Siphonia tulipa is a genus of extinct siliceous sponge characterised by its elegant vase- or tulip-shaped body, often with a central osculum (opening) and stalked base for attachment to the seafloor. These sponges lived in shallow marine environments during the Upper Albian of the Cretaceous period, a time marked by significant marine diversification.

@bxrningdragxn had the wonderful idea to have Steven and Lance raise a tyrunt together!

She doesn't know her own bite strength, which caused a few minor accidents when she first hatched, though she has since learned to show affection in other ways, like asking for head rubs! Her strong jaw ability def didn't help with this issue LOL

Like most of her species, Princess is prone to temper tantrums when something doesn't go her way-- though growing up under two master level trainers helped curb that trait pretty early on.

LOVES head rubs and getting her scales brushed. also she's an absolute clean freak-- in the organizational sense, that is! her toys are sorted into different cubbies dug into her rock den, which are large enough for her to stick her jaws into so she can resort them whenever she pleases. her den/room is simply never messy, everything is in the correct place... unlike her Aunt Shimmer's room! (Steven's skarmory)

'Princess' was originally a placeholder name but she started responding to it so it stayed! much to steven's initial disappointment, since he wanted to give her a cool gem name ... but in the end he's cool with it ofc because that's the name the lil dino chose <3

Princess is super smart... like really smart. Not like, Marbled-level smart (Steven's shiny metagross), but she is definitely more intelligent than the average wild-caught pokemon ... especially for a fossil pokemon!

Fossil Restoration

The first to discover how to revive ancient prehistoric Pokémon from preserved fossils was one Dr. Fuji in the Kanto region on Cinnabar Island in the Cinnabar Lab. Other kinds of research was pioneered here, such as the invention and creation of Porygon and the PC Storage System which was instrumental for the invention of fossil revival.

For some time, Kanto (and, by extension, Johto) were the only regions capable of reviving fossils for this reason until Sinnoh was able to gain access to this technology thanks to their rich fossil deposits naturally found in the region and Bebe’s assistance with the project as her work was built from scratch based on the work done in Cinnabar Lab.

Devon Corp in Hoenn invented their own version of the technology for use in Hoenn and is a bit behind compared to the Cinnabar Lab’s version. After some time, both versions came into widespread use in other regions.

There is some debate as to whether the Pokémon were Rock-types when they were originally alive in the prehistoric age or if the fossilization process altered the physical makeup of these prehistoric Pokémon upon revival.

When Pokémon are revived from fossils, they do not retain concrete ‘memories’ in the traditional sense, but rather they remember what it was like to be alive when they last lived and remembered what that time was like to live in in a general sense. They even have their own language different than that of modern day Pokémon. However, some things seem to be different about themselves than they remember, which does suggest some degree of alteration that takes place within the revival process due to either the fossilization itself or the revival process inherently that creates some confusion for them, though they are consistently quick to adjust.

However, the integrity of fossils seems to be integral to the revival viability of the Pokémon potentially inside of them, as there are some fossils that due to their incompleteness, cannot be revived on their own. This has led to some Scientists (namely in Galar) attempting to complete these fossils using those of other Pokémon, though this is often to mixed and borderline unethical results and is the subject of greater criticism and scrutiny within the paleontology community at large. In many regions, these Pokémon are forbidden due to the poor quality of life that they suffer as a result of their haphazard revival and may even be surrendered and euthanized upon surrender. The Pokémon Association, in response, is currently in the process of reviewing and creating a rigid ethical standard in regards to creating manmade Pokémon and reviving Fossil Pokémon that comes with steep consequences if violated.

Jurassic Park Pokemon Teams

The events of the Pokemon World Jurassic Park are much like the events of the original but with small tweaks.

Unlike the original, this film is more sort of a look into the development of the first Fossil Restoration machine. In lore, fossil pokemon are able to be revived thanks to technology from the Devon Corporation and a research lab on Cinnabar Island. For this story, we are setting aside those two and introducing InGen into the mix. InGen is still a Genetics company that is experimenting in genetic engineering.

