MC: friend. He once helped MC get new paints 10 minutes before an exam when she realized they ran out (MC had to pay him 5 bucks for that).

Ayn: Cousin from the mother's side. Desmond stopped seeing Ayn after Quinn died; they had grown apart from then. They started getting along once again after joining St. Shelter.

Sebastian: Desmond finds Sebastian annoying; his tactics of promoting his club is horrible and he is also known to be a scammer. Despite all that, Desmond can't help but constantly tease and push Sebastian around. (They're besties, your honor.)

Clarence: childhood best friend. Clarence used to be online friends with Desmond when they were kids; they were close then, but they stopped contacting each other after Clarence got busy with his studies. Desmond’s change in personality made himself a stranger to Clarence; he has a hard time believing Desmond is a delinquent now.

William: Desmond calls William a mosquito.

Because he always buzzes around his ears. (William doesn't suck blood tho-)

Cael: Unknown. Desmond only knows him as a professor.

Alkaid: hostile. Alkaid is nice to Desmond, but he doesn't like him.

Lars: That cool manga enthusiast who drops by the school once a year. He's also like an uncle figure to him.

Backstory: Desmond grew up in a strict household. He was well-mannered and polite as a kid. However, he began to change during his freshman year at St. Shelter.

Academy life: He is a business major in his third year. He has quite an infamous reputation around the campus. Students say he's rude and careless, and doesn't give a damn about the rules – however, he's the top student in his class.

Gavin’s pain in the ass™. Desmond tried to sneak into the oractice room several times and got caught.

Delinquent on the outside, absolute math nerd on the inside.

His father is David Anderson. He’s a part of the Feinz group.

Desmond said that his mother is Quinn's sister. His mother works as a banker.

Desmond met Ayn’s father once. And he never wishes to see him again.

He is actually close to O'Connor. He helped O'Connor run the Student Council when he was still president.

He's the roommate of Gerald.

He's also known to get the first prize in a math competition; students contact him to help with their homeworks. (Of course, Desmond asks them to pay for his services)

Desmond was once caught sneaking out to smoke during a camping trip where he was paired with Clarence.

Desmond is interested in learning how to play the guitar. He even tried to sneak into the practice room without permission; which made Sebastian furious, but Desmond continued to fiddle around with the guitar.

His favorite dish is chazuke.

You watch her narrow her eyes a bit before she’s sprawling herself halfway on top of you. “You ask the dumbest questions sometimes, you know that?”

You can feel her smile against your neck as she pulls you tighter into her embrace.

Taylor: They yawn sleepily in your face when you wake them only to immediately clap their hand over their mouth. “I’m sorry, MC. What was the question…?”

You repeat the words, nosing against the side of their face and breathing the scent of spearmint and old books that was uniquely them. “Oh,” They mumble against your cheek before curling deeper into your arms. “Of course I like-like you!”

Rania: She blinks her eyes open slowly and you’re once again struck by how…gorgeous she is. She just woke up and yet looks as though she just walked off a runway…

In a moment she’s pressing a kiss against your forehead, cooing sweet words into your ear. “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t, gameel.”

Kazu: He’s still awake and in the middle of mediation or conversing with his father; you can never tell which. Still, you mumble the words if for no other reason than to simply dislodge them from your throat. When he doesn’t react you crawl back beneath the blankets, pulling them up to your chin, and closing your eyes to try and coerce yourself back to sleep.

You nearly scream when you feel his chilled arms snaking around you from behind. “Like-like, of course.”

Aquila: She’s typing something and writing something down on fancy parchment that you can feel magical energy radiating from when you mumble the question. She stills, turning to look at you with eyes swirling with so many emotions you can’t manage to name them all, before you catch sight of her hesitant smile. “I love you, MC. That’s something you won’t have to ever worry about.”

Desmond: He’s awake though it’s not something you realize until you see glowing green eyes peering at you through the darkness. You can see something in his eyes, some unknown emotion that seems deeper than you can comprehend, but then he smiles and it’s gone. “I’ve only ever loved three people in my life, you know. I’ve only really liked a handful.” He brushes his fingers across your cheek and you’re surprised at the heat.

“My sisters, my mother….and you, are the only things that have ever mattered to me.”

Amateratsu: She’s staring at the canopy of the bed, watching the myriad of shifting colors, when your question reaches her ears. You notice her tense, notice her hand shift to the golden cord wrapped around her wrist, and then hear her laugh. “After all the time you spent convincing me of your feelings…I suppose it is my turn now, isn’t it?” The gold in her eyes seems to burn and the smile she wears seems to match.

