The Dilemma Bulletin: Wednesday February 5th, 2025
Keeping you informed about the daily events of the Trump Administration
President Donald Trump held a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu where he reaffirmed his stance on forcing Palestinians to relocate to Egypt and Jordan and then occupying the Gaza Strip under United States control. Trump boasted that Gaza would be the “Riviera of the Middle East” This is a full on support of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.
Congressional Democrats held a press conference and protested In front of the US Treasury after Elon Musk and 6 college students unlawfully gained access to sensitive information and payment distribution systems. Multiple lawsuits against Musk are being filed as we speak.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) announce all packages and parcels from China and Hong Kong have been suspended until further notice. Reason is speculated to be because of Trump’s tariffs.
Republicans have introduced a bill in the House of Representatives to ban OSHA (The Occupational Safety and Health Administration) This department ensures workplace safety and health within the workforce.
Trump signs an Executive Order withdrawing the US from the United Nations Human Rights Council with further explorations in withdrawing from the United Nations altogether.
The White House is drafting up plans to eliminate the Department of Education. This would be detrimental to underrepresented communities who look to the DOE for protections against discrimination, civil rights and school funding. Dozens of employees have already been placed on leave.
President Donald Trump is exploring options to send American prisoners to El Salvador. This would remove Constitutional protections for prisoners which could ultimately lead them to be subject to various human rights abuses.
The CIA has offered buyouts to all federal employees. Trump continues to purge longtime federal employees from the government in unprecedented and unlawful ways.
All USAID federal employees could be placed on administrative leave as soon as Friday.
The Senate Finance Committee has voted to advance the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Dept of Health and Human Services. His confirmation now heads to the main Senate for a vote.

George Washington's October 3, 1789, Thanksgiving Day Proclamation.
Record Group 11: General Records of the United States GovernmentSeries: Presidential Proclamations
By the President of the United States of America
a Proclamation
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor - and whereas both houses of Congress have by their joint committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public Thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday this 26th day of November rest to be devoted by the People of the United States to the service of that great and glorious being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be- That we pray these all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks- for his kind case and protection of the People of this country previous to their becoming a nation- for the original and manifold mercies, and the favorable interposition of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war- for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed- for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted- for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our rational and other transgressions- to enable us all, whether in public or private stations to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually- to render our national government a blessing to all the People, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discretely and faithfully executed and obeyed- to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them good government, peace, and concord- to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us- and generally to grant unto all mankind back a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the city of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

The Democrats are so caught up in their own propaganda that they have totally lost all common sense. Demanding that a returning gang member who was deported, now Newsom is daring Trump to have him arrested for violating not just the immigration issue, but his oath to defend the Constitution. California Gov. Gavin Newsom is defiant in his stance on illegal immigration. Instead of prioritizing law enforcement or public safety and the people who actually can vote legally, Newsom has doubled down on protecting illegal immigrants and violent protestors. He has declared that they’re “just trying to live their lives and pay their taxes.”
His comments come as Los Angeles is amid a violent usurpation against the American people. These anti-ICE protestors have terrorized law enforcement and burned Los Angeles to the ground for the third day. All of that is OK, because then Newsom will ask for federal funds to rebuild the city. He is not just a disgrace, but this is precisely what our computer projected when I stood up last November at our World Economic Conference and shocked the audience with the forecast that the Democratic Party would split and collapse as did the Federalists during the 19th century.

