#Complex poses and such

I’m trying to practice drawing stuff like side profiles (I suck balls at that lol) and character interactions / more complex poses and I’ve ended up with not one but TWO drawings of Eliana being mean to Cody lmao 😭

(Tw: by ‘being mean’ I mean being abusive lol)

The first one is sillier, (and a bit older) and the second one is a little more dramatic lol

Idk what I’m doing. I just like drawing my silly little guys. Sue me

Also can you tell that I do not have a colour pallet for them lol. I just pick random colours every time I draw my ocs

Yes. Eklutna. All the time. She was one of the cats who first discovered it, then after getting into a fight with the rest of Ghostclan over whether or not they should tell the other clans about the Black Water Pool she limped her bleeding ass there to give herself a blessing before she continued up the mountain to Loudclan. Now she's taken a dip while pregnant to get Starclan to bless her unborn kits, which is a BIG taboo. But what are the healers to do? How do you punish someone for participating too enthusiastically in your state sponsored religion? She's not the only one to ever do it, of course, she's just kinda the most egregious about it.

Your art is amazing and I admire how consistent your art is for characters! Could you share your process or a speed paint of your work?

Okay so first of all I’m not a professional, so keep this in mind while you read.

My process for a colored piece is very simple: sketch - refined sketch (lineart) - flat colors - shadows and lighting rough placement- rendering - final adjustments (+ a bit of chromatic aberration and noise)

Tricks I use: flip horizontally the canvas a lot of times while sketching - zoom out to see the whole canvas in a miniature (easy to spot mistakes) - put on a gray filter on the colored piece to see if the contrast is good - go away from the drawing for some time, come back to find the mistakes you couldn't see before - never do a piece in one day from start to finish - avoid tangents…

As long as I’m happy with the results lately, I see there’s much I could improve.
