When sending in submissions, please include which Benedict Cumberbatch character you want along with what you want them to say.
Please do your best to use good grammar! It’s okay if you have some mistakes, I can (and will) fix any grammar issues when making the post with your submission!
I’m iffy about doing sensual posts for the real people Benedict Cumberbatch has played (Alan Turing from The Imitation Game, Bill Bulger from Black Mass, Stephen Hawking from Hawking, and Louis Wann from The Electrical Life of Louis Wann) so I may not allow submissions for those characters. I will not allow submissions for Paul Marshall (Benedict’s rapist character in Atonement). Benedict’s other characters (yes, even the animal/creature characters) are fair game though!
Despite the blog’s name and description of being sensual, I do accept SFW submissions as well as NSFW submissions!

A Blackhawk, Adder, Mad Dog, Dragonfly and Summoner from my Ghost Bear unit, the Clawtake.
Newly minted Star Commander Jehan recognized in the early days of Operation: Revival that the strict traditions of the Clans were a hindrance in the fight against the Inner Sphere, and that should the Clans be successful they would need to integrate Spheroid warriors, with their own traditions and tactics, into Clan Toumans.
His opinion was sufficiently well argued, and the ensuing trials sufficiently well-fought that he was instructed to form a unit to beat the Spheroids at their own game. His initial star was filled with Warriors almost of Sohlama age, with the intent being that they would be replaced with Abtahka.
The plan worked, and the unit came to be known as the Clawtake, after the trophies claimed after a successful Clawing ritual. Furthermore, it led to Jehan being promoted as the unit grew and sponsored to the MacKenzie Bloodright.
It was only after the fact that my spouse pointed out I'd painted them in the colours of the Asexual Flag.

These sound fun. Ask away
So my problem with most ‘get to know your character’ questioneers is that they’re full of questions that just aren’t that important (what color eyes do they have) too hard to answer right away (what is their greatest fear) or are just impossible to answer (what is their favorite movie.) Like no one has one single favorite movie. And even if they do the answer changes.
If I’m doing this exercise, I want 7-10 questions to get the character feeling real in my head. So I thought I’d share the ones that get me (and my students) good results:
What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)
What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)
What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)
Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory)
What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some *emotional* backstory in.)
Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)
Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)
Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)
What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.)
What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.)

Coyote Tales of the Comanche
Coyote tales of the Comanche feature the same trickster figure as the Coyote tales of the Shasta nation, the Coyote tales of the Apache, and those of many other Native peoples of North America. Coyote, the most famous trickster figure of Native American lore, appears in the stories of many different nations, usually as the main character, encouraging transformation.

Sometimes he plays a supporting role in the stories, but even then, Coyote serves as an agent of change. This change can be as simple as teaching the White Man how easy it is to be cheated (as in A Trickster Tale, below) or as dramatic as trying to divide the sun between the daytime animals and nighttime animals (Why the Bear Waddles When He Walks) or, sometimes, it is the trickster who is tricked, as in The Eye-Juggler. Even in stories where Coyote loses – or dies – the story emphasizes the concept of life-as-change. As with the Coyote tales of other nations, the Coyote tales of the Comanche are among the most popular.
Comanche History & Culture
Comanche is the Spanish version of an Ute word for "enemy" (kimantsi or kohmahts); the Comanche refer to themselves as Numunuh ("the People"). They were originally associated with the Eastern Shoshone (Shoshoni) nation of the Great Basin and were a hunter-gatherer society but differed from many others in that women, as well as men, hunted. The Comanche believe in a single Supreme Being, Pahah (Paha), Creator and Sustainer of Life, who is helped by various spirits, each with their own sphere of responsibility. As with other Native American nations, the Comanche also hold that the universe is inhabited by many unseen entities which sometimes make themselves known and walk among the people, including Coyote.
Eventually, those who became known as Comanche broke off from the Shoshone and migrated south to the regions of modern-day Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, which became known as Comancheria ("Land of the Comanche") by c. 1770. The Comanche are understood as the first Native Americans to fully master and utilize the horse, and, by 1795, they were breeding and selling horses. They became as well-known for their horses as for their warriors and skill in warfare.

