A Day in the Life of a Crane Operator - 8 Aspects

Crane operators play a vital role in the construction industry, responsible for safely and efficiently lifting and moving heavy loads. Their job requires a high level of skill and experience, as well as the ability to work under pressure and in challenging conditions.
If you're interested in learning more about what it's like to be a crane operator, this article will take you through a typical day in their life.
1. Pre-Shift Inspection:
The first thing a crane operator does before starting their shift is to conduct a pre-shift inspection of their crane. This involves checking all of the crane's components for any signs of wear or damage. The operator will also check the crane's load charts and make sure that the crane is properly calibrated.
2. Set up:
Once the crane has been inspected, the operator will set it up in the desired location. This may involve attaching the crane to a foundation or building, or positioning it on a crane pad. The operator will also need to set up the crane's load lines and hooks.
3. Lift and Move Loads:
The primary responsibility of a crane operator is to lift and move heavy loads. This can involve anything from moving construction materials to lifting and placing prefabricated sections of a building. Crane operators use their skills and experience to safely and efficiently move loads of all sizes and weights.
4. Communication:
Crane operators must be able to communicate effectively with other workers on the job site. This is especially important when lifting and moving heavy loads, as crane operators need to be able to coordinate their movements with other workers to ensure safety.
5. Problem-Solving:
Crane operators often need to solve problems on the job site. This may involve figuring out how to lift and move a load in a tight space, or dealing with unexpected weather conditions. Crane operators need to be able to think critically and come up with solutions to problems on the fly.
6. Teamwork:
Crane operators often work as part of a team. This may involve working with other crane operators, signal persons, and other construction workers. Crane operators need to be able to work effectively with others to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
7. Safety:
Safety is the top priority for crane operators. They need to be constantly aware of their surroundings and take precautions to avoid accidents. Crane operators also need to be familiar with all of the safety regulations that apply to their job.
8. End-of-Shift Inspection:
At the end of their shift, crane operators will conduct a post-shift inspection of their crane. This is similar to the pre-shift inspection, but it is important to check the crane for any damage that may have occurred during the shift.

A redraw of a work I did a few months ago! This version is much closer to my original vision, and also actually mentions the other work this is meant to pair up with, that being "Operation: Bar Hop"... although I haven't exactly finished writing it. Hopefully I get it done sooner rather than later!
(P.S. to those in my ask's requesting a Juniper animation I promise I haven't forgotten about you all! I just have a bit of a problem with restarting animations over and over again, but I swear it's coming down the pipeline!)
#i expect you to die#ieytd#ieytd fandom#john juniper#reginald crane#agent phoenix#Back again for my terrible once a month posting schedule!#Operation Bar Hop as taken up too many of my thoughts#I really need to finish it up some time soon#that and the other dozens of one shot missions sitting around in my files#whoops

Si you know how Ortho sometimes builds his own bodies? Like the bunny one in the bunny event?
Welp. I was thinking
What if he made all the more difficult props in the theatre club? Like if they need a dinosaur he makes one, like the ones used in the first Jurassic Park movie.
Anyhow, Ortho doing an animatronic T-Rex is now in my nightmares (I have an unreasonable fear to animatronics idk why)
And because Marigold is a dragon who knows, he might do, ya know, some uuuuu dragon props using them as a model too? Along with Malleus if he wants.
Anyhow Marigold vs T-Rex movie
Yassss Ortho building the best animatronic puppets.

Vil immediately putting all his resources to their best use. Even if those resources would rather be doing something else XP
#amazing ask thank you#twst#is my art#is my oc#film club shenanigans#or if Vil had access to a whole ass dragon for his shoots#see also having a camera operator with built in height for all of the crane shots#and aerial shots#although ortho could do those too really

@stellar-collective I was thinking about Reginald and Tear, and then I realized something.
They had a somewhat flirty thing going on... And he was very much evil...
He has a thing for Juniper... Who USED to be evil...
And I believe, personally, that he and Roxanna had a thing at ONE POINT, fell out amicably, and then she went evil...
Basically, Reggie has a TYPE and it's "Slightly Dangerous and Might Kill Me"

