ah yes tehran. the award-winning rainbow peace world capital. where only people unrelated to the boastful nuclear program live.
you know where the IRI harbored antisemitic terrorist and oct 7 co-conspirator ismail haniyeh, glory to the martyrs, killed in july 2024.
and, because of which, iran pulled a billionary wasteful jihadi PR stunt called op true promise ii, last october?
let me remind you: around 200 missiles launched towards ""military targets"" in eretz yisrael. you know, like this one:
which i bet you condemned? or is your integrity also a PR stunt?
iran not just conspired or enabled, they eventually made hamas's cause their own and brought it home. in the real world, that has a cost. at this point they could eliminate khamenei in the middle of a discourse calling to nuke israel, show houthis trampling the magen david with their "curse the jews" chants, and the antizionist rhetoric would still be "evil tzahal bombs civilians on purpose :( the war crimes, the humanity, the poor middle eastern peoples' freedoms!"
i repeat because the defiance of all logic in these crypto antisemitic bs activist posts is daunting- did you magically wake up in a world where the islamic republic of iran didn't, around the first anniversary of the simchat torah pogrom -the largest pogrom against jews since the holocaust-, FIRST shoot 200 missiles towards all eretz yisrael, indiscriminately, mostly as a very expensive stunt, resulting in a dead palestinian?
to me, you're the moral equivalent of shoah revisionists/denialists. and at least nazis cared for their own people in germany. jihad apologists and theocratic nuts don't give a fuck about peace or people. they care for how they can use them to further their own power in tehran and qatar, or just keep the rhetoric up that fuels their causes and gets more israelis killed.
israel however exists and fights so that jewish people still have a place in the world- their own. never again is now, and never again means denuclearizing iran. if that's depravity, then prepare for more, because israel will win every war they did not start.
to bomb apartment blocks in tehran while obsessively claiming you're only targeting nuclear sites is truly depraved

We are now in a Strangelove Situation. Like it or not, Israel is fully committed and can only escalate. After a decapitating strike aimed at Iran's leaders and nukes, there is no option of giving up and going home. They have to achieve either denuclearization or regime change, or both. There is a real chance of a good ending but it is okay to feel queasy and wish this hadn't started. Of course, it didn't just start Friday, it started Oct. 7th, or 1979, or 1929, yadda yadda.
Apparently Trump was taken by surprise by how well things went, how lopsidedly in Israel's favor. He is now saying America is committed too, and he isolated and undercut Tulsi Gabbard (who, because she is a grifter, will not resign over this).
Israel supposedly can't collapse the underground Iranian plants without some bunker-buster-bo-buskers that they don't have but America does. From both a technological and security standpoint I don't quite understand why Israel has neutron bombs but not those. They can't invent the things themselves, clone the tech, steal them? What's really interesting is that there was a lot of will-he-won't-he about 13 years ago on whether Obama would sell the bunker-busters to Israel, and apparently he was willing to at first, then decided not to because Netanyahu gave that speech to Congress opposing the nuclear deal. Not sure why neither Trump or Biden took the option. But it is worth noting that if Bibi had just kept his mouth shut and not been as antagonistic as possible towards a sitting POTUS, he'd have gotten the bunker-busters and then Trump would have withdrawn the nuclear deal anyway. There's got to be some classical tragedy figure that represents this.
Will Trump jump in now, when all aerial risk is ended, and finish off the underground sites? Will the top 4 dudes in IRI retire to Moscow?
It would be wonderful to see the ayatollahs fall and Iran cease to be a hostile, terror-exporting country... no matter how much Trump, and Netanyahu, do not deserve any such "victory" and should never, either of them, have been in a position to make such choices.

“Three decades ago, the newly independent country of Ukraine was briefly the third-largest nuclear power in the world.
Thousands of nuclear arms had been left on Ukrainian soil by Moscow after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. But in the years that followed, Ukraine made the decision to completely denuclearize.
In exchange, the U.S., the U.K. and Russia would guarantee Ukraine's security in a 1994 agreement known as the Budapest Memorandum.”

