Even standing at arm’s length Rook could feel the cold emanating from a deep blue potion held out to her. She half expected to see frost on Viago’s gloves. Its absence didn’t convince her the temperature was bearable, but his steady grip on the vial was reassuring. Her fingers barely touched its icy surface when Viago withdrew it.

“Aren’t you going to ask what I added here first?”

“Something spectacular, no doubt.” Rook was in no state to listen to Viago’s process – the long insomnia hasn’t left her for weeks, driving her desperate for any relief his experimental concoctions could offer. She reached for the vial again and Viago moved it further away. Rook sighed.

“I know you enjoy it, but there’s no need to list ingredients every time you give me something to drink.”

“Consider it part of the training.”

Rook blinked.

“I just passed basic alchemy, seems a bit too early for advanced lessons.”

“Learning the vast array of poisons and antidotes can never be too early. However–” Viago placed the potion next to a less vibrant batch of blue vials and folded his arms. “–this particular occasion is better suited for testing something we’re long overdue.”

I think Morrigan should have been more creepy and tragic in DATV. And by this I mean. She should have had flemeths mannerisms.

Like. This is a woman who fought tooth and nail not to have to give up her body to her mother. And she failed. She is possessed by that fragment of mythal that resided in Flemeth. And if they were going to do this they should have leaned into it way more than simply making it a matter of plot/lore dumping convince.

Imagine Morrigan laughing like her mother, that iconic Flemeth laugh. Imagine Morrigan calling herself foolish for not wanting to be the next host in a way that feels slightly out of character and vitriolic. Imagine Morrigan speaking in those riddle type ways that Flemeth did.

Idk man. I think they should have made it more creepy if they really were going for that.

Seriously though is anyone else unsure about what Emmrich’s “good” or “intended” ending is? I’ve played through both and I feel like the Lichdom ending is depressing but the way the game frames the other choice as “letting Manfred rest” I start to wonder?

Like Emmrich is much quicker to say “I love you” in the Lichdom path and the scale of that whole sequence of him becoming a lich is so grand I feel like it’s a defining character moment.

But I can’t help but feel like he didn’t face mortality at all. Like he’s just hiding behind it. And to know Davrin hears him crying about Manfred and he’s not willing to admit that? That’s so sad and not a good sign. He also seems much more distanced from the rest of the Veilguard in general.

And in the mortal ending he does say he wouldn’t trade having Manfred back for Lichdom so the ending seems happier to me. It’s just that initial choice where it feels like the “intended” ending is Lichdom but by the end it’s less so.
