天理昭昭 - A-Han and Da Shixiong
Back into the JZEUniverse for this pair! These were one of the first figs made of this very popular pairing known as mobage - but they will definitely not be the last.
Mobage is a Japanese word for mobile gaming. In the Junzhe extended universe, it stands for the mobile game characters played by Zhehan and Gong Jun.
The koi spirit A-Han is one of two characters that Zhehan played in the mobile game Fantasy New Jade Dynasty. He also played the lotus spirit Xiao-Zhe, which I posted about previously. You'll be seeing lots and lots of figs of these characters in the future. How soon? Come back tomorrow!
The inspiration for the A-Han in this fig set is our favorite koi spirit handing out a treasure trove of gifts!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gong Jun plays the oldest senior martial brother (da shixiong) of the Tian Zhao sect. Yes, it's a title more than a name, but Da Shixiong stuck and here we are. I generally just run the name together as Dashixiong (I have a bad habit of doing this with a lot of the JZEU characters, particular Xu Jin and Ji Fa) but I'm trying to do a better job of it! A lot of people just call him DSX, which works too.
Tumblr media
I originally posted an A-Han video, but since Tumblr restricts me to just one per post, I decided to use that valuable space for Da Shixiong this time. That way you can see his whole costume. Tomorrow I promise it will be all A-Han!
I will note Da Shixiong as a video game character actually has wings, but that's a story for another day.
Tumblr media
This pair is gorgeous. The detailing on the costumes is superb. A-Han is decked out in his finest golden jewelry, as he should be! Da Shixiong is standing in the same crossed-arm pose with his sword as you see in the picture and the video.
Tumblr media
As you can see from the video, Da Shixiong's costume is very ornate, so I'm impressed with the level of detail put into this fig. I always love a good ombre effect. You can also see the great 3-D effect on A-Han's tassel there, and of course his golden anklet, which the fandom lost their collective minds over (for good reason, just wait until tomorrow!)
Tumblr media
The height difference is pretty significant here, but let's remember A-Han is barefoot while Da Shixiong is rocking some serious white boots.
Tumblr media
Here's a good shot of Da Shixiong's blue ribbons and A-Han's golden hair crowns. In the pictures/videos, A-Han's hair is actually more of a grey-white than a pure white (there's a backstory in the game about his hair turning color), and as near as I can tell Da Shixiong's hair has a slight undertone of pink to it. Here in the figs, they're rendered a little more uniformly white, although A-Han's hair IS a bit greyer. I think it was an excellent choice, keeps the focus on the outfits.
Tumblr media
The full back view so you can see Da Shixiong's golden scarf and detailing on his costume. I would buy a replica of that scarf no problem.
Tumblr media
And a little more detail of A-Han's little feet and the back of Da Sshixiong. Love the layers of his costume here.
Tumblr media
An extreme close up of our beautiful koi fish! His golden jewelry shines beautifully, as well as his lucky chest and the gold crowns in his hair. This is such a delightful fig.
Tumblr media
LOVE his little smirky smile here - that sideways grin is my number one favorite expression on any fig's face! Even better than the cute uwu face, because you know they're up to something rascally and fun.
This is a good view of his impressive boots, and and all the rest of the fine details like his different colored vambraces. The sword always makes me laugh, it makes me think of little tiny beady dragon eyes.
Tumblr media
As you can see from the box cards, the name of the set is 天理昭昭, tiānlǐ zhāozhāo, which Google translate reports is either Sky Carp Zhao Zhao or Heaven's Justice Manifested, so I'm guessing (always dangerous when I'm embarrassingly ignorant to the language) the name is a clever play on Da Shixiong's sect name (Tian Zhao), A-Han being a fish spirit, and the chengyu (a Chinese idiom) for Heaven's justice prevailing over the wicked. Yet another thing to figure out when I'm much, much further along in my Chinese lessons.
Tumblr media
I've now posted about all these three sets now that you can see on the box. I'm feeling a little accomplished. The firefighter set is here, and the winky Bazaar photo shoot is here if you want to check those out!