A friend of a friend posted this to hatebook:
Annnnnnd.... He's back.
Musk left Washington to try to make a $100 Billion hostile takeover of OpenAI. It was a fail.
So he raced back to Washington to do damage control. Seems like his hostile takeover of the US government is in danger of failing too, after pushback from Judges.
And then he failed again, at a joint press conference with Trump today. He actually took over at one point, pushing Trump aside, to explain American democracy to the Press.
Oh BTW. We should mention that The Associated Press was not there. Trump banned them from the White House after they did not call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America, like he ordered them to do. Their reporter was turned away from the Oval Office.
It should be noted that The Associated Press is not an American newspaper, but an international organization of journalists and media sources that shares information. It is non-profit, receives no government funding, and has contributing reporters from every US state and from 100 other countries.
It should also be noted that while the US President can rename a location in his own country, the Gulf of Mexico is in international waters, and it IS the legal name that the WORLD knows it by. Since the Associated Press provides its services world-wide, THAT is how the Gulf should be referred to.
Anyway. Back to the press conference. Which apparently from now on will only be for press loyal to Trump. Not the Free Press. The First Amendment of the Constitution has been banned by Trump, along with the Associated Press.
And also apparently, along with democracy.
Seems like Trump and Musk have their OWN definition, and Musk expained that definition of democracy for the press.
"If the people cannot vote and have their will be decided by their elected representatives, in the form of the president and the Senate and the House, then we don't live in a democracy we live in a bureaucracy," said Musk.
Sooooo ...... Democracy is what ELECTED officials do, and that is GOOD.
But if UNELECTED officials do something, then they are a BUREAUCRACY, and that is BAD.
Um. Wait. Hold on.
Aren't YOU an unelected official, Elon? Isn't your DOGE organization a bureaucracy by your own definition?
No no no, says Musk. I was APPOINTED by Trump, who is an elected official. And then I was qualified to chose my workers. See?
Stop. Wait. Isn't EVERY Department head chosen by the president, and confirmed by elected representatives in the Senate? Aren't THEY qualified then to choose THEIR workers?
Apparently not. The reason everyone was in the Oval Office was because Trump was signing another Executive Order, which ordered that “agencies will undertake plans for large-scale reductions in force and determine which agency components (or agencies themselves) may be eliminated or combined because their functions aren’t required by law.”
(Musk specifically has the Department of Education and the Department of Labor in mind.)
Trump's Executive Order also said that agencies should “hire no more than one employee for every four employees that depart from federal service.”
Wait. Three quarters of the workers in EVERY department must go? No matter WHAT it is they do?
Oh. Trump said there are supposedly "plans" for exceptions when it comes to immigration, law enforcement and public safety. But those were not spelled out.
Maybe they are just "concepts of plans". Like Trump's concepts of plans for healthcare and FEMA and Social Security. Or maybe like foreign aid and farm grants, they'll just go poof, and disappear in a later whim. Who knows? Who cares?
Apparently quite a few judges, who are starting to push back. Hence the air of desperation and panic from Those Who Must Not Be Questioned.
U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, issued a stop order Friday on an unthought out plan to place thousands of USAID employees on leave. And the judge also agreed to block an order that would have forced the thousands of overseas USAID workers just 30 days to move their families and households back to the U.S.
The next day U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury Department records that contain sensitive personal data such as Social Security and bank account numbers for millions of Americans.
But there is some question if this order has been obeyed, or if the 19 year old kid that Musk ordered to ransack it the Treasury computers is still holding on to all the information he gathered.
Less than an hour after Musk and Trump concluded their joint "press conference" on Tuesday, a federal appeals court refused to halt a judge’s order requiring the Trump administration to release billions of dollars in federal grants and loans. States say the money remains frozen even after a court blocked a sweeping pause on federal funding.
Trump's Justice Department under Attorney General Pam Bondi, had argued that the sweeping lower court order to keep all federal grants and loans flowing was “intolerable judicial overreach.”
The Justice Department USED to be independent, working with all three separate and equal branches of government, the Judicial, Executive, and Legislative. It had authority to investigate any member of the three branches, including the president. And it did. It investigated Trump.
It will never do so again. Like the FBI, it is no longer an independent agency. And anybody who did their job investigating Trump has been purged.
That is Trump and Musk's idea of democracy. A bureaucracy run by Trump alone.
(Fb) in case you're wondering. Let everyone know that this is happening.

