Is it Real? (Chapter 6 of Cogs, Gears and Love)
Violet had been… thinking, about their past and what had happened to them, remembering where memories were missing and fractured, and that odd feeling of deja vu when they first arrived to the manor two weeks prior. They had gotten accustomed to the manor’s inhabitants quite quickly, and become rather attached to Hatchworth for whatever reason. Violet looked up as Data walked into the sitting room and sat beside them, looking at them with worry.
“What’s wrong? You look… upset” Data asked and Violet slumped back, putting their head in their hands as Data placed a comforting hand on their shoulder. They gave their automaton companion a smile before they leant onto them. Violet kept staring at the door, waiting for Hatchworth to walk in so they could explain their thoughts, knowing that he would understand, he always understood. As soon as the bronze robot strolled in, they launched into a ramble.
“Do you think the multiverse exists?” They asked immediately, not giving anyone time to answer, “It’s like I’ve been living in alternative universes, but as soon as I leave them to live a new life all of the memories I made are erased! I think I’ve been here before too, but it was different, Data wasn’t here-“ Hatchworth quickly put his hand on their shoulder to calm them down, and they quickly sat back down, “Well, you’re right, the multiverse does exist… we can ask Six if he can get your memories back, if they’re there?” Violet nodded in agreement and smiled, standing up and walking to the workshop.

Hey Data, do you have any siblings? And if you do, who is your favourite? (that last question is /silly btw)
That’s tricky… the other bots treat me like siblings! But it still feels weird to call them it if it makes sense.. if I had to choose a favourite though, it’d probably be The Jon!

No Filter (A Data and Violet ficlet)
[Tw: a ton of swearing and queer slurs used in a positive context]
"So, you don't have a filter like the others then Data?" The golden automaton shook their head, leaning back and grinning. Violet matched Data's smile, tapping their fingers against the armchair in a way that suggested they had an idea in mind. Data perked up. "Lets mess with The Spine."
Violet chuckled, nodding before standing up and leading Data into the kitchen, where Spine, Rabbit, Hatchworth and Zer0 were gathered, sitting down at the table and ctossing their legs as Data mimicked them. Spine looked between the two, his optics immediately narrowing in suspicion. Violet sat a little straighter. "Violet, any fuckin plans this weekend?"
Spine went stiff, opening his mouth to protest as Rabbit began to shake with silent laughter. They nodded, looking Spine directly in the eyes with a grin. "Fuck yeah, " Spine hissed in frustration, going to cover Zer0's ears. He didn't get their in time as Violet continued.
"Me and the other fags were gonna head to the skatepa-" They were cut off by Rabbit howling with laughter and Zer0's quiet giggles. The Spine launched himself at them, clapping his hand around their mouth quickly, only leading to more laughter as Violet squirmed away, running away with Data in tow.

Everyone talks about the joys of someone else being super invested in your OCs and while this undoubtedly feels absolutely awesome, I think there's also something to be said about the joy of being invested in someone else's OCs too. There's just vibes you get out of some people's casts of characters that you can't get anywhere else with their own unique flavor from that person, and they're just sitting there in relative obscurity spawned completely out of someone's mind with no media involvement or anything. Special kind of feeling

Hello! Welcome to tumblr, I'm already a massive fan and I was wondering what exactly the UNIVAC was used for back in the day and what kind of functions you have it perform for demonstrations now? Thank you!
Oh my goodness, my first question! Well, in a sentence, the UNIVAC 1219 was used to point and fire missiles at enemy aircraft. Now, we can break this down:
The UNIVAC 1219 is a militarized version of the UNIVAC 418. This thing has better resistance to salty air and other things you’d want a seafaring computer going into battle to have, but at their hearts they’re the same. There were three different missile systems the UNIVAC was a part of: Talos, Terrier, and Tartar. These three systems were among the first sea-to-air missile systems fielded by the U.S. Navy.
The UNIVAC 1219 would receive data from the AN/SPG-55 radar and analyze the data it received. Running one of dozens of programs lost to time (or on a single last-of-its-kind magnetic tape we are worried about damaging), it will pass on the results of its calculations to the missile system itself. The missile will go where it is told, and hit an enemy plane.
But our UNIVAC 1219 is unique! The specific machines here are from the John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. At John Hopkins, they developed the fire control programs ran on Navy ships! They had a radar and everything, and I only wish we had a radar and missile battery too ;D.
As for what we do for demonstrations, we have assortments of cool programs we run, and I encourage you to swing by and see for yourself. Our oldest party trick is printing ASCII art of Spock and George Washington, but maybe if this post performs well I will divulge some other cool things we do ;).
Thank you for the question! I am loving this blog rn and appreciate the great support you all have given me.

