Craft Notes 9/1/2024
Greetings! Yay, it’s a new month so I am starting several new projects today!
First off I am going to start 2 new recycled denim quilts with my sister’s old jeans. I will be using the blankets to either stuff or back the blankets.
I am starting a new pair of socks with a pattern that I designed myself in my sister’s memory.
I’m also planning on knitting a pair of socks with this yarn but I will wait until the first pair is done.
I’m also planning to start a basic raglan sweater with this Brava yarn.
This month I also would like to set a goal to finish my diamond art kit!

Solarpunk aesthetic week - Denim!
So the picnic blanket I actually started putting together ages ago but haven't shared any pictures.
My orginal idea was for the blue side to have flowers on and then use black and grey denim to do a side with constellations but I don't have enough old black denim to do even half the size of the blue.
I worked in primark for two years as my first job so went though a lot of £4 jeggins cause they were no longer usable for work once the knee ripped but hey I've got a picnic blanket now, still want to find a nice flowery fabric to do the edges though.
While I didn't have enough black denim for the blanket I did have enough to make a vest which isn't finished but it's a High Republic themed because I want more people to know about my favourite Star Wars era.
(A brief summary of the High Republic: it takes place 350 years (phase 2) to 100 years (Acolyte) before the prequels, it is probably the most diverse era of Star Wars both in terms of queer rep and race. The authors are so supportive of the fans a few of them follow cosplayers and other creatives. "The force will be free" is based off the path of the open hand who are the bad guys in phase 2 and "We are all the Republic" is a Jedi saying however since Celebration it's became a lot about the fans and community (again the authors supporting us) It's currently comics, books, 2 audio dramas, a kids show (Young Jedi Adventures) and our first live action show comes out next year called Acolyte)