On the Pain of Female Suffering and the Ambiguity of Ethics
A few years ago, i ran into an acquaintance at a conference in another state and asked how she was doing. For the next hour or so, she opened up to me about the trauma she had experienced at the hands of her ex-husband. The situation was so bad, i couldn't sleep all night, and i cried when i processed the depth of her pain. Every time anyone brings up her ex- who is now a social media star- all i can think about is the pain in her eyes when she described what she went through. There was an issue he was struggling with that was at the center of their problems, but that isn't what i take issue with; those sins are between him and God, and i have no doubt they've been forgiven and atoned for. What disturbs me is that he subjected her to an extreme level of emotional abuse, completely shattered her self-esteem and mental health, and began their entire marriage on a foundation of deceit, leaving her with lifelong trauma. I know there are certain issues that many young men are dealing with these days, and i don't judge them for that- but what isn't common is being able to inflict extreme emotional trauma on another person- that's a glaring red flag, and i don't think anyone capable of that kind of damage should be supported in the pursuit of fame. Not merely for the safety of others, but even for the well-being of that person themselves.
We live in an era where fame is treated like a human right, so depriving someone of it might be interpreted as a punishment. But i don't think this notion is reasonable- in truth, fame is a non-essential commodity, and choosing not to buy into supporting or enhancing someone's fame is not an act of punishment or cruelty against them- in some cases, it's a necessary act of foresight, because you understand that fame for a troubled soul might portend a great deal more harm than benefit, especially insofar as it might give someone with clearly harmful behavioral patterns access to potential victims. If a person's actions have been damaging enough to leave even one person with lifelong trauma, that should constitute enough of a red flag to discourage that person from being platformed- not because they're evil, irredeemable, or don't deserve a second chance, but because it's not spiritually or rationally sensible to put someone like that under a spotlight. I know there are many good men out there who might not understand why this is a big deal, and this might be because good men often do not know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a dangerous man's harm.
I do understand that issues like this can be full of nuance; over the course of our conversation, for example, the girl had mentioned she was deeply upset that scholars within the community had supported her ex, which caused her a great deal of pain. I empathized with her grief because i'm sure i'd feel the same way, but i erred on the side of hoping that no man i respect would ever willfully turn a blind eye to an innocent girl's suffering. So i defended the scholars and reasoned that their support for him was likely rooted in their awareness that isolating a young man struggling with a vice would probably be much worse for him than showing him understanding and empathy- i assumed their support of him wasn't a mark of them coddling him or condoning his behavior, but might've been their way of keeping him within the fold of guidance, which is their prime responsibility. Still, knowing what they know, i'm sure they'd have the wisdom to agree that supporting the fame of someone with a history of causing serious interpersonal harm is not an ethically reasonable idea.
If you're a man who i respect and trust, i want you to understand why this is important. If you don't get it, please read a victim statement, or ask me about my own experiences when i was in high school and college- i don't mind sharing if it'll help you understand. These issues are not about men vs. women, they're about harm reduction and the responsibility that exists within every person to have a degree of discernment about what we amplify and support. As Muslims, our responsibility in that vein is much higher, especially given the unchecked prevalence of emotional and physical abuse within our communities. This doesn't mean there's ever any blame or fault on the shoulders of someone who shares such content unknowingly- just that if we do know, we have a responsibility to discourage it. That discouraging doesn't need to be accompanied by exposing someone's sins or airing their dirty laundry, it can be as simple as "it might not be wise to promote or endorse this person's fame, so let's not do it here. End of."
That was the gist of the message i sent in a groupchat after one of the guys brought up the aforementioned social media star a few weeks ago. For the reasons explained above, i felt a moral responsibility to publicly discourage that guy's content from being mentioned or endorsed in our space. I didn't want to be too harsh, so i phrased it as briefly, gently, and indirectly as possible. Despite that, my phrasing offended the person i responded to; i think he took it as a personal slight against his character. He privately messaged me about it, so i responded that i completely respected where he was coming from, and calmly explained the actual intent behind my words to make it clear that the message wasn't intended as a personal attack or insult against him. I then wanted to follow up with an apology, but he never replied, so i ended up messaging his wife to convey an apology to him because i genuinely felt bad at the possibility that i may have hurt or offended him. When all was said and done, i felt quite angry and drained. It bothered me deeply that he had made the situation about his ego, instead of understanding that it was never about him, it was about something much more serious. In his defense, he strikes me as a genuinely good person who would probably care about such issues normally, so i have no hard feelings toward him at all, just disappointment.
That situation as a whole made me ruminate about how men in general- not necessarily that guy, but many men- sometimes find it difficult to understand the gravity of female suffering. For example: a few years ago, a man who helped found a major Shi'a organization in the UK sent out a barrage of tweets against feminism. I had no issue with most of his tweets- i could write my own thesis detailing the issues, flaws, and harms associated with contemporary feminism. What bothered me and made my jaw drop was that he tweeted that feminism was a bigger problem than abuse. I had to re-read his tweet several times to make sure i hadn't misunderstood. I then googled to see how many women had been murdered at the hands of men that year: the number was at least 50,000. If any man believes that an ideology is a bigger problem than abuse- which often literally ends in the killing of vulnerable victims, especially women- they need to go back and re-evaluate their understanding of the value of a single human life. As a teenager, two of my close friends were murdered in cold blood by their abusive father- this is an issue i know very personally, not in the abstract, which is why i always speak up for victims. But this is the problem: well-meaning men are sometimes jaw-droppingly, infuriatingly out of touch with the reality of what women suffer in this world, and i'm extremely tired of and disappointed by it.
Men are supposed to be our protectors, but they can't serve that role unless they're willing to consciously empathize with the trauma women experience, and hold their fellow men accountable for the role they play in causing it. I sometimes worry that this is an impossible pipe dream- but then i'm reminded that men like Alex Fine exist, and my faith in humanity is restored. I don't normally pay attention to celebrity news, but i care about the P Diddy trial because it goes so much deeper than Hollywood; like the Epstein case, i believe it goes all the way back to Mossad, and the role of covert blackmail in manufacturing consent for Zionism across different spheres of American influence. That's a thesis for a different time, but what i'm thinking about right now, in the context of everything above, is what a relief it is simply to know that men like Alex Fine exist.
The existence of a soul like him is enough to rekindle my faith that there are still truly, deeply good men in the world. After the horrific details were reported about what Cassie experienced at Diddy's hands, there were vile comments all over social media arguing that Cassie should be held responsible for everything she suffered- the sensitive, vulnerable girl who fell prey to Diddy at 19, whose face he repeatedly stomped on, who he beat so violently she couldn't be seen in public, who he drugged and subjected to exploitation of the most horrific kind- so many people online argued that it was her fault she was abused; that she must have wanted it because she chose to stay for so long- perhaps forgetting the video footage of her trying to leave and getting violently beaten for it.
The worst comments were the ones written by people arguing that Cassie's now-husband, Alex Fine, should leave her and devalue her because of the horrific sexual offenses she was subjected to while with Diddy, because in their view, she's tainted. I have known enough conservative, religious men in my life to know that many, many men out there would unfortunately agree with that sentiment; maybe most would. But not Cassie's husband. The statement he put out in her defense is one of the most humanizing, tender, beautiful things i think i've ever heard a man say for the woman he loves. It was so, so profoundly masculine in all the ways the Andrew Tates of the world could never hope to be. To know that a man can be so deeply attuned to a woman's pain and love her no less for it- it's such a rare thing to witness. After everything i've seen in this world, i know that's the only kind of man i would ever be able to love and marry- a man with a heart truly governed by the deepest empathy and compassion, especially toward women. That, i think, is what it truly means to have a prophetic character.
In conclusion: this post is not intended as an indictment against men. I deeply love, respect, and cherish good men- i grew up with two of them in the form of my brothers- and i would never want to exist in a world without them. But if you're a man who i respect in any capacity, i'm going to hold you to a high standard and challenge you to be the caliber of man God intended you to be. I believe that every man on earth has the capacity to do this, and humanity will never be able to heal unless more men and women start awakening to their Divine purpose.

