Alright, alright, I'll admit it: I only wanted to draw Husk in a cowboy outfit and it spiraled from there. But I'm not mad at that. 😆

Fun fact: as easy as it is for me to draw Husk, as hard it is to draw Angel. And finding references for 4 arms?? Yeah, that's a pain in the ass. So all his arms are mine this time. 😅 I'm pretty proud of how they turned out though.

Fun fact II: the spider I used for Angel's speech bubble in the first frame is the spider Charlie used in the beginning of Episode 5. I thought it's cute.

OK SO: after analyzing the new ad for Gotchard's card packs, I made a list of all the various cards that we get to see in the ad itself, and boy howdy are there a lot of em.

So far, I've managed to spy 31 individual cards out of the pack. Out of the cards, I've noticed six types (namely People, Vehicles, Bugs, "Modern Stuff", Plants, and Animals) with what is most likely ten cards for each category. That makes it so that we've seen half of them already, which is a pretty good number for us considering we haven't even seen the guy in action yet.

For this, I've listed the individual cards in each category, starting with the ones with the most seen. Each card is listed with Name, Theme, and Number Ranking (including the golden-foil "10" cards as well.) And yes, that does mean I had to squint-read the names from the cards.

A/N: I got this idea on a random Saturday evening so I wrote it down. Count it as part of my spooktober ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°). Hope you like it! -Admin J

"So next up is number 11! Juyeon come up here and pick!" Juyeon stumbled up the impromptu stage, almost losing the hat he was wearing.

Honestly, Juyeon hadn't been aware that he was expected to dress up in a costume for the Halloween party the football team was hosting after winning their latest game, so his last minute costume considered of a pink, glittery cowboy hat that he had probably gotten from one of the sorority girls and a plastic toy gun he had won at an arcade once.

Everyone focused on him as he took his time picking out an item out of the magician hat one of his teammates had offered for this game of seven minutes in heaven. No one and I mean absolutely NO ONE would miss the chance to be his partner for the game, obviously he was the star player of the football team. Your heart almost stopped when he pulled out the red crystal necklace that had previously adorned your neck. Not even seconds after the two of you were pushed into the small space of a broom closet. Juyeon was smiling at you shyly, his cheeks slightly reddened, probably from the alcohol.

"So uhm... Can I bite you?" "Sure." He shrugged. You had only been joking, making a reference to the fact that you were wearing a vampire costume, you had expected him to laugh about the bad joke, but the way he was so unaffected by it and the fact that you were playing seven minutes in heaven after all made you unable to back down.

However, being a decent human begin, even when tipsy, you decided to go for his lips first. As the two of you melted into the kiss, you felt his large hands find leverage at your hips. Your lips started to move lower, to the skin of his neck and collarbones, sucking and nibbling on it to leave a trail of little purple marks.

It was easy to tell Juyeon was enjoying himself by the noises that left his lips and to say you weren't enjoying yourself would be quite a lie.

Every once in a while he would pull you up again so your lips could meet, fueled by the sexual tension in the room and the alcohol both of you had consumed prior.

The doors opened again, way too early for your liking. What was worse was the kind of walk of shame that followed. All eyes on you, they were all aware you had just made out with Juyeon in the broom closet.

Your head was hanging low in embarrassment, all the confidence you had suddenly gone. "Well, seems like Y/N had quite a good time sucking Juyeon’s blood!" The football team captain announced loudly, patting his teammates back, making a similar reference to your costume as you had done.

"Oh, because you're a Vampire!" Juyeon's eyes suddenly widened in realization. You looked at him dumbfounded, was he just now realizing that? The whole time, was he just thinking you were some random creep asking to bite people?

It had tumbled from your lips as you quivered beneath him the first time he had actually let you lay with him. "Mi Amor."

His heart ached with it, even months after you parted after last New Year's Eve. He had chosen you because he was captivated by you. He'd never seen such beauty. It radiated from your very soul. He knew they would love you. That they would be satisfied and he could feed from their satiated lust. And satisfy you did. The FBI Agent. The Boxer. The Criminal. The Protector. Them and the others. They all found what they were looking for. He'd fed from there satisfaction between your legs.

