1. How many works in progress do you have?

-groans- I have an ongoing urge to add things to everything but in the “actively working on finishing this shit” folder we have: Subfolder Fanfiction: Solid Fluidity, Trifecta, Lyrium Skin, and some vague projects about krogan and also The Way Up. In the subfolder Original Fiction we have: Tempting The Dragon, Shifterwolves and there is that viking story The Braided Smith still waiting all the way in the back.

2. Do you/would you write fan fiction?

Yes I do!

3. Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

I like paperbooks for the quick “wait, what was that name again?” function and how they always fall open on my favorite parts. But I love ebooks for their portability, the font-size adjustments, the background coloring, the search function and how I have 700 books with me on my phone at all times.

4. When did you start writing?

I know that I wrote horse-stories on a mechanical typewriter when I was 12 or 13 maybe? School essays were easy too. Did some blogging after 2000. But I really started writing in 2012 at 43 when I wrote my first porn.

5. Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

No one in carbon space around me as of yet. But I love talking with people online about writing and sharing works. And Readers who comment are just the best.

6. Where is your favorite place to write?

Somewhere where nobody bothers me. Those places are rare.

7. Favorite book as a child?

Do you know how long ago that was? I know I read Enid Blyton a lot and pretty much every book with horses I could get my hands on. I know I read through the horse section at our city library in its entirety. Then the fantasy section. I think I moved to YA then, back then those books, at least here in Germany, were mostly books about the sexual awakening of young women.

8. Writing for fun or publication?

Both. That’s the hope/idea/promise to myself at least.

9. Have you taken any writing classes?

Not really. Creative writing was not something I could take at school and I went on to study environmental engineering so that doesn’t have much of writing classes either. But I have used every free resource I can find, namely and highly recommending here the Brandon Sanderson writing classes on youtube: [Class2012], [Class2013], [Class 2014], [Class2015], [Class2016]. 

10. What inspired you to write?

I recently asked myself that when I was asked if writing is even fun for me. I can whine a lot about writing. But I’m still so glad to have discovered that this is a thing I can do and that people like reading it and that my interpretation of a character can give another person something to think about. That’s pretty cool!

Feedback. Without those reviews and comments on my stuff, I would have given up long ago. Hell, I wouldn’t even have started, the first thing I wrote was supposed to be a one-shot and now it’s at 250k words.

I think, back when I started, the inspiration was “I can do this better.” So I guess my reason for writing is spite.

Gifts Your Graduate Will Smile About

Graduation is over, and it's time for your teen’s next big adventure.  College is in the very near future.  We want to make our graduates feel special, and we also want to be sure we give them great gifts.  Since the list of traditional graduate gifts is endless, it gets a little confusing.   Picture frames, monogrammed 'Class of' items, senior engraved keepsakes and the like are all great.  However, they may not be useful past the sentimental value of the item.

If your graduate is headed for college, consider gift cards.  You can make them more personal by doing your research.   Check out popular, local eateries in the coinciding college town, and purchase gift cards for these businesses. Consider a gift certificate to the campus bookstore so they're able to purchase what they will need for classes.  Check out the favorite local team store and give a gift certificate for great game day wear.   Don't forget gas gift cards.  Keep in mind many students are on a strict budget.  For some, it's their first move towards independence. A few local gift cards will definitely be appreciated!

How about something that's really different?  Consider a SELJE bedside table. Sometimes a student simply wants to fit in, and feel good about themselves. College students are more conscious about their appearances than ever before. They truly want to be more confident in their smile.  One way to do this through cosmetic dentistry.

Whitening teeth is one of the more popular and affordable cosmetic procedures available.  There are many over the counter products available that promise great results, but it's best to professional advice before this procedure.  Many make the mistake of using whitening products at an earlier age than is recommended.  Your dentist will advise as to whether permanent teeth have fully grown.  If a portion of the tooth remains below the gum surface, the result may be discoloration at the gum line if the tooth continues to grow after the whitening procedure.
