COVID-19 Pandemic: Unraveling the Global Learning Crisis
Tumblr media
The COVID-19 pandemic has left an indelible mark on the world, disrupting economies, healthcare systems, and everyday life. One of the most significant areas affected by this unprecedented global crisis is education. With schools closing their doors to prevent the spread of the virus, the world has witnessed the deepening of a global learning crisis. The pandemic's impact on education has been profound, exacerbating existing inequalities and creating new challenges for learners, educators, and policymakers worldwide. In this article, we will delve into the ways the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the global learning crisis and explore potential strategies to address these pressing issues.
The Disruption of Education During the Pandemic
When the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic in early 2020, governments worldwide swiftly implemented strict measures to curb the virus's spread. One of the most crucial measures was the closure of educational institutions. Overnight, classrooms turned into virtual learning environments, and educators had to adapt rapidly to online teaching methods.
While some countries were better equipped to transition to online education, others faced significant challenges due to a lack of infrastructure and access to technology. The digital divide became more pronounced as students from low-income families or remote regions struggled to keep up with their studies. As a result, millions of children and young adults were left without access to education, further exacerbating the global learning crisis.
Widening Educational Inequalities
The pandemic has widened existing educational inequalities worldwide. Students from privileged backgrounds with access to reliable internet connections, laptops, and private tutors were better equipped to continue their education remotely. On the other hand, students from marginalized communities often lacked the necessary resources to participate in online learning effectively.
Furthermore, learners with disabilities faced additional barriers, as many online platforms were not designed to accommodate their specific needs. This disparity in access to quality education has the potential to have far-reaching consequences, as it perpetuates social and economic inequalities for generations to come.
Learning Loss and the Educational Gap
Extended school closures and disrupted learning routines have resulted in significant learning loss for many students. Studies have shown that prolonged absences from the traditional classroom setting can lead to a decline in academic performance and cognitive development.
Moreover, the pandemic has created an educational gap between different age groups. Early childhood education, a critical developmental phase, has been severely impacted, potentially affecting children's long-term cognitive and social-emotional development. Similarly, older students faced the stress of delayed examinations, college admissions, and uncertainty about their future prospects.
Mental Health Impact on Students and Educators
The pandemic's toll on mental health has been considerable, impacting both students and educators. The abrupt shift to remote learning and the uncertainties surrounding the pandemic have caused stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation among students. Many have struggled to cope with the challenges of online learning and the absence of social interactions with peers.
Educators, too, have faced unprecedented pressures, adapting to new teaching methods, dealing with technological challenges, and juggling personal responsibilities amidst the pandemic. The resulting burnout and fatigue among teachers have affected the overall quality of education and student support.
Solutions to Mitigate the Global Learning Crisis
While the COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly exacerbated the global learning crisis, there are several strategies that policymakers, educators, and communities can adopt to address these challenges and build a more resilient education system:
1. Bridging the Digital Divide
Governments and educational institutions must prioritize bridging the digital divide to ensure all students have equal access to quality education. This can be achieved through initiatives that provide laptops, tablets, or internet connectivity to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Additionally, investing in the development of educational content optimized for low-tech devices can increase accessibility for students with limited resources.
2. Blended Learning Approaches
Blended learning, a combination of online and in-person instruction, can offer a flexible and inclusive approach to education. This approach allows for personalized learning experiences while maintaining the benefits of face-to-face interactions with teachers and peers. By incorporating digital tools and resources into the curriculum, educators can cater to diverse learning styles and individual needs.
3. Teacher Training and Professional Development
Empowering teachers with the necessary skills and tools to adapt to changing circumstances is crucial. Comprehensive training in online teaching methodologies and the use of technology in education can enhance the quality of remote learning. Moreover, providing ongoing professional development opportunities can help teachers stay motivated and engaged, ultimately benefiting their students' learning outcomes.
4. Prioritizing Early Childhood Education
Recognizing the significance of early childhood education, governments should prioritize resources for early learning programs. Investing in early childhood education can have a profound impact on children's cognitive and social development, setting them on a path to success in later years.
5. Strengthening Support Systems
To address the mental health challenges faced by students and educators, it is essential to establish robust support systems within educational institutions. Counseling services, peer support groups, and mental health awareness programs can create a nurturing and empathetic learning environment.
Conclusion
The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed deepened a global learning crisis, affecting millions of learners around the world. The disruption of education, widening educational inequalities, learning loss, and the mental health impact on students and educators have posed significant challenges to the education sector.
However, by implementing innovative strategies such as bridging the digital divide, adopting blended learning approaches, prioritizing teacher training, investing in early childhood education, and strengthening support systems, we can begin to mitigate the adverse effects of the pandemic on education.
As we navigate the path to recovery, it is vital for governments, educators, parents, and communities to come together and work collaboratively towards building a more resilient and inclusive education system that can withstand future challenges. Only through collective efforts can we ensure that every child has access to a quality education, regardless of the circumstances they may face. Chronic Illness in College
College can be a hard time for any student, but it can be especially challenging for students with chronic illnesses.
Below are effective ways you and your college can help make college life easier, and spread awareness of different problems that disabled students can deal with on top of regular college life.
STUDENTS
Work With Your Disability Center to Secure Accommodations
These accommodations may include note-taking services, extended deadlines, flexible attendance policies, and the option to take exams in a low-stress environment. Advocating for these accommodations not only helps students succeed academically but also establishes a clear understanding between students and faculty regarding their needs.
Time Management
Effective time management is a valuable skill for any college student, but it’s especially valuable for students with chronic illnesses who face near constant, unpredictable health challenges. For chronically ill students, adhering to a rigid schedule is often impractical or even impossible, so flexibility becomes essential. Using planners, apps, or digital reminders can help students track assignments, plan for rest breaks, and set realistic daily goals.