Are many of the animes here on crunchyroll? Or netflix? I know a bunch are but I also wonder if it's a good suggestion list ^^
Considering the numerous times I had to find alternate trailers because a lot of Crunchroll’s YouTube videos are blocked in my country… yes, a lot of the shows are on Crunchyroll. A few are on Netflix, and some are on Funimation.
As for donghua (Chinese anime), most can only be watched legally through Iqiyi or Bilibili. For the latter, it might be hard to access when you don’t understand Chinese. But fret not, these two also have official YouTube channels, so you can try checking there too.
While I’m at this, I might as well just list the sites where you can watch certain donghua...
Are You Ok - Iqiyi
Beryl and Saphire - Bilibili
God Troubles Me - Bilibili. I think some seasons are also on the official Bilibili YouTube channel
Legend of Luo Xiaohei - There are no official subs, but there are numerous fansubs on YouTube. The Legend of Hei prequel movie is on Crunchyroll, though. (Please watch the movie in Chinese… They literally translated the characters’ names to English in the dub, and it’s so cringe 😭)
Link Click - Funimation (S1 only), and Crunchyroll and Bilibili (both seasons). Link Click S1 official subs were awful, though, so I suggest looking into fansubbed versions. I think there are 2-3 different fansubs for it.
No Doubt in Us - Bilibili, Netflix
White Cat Legend - Bilibili, and I think YouTube too. @whitecatlegend also made some good fansubs for S2
Wo Jia Dashixiong Naozi You Keng - Bilibili
This is not a comprehensive list, btw. Just listing what I know off the top of my head.
As for aeni (Korean anime)… I’m not as familiar. There doesn’t seem to be any legal way to watch Mignon at the moment because of issues the creator had with Vimeo, but I could be wrong… Another aeni is Flowering Heart, and a quick search says it’s officially available on YouTube.
Trese, the lone Filipino anime on the list, is available on Netflix.

I have a story idea that's a xianxia transmigration novel where the character gets reincarnated as himself (which is my favorite genre of transmigration) and initially he’s all gung ho about getting revenge on the people who screwed him over
but then he re-meets this one guy that was nice to him and who ended up dying in order to like try and stand up for him and says "sure, incidentally, I’ll save this guy’s life too"…
...only for him to die a different death like a few weeks later and so it just becomes kind of a time loop where he gives up the concept of revenge in order to try and save this dude’s life and it's a lot of fun to think about but is really hard to talk about b/c I haven't named any of the characters yet

Qin Huaizhang and his pupils! I always love thinking a lot about Siji manor and how it was, how it started, etc. I really wanted to make an illustration reflecting a nostalgia of these times. More Siji manor rambling below >>>
I am going through a crisis regarding my headcanons about it, though. As in, I can't be satisfied by what the book gives us, and clearly I got too invested in the backstory I made up to just accept giving it up based on some random infos sprinkled here and there. Here are the named characters that I assume are all from Siji:
Tumblr media
(Duan Pengju isn't there because, for good balance, I thought it would be nice to have him as an agent recruited later on by ZZS.) QHZ is obviously the founder of the manor, right? According to the book (which gives us very little), he's an oddball, and he could have gone about with only two disciples-- or very young ones... But simultaneously, we do get informations in extra 5 about Siji manor's wide reach and activities. It's hard to believe that ZZS was the oldest disciple (as it is suggested in TYK in that one line where he's said to having been a dashixiong.....); he was 15 by the time of QHZ's death, so could QHZ really have operated alone with an army of tiny kids before that? Sorry, Priest, I will have to fight with canon lines here. I like to imagine that QHZ had associates within Siji-- he was the main founder, but he wasn't working alone. Old Bi, who's mentioned in TYK, chapter 1, could have been one of said associates. Lu Yu....... So Lu Yu is from Qi Ye, and up until recently he was my anchor when it came to justifying my idea that no, ZZS and LJX weren't the sole disciples in Siji Manor (since, in TYK, ZZS says it was "just the two of them"-- but it could be metaphorical!! and Lu Yu being there so early on in Qi Ye could be a proof of that!!). Turns out, the infos we get from Extra 5, once again, make me feel like it's unlikely that it was really literally only ZZS and LJX, but-- Anyway; I did picture Lu Yu as being older than ZZS, probably a shixiong, but it's also mentioned in Qi Ye that he his technique was "worthy of ZZS' teaching"...... which makes it harder to justify him being a shixiong. I mean, some mental gymnastics can probably make it work, and after all this is only a remark coming from Jing Qi's narration, BUT. Bichen suggested he could have been trained later on by ZZS as more people left Siji in disagreement with ZZS' own politics... so why not? I like to think that ZZS was QHZ's only disciple-- the others, shixiongs and shidis, were disciples of QHZ's associates rather than his own direct disciples. Maybe he didn't want any, until he met with ZZS and figured that the kid was worthy enough of being his disciple. LJX would have been taken in by QHZ as an additional trial or training method for ZZS-- because teaching is the best way of putting your own knowledge to the test. ALL OF THIS TO SAY, i do imagine that ZZS and LJX had a peculiar relationship with QHZ that other disciples didn't have, and that it was just the two of them from the moment ZZS was chosen by QHZ to become the next leader. Bi-shu... could have been reluctant at first, then decided to believe in ZZS until years later when he figured he couldn't do TC anymore and it was time for him to go? Anyway--- I could go on for hours bc clearly I have nothing better to do w my life than to muse about some random background storylines LOL
Thanks for reading!