Fossil pokemon DNA is impure during revitalization, but through the usage of Ditto's adaptable genetic structure, the DNA of the fossil pokemon are completed. This is of course the stand-in for the frog dna that allows the dinosaurs to change their sex/gender as Ditto is quite literally gender-fluid.

The Pokemon version of Jurassic Park is still an attraction somewhat akin to the wildlife zones in Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Of course, to capture pokemon, you have to pay a fee and use the specialized Jurassic Balls made by InGen, spared no expense. The few fossil pokemon not made for capture is of course the carnivorous pokemon. Other than them, the various herbivorous fossil pokemon of Jurassic Park are able to be captured with the Jurassic Balls.

The pokemon that originally inhabited Isla Nublar are pokemon native to the Alolan Pokedex of Pokemon Sun & Moon and some from Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Some alolan forms such as Exeggutor and Rattata exist, but others like Alolan Meowth do not.

Dr. Alan Grant Alan's team is primarily taken out of the Unova Pokedex of B2W2. This is because of how Archen and Archeops (as well as the Deinonychus Fakemon I will be making later) are based in Unova. Alan's first scene takes place in Montana, which is of course in America.

Sandshrew- Alan Grant is a paleontologist, and paleontologists due their work by digging. The reason why Alan's Sandshrew isn't a Sandslash is because he isn't a pokemon trainer, and more of a caretaker for them.

Drilbur- Another digging pokemon, and unevolved for the same reasons as Sandshrew.

Dr. Ellie Sattler Like Alan, Ellie's team is taken from the Unova Pokedex of B2W2. She

Leafeon- Leafeon's modern way of evolution is through a leaf stone. As a paleobotanist, I'm certain that Ellie encounters those fossils quite frequently

John Hammond A wealthy Scottsman and head of a genetics company, John Hammond's pokemon team mostly comes from the Crown Tundra Pokedex. Although in this version of the story, he comes from Galar as the Crown Tundra is mostly wilderness.

Copperajah- A reference to the novel, Hammond's Copperajah is genetically engineered to be the smallest of its kind much like the elephant in the novel. This Copperajah is unfortunately very weak and very ill.

Mega Aerodactyl- John Hammond's cane has a a piece of fossilized amber with a mosquito inside. To get an aerodactyl in most games, a piece of fossilized amber is needed to restore the pokemon. However, my version of John Hammond does not have this amber in his cane, but in fact a keystone. His Aerodactyl, genetically modified to have the strongest stats and the most beneficial nature, has its own mega-stone attached to it. John's relationship with Aerodactyl however isn't strong, which is required with Mega Evolution. So, during the climax where the raptors are attacking the guests, Hammond tries to be the hero and mega-evolves his aerodactyl. Of course, this goes terribly wrong and the mega aerodactyl, stressed out from mega-evolving, attacks John Hammond.

Dr. Ian Malcolm As Dr. Ian Malcolm is a chaostician/mathmatician, his pokemon represent chaos and other concepts. As for why Dr. Malcolm's pokemon are fully evolved, I'm unsure. I guess I would say its because they're fully evolved because Dr. Malcolm likes the unpredicatable nature of Pokemon battles. His team isn't meant to be that strong however as he still loses to the T. Rex.

Absol- Always predicting the future chaos to come forth and hated for it, Absol feels like the perfect match for the Chaostician.

Gothitelle- another pokemon with foresight, this pokemon was specifically chosen for how it predicts the future: movement of the stars. Dr. Ian Malcolm predicted that everything would go wrong in Jurassic Park through mathematics. Gothitelle is meant to relfect that.

Haxorus- This is a partial reference to the "Dragon's Curve," a fractal that appears in the book to signify the beginning of a chapter. Its meant to signify the chaotic nature of complex systems. Now while Zygarde is a better pokemon to signify this, I decided not to include it as I didn't want Dr. Ian Malcolm to have a legendary pokemon. His Haxorus' ability is Rivalry which is meant to also reflect him kind of butting-heads with Dr. Grant and Hammond, but being flirtatious and kind with Dr. Sattler.

Dr. Henry Wu Jurassic Park's main geneticist, Dr. Wu is responsible for the creation of this Jurassic Park's fossil pokemon.