Manage Your Energy
Unlike their peers, chronically ill students often have significantly less energy available to them due to symptoms such as fatigue, pain, or side effects from their medications. They may find that their "energy reserves" are quickly depleted, making it difficult to keep up with the demands of college and social life. To manage this, chronically ill students can focus on conserving their limited energy by prioritizing essential tasks, taking frequent breaks, and pacing themselves throughout the day. Strategies such as spacing out tasks, resting between classes, and reducing non-essential commitments can help students avoid overexertion and brain fog.
Create a Support System
Whether that’s friends or teachers and staff, having a support system is crucial. Students should reach out to friends, family, and counselors who can provide emotional support and understanding.
COLLEGES
Create More Accessible and Flexible Policies
This could include flexible attendance policies, access to recorded lectures, and options for remote learning when necessary. This would not only help chronically ill students, but can also help average students when they are sick or have family emergencies.
Enhance Health and Counseling Services
On-campus health facilities should include services specifically designed for chronic illness management, and counseling staff should be equipped to help students cope with the psychological challenges of balancing illness and academics. Peer support groups on campus or online can offer an additional layer of comfort, as students can connect with others who understand the specific challenges of living with a chronic illness in college.
Spread Awareness and Reduce Stigma
Ways that colleges can do this is by creating awareness programs focused on chronic illness and invisible disabilities. Faculty training and awareness campaigns can foster a campus culture of empathy and understanding, encouraging faculty and students alike to be more supportive. These programs can help ensure that all students feel seen and respected, regardless of their health challenges.

SAS training
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nastka’s journey into the ranks of the SAS (Special Air Service) is a tale of relentless perseverance, exceptional endurance, and unbreakable spirit. The SAS is famed for being one of the most elite military units in the world, and its training process is both physically and mentally gruelling, designed to break all but the most resilient. For Nastka, the journey was as much about self-discovery as it was about proving his worth as a leader.
Early Inspiration and Decision
From a young age, Nastka was captivated by stories of extraordinary feats of bravery and skill, often told by his grandpa. The idea of joining an elite unit like the SAS was born out of this fascination. However, the decision to actually pursue this path was not made lightly. Nastka knew that the SAS demanded more than just physical fitness; it required an iron will, unwavering focus, and the ability to endure the harshest of conditions.
Preparation and Pre-Selection Training
Before even attempting to join the SAS, Nastka committed himself to a rigorous self-imposed training regimen. He understood that the physical demands would be immense, so he began by building his endurance through long-distance running, swimming, and weight training. However, Nastka knew that mental toughness would be just as critical. He incorporated challenges that tested his limits—night hikes, survival exercises, and sleep deprivation drills—designed to mimic the conditions he would face in the SAS selection process.
The Selection Process
The SAS selection process is notorious for its difficulty, with only a small percentage of candidates successfully passing. For Nastka, this was the first major hurdle on his journey. The selection phase began with a series of physical assessments, where Nastka had to prove his endurance, strength, and stamina. This included timed marches carrying heavy packs across rugged terrain, which pushed his physical limits to the brink.
One of the most challenging aspects of this phase was the "Fan Dance," a 24-kilometer march over Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons, under harsh weather conditions and with minimal rest. Nastka’s mental and physical preparation served him well, but the experience was horrible nonetheless. Many of his fellow candidates dropped out at this stage, unable to cope with the sheer intensity of the challenge.
Jungle Phase
After successfully passing the initial selection, Nastka entered the "Jungle Phase," where he was deployed to a remote, hostile environment. This phase of training is designed to test a candidate's ability to survive and operate in one of the world’s most challenging terrains. For Nastka, the jungle was a completely new and unforgiving environment. Here, he learned advanced fieldcraft, navigation, and survival skills under extreme conditions.
Living off the land, dealing with the constant threat of disease, and navigating through dense, treacherous terrain all while evading capture was part of daily life. Nastka’s ability to remain calm, focused, and resourceful in these situations was crucial. The jungle phase was as much a test of mental resilience as it was of physical ability, and Nastka emerged from it with a deeper understanding of his own limits—and his capacity to surpass them.
Escape and Evasion (E&E) and Tactical Questioning
Following the jungle phase, Nastka faced the "Escape and Evasion" (E&E) exercise, one of the final and most intense phases of SAS training. During this exercise, candidates are pursued by a "hunter force" and must use all their skills to evade capture while navigating hostile terrain. This phase demands not just physical endurance but also tactical ingenuity and the ability to think clearly under immense pressure.
Eventually, Nastka was "captured" as part of the exercise, leading to the next stage: Tactical Questioning. This involves a simulated prisoner-of-war scenario where candidates are subjected to intense interrogation techniques. The goal is to test their ability to resist giving away critical information under duress. This phase pushed Nastka to the limits of his mental endurance, but he knew that maintaining composure was essential.
The Final Test
The culmination of Nastka’s training was the "P Company" (Parachute Company) test, a final assessment that evaluated everything he had learned and endured. This phase involved a series of demanding physical challenges, including a brutal 10-mile march, a steeplechase with obstacles, and a series of confidence-building exercises designed to test resolve and fearlessness.
Passing this final test was the ultimate validation of Nastka’s journey. It was not just a physical achievement but a testament to his mental fortitude, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
Reflection and Beyond
Looking back, Nastka’s journey through SAS training was more than just a path to joining an elite unit; it was a transformative experience that redefined his understanding of his own capabilities and ensure that his men see him as a leader. The SAS training taught him the value of perseverance, the importance of teamwork, and the necessity of mental resilience in the face of overwhelming odds.