I have to add that as person who do not believe that you can have functional nuclear arsenal in decaying country like ruzzia, I even more find disgusting when some western politicians and oligarchs claim that fear of nuclear warheads will fall in hands of some "criminals" and blah blah blah is why West always have to prevent another collapse of ruzzia.
Stop pretend like right now ruzzian nuclear arsenal (defunct but anyway) in hands of some normal people....
The tragedy of Europe and ours is that Russia cannot sustain itself as a normal, functional country.
Before 1914, Russia was incapable of modernizing or industrializing. It completely collapsed during the First World War, the Tsar was killed, and the Bolsheviks came to power.
Stalin tried to industrialize rapidly—through absolute terror and famine. It was in vain. The Germans nearly finished them off—they only managed to hold on with 20 million dead, relying on weapons and ammunition from the USA and aided by the winter cold.
After the Second World War—helped by the entire West—they took half of Europe, all the way to Berlin. Their industrial center stretched from Donbas/Ukraine to East Germany. Massive. Still in vain. They went bankrupt and collapsed—AGAIN—in just 40 years.
The USSR disappeared, and Russia fell into bankruptcy once more.
Afterward, the West helped them again with technology and bought their gas. And China bought their oil and everything else. They made a bit of money. But they know—in their current form, they cannot sustain themselves again and will collapse once more (as electric cars and green energy push them out of the market).
So they attack Ukraine, mind you, ALLOWED by the West to do so. But the Ukrainians are fighting back, and they haven’t been able to advance for 3 years. Disaster. They’re on the brink of collapse.
Now, once again, the USA has to come help them. Pathetically.
Maybe everyone needs to realize that country cannot sustain itself—it’s fundamentally unsustainable. The only solution is for it to break apart into republics and reconfigure itself that way.
You can’t have a country that’s constantly in ruins and, because of that, becomes aggressive and wrecks the lives of millions of people over and over and over again.
Enough.»

One of the most fascinating things has been seeing the Democrats constantly embrace being the Pro-War Party. The Democrats seceded so much ground that Donald Trump was able to credibly position himself as the Anti-War, Pro-Peace Candidate TWICE. And now we have the LEADER OF THE DEMOCRATS upset that Donald Trump might revive Obama-Era Denuclearization Deals with Iran.

The real leader yesterday was Zelenskyy, him and him alone. Once again, Trump is making it clear that he plans to destroy America’s relationships with its allies. If you’re wondering why we support Ukraine alongside Europe, look at the Budapest Memorandum. The US, UK, and Russia agreed to this pact in 1994, providing security assurances to Ukraine in exchange for its denuclearization. Russia has been violating that agreement since 2014 when it annexed Crimea. Now, as Trump turns his back on Ukraine by suspending aid, it appears the US may go back on its promise too.
This isn’t just about Ukraine. It is about standing by our allies, keeping our word, and defending democracy against authoritarian aggression. Weakness is not supporting Ukraine. Weakness is abandoning them.

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of Workers' Party of Korea's Central Committee

