Kendall really did turn into Logan, just without the company. Doomed to spend his last days alone without his family. The only person around being his fathers bodyguard as he thinks of death and the future alone.

Logan interrupts Colin when he mentions his own dad because, yes, it was never about wanting Colin’s opinion but instead wanting an audience for his Deep Thoughts. But also I don’t think Logan likes the idea of his close subordinates having anyone meaningful in their lives besides him, especially now that the kids have abandoned him. He demands complete and utter fealty, and even reminding Logan that Colin might have an attachment of his own -- even to his father -- is enough to make Logan want to speed past it. His employees aren’t people, even if he calls them his best pals. They’re economic units, like everyone else, only they’re his economic units. He doesn’t like sharing his toys.