As Nastka joined the ranks of the SAS, he knew that his journey had only just begun. The skills and lessons he had learned would serve him well in the challenging lifestyle ahead, where the stakes would be higher than ever. But he also knew that the journey had already shaped him into a soldier—and a person—far stronger and more capable than he had ever imagined.

The Big Picture
Vio & Shadow-focused Four Swords Manga Adaptation | Rated G
Chapter 4: Quest Updated
“Can you hear me?” asks the voice of Ganon, projected from some kind of unreachable void. Shadow isn’t exactly sure how Ganon’s remote oversight works. All he knows is that Ganon created him, Ganon’s will is truth, and Ganon will appear to him only when the time is right.
Not that Shadow cares, or anything.
“We can hear you,” sighs Vaati.
“I can’t hear you.”
Read the chapter (and very informative author's note!!) on ao3 or under the cut:
Author's Note: Finally, I’m working on this project again! I encourage you to re-read the previous chapters, because I just did a pretty significant amount of revision. The most notable change is the decision to not use manga dialogue verbatim—I’m still heavily referencing the transcription, but changing some language and phrasing to blend with my own style. Also important to note is the change of Vio, Shadow, Green, Blue, Red, Zelda, and Link Prime’s age, which is now 16 instead of 19. Working so closely with the manga, I’ve concluded that it makes the most sense for them to be around that age—mature enough to resonate with adults and potentially develop complex feelings, but young enough where it’s still believable that they would speak/act in line with the manga. To me, the True Manga Canon Links are 14-16 in the same way that, like, Katara, Sokka, Princess Azula, and Prince Zuko are ages 14-16. They’re not living in a world like ours, attending high school or something equivalent; they have very adult responsibilities, while simultaneously coping with teenage angst and the challenge of developing their own identities. And while Vio and Shadow stand out as the characters least believable as any age younger than 14, I do think the others—while silly in an cartoonish way—are not as a whole believable as preteens either. Like, Mabel and Dipper Pines are written as unusually clever preteens, and even they still seem younger than Red. Side note: cartoons are not my only frame of reference for media interpretation, but I am writing this specific thing like it’s a cartoon. Ultimately, I think that while I personally prefer writing a more mature interpretation, these characters can only be teenagers in something meant to complement and supplement canon. That said, I still fully intend to expand on the queer subtext between Vio and Shadow. Their canon arc reminds me a lot of the confusing, codependent, and ultimately life-altering relationships queer teenagers often find themselves in. This adaptation will explore Vio and Shadow’s journeys of queer discovery, both literally and allegorically, because that’s how I personally interpret the manga. Even if you’re not big on shipping these specific characters, I sincerely hope you can respect my interpretation and still find something that resonates. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this very belated update :)
Pure light transports the heroes to a chamber beneath Hyrule Castle. Link has been here before—very recently, in fact—but to Vio it somehow feels new.
“Are you well, heroes?” asks a soft female voice. Vio looks towards the center of the chamber, where a young woman floats trapped inside a magically crystal. She clasps her hands in front of her chest as if to pray.
“The Blue Maiden!” Red exclaims, his eyes wide.
“Did you save us?” asks Green.
“Link,” says the maiden, “something awful has begun. A terrible ordeal. Darkness once again covers Hyrule, just as in times of legend.”
Tell me something I don’t know, Vio wants to mutter, but decides not to antagonize the minor deity who probably just saved his life. .
“The shadow that took us was a phantom hero,” the maiden continues, “created by an evil demon.”
Vio perks up at that. The more he learns about that freak, the easier it will be to defeat him.
“It is a ‘Shadow Link. A dark reflection of you, but more powerful than any mere shadow.”
Vio attempts to process this. How exactly had Shadow Link been created? It couldn’t have been a similar process to himself. Vio is a fractured piece of a person, while Shadow Link is a dark reflection of a whole. No wonder he’s more powerful than the four of them—although combined, maybe the heroes could still stand a chance.
The maiden sighs, recapturing Vio’s attention. “It took all my might to send even that small light through the barrier. His power is not yet at its peak. You must stop him before that happens.”
“We’re no match for him now,” says Red in a defeated slump. “How can we ever beat him?”
Blue draws his sword. “We’ve gotta smash that barrier first!”
“That isn’t possible right now,” says the Blue Maiden. “The Four Sword has been cursed by Vaati. You must re-energize it, fill it with Life Force and the curse will be lifted. Then you can defeat the darkness for good.”
The four exchange uneasy glances. Finally, Green speaks up.
“Blue Maiden,” he says, “where is Princess Zelda?”
“I don’t know,” admits the maiden. “Weak as I am, I can’t sense clearly. But I can faintly sense her spirit… far, far away.”
Green nods, determined. “She’s alive. That’s enough.” It brings Vio relief, too, that this could all still be undone.
“Hold on, Blue Maiden,” says Green. “We’ll be back to save you soon.”
“Be careful, my four heroes.” The maiden closes her eyes tight, as if channeling the little power she has left. “Travel towards the Eastern Sea. I sense another Maiden within the Eastern Temple.”
Vio finds himself nodding, too.
They exit the castle through the dungeons, careful to remain undetected by Shadow Link’s army of monsters. Eventually they reach a path, which according to the sign leads directly from Castle Town to the Eastern Sea. Vio assumes that it’s meant to be followed by traveling merchants, over the course of days.
Red sighs loudly.
“Losing confidence?” Vio asks, almost playfully,.
“Yeah,” says Red, “how’d you know?”
“Because I am you.”
Green stares into the distance, filled with determination. “If Dark Link is our shadow,” he says, “we need to be better to beat him. Be more like father.”
“Yeah,” Vio smirks. “Right now, I’d give us a 50/50 chance.”
“But if we restore the sword we’ll get stronger!” says Red. “And if we can learn some teamwork—”
Blue scoffs, cutting him off. “I don’t care what it takes, we’re doing it.”