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of C.C., WPK
Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) - Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued the following press statement "The anachronistic 'denuclearization' idea of the U.S., Japan and the ROK can never affect the position of our state" on April 8:
The diplomatic authorities of the U.S., Japan and the ROK again talked about someone's "complete denuclearization", terming the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's exercise of its sovereign rights a "threat" at the recent NATO foreign ministers' meeting.
It only fully exposed the uneasiness of the U.S., Japan and the ROK in a desperate plight of having to talk about "denuclearization" in chorus although they just know that "denuclearization" of us is nothing but a daydream that can never come true.
Just two months ago, we clarified how stupid the U.S. is in pursuing the goal of "denuclearizing" the DPRK, something utterly impossible and unrealistic in practice and conception.
They still talk about "complete denuclearization," lost in the past daydream that brought them to failure, revealing themselves how anachronistic and absurd their level of political judgment is.
Did they come up with a good way to realize someone's "denuclearization" whenever they had a loud brainstorming session?
If they frantically cry out for "denuclearization", really believing in it, they must be termed nonsensical.
The position of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as a nuclear weapons state, established along with the existence of its substantial and very strong nuclear deterrent and permanently fixed in its supreme and basic state law according to the unanimous will of all its people, is a result of the inevitable option which accurately reflected the hostile threat from outside and the change in the present and future world security mechanical structure. So it does not change no matter how desperately anyone denies.
We don't care about anyone's denial and recognition and we never change our option.
This is our steadfast choice that can never be reversed by any physical strength or sly artifice.
If anyone openly talks about dismantlement of nuclear weapons before us or seeks to revive the dead concept of "denuclearization" under various pretexts, it just constitutes the most hostile act of denying the sovereignty of the DPRK and forcing it to renounce its constitution and social system. I made it clear once again on this occasion.
The nuclear forces of the DPRK not only play a key role in deterring aggression and threat from outside and defending the sovereignty and security of the state but also make an important contribution to ensuring the regional and global balance of power and strategic security.
The only way for the U.S., Japan and the ROK to defuse their current security concern is to completely refrain from their unilateral attempt to change the status quo and shake the present position of the DPRK and sincerely find a method to avoid head-on conflict.
If the U.S. and its vassal forces continue to insist on anachronistic "denuclearization" while talking about "threat" from someone, it will only give unlimited justness and justification to the advance of the DPRK aspiring after the building of the strongest nuclear force for self-defence.
The DPRK will make steady responsible efforts to thoroughly defend the supreme interests of the state and ensure regional peace and stability, given that the U.S. has gone to extremes in its nuclear threat and its nuclear alliance is getting desperate in its confrontational moves as days go by.

RT reports: In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Trump stated that “climate lunatics” predict minor sea-level rises over centuries but ignore a threat of a nuclear war that could happen “tomorrow.”
“They talk about global warming, and they say the ocean is going to rise one-eighth of an inch in the next 300 years. And nobody ever talks about nuclear weapons,” he said.
“I watched [former US president Joe] Biden for years say the existential threat… is from the climate. And I said, ‘no’. The greatest is sitting in shelves in various countries called ‘nuclear weapons’ that are big monsters that can blow your heads off for miles and miles and miles,” Trump argued.
Advocating for global disarmament, Trump proposed on Thursday that all nations eliminate their nuclear arsenals. He pointed out that the US and Russia currently hold the largest stockpiles, while China is rapidly expanding its capabilities. Trump called for talks on denuclearization, emphasizing the “crazy” power of these weapons.
Moscow said in response it would be ready to engage in arms control discussions with Washington. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov underscored the necessity of such dialogue for global security and suggested that European nuclear powers, such as France and the UK, should also be included in these talks.

i didn't know ukraine was forbidden from striking on the russian territory. does this mean only rockets and any other heavy strikes are banned? because as far as i've heard, ukranian drones attack russian territory practically daily, esp in belgorod, and lately, the south around krasnodar or something. obv they don't do as much damage but still, it's not without victims
Ukraine has been restricted to using its own weapons for the attacks on Russian territory - and unfortunately, we have very few weapons that are nothing like Russian missiles. At least the situation with drones is getting better.
But a few days ago, more and more countries finally starting giving their permission, although it's still very limiting. A good start, though... even if it happened on the third year of a full-scale war.
On the one hand, yes, the countries that help us have the right to dictate whatever terms they want. On the other hand, many of these countries helped de-arm and denuclearize Ukraine. And of course there is a factor of humanity. It's similar to a bunch of people finding a person in the swamp and deciding to hold them by their hair for years, taking turns, instead of using the easily available phone to call for help or come up with something else. Not letting them fully drown, but ultimately just prolonging their suffering and letting them feel like they are about to die every now and then, over and over again.
