i wanna talk about the ‘treasure room’ because i think it does a really good job of summarising what’s happening between ed and stede at the moment.

stede ‘takes the initiative’ (or acts without discussing what he’s doing) and puts all of ed’s remaining treasure in one room that’s completely hidden. his reasons for putting it away are:

it was all over the place

he was tripping over it

some of it is quite ugly :/

and instantly ed hits him with the “excellent. a reminder of all my guilt. a guilt room. 😔🤘”

they’re not being subtle about it. this is a physical representation of their guilt and they’re demonstrating here exactly how they’re taking care of it.

ed is living with it. it’s in his space. sure it might be in the way but where else could he possibly put it? there’s so much of it and it’s his. there’s no use in just palming it off to someone else. no one wants this much treasure.

but stede can’t stand it and he has to deal with it now or he’ll die. so he just crams it into some hidden space and considers the matter resolved. it’s out of the way. it can’t hurt them if they don’t think about it. and it’s ugly! no one wants to look at something ugly, especially when they’re trying to rebuild their space.

but that’s just the thing. neither of them are actually dealing with or addressing the problem. stede has just. put it away.

WITHOUT ASKING ED WHAT HE THINKS THEY SHOULD DO WITH IT.

so they decide to just use it to throw this big party because surely that will fix it, right? that will get rid of the Treasure Issue.

WRONG!!

because they still didn’t talk about any of it. yeah they talked about “turning poison into positivity” and “giving some of it to the less fortunate” but they didn’t deal with the root of the problem. how did ed amass that much treasure in the first place? what’s the ideal way of getting rid of it? is there anything they want to keep?

they’re on such uneven planes this season because they can’t communicate to reach a common ground. ed is surrounded by his guilt and wants to leave it all behind. stede has just hidden the guilt and wants to pretend it isn’t even there.

just gonna leave this here (an excerpt from chapter 2 of my wip ft. Jesper’s feelings and Nina and Inej being worried and also a little done with him)

“Is this an intervention?”

Nina and Inej exchanged a glance. “Not exactly,” Inej said finally. “We’re just worried.”

Jesper groaned and sunk lower into the couch. “This is an intervention.” This time, Inej said nothing. “Y’know, I thought I was done with these after rehab.”

“Making jokes about your addiction won’t make us pity you and stop,” Nina interjected. “Inej is right, we’re worried.”

“You have no reason to be.” When Nina snorted and Inej raised an eyebrow, his pout intensified. “I’m serious! I have a job, I’m not behind on any bills, I’m paying off my debts, I’m fine!”

“Mhm. When was the last time you left your house of your own accord?”

“I went out to get groceries earlier today,” Jesper said. He prayed that for once in his life, Kaz hadn’t talked to Inej.

“Kaz had to literally drag you out of the door,” countered Inej. “Try again.”

“I went to get drinks with my coworkers three days ago.”

“Because one of your coworkers needed a ride and you felt bad.”

“Matthias’s birthday party?”

Nina snorted again. “I threatened to gut you if you didn’t show up.”

“I-”

“Jesper.” Inej looked at him intensely. He squirmed. “Do you know when the last time you invited me to go somewhere was?” He didn’t say anything. He knew it had been a long time. “Six months ago. How long has it been since your breakup?”

Five months, three weeks, and two days. He shrugged.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know the exact number of days,” Nina said. Jesper grumbled.

“About six months,” he answered begrudgingly. “But that doesn’t mean anything!”

“Like hell it doesn’t,” Nina shot back. “You used to pester us at least once a week and now it’s been six months. If you think that isn’t concerning you’re lying to yourself. You’ve spent six months wallowing, and we let you, but now it’s time for an intervention.”

“I’m just processing,” argued Jesper.

“Wallowing.”

“Okay,” Inej interrupted, cutting off Jesper's protest. “Not the point. Wallowing or processing, it doesn’t matter. It’s still been a while, and we want to help you.”

“How do you plan to do that? By ambushing me at my house and pestering me about why I’m not fixed yet? It was a long, committed relationship, forgive me for not waking up the next morning ready to fuck the next person I see,” he snapped. It was harsh and unfair and he’d feel awful about it soon enough, but he didn’t really care. Inej and Nina had seen him at his absolute worst, what was another tantrum?

His outburst was met with silence. They both knew he didn’t mean any of it- that he got defensive and moody when confronted, said things he didn’t mean because they were the first things to pop into his head and his impulse control was shot. Sure enough, the guilt started seeping in, a nasty feeling in his chest that made him slump back against the couch.

“I’m sorry,” he said. Inej raised an eyebrow, and he sighed. “That wasn’t fair. I know you’re trying to help. I know I’m being an asshole. Thank you for trying to help.”