Green’s eyes sparkle in the daylight as he addresses his teammates. Vio can’t help but feel a little inspired. “Then it’s decided,” their leader announces. “Let’s go!”
─────────────────
“You’re late,” Vaati tells Shadow as he shuts the door behind him. The one-eyed demon waits at the far end of the conference table, as usual, scrutinizing the shade as he plops down into his own seat.
Steadying his heart, Shadow rolls his eyes. Reclines slightly, enough to slam his boots onto the table. Shoots Vaati a self-satisfied grin. “Sorry, I was busy. Doing things, in my body.”
Vaati’s eye narrows. The Wind Mage may now be free in the world of light, but he still lacks a corporeal form.
“You’re welcome, by the way,” Shadow adds. “For breaking the seal.”
“Don’t congratulate yourself just yet.”
The air in the dark room begins to crackle, an occurrence Shadow immediately recognizes. He removes his boots from the table and stiffens his posture.
“Do you have us on mute?” Shadow asks, helpfully.
Vaati scoffs. “He just said he can’t hear you.” Shadow just shrugs.
“I think I have you on mute,” says Ganon. “Hold on, this is—ah. Yes, I see.”
Vaati and Shadow lock eyes, unsure who should speak first.
“I still can’t hear you,” Ganon repeats, frustrated.
“Lord Ganon,” Vaati finally says, “we are both here.”
“There you are. Excellent.”
Shadow preens under his approval. “My Lord, I have good news. The Wind Mage has been successfully freed, and the Four Sword drawn. Princess Zelda is in our clutches. Hyrule Castle has been overtaken by our forces.”
“Our clutches? Our forces?”
Shadow winces. “Yours, My Lord.”
Ganon pauses for a moment. Shadow grips the edge of the table. “It seems you are serving your purpose, Shadow Link.”
Shadow grins. “You should have seen it, Link’s father was so fooled. And the four heroes—”
“Are dead?” interrupts Ganon, and Shadow’s heart falls.
“Not… as such.”
“Explain yourself, Shadow Link.”
Shadow deliberates each word before it leaves his mouth. “They had assistance, my Lord. The Blue Maiden, while contained, used her remaining light magic to repel my presence and transport them to safety.”
“I see.”
Shadow braces himself for his creator’s disapproval.
“Because the heroes survive,” Ganon says, “they pose a great danger to you.”
Shadow hangs his head. “I’m sorry, I can’t control how I—”
“You are not the perfect being I sought to create, Shadow Link. You are inherently flawed, weak to the light.”
And now the heroes know it too, Shadow realizes, ashamed. Despite all of his prior gleeful theatrics, he hadn’t even considered acting unbothered by the light. Not when it scared him so much, not when it caught his so off-guard. Pathetic.
“However,” continues Ganon, “your failure is not in your weakness.”
Shadow’s breath hitches. “It isn’t?”
“Your failure is in your admittance of defeat. You have the power of darkness at your disposal—use it wisely.”
Shadow takes a deep breath and nods. “Yes, my Lord.”
“You will need to travel in darkness to defeat them,” Ganon instructs. “Do not attempt to approach the heroes during the daytime.”
“But then how am I supposed to—”
“Have patience. Observe. Prevent the four heroes from gaining power, but do not make yourself vulnerable again.”
Shadow’s palms itch. He’s not a delegator, and patience is not one of his virtues. There’s no place for theatricality in this mission. It doesn’t sound fun.
“I won’t disappoint you,” Shadow reassures his creator, already plotting ways to disrupt the heroes’ journey. He could still make this fun. He could succeed, despite his weakness. He isn’t a perfect creation, but he can still be the next best thing.
Or would he be the next worst thing, considering the evil of it all?
“Your supervision is appreciated,” Ganon tells Vaati. “And Shadow Link—”
“Yes?”
“I am… proud of what you have accomplished. I look forward to your future successes.”
Shadow breaks out into an almost childish smile. “Thank you, my Lord!”
Ganon doesn’t respond, but his presence still lingers. Vaati and Shadow exchange a tired glance.
“You have to end the call,” sighs the Wind Mage. “Sir.”
“Right,” says Ganon, admitting no fault of his own. “Meeting adjourned.”

I have someone who comes to groom my dog because I physically can't keep up with it. He's extremely good at his job.
He also thinks Trump isn't all that bad a guy, the Democrats are the anti-human rights party, had no idea the Supreme Court was a thing/is controlled by Republicans and that's why so many human rights are being rolled back in America, refuses to actually use his privilege of having a preferential voting system to not have to vote for the two major shitty parties because he insists on believing nothing good has been done despite numerous proving points to the contrary in his own life let alone others' lives, thinks climate change is a hoax and can't wrap his head around why university studies need to be checked for a donor list and a fossil fuel company supported 'study' isn't reliable actually, hasn't even learned the most basic empathy concept of "you not suffering from a problem other people suffer from doesn't make that problem less important/you should care about people whose lives you don't experience", outright said with his full chest that maybe we should racially segregate the Olympics again actually, and a number of other toxic to downright rancid things I would have just written him off and slammed the door in his face for last year let alone a few years ago.
Don't get me wrong. Talking to him is fucking EXHAUSTING and I feel physically disgusting afterward having to just calmly listen to all these things he spouts which have historically resulted in entire groups of people being targeted for genocide and numerous other human rights abuses when left unchecked and allowed to fester at the societal level.
BUT HE LISTENS WHEN I CHALLENGE HIM.
I can see him actually seeing me as a human being worth listening to. He's older than me and definitely been down way too many right-wing rabbit holes for me to pull him onto the surface any time soon. But I'm giving him things to chew on and hopefully if we're lucky I've planted some seeds which will eventually grow into some semi decent human being plants one day. He's really ignorant and clearly under-educated and that itself isn't his fault and biting his head off isn't remotely going to make up for that gap and is only going to drive him further into the arms of whatever fucked up extremist conservative groups he's been listening to.
