Bestowing someone with a bottle of their favorite tipple is a tried-and-true gifting strategy that never fails to lift “spirits” during the holidays, or at any time of year for that matter. However, you can elevate your libation selection this season and give it a personalized flair by choosing a bottle of locally distilled, uniquely crafted liquor from the farmers market. To help you match the perfect bottle to its recipient, here is a “refresher” on the different types of liquors featured by our catalog of spirits vendors across our markets this month and some background on how they’re produced using a range of locally sourced ingredients and artisanal techniques.  1. Bitters Think of bitters as the herbs and spices of the mixology world. These alluring tinctures sold in petite bottles with oversized labels are high-proof spirits infused with botanical matter such as barks, berries, citrus peels, flowers and roots. A neutral grain alcohol such as Everclear or vodka is typically used as the liquid base for bitters so as not to interfere with the resulting taste profile and to help extract flavor during the infusion process. However, spirits with a more robust character such as rye and rum can also be used to contribute their own flavors to the final product.  Bitters are doled out sparsely in small droplets and dashes but are essential for introducing complexity, dimension and balance into a range of classic cocktails from the Old Fashioned to the Manhattan. Because they are consumed in such negligible quantities, a dash of bitters can be splashed into club soda or sparkling water to make a bubbly and refreshing drink with only trace amounts of alcohol.  2. Whiskey Whiskey is the general term used to describe an alcoholic liquor made from fermented cereal grains, water and yeast. Depending on the geographical origin and style of whiskey, the grains used in whiskey production can include barley, corn, rye, wheat and oats. Different combinations and percentages of grains (which may or may not be malted) are used to produce different variations of whiskey. For instance, bourbon is a type of whiskey originating from Bourbon County, Kentucky that is made from a grain mixture with at least 51% corn. When making their artisanal whiskey offerings, Down to Earth’s vendors use a variety of New York-grown grains to produce their proprietary mash bills:
Hudson Whiskey NY has always been known for its big, bold flavor: they like to think of it as New York attitude (and New York grains) distilled. And like New York itself, their whiskey is in a class of its own. Thanks to high-quality grain from local family farmers and straight up, undiluted mash bills, they’re able to create the purest possible expressions of each grain and truly make whiskey the way they want to: Bold yet refined; artful and unapologetic.
Nahmias et Fils Distillery, based in Yonkers, NY, is the northeast's only producer of a traditional Moroccan fig eau de vie called Mahia. They also make aged and un-aged versions of Legs Diamond 100% rye whiskey using organic rye sourced from farms in upstate New York. Every bottle is made from scratch in their New York distillery. Nahmias et Fils was honored with a 2017 Good Food Award for their Legs Diamond Rye.
Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery uses Adirondack Mountain water from their own property as the basis for a range of fun and flavorful spirits made and bottled in small batches in a renovated horse barn. Springbrook’s Adirondack High Rye Bourbon is made from local corn, rye, and malted barley and aged in heavy char oak barrels to offer the perfectly balanced combination of bold and sweet. Their Adirondack Blended Straight Bourbon is a smooth, full-bodied whiskey that is an artful combination of the distillery’s own straight bourbon with their library of bourbons of different ages and mash bills.