You were truly special. He didn't account for how special. Along with seeing what you needed to know about the men you were sleeping with, all his clients needed to give their full consent, he may be a monster but he isn't that type of a monster, you managed to turn the power he had given you on him. You would talk to him about his favourite things as he cleaned you with his tongue, drinking down the essence of their lust. He kept you longer than he should have just to hear your thoughts on his favourite things, your favourite things. When he returned you to New Year's Eve with no other memory than kissing him at midnight, you somehow returned to him. With each equinox or thinning of the veil you got close. He ached to touch you. He agreed to give you a chance, as long as you helped to fed him the quenched desires he needed. He was going to show you, show you you were better off without him.

He chose well from all the worlds in his grasp. The Mandalorian who gathered admiring glances where ever he went, a good heart under his armour. The Prince who was desired far and wide, a lover of skill. The Poet and the Artist, a taste of something sustaining beyond love. The DEA Agent, a man of determination, one that could fight to give you whatever your heart desired. The Superhero, an honest man who lived in the light. The Pilot, a fragile soul that you could grow old with. He tried to tempt you with them. He gave you softness with The Dreamer. A tasted of being provided for by The Businessman. A yearning for family with The Warrior. The Vampire had been an attempt to frighten you away from monsters. The Cowboy and The Killer were an attempt to frighten you away from the darker side of man.

None of it work. Even when they made you scream in ecstasy, you still called to him, still yearned for his touch. You lay together a hundred nights in between. You always returned to him. Maybe it was time he tried your company like they did. To find his truth, his path.

Opening the wine he poured two glasses. You would wake soon. The spell would take affect. You would only see enough of him to make you feel safe, to make your choice of if you desired him. If you wanted to share your bed with him.

Your eyes opened and you smiled at him. "Amando." That's all you saw. The solider that went with his army to do better for his people.

You didn't see how his blind faith in his commanders hurt people. How they destroyed villages in the name of their country and there was very little he could do to stop it. They never died by his sword. Never by his hand but he didn't always stop it either. One time he hesitated too long to save a life. For that he was cursed. Cursed to live off the satisfaction of others, cursed to live in servitude. He had long since made peace with it. Until you arrived.

It was like a dream, how you welcomed him into your arms. Your movements unhurried, you savoured each press of his lips, each swept of his tongue, every touch, every moan. As he joined your bodies over and over he expected the epiphany to strike him. Even after your lust was satiated. No moment of clarity came to him, his thoughts were all filled with you. Just you.

"My love." He sobbed against your cheek. As he let his guard down the walls of his spell came down too. You remembered everything. All your time with him. How you had fallen deeply in love with him. His kind soul, his warm heart, his intelligence, his creativity, the way he made you feel, safe, treasured, loved. You remembered his fear about letting you stay, about cursing you too, your agreement to see what other men could offer you.

"Shhhh. It's okay, Mi Amor."

Wrapped in your arms, letting you fully into his heart with no reservations. He finally felt satisfied himself. The tendrils of magic that gripped him withdrew, he felt it leave him. Felt his heart beat g9w it should once again, right against yours. Once more his spell had helped someone find their path. His was with you, free of his curse.

“The Authentic William James” by Stephen Gallagher - a British show cowboy is accused of setting a theater fire that killed a German noble. Sebastian Becker, special investigator for the British Crown, must find the accused so he can be scapegoated before rumors of assassination spark a pan-European war. Along the way, Sebastian finds that the accused man’s daughter has been kidnapped by another, rather more authentic stage cowboy. This book has an awful lot, folks: murder, Theatre, cowboys, turn-of-the-century Hollywood, labor rights, addiction, insane asylums, and more! Fans of “Murder with the Devil and Friends” will probably enjoy this one (I did). Recommended.

“The Amulet of Samarkand” by Jonathan Stroud (reread) - A young magician in the heart of the British Empire summons a djinni to steal an artifact from the man who humiliated him, and fucks it up worse than any other protagonist I’ve ever read. The story is half told from his perspective, and half told from the perspective of the snarky, self-aggrandizing djinni whom he has enslaved to carry out the theft. Mr. Stroud did not pull his punches with this one, I tell you what. Still, it works infinitely better as part of a trilogy than on its own, maybe more than any other Book One I’ve read. Recommended.

