I present to you my angel and my righteous man

You've already seen Derek but here is Liam, I've redesigned him since he looked WAY too much to Akira Fudo but now he looks like a weird Latinamerican-Sam or Dean winchester who wears leather instead of jeans 💀

In my story with them, Righteous men are born from reapers who fell in love with a human they refused to "kill" (Reapers don't actually kill, they separate souls from bodies when the later decays, or when the soul is running out of spirit, the cosmic energy). Most of righteous men are tied up to a reaper until they fullfill their righteous duty despite not knowing what it is. The reaper's purpose is to "mow" the path of the righteous man, this meaning that if needed, those close to them but that interfere with their duty would be in danger or die.

Reapers are not in control of their bodies, they are tied by the red thread of destiny, with their eyes, ears, mouth and brain sewed, since their judgement can't interfere (See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, think no evil... do no evil)

Derek is a driachota, a distant relative of angels, born from them and celtic deities. Driaochtas are their own species, they are similar to witches with the difference that their powers are celestial and connected to Heaven, like having their own grace or angelic aura. There are times a driaochta could be born a dormant angel, the easiest way to notice is that they are born hermaphrodites, but sometimes they get confused with intersex newborns and years later you have situation's like Derek's

Derek awakened after their father removed a curse from himself, one that prevented him from being close to those he loved otherwise they could die/be in danger (similar to the righteous man curse), for Derek's parents it was the most traumatic experience when their child started vomiting black goo, not only because of the awakening but because Derek's wings were growing inwards and were damaging their body, they had to cut their back to allow the wings to come out and after that, their body healed and became fully an angel, but it was the most painful thing the three of them experienced.

Liam is stupidly in love with Derek, Derek doesn't want to fall in love (Secretly afraid they may die like the angels they see in fiction)

So, I have my own Righteous Man/Hunter and Fallen Angel and for some reason while I was doodling them I imagined the next scenario

Liam: Hey Dee, can you help me paint my nails?

Derek: -In a neutral but amused tone- ... Never seen a hunter who does that

Liam: Well, duh. Removing blood stains from your hands is easy but the nails always get a bit dyed so I rather paint my nails black

Derek: -Famous angelic head tilt™- Do people really pay that much attention to others's hands?

Liam: Believe me, people DO and I'm tired of saying I was eating flaming hot cheetos

Derek: Oh, ok

Also me: -Goes to watch content of ANOTHER gay angel-

Did another drawing of Derek, this time I wanted to test how my grayscale doodle looked like with a bit of color, I think I may consider this style in the future

The world must be happy my Oc Derek is not in Supernatural. The only way I can imagine this dude in it is just:

to ask Castiel if he wants to make angel babies with him

tell Dean to suck a motherfucking dick, maybe that way he won’t be so angry all the time

Adopt Jack and let all the mom instincts fluourish with the kid

ask Sam if he and Dean where conceived AND born in the Impala

ask Castiel for the 1278312893 if he’ll marry him since Dean is a pussy

We have Rin from Vocaloid Song & Light Novel, Alluring Secret ~Black Vow~ Panty Anarchy, from the anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt And obviously, Castiel from the TV show Supernatural

Finally managed to sketch something after 4 days of having a hard time drawing :c  I’m very glad about the results of these two, I think I like to draw Derek in this style Feel free to support my work or to read my comics

Sometimes I come up with phrases and then a whole ass scene (or well, just a part of it) like, I'm somehow kind of having really interesting ideas with my Angel Oc, Derek like

seriously I was taking a bath and tought "The hopeless angel that fell in love with fiction"

And then I begin to imagine about him obsessing with angels from media, be it movies, music, literature, tv shows and such. And I'm like whoa, that'll be a lot of research if I were to write/draw something like that. Then slowly I imagine another character (Which is Liam, his romantic insterest) who is complaining to him about his overfixation

"Why are you watching this!? It's just plain sad! The angel is the one that is always sacrificing the most of them in these stories! They can't be themselves! They have to lose their wings, become mortals, become humans! They even have to sacrifice their happines or their lives! They either die or never get the chance to be together with who or what they love! It's depressive!"

And then Derek would look at him, with soft eyes and holding close to himself a book with another one of those stories.

"Because they give me hope, they bring me peace about my own destiny, to help me cope in case my fate is the same as theirs. Because even if it's just a crumb, happiness is still happiness... I don't feel alone, I don't feel that I don't belong, or that I'm different from other angels... I feel that this World won't become my master thanks to them, and that I have a friend... and so, I won't become this World's enemy. And I know, a part of me is terrified and reading these stories is not helping, but I can't stop... I can't stop reading them, is... bittersweet, I know"

I’m tired, Liam. I’m tired of all these stories but I can’t stop reading them... I’m constantly reminded that death, sadness or darkness awaits me... Are happy endings something forbidden to angels like me? Are we only meant to be part of someone else’s story? If I were to say I love you... would that mean it’s time to say goodbye? I don’t want to become another angel of tears, I don’t want to see you die...

Re-Designin Derek once again and giving him a new attire. I want him to look more androgynous since there are times I draw him too masculine or too femenine.

As always, part of his core inspiration is Dean Winchester (Supernatural) and Ryo Asuka (Devilman OVA) but I’m trying to put a bit more of Gerard Way on Danger Days onto the mix, because everytime I think about Dee is while listening to said Album.

Basically, I've just slammed part of Dean's S1 personality with Ryo Asuka's looks but modern.

My main goal is to keep Derek androgynous but start with a masculine base to eventually show his femenine side too, and I'd love to explore his identity after the big bad is defeated, because he won't have excuses to avoid the topic.

Obviously, when it comes to art I always end up drawing him one way or another, is not a solid, shifting thing like I plan for the comic.
