" But big shopping sites aren't safe for me " , Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist could be a better option for you , may be also safer as you can request the person selling you the item to make it discreet / can also be on the cheaper end , as they tend to be used . It can also be safer on the end of simply picking it up , making it so that there isn't any sort of electronic transaction that can be seen on a bank / phone receipt . 02 , Thrifted / Yard sales are also a good option - not only is it generally more discreet , allowing you to take it home by simply putting it in your bag without any other notice , but it's also generally cheaper , seeing that often times its used items still in a somewhat good condition . " What / where do I look for ? " , I would often suggest Goodwill , as they tend to have a wider range of mobility aids . You can also find them at your local small shops - try calling ahead and asking if they have anything , as they mostly will have more time to look through their storage . " How do I know it's worth it ? " , shopping out is a greater option as you can test out if the aid is good for you . When shopping for aids , test if they are sturdy , if they are the right size for you / there is any ability to diy fix it to your measurements , and how you would be able to put it away / hide it .

When it comes to what sort of aid is the most discreet : Canes : foldable canes are the most discreet , they are compact and are able to be carried in a bag . Double use canes , such as umbrella canes , are also discreet in the sense of being able to play it off as just an umbrella . Rollator : also good to consider a foldable rollators / walkers , ones that also have a seat can be passed off as just portable seats . Wheelchairs : Wheelchairs , unless you live in a spacious area without any judging eyes , are hard to turn discreet . While folding wheelchairs are a thing , plus lightweight ones - like most wheelchairs , they are expensive , and often are badly fitted / uncomfortable . ++ temporary replacements are a better option . Hearing Aids : Hearing Aids kept in their case can very easily be passed out as to be wireless earbuds / there are many hearing aids that resemble simple ear buds. Although , Hearing Aids bought online aren't the most reliable , and may be even dangerous - so temporary / thrifted replacement is a better option .

Where do I hide my aids if I am in an unsafe environment ?

While hiding things from the people you live with can be draining , it is still suggested for your safety .

01 , Folding Aids - Any aid that is able to be neatly folded and easily stored is the best when it comes to hiding . Placing them in bags in also the best , as you are able to take them out once you leave your place . Another way would be having a designated spot outside your place , where you can easily access it once you are out . More ways of hiding them : in drawers , unused umbrella holders , under your mattress , in coat hoodies , old shoe boxes .

02 , Aids with Wheels - While trickier , definitely able . The biggest suggestion is to have folding versions . You can fold them and store in the back of your closet along the wall . You can put it on the frame of your bed and put a mattress over it . If you have a rug , putting it specifically near / under your bed , and then the aid right under the rub can also be an option . If you have a dresser , sliding it between the wall and the dresser's side can help . On top of closets can also be good . When needing to store it for outside use , big portfolios could fit them . 03 , Hearing Aids - Probably the easiest to hide as they resemble ear buds . Although getting custom / decorated cases can be good for disguising them . Nonetheless , if needed , hiding them in small pockets of backpacks , coat pockets , pencil cases can be extra security . If the back of your dresser is a softer material that's able to be cut , cut a ⊏ shape so that it creates a flap , put your aid in and tape the flap , put your dresser back up on the wall - the flap is an easier access than taking out all drawers . Although if you feel like you are in immediate danger for having an assistive aid in your home , prioritize your safety and take the aid out of your home . Folding Crutches . ( need to already have simple crutches ) Cane out of yardsticks . ++ easier , You can make a cane by taking hard pvc pipe , sealing the bottom + adding a stopper ( shaped rubber or foam ) , while at the top you cut out to sides of a handle - a top and bottom , glue it with hot glue and attach it.

While it may not be as sturdy - it's still a good alternative .

"The children are minding themselves, darling. Neither of them are going to fall off of the balcony with wards in place. Relax." The glasses vanished from his hands and she was in his arms once again. "It's Starfall, my love. Dance with me."

She sighed. The kids were safe and having fun and Feyre and Rhys knew every person around them by name. He was right.

"I'm always right, darling."

She laughed aloud at that. "Hardly. But you can keep dreaming."

He leaned down to kiss her, putting an end to her quips and letting her melt against him. She'd never tire of this. Never stop drowning in the taste of him. "Is there a moment we might have a chance of seeing you two with your faces detached?"