“The Golem’s Eye” by Jonathan Stroud (reread) - MR. STROUD DID NOT PULL HIS PUNCHES WITH THIS ONE, I TELL YOU WHAT. Our young magician from the last book continues fucking things up, but this time while the djinni ruthlessly roasts him for his fashion sense while the two of them try to get to the bottom of a series of mysterious break-ins. We also get to spend some time with our third protagonist, a young woman who has a resilience to magic and is part of a small Resistance, whose goal is to break the stranglehold the magicians have on the government. Boy, if you thought Book 1 was scathingly critical of empires and those who run them, Book 2 doubles down on it hard. Chillingly relevant, despite being written in 2004. Stroud also does a great job writing a protagonist who exhibits the very real disease of being 14. Recommended. (Bonus points for correctly attributing golems to Jewish tradition!)

“Ptolemy’s Gate” by Jonathan Stroud (reread) - MR. STROUD DID NOT COME TO FUCK AROUND, GODDAMN. The thrilling conclusion to the Bartimaeus trilogy, and it really delivers on every front. No setup goes without payoff. Honestly, it feels like these 3 books are really just one very long book, because details from Book 1 and Book 2 come back with real significance, little fanfare, and a hell of a lot of momentum. I really fucking love this series, and this book drives home why. Recommended.

“How to be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi - Dr. Kendi defines racism, antiracism, and many related terms and intersections, goes through the origins and history of racism as well as his own journey from being raised in a racist world to choosing to be antiracist. A greatly clarifying and galvanizing read, at least for me. Dense at times, but well worth slowing down for. Recommended.

“Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Vol 2” by MXTX - Things get much worse but also much gayer for our fast-talking protagonist - although really the vast majority of this book is about side-stories that happened many years in the past. The side-stories are really good though, and add to the narrative tension rather than distracting from it. I really do think this series (and probably all MXTX novels) could be used as a masterclass in non-linear storytelling. Recommended.

“Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix” (vol. 1) by Shiro Amano - An abridged version of the story of KH1 told in graphic novel format: kid’s world is swallowed by darkness, he gets separated from his two friends, he somehow acquires a magic key-sword that lets him fight the creatures of darkness, he goes on a quest to find his friends and ends up saving a bunch of Disney worlds along the way. It’s got some interesting little tidbits and alternate translations (and very, very cute art), so I certainly enjoyed it. Recommended if you’re already a KH fan or if you want to get the basic story without playing several hundred hours of games or watching a few dozen hours of cutscenes.

“Heaven Official’s Blessing: Vol 2” by MXTX - The plot thickens and things get worse for the protagonist (and isn't that just a summary of all MXTX novels?). I had some trouble with keeping all the names straight in this one because everyone has three names and it's a little trickier when I don't have a face to pin them all to, but it's still a good read. You can feel the plot putting on weight like a teenager getting ready for a growth spurt. Plus there's a really fun scene in a gambling den that is simultaneously the most chaste and the dirtiest thing I've ever read in published fiction. Recommended.

“Dracula” by Bram Stoker (reread, via Dracula Daily) - A fresh methodology on the old classic. I'd forgotten some of the twists and turns since I read this book back in high school, and the "daily" format is something I'd long wanted to engage in (i.e., reading a book that has a set timeline according to that timeline). The community of memes and analyses was a great joy to partake in, too. Recommended, particularly via Dracula Daily (there's always next year!)

"Dreadnought" by April Daniels - A teenage trans girl inherits a superhero mantle that not only gives her superpowers, but the body she's always wanted. This causes a tremendous amount of problems and immediately flings her into a mire of political turmoil while having to navigate high school and an abusive father. This is a book that knows its stuff back to front and remixes it adeptly. Recommended, but with trigger warnings for abuse, transphobia, and some fairly disturbing gore (and that's coming from me).

