i use a manga downloader that rips chapters off of manga websites, which is very useful for manga that never got tankobon releases in the west and only have scanlations or like... for series that are currently updating chapter by chapter so even if i downloaded by entire volumes, there'd still be 'extra' chapters that haven't been turned into a tankobon yet

but it now runs into the issues of every website labeling chapters differently like some just label every upload as a new chapter, so if someone uploads a scnlation note about a hiatus or uploads an extra, that's chapter 13 even if... it's not chapter 13

so i have to check every single fucking file before i combine them to make my own digital tankobon noooooooooo