3. Vodka Vodka is a clear, colorless alcoholic beverage with a neutral aroma and taste traditionally made by distilling liquid from fermented cereal grains or potatoes. Both Poland and Russia claim to be the birthplace of vodka, which is diminutive for the Russian word “voda” meaning water, however the first documented production of vodka occurred at the end of the 9th century in Russia. This highly popular beverage was consumed mainly in Russia and Eastern Europe until it made its way to North America during World War I. The first vodka sold in the U.S. was distilled in Bethel, Connecticut in 1934 after which it underwent a meteoric rise to become the most-consumed liquor in the country. Pick up a bottle of Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery’s Two Sisters Vodka this Saturday. It’s made from wheat and Adirondack Mountain water from their own property and passed through a charcoal filter to polish its flavor and aroma. And, for a little taste of Italian sunshine, their Double Gold Award Winning Two Sisters Limoncello is a vodka-based lemon liqueur is made with only the zest of the fruit, giving it a fresh, fruity flavor with less sugar content. Serve it on the rocks or with your favorite mixer. Not to be outdone, the zesty, fresh squeezed orange aroma of their Two Sisters Orangecello will make it a staple at your bar for you to enjoy ice-cold, paired with dessert or as a creative addition to a variety of home-made cuisine. 4. Gin Gin is a distilled alcoholic drink made from a grain base such as wheat or barley that must be predominantly flavored with juniper berries. Producers can also add other botanicals, herbs and spices to give their gin its own distinctive profile. Given the popularity of gin & tonics, Pimm’s Cup and other signature gin-based drinks, many people mistakenly believe that gin comes from England. However, the modern incarnation of gin was invented in the Netherlands during the 16th century when a Dutch doctor named Franciscus Sylvius de la Boe first made a schnaps distilled with juniper berries called “Genever” (Dutch for juniper berry) that he intended to be consumed for medical purposes. Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery’s Sly Fox Gin is a small-batch artisanal gin made with juniper berries and the essence of botanicals to give it an exotic burst of flavor. Sly Fox Gin won a Gold Medal at "The 50 Best" Spirits Competition and, like their other spirits, it’s created with Springbrook Hollow water from the Adirondack Mountains. This gin’s silky flavor can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in your favorite gin cocktail.  5. Zero Proof Options A bottle of kosher-certified Caribbean Hibiscus will make a great option for the non-drinkers in your crowd. Their non-alcoholic sorrel wine and cocktail mixer is all-natural, gluten-free and a refreshingly exotic beverage for people who want a fun, flavorful drink but are careful about their health. It's handcrafted and bottled fresh here in New York.  You can rest assured that a selection of any of these locally procured, inventive spirits will make the perfect last-minute or mindfully curated gift this season. We hope that this second installment in our holiday-shopping themed newsletters helps cross yet more presents off your list as we raise a glass of holiday cheer to you and yours!

Craft Spirits Market - Forecast (2022 - 2027)
The Craft Spirits Market size is estimated to reach $124.7 billion by 2027 and is poised to grow at a CAGR of 21.4% over the forecast period of 2022-2027. A craft distillery follows the importance of transparency in distilling, which translates into a fair use of ingredients. Moreover, the craft distiller should not produce more than 750,000 gallons annually. Lastly, the spirits distillation location should be communicated to the concerned authorities with that bottling location, and the process along with the aging process should be communicated as well. Furthermore, the craft distiller should hold ownership of 51% or more of the DSP to be labeled as a craft distillery. Craft spirits are distilled in small quantities, and some of the famous forms of craft spirits include gin, vodka, and rum. People’s craze regarding alcohol consumption is growing, and millennials are now preferring local craft spirits as they are locally outsourcing the said ingredients from local farms which in turn are boosting the local demand. Additionally, craft distillers are now adding a USP in terms of product innovation which can aid health. The consolidation of the industry along with the consumption of alcohol which follows sustainable production methods are some of the factors driving the Craft Spirits Industry forward in the projected period of 2022-2027.

Key Takeaways
Geographically, North America held a dominant market share in the year 2021 owing to a vast network of craft distilleries. Additionally, the millennial population of the west has been adopting and demanding such locally crafted spirits as each one of them offer something different, and studies have indicated that people tend to drink more when they associate liquor with emotion. However, Asia-Pacific is expected to offer lucrative growth opportunities to the marketers owing to the rising millennial population and their inclination to consume alcohol as the trend governs.
The consolidation of the industry along with the consumption of alcohol which follows sustainable production methods are some of the factors driving the Craft Spirits Market. However, high cost pertaining to craft spirits in comparison with bulk manufacturers has been a market impeding factor.
