I have to say, I don't really understand the logic behind this new storyline with Rose. It seems like she feels left out within the family but surely it would have made more sense for them to do the story with DeeDee. After all Rose is Tony and Diane's biological daughter. DeeDee is not related to any of them.

I suppose what we have to remember is that Rose spent her early years being raised by Tegan and only came to the Hutchinson's when she was about 6. Tegan may not have been Rose's mum biologically, but as far as Rose was concerned, she was. I think it would be challenging for any child to be plonked into a new family, even if they are related to them.

There's also the fact that I can imagine a lot of the Hutchinson's attention has been focussed on Dee Dee due to her being seriously ill a few years ago. I think we saw a bit of that a few episodes ago when Diane walked off to get ready with her arm around Dee Dee and Rose was left standing there. I can definitely see there being a rivalry between Rose and Dee Dee in the future.

Are we meant to believe that the Hutchinson family don't care even a bit about Strry splitting up when Harry has been terrified about what it'd do to his family and how he can't start drama whilst Deedee is sick.

I think they’re preoccupied by Tegan’s death, Dee Dee and Rose, etc... but I hope we get some kind of confrontation today, we’ll see...

Do you see harry living? And if he does do you see him choosing James ?

I think the fear of Harry dying is mostly fueled by Parry’s holiday trip. But storywise it would make zero sense to kill him off. Especially without warning that Parry is leaving the show. His death would just enrage way too many fans and for a character that technically speaking still has a lot left to tell, he’s just not very high on my list. Hunter I have far higher or Teegan and Romeo’s mum, who just so happens to be in town and we know Juliet will be join the show, so maybe she’ll be forced to stay with her brother because their mum’s dead. Harry’s death just makes no sense with everything else the Hutchinson’s and Ste already have on their plates. Teegan only makes sense because the secret is out and that timing just screams, we had to reveal it now for drama because something will happen to either Deedee, Diana or her. Ross (Who plays Scott) did an interview on the 10th of September still talking about only recently being done with the stunt. Stunts take a lot of time to film, so it’s definitely done in parts. The first part will most likely have been the outdoor scenes, followed by everything else that happens, depending on how the wedding goes (affair exposed or not). The soap still has many other stories that need solving before Christmas. Like Who Killed Carl? and Glenn’s comeuppance. I think after the stunt we will simply see less of the ‘Key stunt’ characters and focus more on these two groups. Meaning if Harry ends up in Hospital, he can easily be of our screens for a few weeks, maybe appear once, but those scenes can be filmed a week ahead. (They filmed a Stendan scene spread out over a week, 2 weeks before the episode aired because they suddenly realized the need for it). Hollyoaks doesn’t film chronologically at times, they use actors for a certain amount of weeks and then focus on other actors. It’s more effective than filming script for script for the actors. Rickey was on the set in July, the scene airs in October. The Loose woman presenters were on set last week, the scene airs in November. Sinead is already filming some Christmas scenes for presumably late December.

I think Jarry is the endgame here between the two couples. Simply because it’s being set up that way. With nobody approving of this relationship but them.It’s a classic soap trope and one that tends to be very good, I don’t see them throwing that away after the build up.   It might not happen right away. But when Harry returns it will James he will fight for, or James he will chose. Them against the world.

Add to Bath:1/4 tsp Core

1/4 tsp essential shield

1/2 tsp eucalyptus

1/2 tsp pine needle

A few drops of frankincense

Mix with 2 cups kosher salt and 1 cup Epsom salt

Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (27th April - 1st May 2020)

There was more Deveraux drama this week as the family came to terms with the fact that Felix had sold Toby and Celeste as babies. The news was even more difficult for Martine to process as she discovered that Walter had been aware all along. After her discovery, Celeste went home to share the news with Toby, who was furious and wanted to take revenge on both Felix and Martine, believing that there was no way Martine couldn’t have known. However, Celeste told her Brother that she was certain that Martine knew nothing, and suggested that she was just as much a victim as they were. 

Walter, meanwhile, tried his best to explain himself to Martine but the pair were interrupted by Felix and Lisa, and Martine was horrified to discover that she and Felix had spent the night together. Later that day, Felix was brutally attacked by Toby in the alleyway and left for dead. The following morning, news of the attack on Felix spread, and Celeste was horrified to realise that Toby had been responsible. Determined to keep up appearances, the pair went to the hospital to find out how Felix was, also hoping to find out just how much he remembered when he woke up. At the hospital, Toby was still consumed with rage, and questioned whether he should finish Felix off whilst he had the chance, however, he was interrupted by Mitchell. Mitchell soon made a terrible error when he suggested that it would be better if Felix didn’t wake up. Having heard Mitchell’s words, and knowing that the police were sniffing around, Celeste gave them Mitchell’s name, leading to his arrest. 