Steven Beschloss at America, America:
Donald Trump federalized 4,000 National Guard troops and sent 700 U.S. Marines this week to downtown Los Angeles to pretend that this militarized show of force was necessary to overcome street protests supporting immigration rights and due process. Donald Trump ordered dozens of tanks and is spending tens of millions of dollars for a military parade, a shameful spectacle with thousands of soldiers in the streets of Washington on his birthday tomorrow. This disgraceful man, standing behind the presidential seal, stood in front of American soldiers at Fort Bragg in North Carolina this week and attacked California’s governor, the nation’s former president and the free press—successfully goading handpicked members of our military to boo and participate in partisan politics. All this is enough to know that Trump and his immoral, lawless, anti-American and authoritarian regime is escalating its efforts to deepen our nation’s polarization, stoke conflict and fear, incite violence and further turn Americans against each other. If you thought that the regime’s hostile agenda would in any way recognize constitutional limits and basic rights—at least for American citizens—know now that none of us are safe from these lawless thugs. This fact came into stunning clarity in Los Angeles yesterday during the press conference of Department of Homeland Security’s Kristi Noem. A United States senator, Alex Padilla of California, raised his voice to question Noem. His act of free speech was met by “security” without uniforms assaulting him and forcibly removing him; he was then forced to the ground and handcuffed behind his back by FBI agents. Padilla, you should know, is not only a sitting senator. He is chair of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Safety. (You can see the video here.)
Some minutes later, with remarkable calm, Padilla spoke in front of the downtown federal building, explaining he had come there for information in his oversight role and he had only begun to ask a question when he was assaulted and forcibly removed. “If this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they’re doing to farmworkers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and out in California and throughout the country,” Padilla said, his voice rising in anger as he spoke. “We will hold this administration accountable. I encourage everybody to please peacefully protest.” Minutes earlier, Noem (the infamous killer of dogs who relishes photo ops in paramilitary garb) told the assembled reporters: “We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate this city from the socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country.”
[...] All of the Trump regime’s disgraceful and false talk of “invasion” by migrants and “rebellion”—apparently evidenced by a small number of protestors who haven’t remained peaceful—should be seen as pretext for escalating their plot to invoke the Insurrection Act and increasingly turn our beloved country into a police state disemboweled and disconnected from the constitutional order. All to make the pathetically weak man who occupies our White House appear strong. Keep this in mind when you see the footage on Saturday of tanks rolling down the streets of our nation’s capital.
This Steven Beschloss column is so spot-on: The Trump Regime’s authoritarianism has arrived, and they have only begun their assault on constitutional governance.