A detailed analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats will be provided in the Craft Spirits Market Report.
Craft Spirits Market Segmentation Analysis - By Type
The Craft Spirits Market based on type can be further segmented into Whiskey, Gin, Vodka, Brandy, Rum, and Others. Whiskey held a dominant market share in the year 2021. It is owing to the extreme and unique taste which is offered by the said product domain. Product innovations over the years have allowed whiskey to provide certain medicinal benefits as well. Distillers are now adding various herbs and spices, to elongate the offering for taste purposes as well as for medicinal benefits. Whiskey has high levels of polyphenols, an antioxidant that has proven to reduce the LDL or bad cholesterol and substantiate the HDL or good cholesterol. Within the US, around 51% of adults have unprecedented levels of cholesterol, which whiskey can help.
However, vodka is estimated to be the fastest-growing, with a CAGR of 21.9% over the forecast period of 2022-2027. Vodka has been unprecedently used in craft spirits, especially the millennials are favoring canned cocktails, and vodka has various flavors such as orange-apple-lemon-light or hard, hence, vodka can be substantiated into different uses which will aid the product demand.

Craft Spirits Market Segmentation Analysis - By Distribution Channel
The Craft Spirits Market based on distribution channels can be further segmented into Off-Trade Channels and On-Trade Channels. On-Trade Channels held a dominant market share in the year 2021. It is owing to the opening of restaurants-bars and pubs- and various other ancillaries whose sales have substantially picked up post-vaccination and opening of economies. Moreover, liquor has been linked to the overall ambiance, and consumers prefer to drink such craft spirits in environments where they can socialize and bond with other pupils.
However, Off-Trade Channels are estimated to be the fastest-growing, with a CAGR of 22.1% over the forecast period of 2022-2027. It is owing to the cost-benefit one can take advantage of while opting for such channels. Owing to various taxes and surcharges such as sales tax or service tax, the overall cost of end-products rises, which users can mitigate by choosing the sale channel. For example, SLO Canned Cocktails, a pack of four RTDs are available for $17.99. However, the same alcohol content can cost somewhere close to $62-$65 for a pair of four cans.
Craft Spirits Market Segmentation Analysis - By Geography
The Craft Spirits Market based on geography can be further segmented into North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, South America, and the Rest of the World. North America held the largest share of 38% as compared to the other regions in 2021. It is owing to the sheer size of the craft distiller market. Recently, it was valued at $6.7 billion in revenue terms. Additionally, the region has prominent craft distillers which are responsible for such staggering numbers.
However, Asia-Pacific is expected to offer lucrative growth opportunities to marketers in the projected period of 2022-2027. It is owing to a rising inclination to set up local breweries and craft distillers such as United Spirits that has propelled the start for craft spirits manufacturing in India. Lastly, a major chunk of the millennial population is concentrated in the likes of India, which is responsible for a surging alcohol demand in the projected period. Liquor consumption and urbanization have had a close associated correlation, thereby, with the increase in urbanization the consumption for craft spirits would grow.

Craft Spirits Market Drivers
The growing number of craft distilleries owing to the demand generation has been a key market driver
Consumers have grown extremely weary of the presence of local breweries, especially craft distilleries. Owing to such demand, a substantial increment has been in terms of new market entrants. Consumers have now been aware that sustainable products benefit them as well as the supplier/raw material manufacturer or processors. For example, US Craft Spirits Association went on to say that despite COVID-19, the market hasn’t stopped growing. Interestingly, liquor has been the most steadfast product domain which didn’t halt owing to the pandemic. The number of craft distilleries grew by 1.1% from August 2020 to August 2021. The market registered a sales equivalent of>$5 billion in 2020. The figures show robustness in terms of market affliction. Moreover, the volume differentiation between the sales from craft spirits and non-craft spirits was 3% in favor of the former.