He is reachable. He's just also a very long project I only get to work on for an hour at a time every 6 weeks.
And some of the things I've said which I think were part of what got through to him involved showing empathy for him being a single father(? I may have mixed that up with someone else but I think he is) with a disabled kid. He shows empathy for disabled people because he's the father of one (and probably is neurodivergent himself I believe but unsupported and doing his best to give his son the support he didn't get from the sounds of it).
But yeah.
Listen: you don't have to take shit to the face if the person is solely malicious and trying to hurt you. No one is obligated to meet that with kindness and anyone saying otherwise can get fucked. There is a limit to how much bullshit someone can cop while the bullshitter acts like any emotional response to their bullshit is unreasonable/out of nowhere and that is valid on the part of the person copping the crap.
However, if you a) can handle coping long enough to break down those walls with unexpected kindness/it isn't dangerous for you to try that method (VERY IMPORTANT. PAY ATTENTION TO THOSE DETAILS. DON'T TRY THAT ON SOMEONE WHO IS ACTIVELY THREATENING/DANGEROUS TO YOU), or b) can tell it's soft bigotry/general ignorance driving the otherwise yuck things being said, do give the compassion and patient education route a try.
I've had numerous instances of me holding shitty ignorant beliefs I had no idea were actually harmful. The people biting my head off didn't get to me. The people who took the time to see I was just ignorant and under-educated on the matter (and hadn't yet developed the empathy for a group I didn't belong to) taking me aside and patiently dealing with my idiocy long enough to explain things to me in a way that got through my skull (and eventually into my heart as well) were the ones who fundamentally improved me as a person. I still have plenty of things I always have to work on. But I can tell you now I would be much MUCH worse without those patient, kind, educational interventions by people who could tell the difference between malice and ignorance.
The same applies to everyone else.
Human beings are human beings. All of us. Re-humanising each other is the last thing any of the politicians and extremist groups want us to do BECAUSE IT WORKS. IT BREAKS THE WARPED MODEL OF THE WORLD THEY PORTRAY AS REALITY TO DIVIDE US AND KEEP US ALL AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS INSTEAD OF CUTTING OFF THE FOOD SOURCE FOR THEIR WEEDS AT THE ROOT.
When we remind a hurting person that we are a person too, not the bogeyman the extremist groups paint us as, it shakes their warped worldview to the core. It makes them think. It makes them QUESTION. It makes them look at the flower the 'evil' Pride-pin wearer gave them because no one gave them flowers when their mother died and their hate begins to crack at the seams.
The things the world teaches men hurts men too. Teaching them they DON'T have to subscribe to that mentality all the way down to the roots of the patriarchy weed is the best and most effective way of cutting that mentality off at the source. Even if you struggle to empathise with men because you've been hurt; ok, valid. But it is demonstrably more effective, sustainable and long term changing to just get rid of all of it by addressing their pain and showing them how much healthier and happier they can be just in their own life let alone others' lives by casting off the system that hurts them too.
I'm pretty sure I'm just rehashing the same points here, sorry, but the concept of deradicalisation as a healing and long term change tool has been my social justice special interest this year so talking it out helps it solidify in my own head too. (And gives me strength to deal with bullshit because it reminds me it's worth copping what I can personally handle in order to get someone to think, change and grow, one exhausting person at a time).
part of the reason i love how bell hooks talks about masculinity is that she shows real compassion towards men suffering from the effects of toxic masculinity. she was conscious of how we need to unlearn the ways we talk about men + masculinity just as much as we need to unlearn the same for women + femininity. so many times ill see someone talking about toxic masculinity like (hyperbolizing here but only slightly) “these FUCKING STUPID BABY BITCHES won’t MAN UP and go to a therapist!!!” and like. i get the anger. but you see feminists recreating patriarchal manhood by only promoting good behaviors through patriarchal frameworks. any use of the term “real men” is bad because it reifies the idea that manhood is a special title you must earn, and it is something possible to fail and fake. & as important as it is to promote sexual equality + the pleasure of non-cis-men, lots of people are essentially still working with the idea that men need sexual prowess to have worth but just shifting it slightly so there is more emphasis on women’s pleasure. but I want cis men to think about their partners’ pleasure because they care about their partners, not because they need to check a box in order to keep their man card. and don’t get me started on small dick jokes– and the absolutely pitiful excuse people will use that “well, I don’t believe it, but misogynistic men get upset when I say it, so it’s okay!”
basically bell hooks is so fucking right. in order to create loving men we need to love men, simply for being alive, whether or not they are performing. as much as we need to actively unlearn misogyny (and we do), it’s equally vital we unlearn patriarchal ways of seeing manhood. we can’t just assume that taking a feminist perspective automatically means there is no work to be done there.

You Won’t Believe These 5 Ways Mathematics Tuition Online Outperforms Classroom Learning
Tumblr media
Traditional classroom instruction has been the accepted paradigm for education for many years. Desk, board, group lectures and learning instructions have shaped how students understand subjects, especially challenging people as mathematics. However, with the rapid development of technology and increasing popularity of e-learning platforms, mathematics teaching online shows to be a serious challenger-and in many ways a better alternative for traditional track.
While the classroom learning still has the value, there are many large areas where mathematics tuition online not only matches, but does better. Let's find out the five most compelling reasons why students and parents go towards mathematics education online.
1. Personal attention and adaptive learning
In a traditional class, a single teacher may have to manage 30 to 50 students at a time. Even the most dedicated teachers struggle to meet every student's personal speed and learning style. As a result, some students are left behind, while others do not face enough.