During the Comanche Wars (1706-1875), the Comanche fought off incursions by Spanish, Mexican, and Euro-American forces while conducting raids against their settlements. The Comanche increased in wealth and power through warfare and trade in slaves and horses and, most likely, would have continued to hold off the Euro-American expansion of the 19th century if not for outbreaks of smallpox, measles, and cholera in 1817 and 1848, which killed over half the population.
Their resistance, already weakened by these losses, was broken in 1874 after their defeat (along with their Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Kiowa allies) at the Battle of Palo Duro Canyon and then the destruction of at least 1,500 Comanche horses by order of Colonel Ranald Mackenzie of the US Army. The Comanche surrendered in 1875 and were relocated to Indian Territory (modern-day Oklahoma).
Their best-known chief, Quanah Parker (l. c. 1845-1911), son of Cynthia Ann Parker, a Euro-American captured as a girl by the Comanche, worked to maintain the traditional culture while accommodating the demands of the US government. He argued for freedom of religion for his people in maintaining the Native American Church and its use of peyote in rituals as well as the maintenance of the Comanche language and culture. His efforts were continued by others, and, today, Comanche culture, language, and religion remain intact, including their stories like the three given below.

Coyote tales of the Comanche are similar to the Coyote tales of other nations, and there is considerable borrowing between their tales and those of the Apache in particular. The same is true of many Native American trickster figures, however, and a reader acquainted with Manabozho tales of the Ojibwe, Glooscap tales of the Wabanaki Confederacy, the Iktomi tales of the Sioux, or Wihio tales of the Cheyenne will recognize the same themes of transformation, illusion vs. reality, and the shifting roles of the central character in the Comanche Coyote tales.

Since yesterday, here in the Republic, we've been celebrating nonstop. First, we paid tribute to #Samshine, Saint Sam (our patron saint of whiskey), a being of light we venerate, on his 45th birthday. There was a great party, as you can see, and we didn't miss the opportunity to admire the dancing prowess (?), the lightness of the feet of this "ridiculous human being" despite being a bulky man. A crime on the dance floor, as the song goes. Luckily, Colonel "Grease Lightning" Fraser, in a #TwinMoment from episode 4 of #Season5, does it better (...we guess...Queen, don't laugh anymore!!) To him, JAMES ALEXANDER MALCOM MACKENZIE FRASER (#JAMMF), our beloved #KingOfEverything, we also sang #FeliFeliEnTuDia after midnight and blew out 304 candles!!! A thousand thanks to him for his simplicity, his loyalty, his beauty, his tenderness, his values, and his unconditional love for his Queen, his family, his land, and his men. And a thousand thanks more to Sam for bringing to life this character who has our neurons on fire and whose mark is etched in our souls. Let the celebrations continue!!!!!

Star Colonel Jehan MacKenzie, reporting for duty, Commanding General. I understand we are still tasked with taking the dropport, in concert with Star Captain Tseng and her bondsmen? Also, I do not suppose I could sit? It has been a long run from Kinship, and my ribs are complaining vociferously.
Certainly, Jehan, please, come in.

Wahoo!! Happy (almost) New Year, and happy retrospective listmaking season!! I had an insane year for movies (308 this year, and 297 new to me), and a ton of trouble narrowing them down to 90 new favorites, much less nine, so I'm giving myself a cheater's runners-up list below the cut -- all of which might as well be on my top 9, too. Links go to letterboxd:

A Woman is a Woman (1961), dir. Jean-Luc Godard
Daisies (1966), Věra Chytilová
Grand Illusion (1937), dir. Jean Renoir
As for runners-up: most any of these could have ended up in my top 9. They're all amazing, or had a strong impact on me, or were affecting or fascinating in some way -- and I'm still leaving off an unbelievable number. Anyway, here they are, in no order:

The Crowd (1928), dir. King Vidor

On 13th April 1719 a small Spanish force landed in Loch Duich, close to what is now Kyle of Lochalsh.
The little known ‘Little Rising’, saw a force of 300 Spanish soldiers land and combine with less than a thousand Highlanders, under George Keith, the 10th Earl of Marischal, William Mackenzie, the 5th Earl of Seaforth Lord George Murray and John Cameron of Lochiel.
The plan had been hatched by King Philip of Spain and Italian Cardinal Alberoni as a diversion to help in the campaign to restore Spanish power and territories ceded to the British following the Treaty of Utrecht. The Spanish force should have been much larger, but much of it had been destroyed by a storm. Added to this Highlanders did not join the Jacobites in the expected numbers, However, they made their base at Eilean Donan Castle and intended to capture Inverness.
Unfortunately, Hanoverian ships shelled the castle and the only notable battle was at Glen Shiel two months later when the Jacobites were defeated by a Government army led by General Joseph Wightman.
A wee added note to this, it was during this time that Eilean Donan was destroyed by Government ships shelling it, the ruined castle was abandoned until 1912 when it was purchased by Lieutenant-Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap. Rebuilding was undertaken between 1914 and 1932 and it was at this time that a bridge was built to link the island to the shore.
The pic shows how the castle looked in the two centuries between these events and the restoration, the second is a gif by my friend Andrew Spratt of a reconstruction with original Barmkin wall mock-up over a recent photo.

🏆⛓️🔮 for Jehan!
You ask if I am Bloodnamed, and to this I answer that I was sponsored to the MacKenzie Bloodhouse shortly before the Trial of Tukayyid, on the strength of the successes I had using the tactics of Spheroid warriors against them.
You ask if I have taken many Bondsmen and to this I answer that it is the strength of the Clawtake that many of our warriors are Abtahka, former bondsmen taken from the finest warriors to stand against us.
As for my opinion of the Inner Sphere, I find that the Spheroids dwell amidst an embarrassment of riches, that their leadership seem intent on squandering. It is a far cry from the careful husbandry of resources that the Great Father insisted the Clans practice.
I hope this answers your questions, Quiaff?

Incoming transmission from UrbanMech UM-R99 (Gretzky): Hey Star Colonel! Agent told me ‘bout this ‘ask’ thing you lot are getting up to in the field. Lemme in on a slice of the puck! 2, 8 and 10?
I am not sure I would refer to it as "In the Field", Mechwarrior. As I prefer not to be distracted when actually deployed. Something about it making it easier to not die. However.
With regards to number 2, my grooming routine. It is nothing particularly unusual, amongst a Clan touman. When circumstances permit I bathe regularly. I do not use any special cleansers. However, I do take some care to ensure my hair and beard are combed, and often braided, and that the contact patches for my neurohelmet are clear.
As for number 8, as commander of my Trinary, I have my own cabin on our dropship, the Nanulak. It is small, a single bunk and a desk, but I have made it mine. There is a pelt I hunted and tanned myself, a wild felinoid indigenous to Alshain, in addition to the standard issue blankets. One of my Pilots sketches in charcoal; I have a set of sketches of my Command Star that they did displayed above the desk. My personal weapons are kept in a safe built into the desk, a privilege of my rank, as the rest of the command are required to keep their weapons in the armoury. My other belongs are in storage, where they can be retrieved if I have a prolonged deployment planetside, but this is a relatively rare occurence.
For your final query, question 10, the only article that I have on my person at all times is a communicator. If deployed planetside, I will also carry my issue sidearm, as well as a dirk on my belt, in case our facility is infiltrated. I am competent with both, indeed, I used the dirk during my Clawing ritual.
And now a question for you. I am not familiar with the R99 variant of the venerable Urbanmech. Is it one of the newer beam-armed versions, the Davion Suburbanmech, or?

Not looking forward to having to remake this...uniform for my JAGSims stories.

For those of you who recognize it, that is the cap brim of a Navy "commander/captain".
At one point, I also had created a naval uniform as well.

with the rank of fleet admiral and corresponding proper caps as well.

These were on the computer that went belly up and I'm hoping that I can recover them from the hard-drive on it. If not, it's going to be a long laborious process to be able to remake them again and I'm not sure I can locate the images that would allow me to re-do that without some considerable expense. In fact, I may have to purchase some 3D assets that have been created by others and start playing in Milk-shape. The reason I swiped the Sims 3 (military) Air Force officer's cap that was already present in Sims 3 was because it was there and the mesh was there to work with allowing me to add all the details needed to truly make a military uniform adding the "scanned" decals. I made a whole series of military uniforms with differing insignia and decorations, making each one of them different according to my JAG characters individual ranks and those were the uniforms that I'd saved.

