I doubt there are any but it is worth asking. Any recast options for D-Storic Izi?

(unfortunately, me and the other admin had to stop answering these questions because NO ONE seems to know how to use Google, or ask store sellers, or even doing a reverse search for an image. So we get stuck with hundreds of questions that we have to spend days figuring out how to answer and then all other equally valid confessions or asks get stuck behind, plus it wear us out, so sometimes the whole blog comes to an hiatus just because of: "do you know if X doll was recasted?", and to summarize, it's not fair for other people submitting.)

I'll let others answer this.

But I'm assuming that no recaster would (at this point at least, giving the fact that their biggest model was around 90cm and they took 3 months to figure out IF they could ship it and HOW), be able to ship a 1/1 real size doll such as the D-Storic Izi.

It doesn't only consumes a LOT of resin (making her specially expensive eve as a recast), but it's also almost impossible to ship, it'll have to be shipped in AT LEAST 3 separate different shipping boxes of an insane shipping price.

Ergo, it wouldn't be a good business for the seller either. So I'm in for a NO (for obvious reasons), but please correct me if I'm wrong.

The 1000 And One Game Boy Pocket Special Editions

Well, sometimes good posts make a comeback! After compiling a checklist for the Game Boy Color and the GBA SP’s special editions with pictures, descriptions and everything, I’m once again doing a collector research: this time for the Game Boy Pocket, which I’ve noticed has been produced in literally all flavours!

I must say, I’ve always ignored the Pocket compared to other models of Game Boy: for me, the Color was the absolute best one for these little 8-bit games and the SP was certainly famous for its fantastic innovations; going back, I understood the importance of the “Big Brick” and the Japanese retro-illuminated Light, but as for the Pocket? All I knew of it is that it was just a smaller version of the Classic. In reality, it does have quite some differences: the batteries used are only three and AAA size, while the screen is much much larger, even larger than the GBC! It also has a grey-toned monitor, opposed to the off-green hues of the Classic. The Pocket also uses a link port that has become a later trend for the rest of the GB models, and it’s therefore compatible with the Pikachu and Togepi special edition cables. It also got released in 1996, that means a mere 2 years before the GBC, and it still managed to have so many special editions!

The standard colours released worldwide at launch were: Black, Clear (also known as Neotones Ice), Green, Red, Silver (available both with a black screen border and a silver one), and Yellow. Other standard versions were Blue (released at launch everywhere except Japan), Pink (released at launch everywhere except in the USA, and bundled along with Tamagotchi in Japan), and Atomic Purple (released at launch in Japan only, but it got to us advertised as a special edition). So that’s 9 standard colours! Compared to the Color and the SP, the GBP has gotten a lot of variation right from the start.