The use of AI-ML has created a huge potential for market growth
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning were being heavily used in all other industries, however, the advent of AI-ML in making craft spirits has created a huge market potential, which experts estimate would help in bypassing the sales growth in comparison with non-craft spirits. The volume has upped from 2.2% in 2015 to 4.7% in 2020. Additionally, the value of craft spirits has grown from earlier 3% in 2015 to 7.1% in 2020. The major reason has been consumer demand, but the supply side has been aided by the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Some of the common ways through which AI is used is, AI cognitive services will be fed raw data including the distillery’s legacy recipes, sales numbers, and customer preferences. The algorithm can then generate more than 70 million recipes, that should be both popular and tasty.

Craft Spirits Market Challenges
The market is highly concentrated which is supplemented by relatively higher costs, leading to a differentiated sales pattern
The market of craft distilleries has been under pressure in terms of market concentration. Moreover, the exports have shrunk from the US, as a decrement of 32.9% has been seen in 2020. Additionally, employments have shrunk by nearly 50% from 2019. Moreover, the large producers severely outpace the small producers owing to low capital tapping potential. 1.6% of the total craft producers are termed “large” and they represent a value equivalent to 57%. However, the majority of 90.1 craft distilleries are small, and they only supplement the demand for 10.3% annually. Additionally, the cost anomalies are high in comparison to big-brewhouses as they have capital infusion powers. Non-craft distillers have the potential to bring FDIs and start factories in low-labor countries, which in the case of craft distillers is absent. The following becomes a prime reason for cost-disparity.
Craft Spirits Market Industry Outlook
Product launches, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and geographical expansions are key strategies adopted by players in this market. Craft Spirits top 10 companies include:
Asheville Distilling Company
BALCONES Distilling
Black Dirt Distillery
Copper Fox Distillery
Dark Corner Distillery

With the summer heat rolling in I really wanted to take a moment and highlight a program I am a big fan of, A.N.E.
Tumblr media
"Adopt-A-Native-Elder (A.N.E.) serves to help reduce extreme poverty and hardship facing traditional Elders living on the Navajo Reservation. A.N.E. is a trusted humanitarian organization focused on delivering food, medical supplies, firewood and other forms of Elder support. Respecting the tradition and dignity of Navajo Elders, we create relationships and honor and serve the Elders. The Program is organized in the Native American Spirit of the Giveaway Circle. The Giveaway Circle has a tradition of giving the best that we have. That may be a gift of time, talents or skills, or actual gifts of food and donations. When asked what the boxes of food meant to her, Ruth Benally explained that they were like "miracles from the sky." The miracle is the letters and gifts that arrive from people that they don't know and may never meet. For over 30 years, Adopt-A-Native-Elder has used an integrated approach to go beyond charity to assist indigent Elders on the Navajo Reservation in Utah and Arizona."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A.N.E also puts on an annual rug show & sale, you can read about last years here. Apart from their annual events they also host an online shop where you can buy jewelry, woven baskets, and elder made rugs. All proceeds go towards providing support for our elders be it food, medical assistance, firewood, weaving supplies and so much more.
Not in the market for beautifully made Indigenous crafts? Well they also accept general donations, buy specific items for elders in need, food certificate sponsors, rug show sponsors, and of course adopting an elder.

A BRAND NEW SIMS 3 WORLD : SHETLAND HARBOUR
And here we are ... At last :D
10 years ago, Rope crafted a remarkable world, inspired by Starlight Shores, and generously given away to the community : Brightwater.
We embraced this gift, transforming and reshaping it, creating an island to eliminate distant terrain, and thus, Shetland Harbour was born ...
While many creators have fashioned stunning Sims 3 worlds with a Northern charm—like Saaqartoq, Greymont Bay, Lillebror, or Plymouth Isles—ours, stands a little apart.