questions i hate to ask as a recruiter:
• sebutkan pendidikan & pengalaman kandidat pas perkenalan diri. soalnya kan udah ada CV atau resume, ngapain diulang-ulang. kecuali kl emg CV atau resumenya ga lengkap. pas perkenalan diri saya lebih fokus minta kandidat untuk highlight hal2 ttg dirinya yg berkaitan sm posisi yg dilamar.
• random questions kaya "jumlah mobil di jalan raya" dan sejenisnya buat liat kemampuan analitik dsb. first things first, entry level gaperlu skill kaya gini in my opinion soalnya gajinya jg ngepas umr jadi emang goalsnya perusahaan ya bisa membentuk si kandidat, bukan dibentuk si kandidat. tp kl posisi specialist atau udah level manajerial penting buat skill kaya gini, tp mending sekalian lgsg kasih case study pake masalah real & liat gmn cara problem solvingnya di laporan & presentasi. pinter ngarang-ngarang jawaban di case random doesn't necessarily mean pinter mengatasi real problem di company karena tiap company punya tipe masalah & kebutuhannya masing-masing.
• motivasi bekerja. sudah jelas ya kerja mau cari duit lah. kl mau liat ketertarikan kandidat sm perusahaan bisa lgsg tembak aja "kamu ada ketertarikan khusus ke perusahaan kami ga?" tp ya lagi-lagi, ga semua posisi butuh orang yang passionate sm perusahaan kita (in my opinion). ada posisi yg emang butuh org bisa kerja aja, tapi emg ada posisi yg orang harus kenal & tertarik sm perusahaan kita.
• kelebihan dan kekurangan diri. mending lgsg tembak aja kandidat merasa seberapa ahli di skill yg dibutuhin, tolong jelasin. jujur gapaham buat apa tau kl org perfeksionis dll. selama bisa kerja ya ok, soalnya lg nyari calon org kerja bukan nyari calon nabi.
• planning 5 tahun ke depan. ini mungkin lebih ke wording aja sih. aku mending nanya aspirasi kandidat apa, pengen jadi apa & kenapa & so far progressnya gimana. ini jg lebih banyak buat kandidat yg skillnya biasa aja. kalo emg passion di bidang yg dilamar ya berharapnya bakal bisa dilatih supaya skillnya sesuai ekspektasi perusahaan, tp kalo engga ya mending cari kandidat lain.
let's be real, perusahaan jg ga sempurna & posisi rekrutmen itu artinya perusahaan & kandidat sama-sama butuh. di level bawah mungkin kandidat yg lebih butuh & di level manajerial biasanya perusahaan yang lebih butuh, makanya perusahaan tau diri aja pas lg rekrut karyawan entry-level/staff soalnya bayarannya jg kan paling maksimal jg sedikit di atas umr. nah kl di level yg lebih tinggi ya emang wajar kalo perusahaan banyak maunya soalnya kan gajinya udah minimal 3x lipat umr.
dan buat para kandidat: i think it's best to be yourself. gausah fokus ke "gimana template cara jawab pertanyaan ini itu" tapi fokus upgrade skill & personality aja supaya pas jawab setiap pertanyaan bisa berkualitas tapi juga otentik jadi diri sendiri. setiap posisi & setiap perusahaan itu kebutuhannya beda2 dan unik2.
but again, ga semua rekruter juga paham kalo kandidat terbaik adalah kandidat yang cocok sama posisi dan perusahaan kita. misal, data analyst butuh yang detail oriented, tp marketing butuh yg result oriented. data analyst butuh yang bisa kerja sendiri, marketing butuh yang bisa kerja sama orang. data analyst gaperlu punya looks oke asal otaknya oke, sedangkan SPG gaperlu punya IQ yg tinggi asal looksnya oke. posisi entry level gaperlu org yg ada skill leadership, tp posisi manajerial perlu bgt org yg ada skill leadership. intinya gabisa dipukul rata, jadi pertanyaannya juga harus tailored khusus untuk posisi tertentu di modelan perusahaan kita.