She broke the kiss, wincing slightly before the intruding voice processed. "Lucien! You're here!" Rhys scowled when she squirmed out of his hold, but released her in the end so she could welcome Elain and Lucien with a hug. "It feels like ages since I've seen you."

His lips ticked up when she withdrew to embrace her sister. "It's been a busy few months, I'll admit. But we wouldn't dare miss Starfall."

She beamed, squeezing her sister's hand. "And how have you been, Elain?"

"Tired," her sister admitted, pressing her hand to her swollen belly with a smile, "but excited all the same. I can't believe I only have a few months left. The time's flown."

After being mated for nearly four years now, Elain and Lucien had been blessed with their first child. Scurrying over, they flung themselves at Lucien with equal enthusiasm. He grinned right back, ruffling Nyx's dark hair and hoisting Roxana up with one arm. "You've gotten bigger, little girl. How tall are you now, hm?" With the kids well on their way to complete distraction, Feyre caught Elain making a little shooing motion. Go on, she mouthed. Feyre tried to protest, but Rhys was already herding her closer to the edge of the party to winnow away a bit more discreetly.

"Only a few minutes, Rhys," she mumbled when his magic cleared from around them. "They aren't here to watch the kids."

With her next breath she was being guided down to her back, his hand still cradling her head to keep it from knocking back onto the stone. One hand fell to her ankle, his loose hold gliding up her leg to raise the hem off her dress little by little, placing tender kisses and bites along the way. "Let me take you beneath the stars, Feyre."

She couldn't deny this. Couldn't deny him. He hummed into her mind, pleased when the fabric of her dress passed her waist. His fingers traced the edge of her panties before slipping beneath them. "These are new. Too pretty to ruin just yet." In the last eight years of their mating they had to have set some sort of record in lingerie sales with how many sets he'd either misted or ripped to shreds. But that was her last concern now that he had two thick fingers pumping a slow, torturous rhythm inside of her. "Oh," she groaned. Her hips jerked upward and he chuckled, doing nothing to quicken the pace, content to maintain his steady pace until it drove her to her undoing. "Rhys."

Jerking him down by the back of his neck, she pulled him close, nearly shivering at the feeling of his chuckle against her neck. "Fill me up, please. I need to feel you inside of me."

He cursed, low and filthy. She had him now. "My sweet little mate, so wet for me." A snap and their clothes were folded up in a neat pile nearby, his hard length pushing into her in one steady stroke. She clenched down hard, shaking like a leaf as his hips forced her to open for him. "Fuck. Tight little cunt, taking me so well."

She spiraled up higher and higher, praying his shield had held when her scream pierced the air and she came crashing down, her reality lost to sensation. Rhys was close behind, buried deep inside of her as he finally reached his release. "Cauldron, Feyre."

Feyre moaned again as he rolled his hips through the last of his orgasm before withdrawing slowly and easing her up and into his arms, murmuring soft praise in her ear as she finally gathered her senses. "There they are," he whispered. And peeling her eyes open, she was met with the most exquisite Starfall yet. "I haven't seen a migration like this in nearly a century."

They’d had a good day—three errands down, a bookshop stop, and now, groceries. Y/N had been quiet but chipper, dressed in her soft jeans and loose sweatshirt, sipping on an iced tea and joking with Connor about which snacks were “probably worth dying for.”

He should’ve seen the signs earlier. Her hands were colder than usual. She’d stopped sipping her drink. Her smile had faded by the second aisle.

But it wasn’t until they were at the checkout, and she swayed on her feet, that his instincts screamed.

“Connor,” she whispered, fingers curling in his coat. “I can’t—”

He caught her just before her knees gave out.

She was half-slumped against him as he guided her to the side wall of the store, kneeling down beside her. A few concerned shoppers lingered, but he gave a sharp “I’m a doctor—please clear some space,” and they backed off immediately.

Her face was pale. Pulse was racing.

He pulled the mini kit from inside his coat pocket like muscle memory.

Port flush.

Beta blocker.

Zofran.

O2 sat: 93%.

BP: 86/52.

She was close—too close.

He lifted her legs onto his thigh, holding her steady as he delivered the meds and wiped her clammy forehead.