Grian, unable to deal with being a widow YET AGAIN (some might even say a black widow, with how often his teammates' deaths are caused by his own hands), says no, not this time, and through sheer grief and willpower and unholy powers through Watcher and/or admin means brings them back.

And maybe they're not quite the same. Maybe they're a little greyed out, a little decaying, covered in dirt stains and plants creeping their way around their bodies (maybe there was some truth to Mumbo getting a kill on Jimmy through Bloop). Maybe they came back a little wrong, even, but what does that matter when they're back?

Grian is not a black widow, don't mind the spider's nest hanging from above. This is not like 3rd life, or Last life, or Double or Limit- or, or any of those stupid old series. His hands are not stained- ok well maybe they are, but not with blood this time, oh no not at all! It's just a little soil, dug up from their graves- (Don't think about the sensation of dirt under your fingernails, don't think about how it feels completely different from the grit of sand-)

His teammates are back!!! The Spanners are spanning once more!!! It's just like how it's been the whole season! There's no need for mourning, not when his friends are right beside him, just like they always are.

I’ve been thinking abt this recently, relating to Violet’s arc when you don’t save her, and wanted to see thoughts as you posted about her relationship with Minerva.

I don’t think it’s crazy for me to headcanon that in 403 when the bomb explodes, Minerva actually abandons Violet prior to it occurring (maybe being drawn by AJ’s gunshot depending on your choice??), because it makes absolutely no sense for them to go “stop the bomb” and then only one of them is burnt to shit. An explosion from such a close distance would’ve logically left both of them at least mildly burnt.

It makes more sense for Minerva to be totally fine in the kidnapped Louis route, but in the Violet route, I can’t help but feel like Violet saying “Where’s Minnie?” with such frustration when she shows up on the beach is due to something occurring.

But knowing Skybound and Telltale, they probably just forgot how explosions work.

LMAO 💀 at that last sentence BUT YES i do at least agree that something had to have happened between them during the explosion but its been hard to figure out exactly what that couldve been 🤔

but jokes aside lets try to give the writers some credit. if vi was so horribly scarred WHY wasnt minnie harmed as well if they were supposedly together? i think its a fair question to ask. especially since in 404 minnie and vi are completely separated with minnie already on the beach and vi struggling to get to shore by herself (burned and blinded 😭). and her "WHERE IS SHE??" does sound pretty furious (and atp she regrets what she did on the boat and tries to apologize to clem a minute later so why would her anger be directed at clem and louis?). we know minnie sacrificed sophie to save herself so why would it be so hard to believe she did the same to vi in the explosion? or did vi possibly try to protect her? or both?? minnie lets vi take the brunt of the hit for her and then leaves her?? i cant imagine minnie giving up on trying to stop the bomb either since shes delta now and definitely wouldnt want the boat to explode. and youd think minnie would be leading the way since kidnapped vi was in a cell the whole time. vi says they headed to the boiler room together to try to stop it but then it seems like everything just kinda went black 💣💥

but if minnie didnt abandon vi before the explosion, why wasnt minnie near vi in the water post-explosion? minnie had to have left vi alone and vulnerable at some point in all of this and we know how vi feels about being abandoned... minnie is more focused on trying to save the remaining delta and doesnt seem to have even tried looking for vi if they Were separated by the blast (and if they were together when the bomb went off (which vi says they were) minnie wouldve known vi was caught in the blast, but it doesnt seem like she cares)

violet being violet i do think shes still also worried about minnie on some level because her whole thing is being the "protector" of the group and her feelings towards minnie are (as she later admits) Very messed up atm (shes always just wanted to save her). where saved violet recognizes minnie has chosen the delta in 403, i think here on the beach is where kidnapped vi is forced to accept it, and she realizes who it is she can Truly rely on instead

Damn, so I had a date today with a guy that I've been talking with for 2 months. I didn't get much rest cause I was really nervous, but I still made myself very cute. I got to the place early and let him know that I was there and he said that he was gonna be late. Then maybe 15 minutes goes by, and he says he wasn't coming. I'm just so confused, Why would you ask me out and set the date and time when you had other obligations??? What's bad is that I was down bad for him too. Ugh, hope your day has been better than mine!

Idc what his reason was, if it was an emergency he should've explained himself and if it was something else then he should've grown up and just not set up the date in the first place. You are wonderful and your time is valuable, do not waste it on him any longer bc he is just gonna waste your time!! Life is short, you've gotta live it to the fullest, not waste time on little boys who won't even show up to their commitments

Wow. I created this blog like 2 months ago just because I wanted a special place where I could talk about Astarion (and my Durge), and my other blogs didn't seem appropriate, and now there's almost 100 persons following this blog (92 exactly o_O) and whaaaaat?!