Ditto- Wu's Ditto is the donor for the fossil pokemon's hybrid DNA. A theory suggests that Ditto is created out of failed Mewtwo clones. I'm not entirely going with this theory, but its with that theory in mind that I'm giving Wu a Ditto.

Ray Arnold Ray was the chief engineer of Jurassic Park. His team is meant to reflect that.

Klang- Mechanics

Magnemite- Electrical mechanics

Robert Muldoon Being experienced with dealing with predators as Jurassic Park's Game Warden, Muldoon is the only person in jurassic park that is capable of handling the fossil pokemon by having a full team. Meaning, like in the novel, Muldoon survives along with most of his pokemon.

Mega Sceptile- In the novel, Muldoon utilizes a rocket launcher on the t. rex. Mega Sceptile's tail can fire off like a rocket launcher.

Gallade- Its foresight ability is capable of helping it fight in battle, and in an environment like Jurassic Park, it becomes even more useful. In some forms of media, Robert Muldoon is shown to carry a machete, and this sharp weapon is also why Gallade was chosen.

Revavroom- A reference to the "Must go faster!" scene from the movie, Revavroom is modeled after gas powered vehicles.

Sandaconda- Another refence to the movie, this is more sort of a reference to the type of gun Muldoon carried in that film.

Bisharp- Bisharp is a pokemon that gives commands.

Zangoose- while seemingly an odd choice, Robert's rivalry with the raptors is meant to be reflected in Zangoose's rivalry with Seviper. However, in the "shoot her scene," Robert's Zangoose takes the place of Joffrey aka the guy who dies from the velociraptor at the beginning of the film.

Lex Murphy Being older than Tim, Lex is suitable for becoming a pokemon trainer. However, a scene in the movie that sets up her role in the final act mentions her being good with computers. This means she wouldn't exactly have a good pokemon team

Scorbunny- In Tim & Lex's first scene, Hammond asks the siblings if they received the gifts he had sent. In this universe, Scorbunny was the gift Lex receives. Lex is shown to like the sport of baseball, especially in the novel. While Scorbunny is based on soccer/football players, it was a close enough answer to fit.

Dedenne- A reference to Lex being a "hacker" in the movie. I didn't want to give her a rotom, so I instead gave her a pokemon with a connection to wire and currents.

Tim Murphy Being around 10 during the events of the movie, Tim is suitable enough to become a pokemon trainer. So, he would of course have a starter pokemon

Sobble- As mentioned in Lex's reasoning for getting a Scorbunny, Tim also gets a pokemon. His of course being Sobble as he does get severely shocked in the movie, and also goes through traumatic situations that would give a Sobble a headache from crying. Also, its a reptile, dinosaur kids love reptiles.

Dennis Nedry The reason why mostly everything goes wrong in Jurassic Park is because of Nedry screwing up the systems. His death reflects that of what happens in the Novel but with more horrifying implications as Dilodelic is not venomous.

Rotom- A mischievious pokemon that messes with technology, it is the perfect match for Dennis Nedry. In the pokemon version of Jurassic Park, Dennis' Rotom causes the system to shut down along with a few additions from Dennis himself.

Munchlax- This one is obvious, but Dennis is a glutton. Of course he's going to have a Munchlax on his team. And yes, unfortunately Munchlax bites the dust in this version of Jurassic Park thanks to the Dilodelic.

Donald Gennaro The "Blood-Sucking" lawyer Donald Gennaro's team is meant to be fitting of that of a lawyer who's only interest is the money of Jurassic Park.

Sableye- Sableye's diet consists of gems and minerals, all things that can make a man rich. Donald Gennaro is similar to this. When he doesn't find money to be made, he disregards it.

General Info Post

Hello, I'm Andrea Saknussemm, a geological survey researcher and fossil expert that formerly worked for Devon Corp. I've since parted ways with the company and have started work with a few others to create an independent museum.

This Museum has several purposes, the first is to create a natural history museum that is run independent of companies like Devon Corp and to be accessible to the indigenous people of Hoenn. The second, is to help protect and preserve the culture of the Draconid people, and make Archaeological and Anthropological papers about our culture and history by Draconid people.