"Heaven Official's Blessing: Vol 3" by MXTX - The plot thickens, and things get worse for the protagonist. No, I mean really, REALLY worse. But there's also a damn good kiss in there, and plenty of other fun stuff to keep it from being oppressively grim. Recommended.

"Ancillary Justice" by Ann Leckie - A fragment of a ship's AI, confined to a human body, seeks revenge for the murder of her favorite lieutenant. Unfortunately, the person she's seeking vengeance against happens to be the emperor of a massive, millennia-old space empire, whose consciousness occupies a thousand bodies. A sedately paced, intricately built story about love and imperialism and culture and war and music. If you like Robots With Feelings, complex political dramas, or conlangs, this book is for you. Recommended.

"Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Vol 3" by MXTX - This one is primarily flashback, although not all the same flashback (have I mentioned the whole "masterclass in nonlinear storytelling" thing yet?) and stitched together in a way that flows naturally and keeps you reading to the very end. Also, a damn good kiss in there (vol 3 seems to be the magic number for that). But also also, some really fucking horrifying gore, to the point that I went: "who looked at this and decided they could make a show that got past the censors?" I mean, they were right, whoever they were, they managed it and "The Untamed" kicked ass, but I have to wonder what kind of person rolled up their sleeves to do it. Recommended.

"The Long Earth" by Stephen Baxter and Terry Pratchett - The course of human history is forever changed when a rogue scientist releases the designs for a device that allows people to step to parallel Earths, all of which seem to be uninhabited. A young man named Joshua, able to step without the aid of a device, is recruited by an artificial intelligence to go on an expedition to find what's at the end of the seemingly infinite stack of Earths. An interesting read with a lot of cool speculation about alternate Earths and some very grounded and unfortunately relevant observations on the nature of humanity. It doesn't read like a Pratchett, although it has some very Pratchett-esque concepts in it. I liked it okay, but not enough to particularly want to read any of the sequels.

"Moving Pictures" by Terry Pratchett (reread) - The wild ideas of Holy Wood are escaping into the Discworld and causing hauntingly familiar scenes to play out in a little spit of desert by the sea - but anywhere where Things That Don't Exist can become Things That Do Exist, there will be Things That Want To Exist trying to come through.... Dryly funny as standard for Pratchett, and probably at least a quarter written just to see how many film references he could upend in one go. Featuring (what I think are) the first appearances of Gaspode The Wonder Dog and Archchancellor Munstrum Ridcully. Recommended.

"Fadeout" by Joseph Hanson - Dave Brandstetter, an insurance investigator who is "contentedly gay," investigates the mysterious disappearance of a small-town entertainer who hit the big time. Atmospheric, noir-adjacent, and pleasantly twisty, this mystery also benefits from half the cast being queer. It would be excellent if written today, and considering that it was written in the sixties, it's in a league of its own. Recommended.

"Are Prisons Obsolete?" by Angela Davis - A novelette-length essay on the origins, consequences, and possible alternatives to the prison-industrial complex, as well as a litany of reasons why it's imperative for the health of our society that the carceral state be dismantled. Thought-provoking and perspective-shifting in many ways. Recommended.

"Station Eternity" by Mur Lafferty - Mallory Viridian seems to constantly be followed by murders - and constantly finds herself solving them, too. She thought escaping Earth to a sentient space station would free her from her 'curse,' but, whoops, it doesn't. Featuring multiple sentient alien species, military interferism plots, eighty percent of a romance, and several murder cases across space and time, this felt like a book trying to do too many things at once, each interfering with the execution of the others. The detective story got lost in the space station story, and the space station story suffered from having to serve a detective story. The dialogue and the plot both clunked audibly at times, although the third act featured a clever twist and a fairly satisfying finale. The book wasn't so grating that I gave up on it, but I was glad to be done with it.