Rarely noted is how this frightening power to ignore federal criminal law has been conferred not only on the president but on his legions of loyal lieutenants, from public officials to private militias. Because the constitution itself gives presidents an unbridled power to pardon others – a power Trump reveled in employing to free from prison the violent insurrectionists that he had himself helped unleash – we now live under a system in which any president can license his trusted followers to commit crimes to consolidate his power and wealth, making clear that a pardon awaits them should they face federal prosecution. The upshot is that privateers in league with the president can safely ignore federal laws criminalizing corrupt evasion of rules designed to protect public health and safety while they casually usurp powers the constitution gave to Congress, moving so fast and breaking so much that not even genuinely independent federal courts can keep pace with the mayhem.

With the end of the 2025 Texas legislative session approaching Monday's finish line, the House and Senate are engaging in legislative ping pong across the rotunda with bills approved by both chambers. In this version of ping pong, each chamber decides whether to accept the changes made by the other or escalate the debate by settling differences via a conference committee.
Here are some of the highlights from Thursday's floor sessions.
Landmark school funding bill now goes to the governor
Sweeping legislation to boost funding for public schools was sent to the governor's desk Thursday, completing the "Texas Two Step" designed to change the face of K-12 education in Texas.
Step one fulfilled Gov. Greg Abbott's wish for a school voucher-like program through Senate Bill 2, which will make public money available to help pay for private education. He signed it into law in an elaborate ceremony earlier this month.
House Bill 2 is step two. It provides $4.2 billion for teacher pay raises, expands the merit-based pay program known as the Teacher Incentive Allotment, invests in teacher preparation and certification programs, and creates a new $1.3 billion fixed cost fund for districts to pay overhead expenses. It also rewrites the way the state’s special education system works, setting aside $850 million more for such programs, and provides $430 million more for school safety.