Shetland Harbour is a unique blend : a touch of Aurora Skies, a hint of Moonlight Falls, and a dash of the unfortunate Barnacle Bay, all interwoven with our own vision of course. It is a vast yet easily navigable world, balanced between lightness and richness, featuring nearly all the Rabbit Holes the game offers.
Our aim was to craft a cohesive and vibrant world, one that feels alive and contemporary, with harmonious architecture and a spirit that invites exploration and delight :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome to Shetland Harbour, a picturesque coastal town nestled between rolling green hills and a fantastic bay … It is a beautiful medium/large-sized world, a community nestled on its own secluded island, accessible only by ferry. The town is known for its charming cobblestone streets, a vibrant fish market, and a rich history dating back centuries, dotted with quaint cottages, a bustling coast, and a grand lighthouse standing guard at the harbor’s entrance ...
This hidden gem is a haven for sheep, but don't let that fool you – Shetland Harbour is far from a sleepy place. With its rich maritime history, the town offers a unique blend of tradition and vibrant local culture.
Designed to capture the essence of a northern European island, Shetland Harbour offers a self-contained community with 100 lots in total : 65 residential lots + 35 community lots. Each Lot ( except the Old Renovated Factory ) is fully furnished.
In addition, there are multiple sheep ( all by Murfeel ) fields here and there – the latter being especially dear to the local culture, a close-knit community, where the ocean's presence is always felt and the simplicity of rural life is celebrated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shetland Harbour combines a lively downtown with peaceful suburbs and serene neighborhoods, featuring quaint cottages, charming gardens, and scenic paths through lush greenery.
The town's historic churches, like Old Church, Albert Church or Lux Chapel, are steeped in tales of ancient rituals and ghostly apparitions ... Albert Church, built on a Druidic site, is haunted by druid spirits, while Lux Chapel is known for the ghost of a sailor, seen on stormy nights ...
The mysterious stone circle inside the Graveyard, Ghost Place, adds to the island's mystical allure. Rumored to be a portal to another realm, it activates during celestial alignments, with visitors reporting strange occurrences. Town elders speak of a prophecy foretelling the return of ancient spirits and the awakening of the island's mystical powers. Signs include a rare star alignment, the stone circle's awakening, and three chosen individuals with the island's ancient bloodline ...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Harbor Bay : The central feature of Shetland Harbour is its expansive bay. The bay is a natural harbor with calm, crystal-clear waters, making it ideal for fishing and sailing. It is surrounded by gently sloping hills and cliffs that provide stunning vistas of the sea. The marina is bustling with fishing boats, sailboats, and yachts sometimes … It’s the hub of maritime activity, with a fish market ( aka Grocery Store ), boat repairs, and a sailing club ( aka Business and Journalism Center )
• Lighthouse District : Right beside the Harbour, stands the Lighthouse Point, this district features historical homes and buildings, including a Norman cottage, a strange Diner and higher into the Hills, a fantastic museum dedicated to the town’s maritime history and a recent Hospital ready to welcome all the citizens of Shetland Harbour :)
• Beaches : The Coastline is dotted with sandy beaches, perfect for beachcombing, picnics, and bonfires. These areas are popular spots for locals and tourists alike. And you may want building some Coastal Houses for your Sims which is possible almost all alongside the sea ;)
• Old Town : The heart of Shetland Harbour is the Old Town, characterized by cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and a charming town square. Shetland Harbour's downtown area is a kinda picturesque pedestrian square, and quaint paths perfect for leisurely strolls …The Old Town includes the Town Hall, the Old Toad, the Talking Dog, a Fish and Chips, and even a Geek Store, all of them under the shadow of one of the oldest shop of the Island : the Elixirium ...
• Rolling Hills : Surrounding the town are rolling green hills covered in wildflowers and dotted with grazing sheep. These hills are perfect for hiking and offer panoramic views of the town and the bay. Beware of the fog !