"Iron Widow" by Xiran Jay Zhao - A young woman living in a world that’s a milieu of ancient and modern China seeks vengeance against the celebrity kaiju pilot who killed her sister. And then seeks vengeance against the system which allowed said sister to be killed. And then decides: "since this system is fucking over everyone and everything I care about, how about I fuck it right back?" It's like Pacific Rim meets Handmaid's Tale meets real Chinese history, and that’s not even getting into the nuanced and incisive meditations on gender and sexuality. Recommended, but with content warnings for body horror, familial abuse, heavily implied sexual assault, and hardcore misogyny.

ُThis is something that has been on my mind, ever since I've settled on Gonta being Emu in my DanganSEKAI AU: how Gonta would talk.

Since Gonta isn't raised by wolves in this AU (I'm going to downplay a lot of backstories in this AU), I'd imagine that Gonta wouldn't speak in the caveman talk that he did in canon. And it's honestly kind of cursed (yet adorable) to imagine Gonta saying something like "super-duper-sparkly-warkly-jiggly-wiggly-huzzah-ful". Currently, I'm imagining this Gonta's speech patterns to be some kind of weird combination of speaking in the third person, using high-class vocabulary, and mixing in random made-up words (words like ecstatical-licious or magifimagical) to sound more "gentlemanly". I also imagined that Gonta would use "Butter-hi!" and "Butterbye" as greetings, much like Emu's "Wandahoi!".

I was also wondering about the general motif of the Gokuhara-owned theme park. I'd imagine that it would be a gigantic botanical garden (complete with a wide-variety of butterflies and fruit plants, and possibly their own brand of fruit spreads) that also happens to have performance stages. Gonta's parents would plan on getting rid of the gardens, and it would be up to Garden X Grandness to convince them not to. I was originally considering the park to be cowboy-themed, as a reference to Gonta's execution, before scrapping that. (Maybe I could turn this idea into an event.)

Because Kaito still retains his interest in plants, I'd imagine that he would be a massive fan of this theme park and go there all the time with Aries/Quad.

(On an extra note, I've also enacted some talent swaps on the cast, to make them seem somewhat more probable in the slice-of-life setting. Kaito is now an Astronomer, Maki is now an actual Child Caregiver, Celestia is now a Magician, Mondo is now a Motorcyclist, Fuyuhiko is now a CEO, Kiibo is now a Gamer, and HPF/Midnight are now all Reserve Course Students.)

NFL Week 15

A.J. Brown came to play this weekend. Against the Bears Brown finished his afternoon with 9 receptions for 181 yards with zero touchdowns. After watching the tape I’m sure Brown is mad at himself because he easily could’ve had a 200 yard performance but a few drops kept him short of setting a personal record. Brown made plays all over the field helping his team to victory. DeVonta Smith was on the other side of the formation getting off. Smith caught a 45 yard bender route midway through the 2nd quarter and followed that catch up with a sweet inside fade where he jumped up moss’n the defender. Smith finished the game with 5 catches for 126 yards. It’ll be interesting to see how the Eagles finish the year considering QB Jalen Hurts is battling a shoulder injury. 

In the greatest game I have ever watched this…K.J. Osborn was born. With his team down 33 points with 8:22 remaining in the 3rd quarter Osborn scored the teams first touchdown. Osborn had a few drops early but finished the afternoon with 10 catches for 157 yards and that lone score. He and Justin Jefferson put on a clinic. The leagues leader in yards Justin Jefferson added to his total with 12 catches for 123 yards and one touchdown. Watching the Minnesota Vikings comeback was nothing short of astonishing. But even more climatic would be to see Jefferson break 2000 yards this season. With 3 games remaining Jefferson just needs to average 125.6 yards a game to be the record holder.

Ceedee Lamb has had an impressive second half of the season. I won’t lie I kind of wrote him off after many of the early season drops he was having. But as of late he’s been balling out. Against the Jacksonville Jaguars Lamb caught all 7 pass attempts for 126 yards. He didn’t score but Lamb played aggressive and hungry all afternoon. Lamb broke tackles and did not let the first defender bring him down. He’s eclipsed 1000 yards receiving already and has a chance to possibly get over 1400 for the year. 