@kosmokhaos's military salute came in handy for this pose. Thanks for making that pose pack.
My Sim was a "Fleet Admiral" (four thin stripes, one thick admiral's stripe; a rank not used much nowadays - the United States makes it only potentially usable during a full-scale world war). But the five-star rank is no longer active with the top-end being an O-10 (4-star).

And he also has the "Joint Chiefs of Staff" badge under what is known as his awards rack (ribbon rack).

Looking in closer, you can see that he has the Naval aviator wings. I really wanted to mesh a replacement (but I don't have those kind of skills - a gold set of Navy wings with a plumbob instead of the American shield in front of the anchor bearing outstretched wings. My sim, following JAG, and its lovely little story-line was a member of the USN and a high-ranking one at that, wearing the Medal of Honor, noted in a story called
...back when the character was a "Lieutenant Commander" and was battle-field promoted to a Commander after the incident where he was nominated for the Medal of Honor. I really wish I was good at meshing, but it's a fore-gone conclusion that my brain isn't up to the task - still sorting that out with the doctor (learning disabilities - such as dyslexia/dyscalculia...suspected (the cost of getting a formal diagnosis puts it out of range at this point)).
Free 3D assets have been found like

That would work great for the (top) Ensign-Lieutenant Commander ranks and the (bottom) Rear Admiral (Lower Half) to Fleet Admiral ranks. But I haven't been able to find the Commander/Captain ranks USN Officer's Cap. This is a photo of a REAL Commander/Captain's cap (from WWII)

which is the one I would be looking (for a more modern one that is), for my character (Commander Toshio M. Nakamura).
On my original "Kimber Benton" character she is a Navy Captain at the time of THIS picture, she does have on the proper cap with the

proper scrambled eggs on the brim. That's what makes the Navy ranks so complicated to put. If I really wanted to give myself a major headache, I'd also put the Air Force and Army in as well (but JAG was primarily a Navy show and quite frankly, the US Marines and the US Navy were the only two services that got quite a bit of airtime).

Of course, the next time that I do that uniform (if I have to redo them), I want to make them more uniform in size. As you can see, I borked up on the Captain's stripes on Harm's uniform (the guy in the center - if you haven't watched the TV show). Those who are old enough to remember the show remember this character (far left): Major Sarah Mackenzie (on the show)...Colonel Sarah Mackenzie (in my story). Made from Audrey's Catherine Bell sim:

I'm eternally grateful to Audrey for making that sim because Mac's a pain-in-the-*** to re-create.
All the others I have now recreated (as best as my useless sim-creating talents can).
Kimber now looks like this:

Meg (from the show's first season) recreated as faithfully as I can with my useless sim-creation skills ended up looking like this.

As you can see my skills are no where near as good as Audrey's in the re-creation of a life-like Sim.

My skills at recreating life-like Sims from real people suck. Out of the newest sims, I think my Harm got the short end of the stick. Harm is the one to the right vs. My Harm, I created

Yeah, doesn't even look like the same guy.

My JAGSims offer me a way to enjoy the continuation of my favorite show and throw in some off-beat twists
But I digress, I need to get Photoshop Elements in order to be able to re-do these uniforms that I need for my stories and then I'll go ahead and start working on some JAG stories. However I will refrain from making actor Zois when I'm able to buy my gaming PC that will handle InZoi. As a former working photographer who did wildlife, I had to familiarize myself with copyright and other stuff like that. The life-like Zois that you can create in InZoi opens up a few interesting "likeness" issues as far as "Breach of Likeness" as far as copyright and "rights of use". If I create a lifelike Tracey Needham in InZoi and start writing stories with her, she could probably sue me for "Breach of Likeness" and "Infringement of her rights to her own image"...if she found out about it. That's the slippery slope we're at with copyright issues and creating life-like celebrity "Zoi". But anyways enough of boring you with legal ****. I'm hoping to get my TS3 Workshop working again once I get my Photoshop/Premiere Elements again.

...and maybe I'll manage to get the uniforms the way I want them to look again.