“You’re okay,” he whispered. “I’ve got you, sweetheart.”

Her breathing hitched—but started to slow.

Ten minutes later, she was stable enough to sit upright.

Connor helped her drink water laced with the electrolyte tab and kept an arm around her waist the whole time. He called Ava from the car, just to report the event, and promised he’d bring her home instead of to Med—if her vitals held.

Y/N leaned her head on his shoulder on the ride back.

“You carry that every time we leave the house?”

He nodded, eyes still on the road. “Every time.”

“You’re kind of ridiculous.”

He smiled. “I love you too.”

Because to everyone else, it looked like a small, unassuming case.

But to Connor, it was her lifeline.

And if it gave her a few more safe minutes—

It was worth carrying for the rest of his life.

He’s changing into the suit Marcus made him and by God, he had to admit, it was one of the best things he wore - and Marcus did give them a lot of stuff. He fixes his collar, then shrugs his shoulders so the jacket fits better, whistling low at his own reflection, “Damn,” and he fixes his hair, “Gorgeous,I think Marcus overdid himself with this.”

Her laughing reply comes from the bathroom where she’s changing herself “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” he turns his body around and nods in approval, “I look so good.” The suit Marcus had gifted Rooster was a masterpiece of tailoring and Rooster didn’t think he’d be surprised by the fashion designer and yet he was. It was evident that Marcus had spared no expense in ensuring that every detail was perfect, and Rooster couldn't help but admire the result as he looked at himself in the mirror.

Beatrice blushed at his compliment, a radiant smile gracing her lips. She approached him with a graceful stride, her eyes locked onto his. "And you look incredibly handsome, Roos," she replied, her voice filled with affection.

“Fuck, turn around, let me see the whole thing.” he grabs her hand before she could stop him and she laughs softly as he spins her around, “Fuck, fuck you look so beautiful.”

Beatrice laughed at Rooster's reaction, her cheeks tinged with a rosy blush. "You really like it?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine happiness.

Rooster nodded enthusiastically as he took in every detail of her outfit. "I love it,gorgeous," he said. "You're like a goddess in that dress."

Beatrice's smile widened, and she couldn't help but feel a surge of confidence, inhaling shakily - she was always so happy to hear his compliments even if he always said them. "Well, if you put it that way," she teased, "I might just have to wear it more often."

He took a deep breath and met Beatrice's eyes after a few seconds. "Yeah, I'm a bit nervous," he admitted. "I mean, we don't really know what we're walking into, and that makes me uneasy. But we've faced worse together, and we'll get through this too."

Beatrice nodded, her fingers tracing the lines of his shirt as if trying to calm his nerves through touch. "You're right," she said, her voice gentle. "Yeah,we’ll be okay…we just…well if anything goes bad we can always just leave too.”

Rooster smiled at her, "I know," he said, leaning in to press a soft kiss to her lips. "And that's what gives me strength. Now we better go before we both change our minds…or I do because my God you look so good." he takes a while to let her go, admiring his wife’s assets for a few seconds as she walks ahead of him, “Love you.”

“Love you too.” she giggles, disappearing in Nicole’s room. Bea says something for the little baby, then finally picks her up, meeting Rooster outside. Nikki looked a bit sleep, and a bit annoyed because she was woken from her nap,dropping her head on her mother’s shoulder.

"Hey there, birdie," Rooster said, leaning down to Nikki's level and scooping her up into his arms. "Are you ready to go to aunt Shells' house?"

Nikki blinked her sleepy eyes at her father, her tiny hands reaching out to grasp his shirt. Despite her drowsiness, a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she recognized her dad's face.

Beatrice smiled affectionately at the sight of Rooster and Nikki, her heart warmed by the scene. She adjusted Nikki in her arms, making sure the little one was comfortable. "She's definitely ready for a nap," Beatrice said with a soft chuckle. "But we'll see Aunt Shells first, okay, sweetheart? You are going to stay there tonight."

Nikki let out a sleepy coo, as if in agreement. She had a way of melting their hearts with her baby babble and innocent expressions.

Rooster nodded, picking Nikki with care from Beatrice as they made their way down the stairs. They said goodbye to the dogs, locked everything in the house and then finally entered the Bronco. The day was slowly transitioning into evening, casting a warm, golden glow over the neighborhood.