Saw a poll where someone asked who would vote MAGA in Stardew and it pisses me off that everyone thinks Clint would do that.
Y'all, a majority of smiths in the area Stardew is based on are Union. Clint would fucking hate MAGA simply because they're so anti-Union. His industry is among the first on the chopping block from these policies.
Hate Clint all you want but at least hate him for his actual character.
as much as i dislike him if clint was in canada he would be voting ndp 100%. yes youll get the odd maga bastard but the vast majority of unionised trades men aren't THAT stupid that they'll vote conservative/rightwing (in my experience)
basically i agree with anon
#one time i was in the site trailer during lunch break and the crane operator said “trump is our saviour” and a welder said#“JESUS FUCKING CHRIST DUDE” and the rest of the lunch break was 100% silent#i think abt it all the time hkakkgkskg it was so funny#sdv confessions#clint discourse

Crane Operators The Backbone of Efficient Construction Projects

Construction projects are complex and demanding endeavors that require the coordination and collaboration of various professionals. One of the most important and indispensable roles is that of the crane operator.
What Do Crane Operators Do?
Crane operators are responsible for operating and controlling cranes, which are large machines that lift, move, and place heavy objects or materials. Cranes are used for various purposes in construction projects, such as erecting structures, installing equipment, transporting materials, demolishing buildings, and more.
How Do Crane Operators Contribute to Construction Projects?
Crane operators are not only essential for the completion of construction projects, but also for their efficiency and quality. Here are some of the ways that crane operators contribute to the success of construction projects:
They save time and money. Cranes can perform tasks that would otherwise take longer or require more manpower or resources to complete. For example, cranes can lift and place prefabricated components or modules that can reduce the construction time and cost. Crane operators can also optimize the crane operations by planning and executing the lifts in the most efficient and effective manner.
They ensure safety and security. Cranes can pose significant risks to workers, property, and the environment if they are not operated safely and securely. Crane operators can prevent accidents and injuries by following the safety rules and regulations, inspecting and maintaining the cranes regularly, communicating and coordinating with other workers, and avoiding hazards and obstacles. Crane operators can also protect the crane equipment and materials from theft or damage by securing them properly.
They enhance quality and performance. Cranes can improve the quality and performance of the construction projects by enabling the precise and accurate placement of objects or materials. Crane operators can ensure the quality and performance of the crane operations by adhering to the specifications and standards, calibrating and fine-tuning the cranes accordingly, monitoring and controlling the crane functions, and correcting any errors or issues.

Don't mind me popping in again (Matchstick AU lives rent free in my head at the moment)-
Tear, Rubble, and Matchstick are all active at the same time, yeah? What does Tear think of Rubble's decision to give this wildcard Operative a shot? And what does he think of Matchstick? What's Matchstick's opinion of Tear?
Tear had heard the rumors about Matchstick (he works in protection and resources these days and gets a lot of gossip) and it did not surprise him at all that Rubble took them under his wing. after all, Rubble used to be quite the wildcard himself, as Tear would know.
Rubble and Matchstick’s similarities would automatically endear the young operative to Tear. he’d never work with them independently, but with Rubble to bridge the gap, they’re actually pretty fun. he doesn’t take them very seriously, viewing them more as “Rubble’s kid” than a legitimate operative. for their part, Matchstick is inherently distrustful of him (anyone who holds sway over Rubble’s opinion of them is an automatic threat; they’re never getting over what Juniper did) but otherwise they don’t think he’s too bad, all things considered. so long as he stays Rubble’s comedic and polite friend and doesn’t try his luck, he’s absolutely tolerable, which is more than most people can say.
#thank u for the excuse to talk abt my oc <333#when Rubble first joined Zoraxis he and Tear were absolute MENACES such an incredibly effective duo#Tear is glad that Rubble found fresh purpose in keeping Matchstick under control bc he could tell R was getting restless as a handler#thanks for the ask!#ieytd#i expect you to die#ieytd au#matchstick au#reginald crane#the handler#operative tear#my art