“Like-like, sweet Hero.”

Raphael: He’s wrapped around you, his wings substituting blankets during the cold night of Chicago, when you mumble the question half asleep into his ear. As soon as it’s out you can feel it; the distinctive shift in the atmosphere as he curls tighter around you. “MC…” Your bleary eyes open to and you see his warm eyes burning with something akin to grief and desperation. “I am sorry…for making you doubt me for so long, for making you feel like I…MC.”

You feel his fingertips glide across your cheek. “I will love you; for the rest of my eternity.”

Mercury: You’re watching him from the corner of your eyes, his breathing even and his eyes shut, and not for the first time you feel doubt creep into you. The words are out before you can stop them. You don’t expect a response, at least not right away. So when you hear his laugh it prickles across your skin like thorns; “Of course I like-like you, you have such appealing qualities~”

You sigh, twisting over in bed and pulling a pillow over your head. Why did you expect him to take this even a little bit seriously? You try to force yourself to focus on falling asleep but your mind refuses to cooperate. Maybe if you just…The feeling of arms wrapping around you has you struggling instinctively; but then you hear the soft snickering coming from behind you and you sag in the grip of your Patron. “My sweet Hero, I…” His words trail off but you feel the gentle press of his lips on your neck.

Guanyin: They’re lecturing their dragons in Chinese, shaking their head with exasperation apparent in their tone. The words leave your lips before you can think better of it and suddenly you have three sets of eyes on you. Laughing nervously you avert your gaze, turning to stare at the canopy above the bed. “Don’t think anything of it, Guanyin-”

Your words are cut off as you find yourself pulled into the arms of your Patron, surrounded by the bodies of two dragons. “Yunqi,” Guanyin’s hands brush across your cheeks. “I love you, Yunqi.”

Hemera: She’s barely awake when you ask the question but her response is immediate; she wraps you up in her arms and guides your head to her shoulder. “It’s sometimes easy to forget how young you are…” You feel her lips brush softly against the top of your head. “Like-like, of course.”

Horus: He’s sitting up in bed, still awake doing...something. Every few minutes a hawk will fly in through the window, land on your Patron’s shoulder or outstretched arm, remain there a few moments, and then fly off. A smile breaks over your face as you mumble the question...and then you almost scream at the piercing green eyes that peer at you from the darkness. “These are...human terms of endearment, correct? Like-like is better than like, I assume. So that’s the answer I will give.”

Nero: He’s asleep, back turned to you, and so the question almost dies on your tongue. Almost. You feel heat swelter around you as Nero wakes, turning the full brunt of his gaze on you as the lights flicker to life in the room. “You would wake me up with such a petty question, wouldn’t you?” He places his hand on your jaw in a light hold, staring at you with something akin to amusement and irritation.

“Do you know what demons do to rise in my father’s ranks? It should be rather obvious by now; they kill the competition. Do you know when the easiest time to kill someone is?” His hand falls lower to rest lightly around your neck, palm resting over the pulse-point of your throat. The temperature returns to normal as he pushes you softly back into the mass of pillows. “In their sleep. With their back turned. Only those I truly trust have the privilege of sleeping with me like this.” A moment later and the lights die out.

Nadia: She’s snoring, loudly, and lying on her stomach.So you clamber on top of her, knees on either side of her, and shake her wildly. It still takes several minutes for her become conscious enough for her to register that you’re trying to wake her. It’s another several minutes later that you make her coherent enough to understand your question. “Huh...?” She grins at you, a sleepy and open grin that has you smiling in return. “O’course I like-like you, MC.” She holds out her arms for you, pulling you in and wrapping herself around you.

As you’re drifting off, you hear her mumble against your skin. “I’ll always love you MC...”

Anthony: His eyes are bloodshot from too much gaming that night so waking him up makes you feel just the tiniest bit guilty. Still, despite the confused mumbling, he wakes and looks at you expectantly. You repeat the question as he burrows into you; his head nuzzles your chest before his mind seems to catch up with your words. He bolts up, staring at you with red tinted cheeks, and stumbles over his words. “Oh! I, uh, definitely like-like you. Do you, I mean would you, I mean...Do you, uh, like-like me?”

You give him your answer in the form of a kiss.