Beatrice checked on Nicole who was already fast asleep on her seat, “Out like a light.” she tells her husband as he drives out of the garage. She’s currently checking the baby bag she prepared for when Nicole gets at Shells, pursing her lips, “I think I got everything.”

Rooster glanced over at Nicole in the back seat, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he saw his daughter sleeping soundly. "Looks like she's all tuckered out," he remarked, his voice filled with affection. "Must've been a busy day for her."

Beatrice nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with maternal warmth. "She had a lot of fun playing with her toys," she said, her tone gentle. "And she'll have even more fun with Aunt Shells."

Rooster focused on the road as they made their way to Shells' house, the familiar route taking them through the quiet streets of their neighborhood. He couldn't help but look over at the Haltons’ house and notice all the lights - and their car - were out.

"Bea," he said, his voice thoughtful, "They already left."

Beatrice turned her gaze towards Rooster, her brow furrowing in thought. "Yeah," she replied, her tone serious. "Seems rude to be there without us, but…I don’t really care."

Rooster nodded in agreement, his grip on the steering wheel tightening slightly. "It's like they have an agenda or something," he said. "We won’t be there long,gorgeous."

Beatrice let out a sigh, her expression troubled but she had a little smile on her face. "I know," she admitted. "As long as they don’t…I don’t know, act up, it’s fine.”

“Well, we don’t know about that.”

“Yea…we don’t.”

When they arrived at Shells' house, they were surprised to see Shells, pacing around with her hands on her hips, was waiting at the door with a smile on her face. She quickly hopped over to the slowly parking Bronco, leaning down on Beatrice’s side and almost shoving her head in.

Well she did shove her head in.

“Shells-” Bea tries to say but the blonde was already shoulders in.

"Hey there, guys," Shells smiles "You two look great!"

Rooster blinked as Shells greeted them with her usual unhinged enthusiasm. "Thanks, Shells," he replied, pointing at her. "You know you can open the door,right?"

Beatrice, despite the unexpected intrusion into her personal space, couldn't help but grin at Shells' energy. as unhinged as it was. "Oh it’s fine,Roos" she said, her tone appreciative. "Thanks for babysitting Nikki tonight."

Shells finally pulled herself out of the Bronco, straightening up with a proud grin. "No problem at all," she said, waving a dismissive hand. "I love spending time with Nicole, I’m the cool crazy aunt. Besides, it's a great excuse to have a little break from my own life."

Bea frowns a bit, “Everything okay?”

And her friend just waves her hand, “Yeah,yeah, just stuff. Nothing to worry, now!” she claps her hands together, “Bring me the child.”

Rooster walks out so he could open Beatrice’s door and in turn she can open the back door to pick Nicole up, “Don’t say it like that, oh my God. It’s like Nikki is the chosen one or something.” Bea says, hugging her daughter’s sleepy form to her side while Rooster grabs the baby bag before shutting the door.

Shells clapped her hands together excitedly. "Alright, little munchkin," she said with enthusiasm, "Auntie Shells is ready for a night of fun and adventure with you!"

Nicole, still half-asleep, gazed up at Shells with a drowsy expression. She stares at Shells for a few seconds, then yawns again, falling back on her mother’s shoulder.

Shells let out a delighted squeal. "That's right, sweetie!" she exclaimed, scooping Nicole up in her arms. "We're going to have a blast tonight!"

“She didn’t even say anything-”

Shells waved a dismissive hand, her attention fully on Nicole. "No need to thank me, Rooster" she replied. "I adore this little munchkin, and spending time with her is always a blast. You two go and enjoy your evening. And don't worry, I've got everything under control." and she picks Nicole up from Bea while grabbing the baby bag as well, “We’ll have a lot of fun.”

Bea nodded appreciatively, trusting Shells completely. "We'll make it up to you, Shells," she said, one hand over her heart. "You're a lifesaver."

With Nicole in Shells' capable hands, Rooster and Beatrice made their way back to the Bronco and climbed in. Shells waved her hand - and Nicole’s- as they drove away, their figures getting smaller and smaller as they left.

As they drove to the restaurant,however,the anticipation in the car was palpable, and Rooster couldn't help but glance over at Beatrice, dropping his irises down her body, down that dress. She looked stunning in her elegant dress, and she still had no idea of the power she had over him.