- ANA Airline. Japan’s flight company “All Nippon Airways” made this semi-transparent sapphire blue console available in their dedicated shops, or winnable through a contest. It has got the company logo printed on the front, just below the Start and Select buttons. - Emerald Green. Despite its name, this “Toys ‘R Us” japanese exclusive presents an opaque case which is more of an acqua green hue: however, it sports purple A and B buttons instead of the standard black ones, resembling a classic big brick. - Famitsu. You can tell by its name: it’s another Japanese exclusive, made available as a giveaway or contest prize by the “Famitsu” magazine. This one’s got a clear white case and sports the same colours of the Classic model for what it concerns the buttons. How to distinguish it from the standard, Clear version? The creen border, which is in light silver, also sports a writing saying “Famitsu 1997 (Model-F)”. - Gold. This special edition got released almost everywhere... except Europe! :C It sports an opaque gold-painted case, though it doesn’t seem to be that much of a vivid colour. In Australia, this got released in a bundle along with Donkey Kong Land. - Hello Kitty. Here comes that white cat again... her opaque bubblegum pink GBP edition is decorated with logoes and graphics printed on the front. It’s a japanese exclusive, bundled with its own game, and got released at specialized “Sanrio” stores during Christmas of 1997. - Ice Blue Clear. This semi-transparent special edition got released only in Japan and Australia; the first got it only in “Toys ‘R Us” stores, while the latter saw it bundled with a Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” game. It has got a light blue, “Glacier”-like hue. - Off-white. This Japanese exclusive perfectly emulates the Classic model, sporting the same grey hue for its screen border, the now iconic pearly tone for its opaque case, and properly coloured buttons. Here it is in company of its... big bro! - Seibu Lions. An opaque electric blue special edition released as dedicated merchandise for the Japanese baseball team “Seibu Lions”. It was available in their specialized stores, and it has got their logo printed in white on the front. Hey, isn’t that Kimba? - Extreme Green. Now this is just right up my alley! A semi-transparent, north-american exclusive sporting an extremely vivid and showy hue of green all over the case (needless to say, I’m definitely getting this if I ever see it among the shelves of retrogaming shops)! Some say it also glows in the dark, but they're actually mixing it up with another special edition... - Imagineer. ...Which is this one! Also known with the rather ovbious name “Glow In The Dark”, this special edition has an opaque, fluorescent light green case. It’s a japanese exclusive and only 2000 of them were made, with an interesting origin story; players who had bought the N64 game “Multi Racing Championship” would find a contest card for the best time in the “Mountain” level. The winners would have been rewarded with the GBP made by Imagineer, which is the developing house for MRC. In the dark, this Pocket edition has a rather ghostly appeareance! - Ice Blue. Here’s a north-american exclusive which bears many resemblances: its name is almost the same as the Ice Blue Clear edition (but, as the name states, this one has got an opaque case instead) and the colour may seem similar to the standard blue one: instead, it’s slightly pearly and lighter in its tone. It was available in “Target” stores and through the Nintendo Power magazine. - NP100. To celebrate their 100th issue, storic american magazine Nintendo Power had made this opaque, golden special edition available through postal purchase. The screen border has a special golden plaque which reads “Nintendo Power 100″. - A.C. Fiorentina. Though I’m not a fan of soccer at all, this Pocket edition feels very special to me: it’s the only gaming console I know of that is genuinely an italian exclusive! Nintendo became the first sponsor of the tuscanian soccer team Fiorentina, and they celebrated by releasing only 3000 units of this little gem. The opaque silver case isn’t that special per se, but it has the team logo printed on the front and a... metal and enamel Mario-shaped plaque on the bottom-left corner, stating the number of the specific unit! The special box it came along is also a joy to see, and a certificate of authentication both by GIG and the soccer team can be found inside. Truly a beautiful and very rare edition! - Sweden. The nordic country also had 3000 special units available in their stores: this edition is opaque electric blue on the front and opaque yellow on the back. It comes along with a certificate, and a sticker on the battery lid cover bears the swedish flag along with the number of the unit. - Pri-Cla Atlus. This one’s a very, very rare one, because officially, it wasn’t even for sale! It’s a special japanese-only edition produced by Atlus, and it was given as a gift to developpers and nipponic celebrities. It has an opaque pure white case with a sky blue screen border; the inscription “Pri-cla Pocket Atlus” can be read on it. - Thomas And Betts. A very simple yet very rare edition, it was apparently available as a gift to people who worked at the “Thomas And Betts” company, which concerns... electrical wiring? As far as I know. :/ It’s opaque electric blue, with the company logo printed in white at the front bottom. - Toyota. Our final special edition is a japanese exclusive: people who bought a Toyota car during 1997 could recieve this GBP from the company as a gift! It has a clear case and the creen border reads “TOYOTA” at the bottom.

Total models counted: 26! As always, if a new edition shows up, I’ll be sure to update this list, though I’m fairly sure this covers them all. =D

Hi anon, I’m sorry this answer comes a couple days late, but between my friends and my nephews I was overwhelmed a bit.

So. The queer stuff. There’s a part of personal ID in general, a part of real life community, and a part of tumblr in this answer.