Upgrades (Chapter 3 of New Beginning)
”No.” Data started to walk away from Six, turning their back on him. They couldn’t deny it, they were insulted at the thought that they needed to be ‘upgraded’. Was it because they weren’t good enough? Or perhaps they didn’t fit in with their cousins? What did it matter to him anyway? It’s not like he cared about them anyway! Data continued to think these hostile, melancholy thoughts, but stopped in their tracks when Six grabbed their shoulder.
“Data wait, I know it’s difficult to be upgraded, but if you just gave it a chance-“ Data pulled away carefully, unwilling to hurt him but wanting to get across the message of their offence. “I said no. I don’t want, nor need to be upgraded, now leave me alone!” They walked upstairs to their room, slamming the door behind them and fiddling with their rock collection, desperate to find something to put their mind off of the thoughts of being upgraded. Their gears only turned louder, and the hiss of steam from the vents on their shoulders and legs caused their eye to twitch, before they flung themselves onto their bed.
Data heard a familiar tapping rhythm on the door and they looked up, swinging their legs down from the reinforced bed frame and walking over to the door, whispering through the key hole, “What’s the password?” They whispered, before pressing closer to listen to the answer.
“…Cheeseberry” The Jon whispered back, the two of them sharing a quiet giggle as Data opened the door, letting him step into their room. They shared a pat on the shoulder and shook each other’s hands, before giving each other a tap on the head and exploding into giggles. Data sat down on their bed, patting the space beside them for The Jon to sit with them, which he did, the bed creaking slightly under their combined weight. They both stayed silent for a few moments, before he spoke up.
“…Are you mad at him? Six?” Data didn’t respond, only a silent nod and hugging their chest slightly, as if to protect themselves. “Because he wants to upgrade you?” They nodded again, lowering their head slightly in embarrassment with a hiss of steam. The Jon hugged them slowly, not wanting to upset Data by moving too suddenly, leaning his head against their shoulder.
“…Maybe you could just let him get some of the rust off you? Then you could move better!” The Jon chirped, before quickly falling silent again at Data’s expression. Their eyes quickly softened and they nodded, not wanting to disappoint him. Plus, it would be nice to have joints that didn’t creak and ache, even if they despised the idea of a human that wasn’t their late mother taking care of them. The Jon cheered, pulling them to their feet and dragging them back to the workshop, gabbling to Six about their decision while Data only smiled faintly at their friend from behind. They were doing it for him, after all.
“So you just want the rust cleaning off you Data? Nothing else?” They nodded, sitting down on the table and closing their eyes tightly, The Jon automatically grabbing their hand so they could squeeze it for comfort. After a few hours of scrubbing and waxing, they opened their eyes, before glancing in a mirror, a shiny face gazing back at them.
And Data smiled.

Hai robot enthusiasts!!!
I am writing a research paper for a class, and I’ve decided to focus on the SPG fandom.
I already asked the discord server for their input, but, being that there is a substantial amount of fans on this webbed site, I thought it couldn’t hurt to check in here.
Anywho. I’ve made a google forms survey. If you’d be willing to help in my research, I’d greatly appreciate it!! Thank you in advance!!!! <333

Working with Technology Deities
{My post is Cross Posted from The Cobalt Athenaeum aka my original post}
This is all largely UPG and SPG based.
Technology deities are a type of egregore, you can call them a pop culture deity if that feels better. They are the embodiment of the tech domain itself. A primordial being, at least in the way I work with them. They have no faces, names or gender to me. They just are their domain and energy itself. Incredibly powerful in their own right. They can be found the same way a pop culture deity can be, you can see more in our Sister Server Westruun (the blue one) aka The Cobalt Athenaeum.
How Do I Work With a Tech Deity?
You can work with them like any other deity, the largest difference is incorporating them into your tech magic. Are you a streamer? A YouTuber? Or even a blogger? Perhaps work with the Algorithm god. They rule over (in my personal experience) the Algorithm, wisdom, confidence, perception, and change. They can help you boost your numbers, your presence, boost confidence and much more. Incorporating them into your life would surely aid you in your goals.
Make a space for them, build a relationship, make offerings and petition them. You will not regret it.
Tech Deity Examples and Correspondences
I’ve worked with a deity of a social media site and the deities listed below. I will not be posting everything and everyone's correspondences I have worked with, I believe it is important to base your own correspondences and this will be a sample but you can get a general idea from here. These are all my correspondences from working with them. You can use the same ones listed or feel out your own when you meet them.

Action-based plans and spellwork, exercise and general movement, travel, working on self-courage and fears.
This is a highly controversial topic and quite frankly I will not have any arguing on this post. If you simply do not believe in this? Move on. If it's not harming anything or anyone why do you care? The answer is you don't. I will block you from my page if I see anything. General discussion is fine, but being nasty? No.
Would you be interested in the rest of my posts? Check out the Masterpost.
Blessings,
Juniper

Hey, Data! How are you? :)
Also, what do you think of the Beciles?
I’m good! As for the Beciles…
Spine talks about them a lot, and I don’t think he likes them. Me, I’ve only met Norman, and he seems nice enough!
