Apparently the people raised such a stint about it + the game not doing that well money wise made them put in Reynauld. Being a dlc ofc but hey he's here!

so you're telling me the one constant of darkest dungeon is you start out with dismas and reynauld

and if you survive the darkest dungeon with dismas and reynauld you get an achievement called "on the old road we found redemption"

and the devs are aware of the fandom and how much they love dismas and reynauld and are aware of reymas

but reynaulds not in the new game okay

Notes from Chris Carter's Fail Better:

-Hold the phone. DD says in his opening lines of the latest Fail Better episode that he and Carter AND GILLIAN went out to lunch together. Is everything patched up between GA and CC?

-David used the term "Carterisms." What a time to be alive.

-Glen Morgan had the best penmanship-- wrote the episode card notes. It started a competition with the other writers.

-DD got CC to admit he was tired by Season 7; and that that time-- when both were at odds-- was a "forgettable part of the show for me." There we have it, ladies and gentleman, the reason why the writing went... places: the passion was burned out. Knew it.

-S7 Duchovny had his security sweep his trailer for bugs during the legal dispute with FOX, afraid they were listening in.

-The last time both men filmed in Vancouver, the two got in a screaming match with each other-- specifically, CC yelled at DD. It was out-of-character for him, they stated. (Points to the pressure he was putting himself under during the Revival.)

-...David had a mustache for commercials?

-Dori Carter mention!

-DD says CC has a parody streak (which is "interesting when you think about The X-Files, which is not parody at all-- it's more about prophecy, in your case.")

-CC: "I'm a hard worker, and I hate to hear the word 'No'; and I wanted to be good at what I was doing."

-David is more alive during ad reads because he has a camera on his face.

-'CC suggested that Gillian and David attended couples' therapy as their characters' mention (it was tense on-set for the crew.)

-DD thinks Carter was writing from a mythic more than a psychological sensibility.

-CC calls David "cute" after the latter dodges a compliment.

-David is now reassessing his character 30 years later; and brings up Mulder's trauma from losing Samantha. That losing Scully every week was him reliving and trying to 'make right' his past mistake.

-Carter lightly addresses the backlash about My Struggle IV: that people think he thought that Scully didn't have agency or that women could only derive meaning from being mothers. He didn't clarify that point further; but it seems those inferences weren't his intention.

-CC blames critics (instead of fans-- an improvement?) for not getting the "huge" four-part Revival finale. There's still an aspect "no one else" has got; and he's only told DD what "that" is.

-"Love is the only thing that matters."

-Carter "predicted" the future, DD says, because he looks for patterns. The X-Files, CC says, was a perfect opportunity to explore his competing worldviews of science and faith.

-Another Dori mention, including a story she relayed to David about Chris's "walk by the train tracks" adventure. DD: "I think you got a bit of Huck Finn in you. I think you're out there, throwing rocks, looking for adventures. I think that's curiosity." CC: "That's producing! You get other kids to paint the fence--" [trails off, waiting for David's chuckle.]

-DD SUGGESTS THAT HE AND CARTER AND GILLIAN HAVE A ROUND TABLE Fail Better EPISODE IN FUTURE; and CC remarks he'd "Love that."
