screwdriver_bar: oh buddy. what a night.
thanks to @fontainesband for dj’ing (tom and curley played a perfect screwdriver fitting set) and the band, crew and @arcticmonkeys for coming down and raging and shredding the night away. amazing times. biblical times. hand in glove fit. obviously we’re massive fans of both and was fun to point out all the shit from both bands in the bar like a game of wheres waldo. we swapped screwdriver stories with their rock n roll yarns from their history….plus records, bars, clothes, cities but mostly, a shared love of rock n roll. plus it was massive fun reliving and talking about one of our favorite seattle shows from audience vs stage perspective of that wild 1st monkeys show at the crocodile in 2006 when they were underage.
one of the most memorable nights in screw history, the stars certainly aligned and the rock angels and devils were cheering and weeping from above and below.
thank you @bangbangmaxwelledison for gifting the boys some deep 45’s theyll never find anywhere and always representing as an official ambassador / liason / party starter.
thanks to all who came down.
it certainly got a little dusty when screwdriver was declared their favorite rock n roll bar in the world. 😭
special shout out to grian’s crazy sparkly tracksuit that was passed around and end up on jamie in the photo (Seattle, 9/22/23)

You shoulda heard me in the lounger
Telling people what they was
Spitting out all types of sugar
Just dying for a cause, cause, cause
A smiler slithered to my corner
On a face so true
My word is always in the ready
And I'll attribute that to you
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't wanna belong to anyone
You shoulda heard him in the bowery
Learning people with a tongue
Cut from second-hand cloth
Make the women feel young
I heard him serving as a soldier
In the annex of the earth
Threw himself before a bullet
And threw the metal to the dirt
Hear the man's word
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't wanna belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't wanna belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't belong to anyone
I don't wanna belong to anyone

Is there a frontman as captivating as Grian Chatten right now?

None can pull the passion loose from youth's ungrateful hands
As it stands, I'm about to make a lot of money
Gold harps in the pan
None can revolution lead with selfish needs aside
As I cried, I'm about to make a lot of money
Gold harps on the side
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real?
The winter evening settles down
The bruised and beat up open sky, six o'clock
The city in its final dress
And now a gusty shower wraps the grimy scraps
Of withered leaves all about your feet
And then the ringing of a twitching hand
Six o'clock, six o’clock
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
None can pull the passion loose from youth's ungrateful hands
As it stands, I'm about to make a lot of money
Gold harps in the pan
None can revolution lead with selfish needs aside
As I cried, I'm about to make a lot of money
Goes around and around and around
Oh ye boy, yeah
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
Is it too real for ya?