Elsewhere this week, Verity returned to the village and announced that she was sticking around for good. Verity’s attentions soon turned to work, and she suggested to James that they set up their own law firm. Sami saw the pair together and asked to join them as a third partner. Verity agreed, but only if Sami was able to find a suitable premises for them. Sami soon came good when Courtney agreed to sell Donovan’s to them, on the condition that Maxine was kept on in some capacity.

In other news this week, concerned about his new pills, Tony decided to stop taking them, unaware that Edward had tampered with them. Marnie returned to work after her falling out with Juliet, and finally, the Hutchinson kids discovered that Hollyoaks is not a suitable environment to grow up as they witnessed an almighty scrap between Martine and Lisa at the Easter egg hunt!

Good Riddance, Breda...

Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (6th-10th January 2020)

It was finally the end of Breda this week as her identity as the serial killer was revealed. However, following Breda’s scheming last week, the police were thrown totally off the scent as they arrived to arrest Mercedes for the murders, just as the McQueen’s were sitting down to a late Christmas lunch. Meanwhile, over at The Hutch, Darren was rushed to hospital following the stabbing, but there was relief all round when Misbah revealed that he was going to be fine. Back at The Dog, Mercedes was released pending further investigation. Whilst she’d been gone, John Paul had been doing a spot of detective work and discovered the box of ‘evidence’ that Breda had been hiding. He shared his discovery with Mercedes and the pair came to the shocking realisation that Breda was the serial killer. However, the pair knew that they’d need more evidence before the police would take them seriously so, whilst John Paul kept Breda distracted at home, Mercedes headed for the pig farm...

Events at the pig farm escalated quickly, as Tony was discovered, Sylver was stabbed, the place was set on fire, and finally, Breda was stabbed through the head with her own knitting needles . Tony and Sylver were rushed to hospital, and Diane, who’d been at the hospital attending an event with Edward, was shocked to see her husband wheeled past her. This particularly threw a spanner in the works, as Edward and Diane had just decided to get together properly. However, Diane was relieved to know that Tony hadn’t left her, and told Edward that they must never speak of what had happened between them. Clearly furious that Tony was back, Edward briefly considered not helping him when the machines he was hooked up to began to beep. Why the doctors were unable to hear the noise themselves, we’ll never know. When Tony later came round, Diane showed him some drawings the kids had done. Realising that Edward had wormed his way into their lives, Tony begged Diane to keep Edward away from them...

As Tony recovered in hospital, Diane brought the kids in to see him. Whilst Rose and Dee Dee were pleased to see him, Ant was hostile towards his Father, demanding to know where he’d been and why he’d left them. Despite trying, Tony was unable to explain the true gravity of the situation, which frustrated Ant, who began banging his action figure on the table. The noise took Tony right back to the pig farm and he shouted at his son, frightening all three kids. At that moment, Edward rushed in and demanded to know what was going on. Once the kids were taken home, Tony confronted Edward over his failures as a Father, and Edward spun him a tall tale about how he’d tried to stay involved, but had been thwarted by Tony’s Mum at every turn. Tony seemed to believe his Father, and he later told Diane he wanted Edward to stick around...

In order to help them deal with the trauma that Breda had put them through, Jack, Sylver and Tony attended therapy sessions later in the week. Diane was shocked when Tony broke down in tears, as he grieved for Breda, and became jumpy at every little noise. Meanwhile, Sylver was struggling to know how to feel; he hated his Mum for sending him to prison, but he felt guilty for killing her. Mercedes accompanied Sylver to the session to ensure he didn’t confess to murder (how do the police think those knitting needles became embedded in Breda’s skull?!) and hoped that a reconciliation might be on the cards. However, Mercedes was left devastated when Sylver decided that his future lay with Grace. Jack was also deciding to make a knew start, beginning with a holiday. However, as Jack boarded the ferry, Warren Fox and the twins were disembarking, with Warren telling the kids that it was time to put their family back together. It would appear that Warren hasn’t changed a bit, as he ended the week by kidnapping Brody!

Elsewhere this week, Sienna continued to struggle with Brody and Liberty’s actions, whilst Martine urged her to remember that the pair had only slept together to give her a baby. Sienna later felt guilty when Liberty was rushed to hospital after a scare, and had been alone as Sienna had insisted that Brody spend the day with her. Edward’s daughter, and Tony’s half sister, Verity arrived on the scene, and immediately hit it off with Sami and finally, Jesse and Courtney prepared for their wedding.