Speed Kills. I couldn’t imagine playing wideout with the type of speed that Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill Have. Waddle had over 100 yards with just two of his catches. He finished the game with 3 catches for 114 yards and one touchdown. As I stated in one of my posts earlier this year, Tua would be the X-factor to how productive the wideouts in Miami could be. His inability to push the ball down the field and his inconsistency with ball placement has hindered the duo tremendously. 

This weeks WOW award goes to Zay Jones of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Zay was a huge part of why his team erased a 17-point lead against the Dallas Cowboys. Jones had completed the afternoon with a magician’s hat trick. Jones scored on a shallow cross, a stutter and go, plus a snag route on the goal line. The jaguars have had a wideout make the blog 3 straight weeks. Their wideout core is trending up and I wouldn’t want to be a team facing them as they make a push to secure a wild card spot in the playoffs. 

Last but certainly worth it is another name new to my ears. Jahan Dotson of the Washington Commanders had himself a fantastic game in a losing effort. Dotson caught 4 balls for 105 yards and touchdown-on a bang post he caught between two defenders in the endzone. His highlight catch came on a playaction post where he moss’d a defender for a 61 yard completion. 

As the season nears its end I want all the wideouts to finish strong. Push a little harder, do a little more, and ball to the wheels fall. Wideouts Let’s Go!

Magician!Kylo?!? This could be set any time, but I picture it in the Victorian era where occultism is high! Tall, dark, very dark, handsome, definitely mysterious and can hypnotize you with a touch or a glance! Fog, firelight, darkness, decadence, horse drawn carriage sex lol. Lots of possibilities! I hope you love this idea as much as I would love to be his on stage assistant! Thank you for all your wonderful writing!!!

Oil lamps flicker and flare along the damp street lamps, as boots and heels scuff cobblestone. Horses whinny in the rain, chuff and neigh as their masters urge them down the streets, down down down towards the theater, the only bright attraction in this dull corner of London.

The line moves quickly as thunder cracks, as lightning illuminates the inky black alleys, as working class people on their night off shuffle into the theater. Sixpence was an easy price to pay, and nearly all could afford it – and nearly all did, and nearly all showed up, waited with bated breath for admission, waited to see him.

Kylo Ren the Incredible, the Magical, the Great.

The crowd murmurs in their seats, just beyond the red velvet drapes. They are thick and lined with fringe of gold, that had been your choice, your request. Nothing spoke of an enchanting beginning to an extraordinary evening, than velvet drapes. It is a full house, this evening showing sold out, and quiet excitement thrills you as you twist and stretch in your outfit.

Kylo is at your throat, as he always tends to be. His white gloves grasping at your breast, as he sucks a mark just below your ear, hums into your pulse. You grin, he’s excited about this show, has a new act, has a new means to dazzle and amaze – and tonight is its debut.

“The show begins soon,” You warn, doing nothing to dissuade him from ravishing you, “Darling you must go to your mark.”

“In a moment, I’ll go in a moment.” He murmurs, making you laugh enough that you must stifle the sound of it, for the music is dying down. When the music ends, the show begins, and truly, Kylo must get to his mark.

Yet he still buries his face into your tits, takes a deep breath of the sweet powdered perfume you laid there, makes you smile. The scar which splits his face shines in the low lamp-light, before he is nothing more than a puff of smoke, making you roll your eyes once again. You’re immune to his charms, you know all his tricks. Or do you?

“Ladies and gentlemen,” Kylo’s voice surrounds the theater, and the crowd goes deathly still as they try to pinpoint how who what where why – “I welcome you, to our show.”

The curtains open to an empty stage, although it only remains empty for a moment, only for an instant, before sparks fly from the floor and when the fireworks have settled there he is, there is your Kylo. The crowd gasps, and you can see from just beyond the wings of the stage, that Kylo quirks a grin.

For an hour he dazzles them, card tricks and illusions that get them enchanted, get them entranced. Kylo pulls coins from the ears of small children in the audience and makes them laugh, gives the coins to the children whom Kylo knows have never held one of such worth before. He pulls doves from his top hat, materializes eggs and ribbons from thin air, and you sit in the wings and enjoy the way that the crowd oos and ahhs, for surely such feats are impossible. 

But then, then it is time for this new trick, then it is time for you.