On the other hand, online mathematics teaching provides personal and adaptive learning paths. Either one-on-one session or AI-controlled platforms, students get favorable lessons that match their specific strength and weaknesses. Interactive tools are considering their progress in real time so that supervisors can immediately adjust the instructions.
"Each student's ability to focus on unique learning needs separates online teaching," says an experienced online mathematics teacher Reena Mehra. It's not about teaching a course, but about teaching a child.
2. More flexibility and convenience
The flexibility of online math instruction is among its most well-known features. Unlike classroom settings related to stiff schedule, online learning lets students choose when and where they study. This flexibility enables them to balance additional responsibilities and academics over time.
Students can present the sessions registered to the comfort of their homes, in the most productive hours and even better understanding. This feature not only saves time, but also increases a less stressful learning environment, which increases attention and storage.
In addition, students no longer cope with the logical challenges of coming to coaching centers. It is especially beneficial for those who have access to world -class mentors in rural or remote areas.
3. Instant response and tracking of real -time
Traditional classes usually provide a delay reaction. A student may have to wait the day to classify their tasks or tests. When they get the results, the opportunity has gone to learn from their mistakes in real time.
With mathematics teaching online, immediate feedback becomes a powerful teaching tool. Many platforms and supervisors use interactive reviews that immediately show students if their answers are correct. If they make a mistake, they can see step -by -step explanation on the site.
In addition, online dashboards track the performance measurements over time, providing obvious insight into areas of improvement. Both parents and students can reach these analyzes, which can help everyone to be informed and engaged in the learning process.
4. Attractive equipment and innovative teaching methods
Mathematics can often feel abstract or scare in a traditional path, especially when it is only taught through textbooks and lectures. Online teaching introduces a variety of dynamic, attractive devices that make complex mathematical concepts easy to understand.
This includes:
Animated view and 3D model
Interactive boards
Simulation of the real life
Gamated quizzes and activities
Such properties make passive learning an interactive experience. When students participate, ask questions, and are actively involved, they are more likely to retain what they have learned. As a result, even students who used to not like mathematics first begin to enjoy the subject.
Online supervisor Naveen Rao says: "When I taught classes, I could just pull the graph on a tray." "Now I can show the students how a perbola becomes in real time. This is a gaming exchanger."
5. High confidence and independent teaching
The atmosphere in orbit can sometimes be scary. Students can hesitate to ask questions about fear of embarrassment in front of colleagues. This frequently results in unresolved doubt, which builds up and reduces academic benefits.
Online mathematics teaching eliminates these obstacles. In private or small groups settings, students feel more comfortable with expressing confusion and taking help. The virtual environment's anonymity can encourage shy kids to speak up.
In addition, many online programs encourage learning self -book, which creates freedom and important thinking. Students learn how to manage their own program, set goals and take responsibility for progress. These are essential life skills that are outside academics.
Final Thoughts: Embrace a new era of learning
While traditional classes will always have their place in education, the transformation effect of mathematics teaching is not denied online. With its personal approach, quick response, attractive tools and unmatched flexibility, it provides a learning experience that meets the needs of a modern student.
For many students, especially those struggling with mathematics, online teaching has transformed a fantastic topic into an exciting challenge. It's no longer about solving equations - it's about how mathematics can be acceptable, interactive and even fun.
Education is no longer confined to the classroom in the current digital era.. The success of online mathematics teaching is a will for how technology, when used effectively, can increase it and sometimes perform better than traditional methods. If you are still on the fence to try to create mathematics tuition online, these five benefits can just be a spade you need to give it a shot - and belief in advertising.

Accessible Mental Health Support Across Australia
In today’s fast-paced world, mental health is a growing priority, and access to support services is more important than ever. Fortunately, more Australians are discovering convenient and affordable ways to receive care, thanks to services like bulk billing psychologist sessions and the increasing availability of online psychology services Australia wide. These developments are helping break down barriers and offering flexible solutions for individuals seeking mental health support, regardless of their location or financial situation.
Many people delay seeking help for mental health issues due to cost or the challenges of physically accessing a clinic. This is where the concept of a bulk billing psychologist becomes vital. Bulk billing allows eligible patients to access therapy sessions under Medicare with no out-of-pocket expenses, making professional support financially accessible. It is a crucial option for individuals and families who may otherwise struggle to afford consistent care. Particularly in regional or rural parts of Australia, this type of service provides a critical lifeline.
Alongside affordability, convenience is another key factor that influences whether people pursue mental health support. The rise of online psychology services Australia has transformed the landscape. Now, anyone with a stable internet connection can receive expert help from the comfort and privacy of their own home. This removes the need for travel, time off work, or even the anxiety that may come from visiting a physical clinic. Sessions are conducted through secure video platforms, ensuring confidentiality and high-quality communication between psychologist and client.
Importantly, this digital shift does not compromise the quality of care. Psychologists offering online services are fully qualified and registered with relevant Australian health authorities. The flexibility of this model allows for a more personalized approach, as individuals can choose times that work for them and even access specialists outside their immediate region. This is particularly helpful for people in remote areas, those with mobility issues, or individuals balancing complex schedules.
While navigating mental health services can sometimes be overwhelming, platforms like harvestclinic.com.au make the process straightforward. Clients can browse service options, learn about the therapists, and make bookings with ease. The website is designed to make professional care both accessible and approachable, aligning with modern healthcare expectations.
Beyond immediate therapy sessions, there is also growing awareness around preventive mental health care. Regular check-ins with a psychologist, even when not in crisis, can lead to stronger emotional resilience and better coping mechanisms. Thanks to bulk billing psychologist services, this ongoing care is no longer a luxury for the few, but a feasible choice for many Australians.
