbies. She got into racing out of curiosity, an itch to be closer to her father wherever he was in the world, and they were hooked from the very first race. It was easy to see why it was his main passion and, even from an unbiased opinion, it quickly became theirs. As time went on and they started to make friends, their mother began to settle more into town, seeming to accept the possibility that they would never be leaving so she needed to put her roots down. She left her job to open an edible arrangements store, moved the two of them out of their little apartment to a house on the outskirts of town, but she always refused to date. Always hopeful that one day her long lost husband would find her way back to them. It was... sad, really, but Ellory admired their mother’s loyalty and her strength, raising them all alone in a strange town miles away from friends and family, and being affectionate and supportive throughout it all. It was strange to think that no matter what happened in life she was probably stuck here, so she didn’t let herself think about it much. She helped her mother with work, gossiped with friends, and tried to accept that no matter how much they loved racing, they would never be able to reach their dad’s status behind these city limits.

❀ Kimi Watanabe-Finster: One of her best friends outside of the track and favorite customer to make arrangements for, Kimi knows next to nothing about racing or cars in general, but they adore her for it. ❀ Liam McQueen: Ellory has found herself wanting to approach Liam and question if he knew her father, seeing as he seemed to stop showing up in races completely after their mother woke up in Evermore... but she’s been too nervous. Especially being such a big fan of his. ❀ Stella Wipple: Stella has had a hold on Ellory ever since she blew into town roughly six years ago. Not only is she pretty, she’s cool, and they are becoming painfully aware the way they feel may not be just platonic.

Day #7: Snow

Ah, look at all that ice cream snow! The air was fresh and crisp, perfect for a day out in the snow. And Vanellope came back to town, what could be all the better?

As the children were about, taking part in the usual snow day activities, Vanellope was actively talking to Taffyta about how life is so much better in Slaughterrace while she scooped up and shaped snowballs ready for throwing. Taffyta felt the need to roll her eyes as Vanellope kept rubbing in how this punk gang of racers was much nicer than they ever were. Of course, Vanellope only intends to tease Taffyta, not to make her feel bad.

Speaking of “feel bad”, Citrusella thought it would be funny to fling snowballs at the antagonists of the game, but she forgot the Wafer lass has a severe milk allergy. Uh-oh…