• Forests and Woodlands : To the north of the town are more dense forests and woodlands with waterfalls upstream of the river which separates part of the island. These areas are home to various wildlife and provide a natural retreat for the residents. There are several well-maintained trails for hiking and exploring :)

A Day with Uncle Klaus
Five Hargreeves x reader
A/N: I hope you forgive me that this little story is more about Maddie and her uncle Klaus. Can you imagine how sweet Klaus would be to his little niece?
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Maddie Hargreeves, the six-year-old daughter of Five and Y/N, was a bundle of energy. She had inherited her father's curiosity and her mother's kindness, but she also had a unique gift of her own: the ability to make things float. Today, she was set to spend the day with her favorite uncle, Klaus, known for his mischievous charm and penchant for chaos.
"Are you sure you're up for this?" Y/N asked, her eyes filled with a mix of amusement and concern.
Klaus waved a dismissive hand. "Please, I've dealt with spirits, apocalypses, and your husband. How much trouble can one little girl with telekinesis be?"
Y/N chuckled, giving Maddie a kiss on the forehead. "Have fun, sweetie. And listen to Uncle Klaus, okay?"
Maddie nodded eagerly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Okay, Mommy!"
As they set off, Klaus and Maddie walked hand in hand, ready for their adventure.
Their first stop was the local market. Klaus thought it would be fun to show Maddie around the bustling stalls, filled with vibrant colors and delicious smells. As they wandered through the market, Maddie's eyes grew wide with wonder.
"Can I make things float, Uncle Klaus?" she asked, her small hand tugging at his sleeve.
Klaus grinned. "Of course, just be careful not to cause too much of a scene."
Maddie nodded, concentrating hard on a bunch of apples at a nearby stall. Slowly, they began to rise into the air, floating gently above the vendor's head.
The vendor looked up, eyes wide. "What in the world?"
Klaus quickly stepped in, snatching the apples from the air and placing them back on the stall. "Sorry about that! Just a little magic trick."
The vendor, still bewildered, shook his head but eventually laughed it off. Klaus winked at Maddie, who giggled.
Next, they headed to a nearby park, where Klaus had brought along a kite. As they found a clear spot, Klaus handed the kite to Maddie. "Want to see if you can make this fly without any wind?"
Maddie nodded eagerly, gripping the kite string tightly. She focused, and the kite began to lift off the ground, soaring high into the sky.
"Look, Uncle Klaus! It's flying!" Maddie exclaimed, jumping up and down with excitement.
Klaus laughed, clapping his hands. "That's amazing, Maddie! You're a natural."
They spent the next hour making various objects float around the park, much to the amazement of passersby. A couple of ducks quacked in confusion as they found themselves hovering a few inches above the pond, and a group of kids cheered when their soccer ball started floating in mid-air.
As the afternoon wore on, Klaus decided it was time for a treat. They went to an ice cream parlor, where Maddie insisted on trying the most colorful flavor available. They sat outside, enjoying their ice cream and watching the world go by.
"Uncle Klaus, do you think Daddy can make things float too?" Maddie asked between licks of her cone.
Klaus chuckled. "No, your daddy has other cool powers. But you're special, Maddie. You've got a gift."
Maddie beamed, her face covered in ice cream. "I like my gift. It's fun."
Their final stop was a little craft store where Klaus had promised Maddie she could pick out something special. Maddie chose a set of colorful beads and strings to make bracelets. As they paid and left the store, Maddie couldn't resist making the beads float in a sparkling, swirling dance above their heads.
People around them gasped and pointed, but Maddie just giggled, enjoying the spectacle she was creating.
"You're causing quite a stir, Maddie," Klaus said, grinning. "Let's get home before we end up on the news."
When they finally returned home, Y/N and Five were waiting, curious to hear about their day.
"Did you have fun?" Y/N asked, pulling Maddie into a hug.
Maddie nodded vigorously. "It was the best day ever! We made apples float, flew a kite without wind, and even made ducks hover!"
Five raised an eyebrow at Klaus. "Ducks?"