I'm not much of an anthropologist or an archaeologist, but we're also interested in our Fossil Heritage and the Geological history of our homeland.

I will be on occasion making posts on this blogposts including new papers published by this Museum's research team, and willing to answer any questions people might have.

Hi, this is the Mod, I've been around roleplaying for twenty years. My first tumblr rp blog I made now 14 years ago, the last one I ever played I made was from a decade ago now. I wanted to write a few things on here to make clear to anyone who wants to interact:

-I am, as should be obvious above, an adult and not a minor. I'm open to any kind of roleplay. However, please do not use this invitation to be a creep. I've had enough of that for a lifetime. EDIT: While I don't mind roleplaying with minors, please tell me if you're a minor. If you don't tell me you're a minor or lie about your age, I will block you.

-There are some heavy noncanon elements to this blog, and a lot of lore that'll be written here is guesswork or what I feel fits best. Not official sourcework.

--The big thing here is that this blog's idea is that it takes place in an alternate universe where Aster (assumed to be Zinnia's child) did not die, and in fact had children of his own. These children are Andrea and her sisters that might appear on this blog.

-Please keep in mind that my muse's views do not necessarily represent my own views. I prefer to keep bleed to a minimum with the understanding that if my character is mad at you or hates you, that's not a condemnation on my part.

-Any posts with this blue in them will be me speaking out of character, breaking character on something. I will do this sometimes to just make an idle comment, answer questions directed at me, or break character to check on roleplay partners, especially in intense scenes.

Pokémon Champion HC’s that came across my mind for some damn reason PT. 2

Steven

Hailing from a wealthy family, Steven has experienced a lot of people perceiving him as a pompous little rich boy. In actuality, Steven always felt insecure about his upbringing and always tried to prove that nasty stereotype wrong by indulging in his hobbies, like rock collecting and archeology. Steven’s a bright young man and seizes opportunity, never once allowing others to dictate how he should act given his privileged upbringing. Fact of the matter is, it’s been drilled into Steven’s head at a young age by his father to stay humble and to contribute to the work, either outside the company or in the family. The Stone family is a respectable family at the end of the day and that reputation must be upheld by setting a good example, which Steven intends to keep.

Steven’s relationship with Metagross started when he was very little, back when the steely hunk of metal was just a Beldum. These two are SUPER close and Steven treats Metagross like you would a puppy. Metagross is super spoiled, but very kind and protective, especially towards Steven. In a way, Metagross is Steven’s bodyguard but they work well as partners to overcome adversity. Seriously, you do NOT want to get on this Pokémon’s hit list.

As mentioned, I feel like Steven would be a skilled archeologist. The man can run down a list of fossils and the species to a tee. Aside from geological finds, Steven has a knack for discovering fossils and immediately recognizing what Pokémon they are. Seriously, the man doesn’t need to try.

Resides in Mossdeep, but occasionally flies back to Rustboro to see his father as Steven does help out at the company from time to time. Nothing too major, but Steven tends to help with any important news or updates at Devon Co., but he mainly goes to see his dad to check up on him as he’s getting on in years.

Close relationship with Wallace. These two have been BFFs for a long time and trust the other with their very lives. Wallace is definitely more extroverted than Steven, what with his flamboyance and extravagance in Pokémon contests, so Wallace takes the lead all the time while Steven is just fine in tagging along. Low key, though, Wallace does harbor feelings for Steven; he’s just waiting for a perfect moment to confess.

Steven has a HUGE rock collection that it’s almost concerning. Do not let this man lecture you about each and every stone that he has; you’ll be there for at least ten hours.

Wallace

If you look up the word ‘confidence’ in the dictionary, chances are that Wallace will be there. Wallace fears nothing and embraces opportunity with a dazzling performance that will surely awestruck the audience. More of a performer than battler, Wallace takes up the spotlight with little hesitation. His performance career started when he was young and he’s been perfecting his craft for years to be the best that he can be. As with battling, he’s fairly good, although prefers to battle with style and elegance.