The personal part is that I’ve always felt better when IDing as queer period. I started at 14 saying I was bisexual, then pan, then bi again, then “idk how I will wake up tomorrow so idk idk idk” (and a brief asexual period bc of sexual abuse but what can we do) and there was always this uncertainty that I really couldn’t stand. It stopped when I started reading about the term queer as a political concept, and I loved it so much (both for the whole fluidity that you don’t classify sexuality because of how many social label and factors there are, and for the political meaning of someone resisting assimilation and homonormativity), and since I started calling myself queer all the doubt on how I’ll wake up tomorrow have vanished. I like what I like, and I am queer.

I’m not that fond of the alphabet soup in general, because lgbtqiap is indeed a bit of a mouthful, and then there are the people who go Glbtqiap and I don’t like these people, but I generally don’t mind people using the alphabet soup. There’s a Q there anyway, and I am indeed that Q.

This is where the tumblr part comes to play, because of the whole “your identity is a slur”, and “it’s not lgbtqiap bc you can’t be queer” and stuff like that. I have a bit of discourse on that in my queer tag. (Since tumblr dot edu is not great for reading between the lines I’ll speell it out: if you don’t want to be called queer, you’re not queer. But queer studies are an academic branch, and you can’t ignore the history of the word.) I’m not lgbt, I’m fucking queer because if they’re going to take out the Q from the alphabet soup, then I’m not in the alphabet soup anymore, because I’m not letting go of my fucking identity.

The real life stuff is more about politics and resisting assimilation, as I was saying. The mainstream lgbt community has goals that are not mine, because I stand against homonormativity, and assimilation, exclusion (pls see Gayle Rubin and her charmed circle, this is not ace d/iscourse), pinkwashing, and other neoliberalist tactics used to silence the “rebellion”, so to speak. Marriage, just to say one thing, has storically been a thing of exclusion, and I think the right thing to do is not trying to get into a putrid institution, but stand outside of it and destroy it.

CASTIGNANO – Nell’ambito degli ormai consueti appuntamenti con la storia delle Notti da Medioevo castignanesi, la XXX edizione di Templaria Festival, dedicata alla scoperta e riscoperta di quel Medioevo troppo spesso oscurato da una coltre di stereotipi e luoghi comuni che lo dipingono semplicisticamente come un’epoca di regressione umana e culturale, vedrà protagonisti due nomi di punta dell’approfondimento e della divulgazione della storia medievale.

Il Prof. Jacopo Mordenti, autore di “Templari in Terrasanta. L’oltremare del Templare di Tiro“, il 17 agosto 2019, alle ore 21:00, con la conferenza dal titolo “TEMPLARI E TEMPLARISMO: una luce dall’Oltremare“, si occuperà di esemplificare lo scarto fra la ricerca storica e la suggestione intorno all’ordine templare, chiamando in causa l’origine dell’ordine medesimo, la sua impalcatura intellettuale, la sua prosperità materiale e le circostanze della sua soppressione. Un percorso che insisterà sull’opportunità di assumere un punto di vista diverso, in senso sì cronologico – contestualizzando, dunque – ma anche e soprattutto geografico, attingendo a quella prospettiva per certi versi perduta, rappresentata dalle fonti dell’Oriente Latino.

Jacopo Mordenti ha conseguito la laurea specialistica in Culture del Medioevo e Archivistica all’Università degli Studi di Bologna. Si occupa in particolare di ordini monastico-militari e di Oriente Latino, pubblicando ricerche di taglio sia scientifico che divulgativo: ha collaborato, fra gli altri, conEncyclomedia Publishers (“Templari in Terrasanta. L’Oltremare del Templare di Tiro”, 2011), Storical National Geographic, Medioevo, Medioevo Misterioso, L.A.R.T.I. Nel 2018 ha pubblicato per i tipi di Aguaplano “Di pietra e d’acqua dolce. Storia minima del Trasimeno medievale”. Attualmente è impegnato nella realizzazione di una nuova monografia sull’ordine templare.