Klaus shrugged, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, it was all in good fun."
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. "Thank you, Klaus. It sounds like you both had a wonderful day."
Maddie yawned, her energy finally waning. "Can we do it again, Uncle Klaus?"
Klaus smiled, giving her a gentle hug and a kiss on the forehead. "Anytime, kiddo. Anytime."
As Maddie was tucked into bed, her eyes already closing, Five and Y/N looked at each other and smiled.
"She had a great day," Y/N said softly.
Five nodded, wrapping an arm around her. "Yeah, she did. Thanks to Uncle Klaus."
In the living room, Klaus settled onto the couch with a contented sigh. He might have been the family wild card, but today, he felt like a hero in his niece's eyes. And that was more than enough.

Hi! I saw your post about the appropriation of religious imagery by extremest hate groups (a good post, I share your feelings of frustration) at the end you made a vague statement about the satanic temple and was wondering if you could elaborate on what happened there? They are a group I admittedly only have passing knowledge of, but what I have seen has usually been pro LGBTQ advocacy or similar things. Not that I don't believe you- I don't really interact with large institutions because they tend to become inevitably corrupt and have inherent gatekeeping, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind explaining what exactly or which extremist propaganda they have been aligning with recently? Or is it just because they are generally anti-theistic?
(I have, in fact, been almost literally living under a rock the past few years so I apologize if the answer is something obvious, but I couldn't seem to find anything with cursory searches so thought asking someone in the community would be a better source)
I couldn’t even begin to outline all of the terrible shit the leaders and founders of The Satanic Temple have done over the years. They are a group of alt white scammers using progressive ideology and leftist sympathy to fill their pockets. They use their image to pray on young women at sex parties and employ real cult tactics to isolate and abuse them. They are a company comprised of sexual abusers, manipulators, and fascists parading the name of Satan to manipulate actual Satanists and Luciferians into giving them money, despite never showing any real respect to those philosophies or religions. We all already know they’re not theistic satanists and they don’t really worship Satan, but they also have absolutely no relationship with Satanism or Luciferian gnosis. You cannot be a Luciferian or a Satanist and be friends with Nazis. Idgaf call me a gatekeeper. They just like to use the image of Satan for publicity stunts to ruffle the feathers of a few Christians. They do not embody the Luciferian spirit or the values of Satanism.
I have a deep hatred in my soul for Douglas Mesner and how much damage he has done to the image of Luciferianism and Satanism, not to mention the real world damage they have done to abortion advocacy groups. The strategic moves of opposing institutions that oppose LGBT rights has actually given a bad name to good faith organizations who already have enough negative stigma around them. Abortion advocacy groups don’t need the narrative that they’re sacrificing babies to Satan by being supported by the Temple of Satan on top of all the backlash they already receive by Christo-fascists.
They DO NOT use the money donated for abortion advocacy to help young mothers or to fight real cases of human rights abuse, they have never actually helped a real woman obtain healthcare. The leader himself openly admitted to taking money donated to the Satanic Temple to pay his personal bills.
Asides from the plethora of real accusations of sexual assault and violence against female members of the church itself, the leader Douglas Mesner has actively supported abusers and suppressed victims from WITHIN THE CHURCH!! (kicking them out, harassing them, threatening them lawsuits etc) from obtaining justice. They have never made any actual strides in the fight towards liberation and have actively supported real fascists for years now. Douglas Mesner has advocated for eugenics and made horrible anti semitic and racist comments in the past and continues to support alt right nationalists who actively spread hateful rhetoric. The lie they promote of wanting to protect women’s and LGBT rights is a well crafted marketing scheme to give them a good image while they abuse and manipulate their own members behind the scenes.
This is a fantastic video essay that dives deep into the history of the members and their controversies:
youtube
Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart,
FUCK THE SATANIC TEMPLE
There are of course members who are great people who truly take the philosophy to heart, who have seriously fought for liberation and have sadly had their empathy hijacked. But I don’t like cops and I don’t like people who support Douglas Mesner and his band of freaks. They cannot be trusted and they have done far more harm than good. Actions speak louder than words.