Wallace deeply admires Steven. Just to add this in, I personally see Wallace as being bisexual as he had, at one point, dated Winona albeit in the manga. His relationship with Steven has always been very near and dear to him; to the point where it borders on affectionate. Steven is semi-oblivious about Wallace’s feelings for him and Wallace is still waiting for a perfect opportunity to confess. He has dropped hints here and there as a wink-wink-nudge-nudge, either in creative pick-up lines or gifting Steven a rare stone. Regardless, Wallace enjoys being around Steven as he gives him a nice break from Contests and the paparazzi.

Leaning further into the prior entry, Wallace loves coordinating Steven’s outfits. Steven knows how to properly fashion himself, but Wallace happens to take it up a notch with his expertise. I mean, he’ll say that Steven looks wonderful (as always), but a little extra pop brings out extra sparkle in Wallace’s eyes. If there’s any fashion emergency, Wallace is the man!

Aside from Contests and fashion, Wallace loves mythology. He owns a lot of books about Hoenn, Johto, and Sinnoh mythology that he likes to read in his spare time. He’s quite knowledgeable about the history of the Hoenn region, especially when it comes to his hometown of Sootopolis. Sometimes, when chance occurs, he’ll meet up with Cynthia and share the latest discoveries with her and vice versa.

Wallace is a master at self-care. He gives time to replenish himself and his team for a moment of R&R before any event to just take some time to recharge. Heck, he’ll spend maybe a couple of weeks of this to get fully replenished. He treats himself well and does the same for his Pokémon, as well as for other people, like Steven.

He’s often scrutinized for being a bit arrogant towards others due to his lifestyle, but that’s the furthest from the truth. While at times he may be condescending, in truth, Wallace is a passionate person. Whether in Contests or in battle, Wallace plays fair and gives others a chance to shine, not hoarding the spotlight for himself. He wants everyone to stand out in their own unique way, so Wallace encourages this by allowing others to perform at their own pace. It does get to him a bit, but he remains humble and courteous despite what commenters say.

Cynthia

Much like Lance, Cynthia grew up in an isolated location where the terrain can be dangerous if one dares to navigate it. What’s more, the dense fog that neighbors Celestic Town gets incredibly intense the further one ventures out. Therefore, if Cynthia wanted to leave the village, she would have to borrow one of her grandmother’s Pokémon that know the move Defog to get better visibility going. Still, unlike Lance though, Cynthia is a bit of a risk taker. She’ll attempt to navigate her way through the foggy terrain despite the residents telling her not to. As a kid, Cynthia yearns for adventure so she’ll take risks to achieve that dream. By the time she reached eleven, she finally set foot outside of Celestic Town to begin her journey, no foggy cold weather holding her back.

Cynthia’s all black outfit has often made her target with assumptions that she’s a Hex Maniac. She doesn’t quite understand why; she likes the color black and it complements well her hair color and style. To be honest, as a kid, I always assumed that Cynthia was a goth given her design and thought, ‘Oh, so that’s what a goth looks like’. Yes, feel free to judge.

Historian babe. Such a nerd when discovering old ruins and books and will peruse through them thoroughly. Cynthia leaves no stone nor page unturned. If there are secrets to be found, Cynthia will discover them and their deeper meaning.

Leaning into that previous entry, Cynthia is a bit annoying when it comes to factual information. See, Cynthia likes it authentic and dislikes being misled. It wastes her time and she has no patience for it. Give her sources, please! She will fact check it and will prove others wrong if she spots a miscalculation. Do not test her historian skills; your knowledge will get FUCKED.

Quite a competitive battler, as we all know and respect. Cynthia has a bit of a competitive streak but is pretty casual about it. She loves a challenge, so it’s not a problem if someone wants to test their skills against her.

Doesn’t like wearing revealing clothing. Look, Cynthia grew up in Sinnoh, possibly the coldest region in the Pokémon world. She doesn’t mind wearing tank tops or dresses, but anything that reveals way too much, like swimsuits in particular, are a flat out no. She’s quite conservative about her appearance and is well aware that she gets stares from people. However, she holds herself in high regard and keeps an air of pride at the forefront by dressing sharply and comfortably.

Upon thinking about retiring from her Pokémon Champion position, Cynthia would love to write a book about her travels to ruins and share her discoveries with others.