He introduces you to the stage, and the crowd sits up a little straighter in their seats, watches as your fishnet clad legs stalk across to where Kylo stands at center stage. You push out a great big box on wheels, and the crowd gasps, because what could possibly be inside?

“Marvelous, isn’t she? My beautiful wife.” Kylo says, so softly that almost no one can hear it, says it just for you. He turns to the audience then as you set up the act, as you open the box and reveal that there is nothing inside. “You know my good people, sometimes I think she’s so incredible, I wish I could have two of her.”

You smile, before climbing into the box, waving to the audience before Kylo closes the box onto you, so that only your head and legs are exposed.

“In fact, tonight I think I just might get my wish.” Kylo says, as he spins the box around to show the audience that there are no strings to this trick.

Your heart pounds, you hope it works, you hope the illusion is a success.

The audience gasps when Kylo pulls out a great big saw – cartoonish almost, in its size and shape. The saw’s teeth are razor sharp, or so they appear. The audience doesn’t know, they are on the edge of their seats.

Kylo opens the door of the boxes so your body is visible through the little glass windows, and somewhere out in the theater, a child asks if you’re going to be alright. He then closes the doors, and begins to saw through you, begins to hack into your body.

You scream, deliciously and loud, as the crack snap pop of your flesh and bone make the audience cover their eyes, their ears, their mouths. Kylo grins like a maniac, like some unhinged monster, as he saws into you, all the way through to the very bottom.

“Do you think we got her?” Kylo asks the audience as he removes the saw, “I’m not so sure.”

He inserts more blades through the center of the box, by now the crowd is shouting, hollering, demanding to know what he thinks he’s doing. You try not to laugh at their rage on your behalf.

He pushes apart the two halves of the box, wheels them each around so that the audience can see you are fully cut in half, contained in each section. 

Your legs kick on one end of the stage, your body writhes on the other. There are shocked gasps, children standing up to get a better look only for their parents to yank them back down into their seat again, as Kylo spins the two halves of your body independently. 

“Kylo!” You shout, mock-angry and not in any pain at all, “Kylo put me back together this instance!”

“But darling I was just having a little fun.” Kylo playfully responds, stunning the audience.

How are you not dead? They saw the blades stick into your body, they heard the crunch of your bones. How are you still berating him, how are you still alive?

“My foot itches.” You complain, and one of your legs kicks dramatically, making them laugh, reminding them that this is nothing more than some incredible trick.

“As you wish my dear, I shall stitch your body together before all these good people, so that they may bear witness to our greatness.” Kylo rounds up the two boxes once more, fits them together.

He waves his hands over them, and all the latches and clasps pop and snap together. He pulls out all the blades, the saws and swords. You give a loud moan or two for good measure, the relief of your limbs attached once more flooding through you. 

And then, the box is opened, and out you climb, and the audience has their jaws dropped.

You bend and twist your body around, showing them all that there’s not a mark on you – well, not one caused by swords at least, lest they look too close to your throat. And when you’re in Kylo’s arms once more, when you strike your pose as the music crescendos to an end, the crowd roars with applause.

It is the most remarkable thing they have ever seen, the most incredible, the most confounding, the most astounding thing – and they do not know how to process it other than with raucous applause.

The spotlight shines on you and your man, your Kylo, as you take your bows, as he thanks the audience for their attendance, as they ask for more more more beyond the spill of light. They call your names and throw roses at your feet, a simple thanks for transporting them to a world so much more fascinating than their own.

When the last of the crowd has gone, when all that remains is fog and the eerie crank of music, when there’s murmurs on the streets of how did they do that? Kylo grins against your mouth, licks across your teeth, holds you close in silent gratitude, in an embrace tighter than your corset.

And as the red velvet drapes close, you cast a gaze to the empty seats, the echoes of their cheers lofting in the rafters. Kylo snaps his wrist and the lamps blow out and you can’t help but roll your eyes fondly at this man, this man you so adore, with all his occultist tendencies, with all his supernatural powers.

Or were they supernatural at all? You don’t know.

After all, a magician never reveals his secrets.