Similarly, the presence of online psychology services Australia continues to expand, integrating with other health and wellness services to offer a holistic support system. As stigma around mental health continues to decrease, more people are beginning to explore therapy as a proactive tool, rather than a last resort. This cultural shift is being supported by government initiatives, healthcare professionals, and accessible platforms.
Technology has been the great enabler in this transformation. From scheduling sessions online to receiving support through video or even text-based formats, clients have more control over how they engage with their mental health journey. This control leads to higher engagement, improved outcomes, and a stronger sense of agency for the client.
Ultimately, the combination of affordability through bulk billing and the reach of online services is setting a new standard for mental health care in Australia. Platforms like harvestclinic.com.au are playing a valuable role in this evolving space by bridging the gap between clients and trusted psychologists in a way that is efficient, inclusive, and empathetic.
As more Australians take steps toward emotional well-being, it’s encouraging to see the healthcare system adapting to meet those needs. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or simply seeking personal growth, the tools and support systems are now more accessible than ever before. And with continued innovation in how care is delivered, mental health support can truly reach everyone, wherever they are.

Manjača hike
Activity title: Manjača hike
Date and duration: 7th of April, 2024 (lasted around 8 hours)
Type of CAS activity: Activity
Activity description
Tumblr media
On an ordinary day, in a typical town behind unremarkable mountains, hills, and seas, Jelena told me about a lake at Manjača. She explained how long it would take to reach it—first, half an hour walking along the road, then another half hour on a forest path, and finally an hour and a half through woods and meadows. It sounded like a very remote place, far from civilization. Intrigued by the pictures of the lake, I decided to convince two friends to join me on this adventure. And that’s how it all began.
Tumblr media
We woke up, took the bus, and set off on our journey. We hiked for about three hours, laughing and having a great time. However, when we finally arrived, I was truly surprised by the lake's size. It was more of a pond than a lake—definitely one of the top three disappointments of my life, if I can say that, haha!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite that, the hike itself was beautiful; the landscapes, views, and even Jelena’s grandmother made the experience wonderful and peaceful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall, I wish we are going to repeat this experience again soon:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reflection
*learned how to cope with disappointmentᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
And yes, this singular bullet-point is my reflection. To be a bit more IB appropriate I will now discuss it however that's all I learned really. It wasn't such a big disappointment, nor were my expectations particularly high. Don't get me wrong—nature, the people, and life in that moment were all beautiful. It was calm, without any problems, stress, or anxiety. Just simple, unadulterated nature—a true rest for my soul. In summary, it was a wonderful day in a lovely place that taught me to appreciate the true values in life.
Tumblr media
Learning outcomes
Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

Navigating Major Life Transitions: The Role of Relationship Counselling Bull Creek in Times of Change
Tumblr media
Life transitions are inevitable. Whether it’s the birth of a child, a career shift, moving house, or facing the reality of ageing parents, these moments of change can have a profound effect on even the most stable relationships. While such transitions often open the door to personal growth, they may also bring with them unexpected emotional turbulence, miscommunication, or conflict.
For couples and families living in Perth’s southern suburbs, Relationship Counselling Bull Creek has emerged as a supportive path through these challenging yet pivotal stages. Rather than waiting for things to fall apart, many are discovering the benefits of seeking guidance early to build stronger, more resilient connections.
Understanding Life Transitions and Their Emotional Weight
What counts as a major life transition? It's broader than people often assume. Welcoming a new baby, shifting to remote work, retiring, coping with serious illness, experiencing a miscarriage, or moving interstate can all trigger deep emotional shifts. Even positive events—like getting married or moving into your dream home—may introduce new stressors that test the foundations of a relationship.
In many cases, people aren't fully aware of how much these transitions are affecting them. The pressure to “get on with it” or stay strong can suppress emotional expression, especially when responsibilities increase and time together becomes scarce. It’s often during these moments that couples start to drift emotionally or face disagreements they previously didn’t have.
These shifts can be especially tough for families in tight-knit communities, where expectations around resilience, privacy, and traditional roles may affect how couples seek help. Fortunately, there are now more resources than ever for individuals and couples navigating these complexities in Bull Creek and surrounding areas.
Relationship Strain: When to Consider Counselling
Change can highlight or amplify existing issues—especially those related to communication, shared values, or emotional availability. Some signs that may indicate a need for support include:
Recurring arguments that never seem to resolve
Feelings of being emotionally disconnected
Major decisions creating tension or avoidance
A sense that you and your partner are “out of sync”
Difficulty adjusting to new routines or expectations
Many assume counselling is only for relationships that are “on the rocks.” In reality, Relationship Counselling Bull Creek is often sought by couples who want to strengthen their foundation before issues escalate. It’s about proactive care—not just crisis response.
For those experiencing these challenges, it may also be helpful to explore broader wellbeing topics like navigating life changes or mental health in regional communities, which can offer a sense of connection to wider community experiences.
The Supportive Role of Counselling in Times of Change
One of the greatest advantages of counselling is its ability to introduce a neutral, structured environment where both partners can express themselves safely. Rather than fuelling blame or resentment, the goal is to promote shared understanding and growth.
Counselling during transitional times may help couples to:
Develop better communication habits: especially when emotions are running high or time is stretched thin
Clarify shared goals: such as parenting strategies, financial plans, or future commitments
Process grief or anxiety: that may arise from change, even when it’s anticipated
Strengthen empathy: by learning how each partner interprets and responds to stress
Couples facing new phases in life may find that therapy helps them understand how their relationship dynamics shift under pressure, and how to adapt together instead of growing apart.
Why Local, Accessible Support Makes a Difference
While digital therapy and self-help materials are widely available, there is real value in connecting with a local provider who understands the nuances of your community. Residents in Bull Creek and surrounds may find it easier to attend sessions when support is nearby, removing barriers related to time, travel, or familiarity.