Jacopo Mordenti, tra i più raffinati e acuti medievisti in circolazione, è uno di quei rari (e per questo ancor più preziosi) studiosi che, al rigore accademico e alla vertigine del sapere e della competenza, sanno (e vogliono) coniugare la bellezza della divulgazione. Voce e penna che riescono ogni volta a compiere il miracolo di far letteralmente entrare chi legge e chi ascolta dentro il medioevo, dentro storie lontanissime che però, di colpo e d’incanto, nella magia affabulatoria e nella scrittura rapida, leggera e potente di Mordenti, si fanno vive, attuali, coinvolgenti, imprescindibili (Riccardo Lestini).

Il giorno 18 Agosto 2019, alle ore 21:00, con il suo intervento dal titolo “Le tenebre medioevali: una nuova luce sui falsi miti” sarà la volta del Prof. Franco Mezzanotte, Docente di Storia Medievale presso l’Università degli Studi di Perugia e Docente di Storia della Chiesa antica presso l’Istituto Teologico di Assisi. Il Prof. Mezzanotte, ripercorrendo ben 10 secoli di storia attraverso una necessaria sintesi, si occuperà di evidenziare che il Medioevo non è affatto l’età dei secoli bui, ma quella della scoperta e riscoperta dei saperi in ogni campo.

Il Prof. Franco Mezzanotte è autore di “Pro eligendo romano pontefice”, di “La profezia di Cordelia” e di numerosissimi altri saggi, Docente di Storia medievale, con una solida preparazione di carattere archeologico, interessato all’età delle invasioni, in particolare dei Longobardi, e all’età comunale.

Già da diversi anni, Templaria Festival dedica uno spazio sempre più ampio e profondo alla ricerca storica, arricchendo dunque con appuntamenti di qualità e incontri tematici il suo già ricco programma.  L’antico borgo, completamente immerso in un’atmosfera magica, fatta di colori, suoni e profumi di un antico passato è già in sé un’esperienza indimenticabile.

Al suo interno, i vicoli, le strade, le piazze, i teatri pullulano della migliore e più ampia offerta di spettacoli medievali del territorio italiano. Tra uno spettacolo e l’altro, è possibile assaggiare prelibatezze realizzate in base alle tecniche gastronomiche e ai riti della mensa dell’Età di Mezzo e ispirati dai primissimi ricettari risalenti ai secoli XIII e XIV. Tutto ciò rende le Notti da Medievo del Festival una manifestazione unica nel suo genere perchè completa sia dal lato dell’intrattenimento che dal punto di vista dell’approfondimento.

In programma ci sono anche degli inediti e gli spettacoli finali.

Erano dipinti studiati per colpire come tanti luminosi fendenti il sonno ingenuo del popolo; un modo per narrare la storia del genere umano e tramandarla ai più.Le tabulae viventi sono il modo Tetraedrico di sperimentare ogni episodio storico di rilievo, in un viaggio silenzioso dall’ignoranza alla conoscenza, dal buio alla luce!”

ET ULTRA – Superstizioni, racconti, immaginari tenebrosi… conoscenza, coscienza, antichi saperi: una via stratifica oscurità e paure, un’altra nutre le menti di luce. Seppur in un lento avanzare, si può andare al di là, lasciando tutto ciò che sembra, diventando tutto ciò che è. I Circoplà ci regalano anche quest’anno uno spettacolo inedito, realizzato appositamente per questa edizione, avvolgendoci con il loro toccante teatro-danza.

FIAT LUX

Per il trentennale di Templaria Festival di Castignano, la Compagnia dei Folli ha ideato uno spettacolo ispirato al titolo della manifestazione.

Ex Tenebris Lux esprime quel passaggio dalle tenebre alla luce e quel tentativo che, tra storicità e invenzione teatrale, Templaria cerca di raggiungere ogni anno: illuminare la conoscenza del Medioevo.

Con scene ispirate all’immaginifico medievale, la Compagnia dei Folli porterà in scena il passaggio da un mondo di oscurità e fuoco ad un mondo illuminato e splendente. Strani personaggi daranno vita ad un viaggio tra fiamme demoniache e oscure presenze fino a raggiungere il luogo dove tutto rifulge di nuova luce.

“Fiat Lux” è il ricordo di una creazione che squarcia il silenzio e le tenebre del nulla per far sbocciare una nuova vita che da essa sgorga.