Could the cats make little toys? Like making plushies out of plants or figurines out of rocks and sap or something?
70% of the toys they make are weaved or whittled. I actually made a small scene in the outline (which HOPEFULLY, i keep saying this, should be out Soon TM) of Darkstar's Commandment where she creates a wicker ball as a gift for Reedshine
Tumblr media
^^^ These are willow balls! If you have access to willow trees, you can make these really easily. For Clan cats, it's a sign that you're a really good weaver, and making these is a big favor because they're naturally quite brittle.
These are the basis of the famous "mossball." Pure moss doesn't keep its shape if you kick it around; a wicker skeleton is stuffed and covered with moss so it doesn't hurt if it bonks you in the face. Usually, these are just kept in a pile somewhere any anyone can go grab and use one for games.
You can customize a ball for a specific person by sourcing some leather or linen, and then sewing it around the skeleton. WindClan has the market cornered on this sort of thing because of how many rabbits they hunt, but for RiverClan, SkyClan, and ShadowClan, pelts and flax are pretty valuable and not typically wasted on crafting good mossballs.
(SkyClan in particular is more likely to just trade kittypets for their excess toys.)
Even the best Clan cat artisans only whittle the sorts of figurines we might associate with small children. They're sharp-edged, simple, and look a lot like these;
Tumblr media
They don't have "polish" figured out yet, so nothing they make looks "smooth." Some cat's going to figure out that they can rub the edges against the nearby exposed sandstone, but I'd leave that for a bit of a "genius" like Dustpelt or his mentor One-Eye to figure out.
They can also be made out of clay, but that's more common in RiverClan and WindClan where wood is scarce.
Figurines are often directly commissioned by deputies and senior warriors for use in strategizing, ESPECIALLY in WindClan where they have a history of needing to "visualize" the various parts of their open moor in battle plans. They can be simple toys, but these can get pretty elaborate as it's seen as a bit of a status symbol if the deputy's "pawn" of you is fancy.
Basically, it means you're important enough to be frequently included in battle plans, so much that YOUR pawn is customized. These will often be buried with the warrior, or passed down to their living descendants.
Figurines show up a lot in "channeling." The illegal, direct method of summoning the dead by bypassing StarClan. They aren't "consumed" by the ritual like more organic tokens, so someone who does a ton of channeling of a specific spirit will often end up crafting one of these.
There's various other toys too, but they're generally not soft or stuffed. Clan cats don't have "plushies," since they require a LOT of textiles and sewing which they can't experiment freely with.
And to close out;
Glue is made from animal hide, and is another one of those "high-quality" materials mostly used by artisans and patrol heads.
Making pitch from pine is dangerous; go here for a tutorial on that
Sap's not a great adhesive, but works fine for kittens just having fun.
Whittling, weaving, and molding are the skills usually used to make toys.
Yes, they make toys, and they love to play with them.
Most "crafts" Clan cats make are communally owned, personal belongings are usually very special.

Once the Finger Lakes region was cleared to re-open for alcohol service in a manner that Myer Farm Distillers was able to comply, many customers hoped to return and find the same level of drink service that was available pre-pandemic. Unfortunately, due to remaining restrictions, a dearth of staffing, and having changed most of the bar set-up to accommodate a new, COVID-friendly style of service, that wasn't possible.
To mitigate customer desires with the distillery's capabilities, my coworker and I pitched an idea for "Whiskey Wednesdays" in which we would feature a certain drink that rotated each week, drawing in people who wanted to have a cocktail in-house without stretching the capabilities of a thinned staffing coverage.
I created a system of templates to promote the drinks on Instagram and Facebook each week, allowing a quick turnover of creating the drink special each week and preparing the images to be posted.