Engaging with someone who understands your local context—whether that’s work-life culture in Perth’s southern suburbs, community expectations, or the general pace of life—can make all the difference.
That’s where Professional relationship counselling Bull Creek at Bull Creek Counselling Centre comes in. Their focus on accessible, compassionate care provides couples with tools that suit their specific life context—not just generic advice.
Building Resilience Before the Crisis Hits
It’s a common misconception that couples only go to therapy when they’ve hit a breaking point. In truth, counselling is most beneficial when sought early—before recurring patterns become entrenched and resentment builds.
Therapy during transitionary periods can create a buffer against long-term dissatisfaction. It may also lay the foundation for how future transitions are handled, offering couples strategies they can use well beyond the immediate situation.
By proactively addressing concerns—big or small—couples are better equipped to maintain connection, foster emotional safety, and make collaborative decisions. It's not about being perfect. It's about having the tools to manage change without losing each other in the process.
Final Thoughts: Every Chapter Deserves Support
Life never stops changing—and that’s not a bad thing. But when the pace of life picks up or relationships are tested by change, support becomes essential. From strengthening communication to navigating grief, Relationship Counselling Bull Creek may offer couples a way to stay connected through it all.
Rather than seeing counselling as a last resort, consider it an act of care—one that invests in your future, as individuals and as partners.
Whether you're navigating a joyful milestone or facing uncertainty, the support you seek today may shape how you move forward together tomorrow.

How Online Class Help Makes Learning More Accessible for All
The landscape of education has undergone a profound transformation in recent years. The digital era has ushered in innovative tools and platforms that are redefining the traditional classroom experience. Among these advancements, Online Class Help services have emerged as a vital pillar supporting academic achievement and equal access to education.
These services aren't just a convenient option—they are a lifeline for many who struggle to keep pace with demanding academic schedules, work obligations, or personal responsibilities. By bridging the gap between institutional expectations and individual capabilities, Online Class Help enables learners from all walks of life to engage meaningfully with their education.
Flexibility That Empowers Learners
One of the primary reasons Online Class Help is gaining traction is the flexibility it offers. In a world where multitasking is the norm, students often find themselves juggling part-time jobs, internships, family responsibilities, and coursework. Attending live classes or meeting rigid academic deadlines can become overwhelming.
With Online Class Help, students have the ability to delegate parts of their workload, ensuring they stay on track without compromising their mental or physical well-being. This flexibility is not a luxury—it is a necessity for students who live in time-constrained environments or across different time zones.
Personalization for Deeper Understanding
Every learner is different. Traditional education systems often fail to cater to the varied learning styles and cognitive needs of individual students. Online Class Help services counteract this limitation by offering tailored assistance that meets students where they are—academically, emotionally, and intellectually.
Whether a student struggles with theoretical subjects or lacks confidence in writing and communication, the personalized nature of Online Class Help provides a path to academic competence. Assistance is no longer one-size-fits-all; it is customized, refined, and focused on each student's unique academic profile.
Bridging Knowledge Gaps with Expert Help
The academic challenges students face are as diverse as the students themselves. Some struggle with foundational concepts, while others find it difficult to keep up with the pace of advanced coursework. In such cases, having access to subject-matter experts is invaluable.
When students choose to Pay Someone to Take My Online Class, they are not simply outsourcing their responsibilities—they are securing the expertise of professionals who can help them navigate difficult subjects, manage complex projects, and submit assignments that meet academic standards. These experts bring specialized knowledge and experience that can elevate a student’s overall performance and confidence.
Removing Barriers to Global Education
The accessibility of education should not be confined by geography. Yet, in many traditional models, location determines opportunity. Students in rural areas or countries with limited academic infrastructure are often at a disadvantage.
Online Class Help removes these barriers by making high-quality educational support available to students anywhere in the world. Whether someone is in a remote village or a bustling urban center, they can receive the same level of academic assistance as their peers in prestigious institutions.
This democratization of learning fosters equality and inclusion—values that should be at the heart of every educational system.
Supporting Students with Special Needs
Students with disabilities or learning difficulties often require accommodations that traditional educational systems are ill-equipped to provide. Online Class Help services offer the level of flexibility and personalization that can make education a truly inclusive experience.
Visual learners, auditory learners, students with attention disorders, or those coping with emotional distress can benefit from targeted, supportive academic guidance. These services can be adapted in ways that traditional classrooms cannot, creating an environment where every student has a fair shot at success.
Reducing Stress and Enhancing Mental Wellness
Academic pressure is a leading cause of stress among students. The constant race to meet deadlines, prepare for exams, and balance academic with personal responsibilities can take a toll on mental health.
By opting to Pay Someone to Take My Online Class, students are not looking for shortcuts—they are seeking relief from unsustainable stressors. These services act as buffers, enabling learners to regain control over their time and mental space. With reduced anxiety, students are better equipped to focus on long-term learning goals, rather than just short-term academic deliverables.
Encouraging Lifelong Learning
Education should not be confined to the young or to those in full-time schooling. Working professionals, stay-at-home parents, and retirees are increasingly pursuing academic qualifications or new skills through online platforms.
Online Class Help allows these learners to engage with education without disrupting their daily lives. It empowers them to participate in lifelong learning, career development, or personal growth—on their own terms and at their own pace.
Conclusion
In a world that demands both adaptability and excellence, Online Class Help services are playing an instrumental role in reshaping the way people learn. They provide critical support for students burdened by time constraints, personal challenges, or academic pressure. By offering flexibility, expert guidance, and accessibility, these services are making education truly inclusive.
To Pay Someone to Take My Online Class is to invest in a smarter, more manageable path to academic success. It’s not about avoiding learning—it’s about creating an environment where learning becomes feasible for everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