"You know,gorgeous," he said, his voice filled with warmth, "you look even more beautiful tonight."

Beatrice smiled at his compliment, running her hands through her hair. "Flattery will get you everywhere, LC" she replied playfully, reaching over to place a gentle hand on his thigh.

Rooster chuckled at her response, his hand covering hers and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I'm just stating the truth," he said sincerely. "You take my breath away every time."

“Oh,Berlin?”

“It’s a great song.” he smirks, “And it fits.”

As they arrived at the restaurant, they took a while to finally get out. He inhales, looking over at her as she tries to see the Haltons’ car anywhere, “...ready?” and she nods, chewing her lower lip, “Alright, let’s go.”

A valet took their car as soon as they stepped out, and they made their way inside. The hostess greeted them warmly,even tilting her head because ‘she knew them’ “Are you here with company?”

“Yes, the Haltons.” he didn’t seem happy sharing that, “They are the ones who had the reservations ready.”

“Oh,yes, right this way then.” The hostess led them through the upscale restaurant, past tables adorned with elegant diners savoring their meals.A grand piano sat in the corner, and a talented pianist played classical melodies, setting the perfect backdrop for an evening of fine dining.

“That’s new.” Rooster mutters, “Nice piano too.”

Beatrice looks over to where it was as Rooster slides his fingers through hers, never letting her hand go as they follow the hostess,”They did some restoration, that area was closed the last time we got here.” she pointed out, “And they have more fish.”

“That they do.”

As they approached the private dining area where the Haltons were seated, not so different from the seat they took before when they were dating, Rooster and Beatrice couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Clawing up their spines almost.

Mark and Miranda Halton were already seated at a round table covered in crisp white linen. The table was adorned with elegant floral arrangements, and there was a bottle of sake in the center. The couple rose to their feet as Rooster and Beatrice approached, offering polite smiles.

"Rooster, Beatrice," Mark greeted them, his tone courteous. "Thank you for joining us this evening."

Miranda added her own words of welcome. "Yes, it's wonderful to have you both here," she said, her voice sweet but tinged with something Rooster and Beatrice couldn't quite place. Her eyes dropped to Beatrice’s body, “Oh, wow, would you look at that.” she waves her hand, almost jokingly, “You can almost say it’s a designer brand!”

Beatrice parted her lips, “Well it is-” but Rooster gently squeezed her hand and gave her a soft look. One that said ‘let’s not share too much yet’ and she nodded, “Thank you…Miranda. You look great as well.”

She giggles, “Always, dear.” she then turned to the hostess, “You can go now.” the tone made both of them bristle immediately. Bea was quick to add a ‘thank you!’ before the girl was too far away.

Rooster and Beatrice exchanged a brief look before taking their seats. He pulls the chair for her, ignoring the ‘aw,adorable’ from Miranda and leaning down to fix her hair…but in reality he was just whispering something in her ear, “This is going to suck ass.” he says, finally sitting down himself, arm on the back of Bea’s chair protectively, eyes narrowing to the sake bottle in the center.

“Oh this,” Miranda waves her hand as she and Mark sit down as well, “This is just a little something we thought you’d enjoy. It’s very expensive.”

Translation: it’s obvious you two can’t buy it.

Rooster couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "Expensive sake, huh?" he remarked, his tone casual. "That's quite the gesture."

Mark smiled, his eyes glinting with something that Rooster couldn't quite decipher. "We thought you both might appreciate it," he replied, his tone smooth. "It's a rare vintage, one of our favorites."

Beatrice nodded in polite appreciation, hands on her lap "Thank you, that's very kind," she said, her voice measured. “I…we love sake,right Roos?”

“Yeah.” he mutters, “I won’t drink it though,I’m driving tonight.”

“Oh come on,”Mark smirks, “We are friends here,I’m sure Beatrice can drive,can’t you Beatrice?”

Beatrice offered a polite smile, waving her hand a bit. "Oh,ah thank you for the offer, Mark," she replied, "but we've decided that Rooster will be the designated driver tonight. Safety first, you know."

"Yep," he added, "we want to make sure we get home safely."

And if it was up to him, as soon as they could leave.