'Spay. Neuter. Adopt': More options for animal friendly license plates
Abbott has signed legislation to expand the list of slogans available for license plates.
Senate Bill 1568 allows the Department of State Health Services to diversify plate design options to boost public interest and increase funding. The first redesign, “Spay. Neuter. Adopt.”, will offer Texans an easy way to support pets.
The Animal-Friendly License Plate Program, originally established in 1997, provides money for free and low-cost spay and neuter initiatives.
Part of major water-supply legislative package advances
One part of the major legislative package to address the need for a reliable water supply in Texas made it across the finish line Thursday when the House agreed to the Senate's changes to a proposed constitutional amendment.
House Joint Resolution 7 is a referendum that would start the allocation of $1 billion annually to the Texas Water Fund for up to 10 years by redirecting a portion of state sales tax collections. The money will help pay for more water and to repair aging infrastructure for local entities. Texas voters will have final approval on the plan in November.
The other part of the package, Senate Bill 7, was still awaiting final approval Thursday. This is the legislation that would put the law on the books. The constitutional amendment would authorize the legislation.
Foreign-ownership bill heads to the governor
Legislation to restrict land ownership from people "domiciled" in nations hostile to the United States was sent to the governor's desk Thursday.
Senate Bill 17, authored by Brenham Republican Sen. Lois Kolkhorst and sponsored by Rep. Cole Hefner, R-Mount Pleasant, in the House, seeks to bar individuals and companies from "adversarial nations" as identified by the U.S. national intelligence director — currently, China, Russia, Iran and North Korea — from owning land or real estate in Texas. It also gives the governor authority to add or remove countries from the list.
Each chamber offered its own version of the legislation, and the proposal sent to the governor was the work of a conference committee, which reconciled the differences.
The measure would grant the attorney general jurisdiction to investigate "land law" violations and would make it a state jail felony to knowingly purchase property despite the restrictions.
The conference committee report passed largely along party lines. Democratic Rep. Gene Wu of Houston said it would have the unintended consequence of hindering some members of the Asian community with legal standing to be in the United States from being able to purchase homes and businesses.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg plans for Louisville Metro Police to begin enforcing a decades-old ordinance that makes wearing face coverings in public illegal in an attempt to curb gun violence, he said in a news conference Tuesday.
Greenberg started discussing the idea of leveraging the ordinance with LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey after a shooting took place in the Pleasure Ridge Park High School parking lot during a football game Sunday night. The suspects in the shooting were wearing "surgical masks and other face coverings to conceal their identities," Greenberg said.
"This is not an isolated incident. LMPD officers see time and time again when assailants, trigger-pullers, are wearing masks to conceal their identities," Greenberg said.
What is the mask ordinance Mayor Greenberg is considering enforcing? Ordinance 130.01 was passed in 1983 and hasn't been enforced by LMPD since the outset of the coronavirus pandemic, said Kevin Trager, press secretary for the mayor's office.
The ordinance prohibits people from wearing "any mask, device or hood whereby any portion of the face is so hidden or covered as to conceal the identity of the wearer" while in public.
Have an opinion about this?Submit your letter to the editor here
Trager noted the ordinance doesn't carve out an exemption for people wearing masks for medical reasons.
What is exempt under Louisville's mask ordinance? As the ordinance currently stands, it allows the following exemptions:
Any person under 16 years of age. Any person wearing traditional holiday costumes in season. Any person using masks in theatrical productions, including use in Mardi Gras celebrations and masquerade balls. Any person lawfully engaged in trades or employment or in sporting activity where a mask or facial covering is worn for the purpose of ensuring the physical safety of the wearer or because of the nature of the occupation, trade or professional or sporting activity. Any person wearing a gas mask in drills, exercises or emergencies. Any person engaging in an activity such that the wearing of the mask is protected by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky or the United States Constitution. Will any amendments be made to the mask ordinance? Greenberg said the rules need to be amended to account for people who wear masks in public to defend against COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. Greenberg will use the next week to gather input from Metro Council and community members on how to design the ordinance in a way that protects public and improves public safety, Trager said.
"We believe there need to be some amendments to this ordinance that we'll be talking about with our colleagues on Metro Council about immediately," Greenberg said.
All amendments would need to be approved by Louisville Metro Council.
What is the penalty for violating the mask ordinance? People who violate the ordinance can be punished with a fine of up to $100 or imprisonment not to exceed 50 days, or both, according to the current rules.
Why does Mayor Greenberg want to enforce the mask ordinance? Greenberg said Tuesday that gun violence is a "public health emergency that we must deal with."
Some perpetrators of gun violence have used the increased prevalence of masking in public as a loophole to make getting away with crimes easier, Greenberg said. The masking ordinance gives law enforcement another tool to loosen the grip gun violence has on communities across Louisville, he said.
"There are tools that we have that we can use to reduce the amount of gun violence. It is critically important that we take every action to implement them," Greenberg said.