Breda in Bother...

Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (21st-25th October 2019)

It was the week where Breda’s odd behaviour finally caught up with her and saw her confess to murder! With Breda still making frequent trips to the pig farm, Goldie began to get suspicious, especially when she realised that her Mother had failed to put the farm on the market like they’d agreed. Things came to a head when Sylver and Goldie caught Breda sneaking out of the flat with a load of food and Goldie demanded that her Mother see a psychiatrist. Enraged at the idea, Breda stormed off to see Tony and ranted at the very idea of speaking to a professional. However, when Tony pointed out that it could be the only way of getting her family off her back, she agreed to see someone. However, things went badly wrong for Breda at the appointment when she ended up revealing far more than she planned to, and the psychiatrist told Goldie and Sylver how concerned she was for their Mother...

With the family worrying that Breda could have dementia, Goldie refused to let her leave the house alone, which was very bad news for both Breda and Tony. When Breda kept trying to escape, Goldie fitted her car with a tracker, and was later furious to learn that her Mother had gone back to the pig farm. Goldie decided to follow her, and was horrified when she discovered Harry’s blood stained wallet in a bin on the farm. With Goldie wanting to alert the police, Breda knew that she had to come clean, and she admitted to her daughter that she thought she’d murdered Harry. Playing up to the psychiatrist’s concerns, Breda put on the performance of a lifetime as she claimed to have killed Harry, believing him to be her late Father...

Meanwhile, there was a shock for Diane when Tony’s estranged Father, Edward, arrived on the doorstep, completely out of the blue. Despite Diane initially sending him packing, Edward refused to give up, and told Diane that he wanted to help in Tony’s absence. Cindy was impressed when Edward managed to sort out her bird problem, and convinced Diane to give him a chance. Diane relented, and Edward was welcomed into the family by everyone but Finn, who was suspicious about his motives for turning up. Realising that Diane could do with a break, plus some adult company, Edward arranged for Leela to have the kids, and then invited Cindy, Mandy, Nancy and Darren round, who were just as impressed by him as Diane had been. But this is Hollyoaks, and it’s surely only a matter of time before he’s revealed as a psycho...

Elsewhere, Brooke and Ollie had their first meeting to discuss the adoption, but it was clear that Ollie was having second thoughts, especially when he discovered that the baby could be placed 100s of miles away and any contact would be at the discretion of the new parents. Not wanting to completely give up the baby, or Brooke, Ollie suggested that Brody and Sienna become the adoptive parents, that way he and Brooke could still be in the baby’s life. Brody and Sienna agreed to give it some consideration, but it soon became clear that they would face opposition from Luke, who was determined that his first grandchild should remain with the family. Luke and Ollie argued over the situation, leading to Luke falling off the wagon again. Cindy discovered Luke in a terrible state the following day and tried to get him sobered up before anyone could see him. However, Ollie walked in and was shocked to see that his Dad was drinking again. Luke decided to take some time out from the village, but was stopped in his tracks when Ollie decided to tell him that he was DJ’s Father...

Finally, determined to get her ‘Cunningham’s Grande Bizarre’ off the ground, Cindy called in the services of Woody, who at first glances, appears to fit the very definition of cowboy builder. The pair headed down to the tunnels below the village, and Woody informed Cindy that she would need a structural survey done to make sure the tunnels were safe to build on. Realising this would delay her plans, not to mention interfere with next week’s stunt, Cindy tried to convince Woody to go ahead with the building work anyway, not realising that Charlie had found his way into the tunnels and could hear everything. The following day, Tom was concerned to discover that £30000 of his money was missing. Charlie told Tom what he’d overheard in the tunnels, but Tom refused to believe that his sister could be so reckless with health and safety. However, after speaking with Woody, Tom was furious to realise that Cindy had bribed him to start building without the necessary checks.

5 Things We Learned This Week:

1. Furthering the plot is more important than actual logic. Breda, there are such things as shops. Why not just buy food for Tony rather than smuggling it out of the house and risking your family catching you? Oh, yeah. Because the show need your family to believe you’re losing your marbles! Silly me!

2. According to Breda, a storm is coming. No, Breda. That was last year. I think you’ll find a crane is coming...

3. A poor diet is the biggest cause of hospital admission, according to Edward. I thought it was merely living in Hollyoaks village that was most likely to land you in hospital?