Aurora: You’ve come to learn that the night was a very...active time for your girlfriend. She’s sitting in the middle of her bedroom at the Seelie Court while you bundle yourself beneath the quilt on the queen-sized bed, watching her pore over what could only be classed as a complete mess of various parchments. There’s scrolls, napkins, even a few leafs from what you’ve seen...

The question comes out and she barely pauses when she delivers her answer. “I’m intrigued to see how your story ends, little life.” That’s the only answer you receive.

Luis: It’s one of the good nights; his withdrawals aren’t crippling him with pain or wrecking havoc on his emotions. He’s lying on your bed, wrapped in one of your blankets, and fingers griping one of your wrists even in his sleep. The question carries so much more for the two of you, given your history. Yet his eyes open almost immediately. They glow for a moment, chocolate brown turning to a violet purple, before they return to normal.

His breathing steadies out and his arms curl around your waist. “You are everything to me, MC. But now...I’m trying...I will make you see my devotion. I am not who I was.”

Loren: Tonight she’s sleeping in her jaguar form. Or wait, her jaguar form has come out to sleep tonight. You’re still fuzzy on how to appropriately differentiate between the human and animal parts of a shifter. Still, the question comes out and you see a pair of hazel eyes gleam in the moonlight. The jaguar moves toward you, almost stalking toward you, before lying across your lap. You know jaguars can’t purr...yet the rumbling of Loren’s jaguar feels like it.

YEA lmao she does! her backstory is below the cut cos it's soo long but some fun facts about her:

she pretended to know how to use a gun for like the first bunch of weeks on the island so she could come along on the adventures into the jungle and when the occasion arose that she actually had to shoot she made a silly fool of herself

she vaguely knew desmond pre-island through theatre stuff but can't remember his name and he can't remember hers so when they see each other for the first time they just look at each other like :| trying to remember

shes a locke rights activist because she is a teensy bit delusional (medically) nd she believes in divine paths and everything and also she father figured him early on and can't unfatherfigure him BUT she has a mad rivalry with boone because she called him out whenever he said something cruel to shannon so season one is just locke going through the jungle like this :) and her and boone following him glaring at each other like this >:|

gets left out of soo much of the plot because she will not shut up and can't keep a secret. 3 people will have died and 5 major plot points happen and she is oblivious. like in later seasons that changes she sticks along for more stuff but in season 2?? season 3?? girl she has no idea

she grew up in dublin w/ her mum and dad mostly hanging about at her mum's tiny lebanese restaurant. her mum and dad split when she was 12 & they basically let her pick who she wanted to stay with. she picked her dad because he was the more 'fun' parent but he was one of those dads who would make a really cool friend but a really bad dad. they moved to london and he did sound engineering for loads of underground shows in scummy venues and mo just sort of hung around. got into drugs & alcohol at a pretty young age and even played drums in a really shitty and short-lived band for a bit. this is the origin of her silly little wig because she wore it as part of her stage get up and then just liked it as a fashion statement later.

she tried uni for a year and a half (by this point she and her dad barely talked) and got really into theatre where she became an acquaintance of desmond (who did sets for uni productions before doing sets for rsc) but they never got close. then her grades were too shit to keep doing school and she hopped down to first NZ then australia so they'd have a hard time tracking her down to make her pay her school bills lmaooo. when she moved she changed her name and started going by mo.

she found various and silly ways to make money in australia including but not limited to: sinead o'connor tribute act in pubs, tour guide, very brief stint as an aquarium janitor, fast food cook, and so on. also it feels worth mentioning that she never got a drivers' license and she literally uses her fake ID she got when she was underage as her drivers' license. but she only speeds when no one's looking so no one has pulled her over.

over the few years she's there she basically comes to terms with the fact that she needs to go see her mom again and apologise for not trying to keep in touch at all. like she didn't answer any of her mum's calls or write any letters back since she left. because as a kid she had a really rough relationship w/ her mum which is why she left but it was genuinely not her mum's fault and it took her 10 years to realise that and come around to the fact she has to try and reach out and make things right.

she went through all this to track her mum down without actually reaching out at all and found she had moved to the US and went to school to become an anesthesiologist and was working at a hospital in LA. then she got wet feet about reaching out because she is a coward.

in a pub in sydney right she has a drunken talk w/ another woman at the bar - ana lucia - who was going to try and rebuild a relationship with HER mum and was learning to accept help/love from her mum and mo went huh. yeah i need to go do this. and she buys a ticket, ends up on the same flight as ana lucia, and the rest is history