A tragic shooting at Florida State University has left two people dead and four others injured. The gunman, identified as Phoenix Ikner — the son of a longtime Leon County Sheriff's Deputy — opened fire near the campus student union. Authorities confirm he had access to one of his mother's firearms, sparking renewed concerns about gun access within law enforcement families. In a press conference, President Donald Trump responded by defending the Second Amendment, stating, ""The gun doesn't do the shooting, the people do."" His remarks have reignited national debate over gun control, gun rights, and accountability after campus violence. This incident highlights the growing tension between public safety and constitutional rights, especially in the lead-up to the 2025 election. As more details unfold, questions remain about gun storage laws, youth access to weapons, and the responsibilities of law enforcement families. This video provides a comprehensive overview of the incident, including eyewitness accounts, official statements, and the broader implications for gun control debates in the United States. #FSUShooting #TrumpSpeech #SecondAmendment #CampusViolence #BreakingNews #DonaldTrump #GunRights #FSUNews #USPolitics #FloridaStateUniversity #PhoenixIkner #FSU

And THAT gave me the authority to choose my workers. See?
Stop. Wait. Isn't EVERY Department head chosen by the president? And then CONFIRMED by elected representatives in the Senate? Doesn't that give THEM the authority to choose THEIR workers?
The next day, Saturday, U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury Department records that contain sensitive personal data such as Social Security and bank account numbers for millions of Americans.
But there is some question if this order has been obeyed, or if the 19 year old kid that Musk ordered to ransack the Treasury computers is still holding on to all the information he gathered.
Then today, Tuesday, less than an hour after Musk and Trump concluded their joint "press conference", a federal appeals court refused to halt a judge’s order that required the Trump administration to release billions of dollars in federal grants and loans.
States say the money remains frozen even after a court blocked a sweeping pause on federal funding.
Trump's Justice Department under Attorney General Pam Bondi, had argued that the lower court order to keep all federal grants and loans flowing was “intolerable judicial overreach.”

Happy Thanksgiving!
Read the proclamation below:
By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be-- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks--for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed--for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted--for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions-- to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually--to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed--to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord--To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us--and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.
Go: Washington

“There is a high probability that an unvaccinated patient can be a recipient of blood from a vaccinated person. And so we have vaccinated him against his will.”
In a fiery and deeply consequential address, Slovak physician and Member of Parliament Dr. Peter Kotlár delivered a stark warning to his nation and the global medical community. Speaking at a press conference following his comprehensive review of Slovakia’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Kotlár raised serious concerns about the safety of mRNA vaccines, the integrity of the blood supply, and what he described as a systematic failure of scientific institutions to address these issues transparently.
“Vaccination Without Consent”
Dr. Kotlár’s speech focused on what he termed the “forced vaccination” of unvaccinated individuals through contaminated blood transfusions. He explained his suspicion that nanolipid particles containing mRNA, which are central to the vaccine mechanism, might persist in the bloodstream of vaccinated individuals and subsequently enter the blood supply.
“If there are nanolipid particles circulating in the bloodstream,” he warned, “there is a high probability that an unvaccinated patient can be a recipient of blood from a vaccinated person. And so we have vaccinated him against his will.”
This assertion, if proven, would not only raise ethical and medical questions but could also constitute a violation of the fundamental human rights of individuals who have chosen not to receive the vaccine.

"You can wash away the stains, but the monster lurking beneath the surface will always seek to sate itself—to perpetuate chaos and ruin.  Deception only slows the inevitable, Lord Daevara.  Your insatiable hunger will be your downfall in due time."
It seemed the shadows felt like being playful tonight. Or at least that's how the words translated in the Lord's mind, anyways. The darkest sclera of his eyes possessed crimson embers. Each word that was repeated in his head caused his lips to sharpen into a lopsided grin in the night. Consideration on how to engage such phrases constituted an internal conference.
Tumblr media
" You have a way with words, shadow-talker. But I am afraid you are a few centuries too late in speaking of them. " He sat in the darkest corners, choosing to not leave the safety of such. " Some stains cannot be truly washed away, much like scars. Even with artificial means, nothing is ever truly the same once it has been altered. Physically, mentally, and psychologically. It's change's cruelest aspect. " He chortled, realizing that monsters were brought into the speech after the fact of it. Oh, it was always the same with those that chose to remain hidden from him. You are a monster, which means you will always take the chaotic path of destruction. His grinning reaver curled, baring no teeth as there was a fondness in this man or creature's words. " If you could only fathom of what truly lurks inside of my heart. Your words are as ancient as time itself. Which means one thing: There will always be a looping cycle. We have all participated in chaos and ruin, just as we have in order and creation. And my hunger, as you disastrously put it, is the very thing that has kept me walking above ground instead of becoming the dust you breathe through your nostrils. Of course, my definition of hunger likely differs from your own if I am to guess, no? "
