Matt Braly Announces "AMPHIBIA: STRANGE VOYAGE" Graphic Novel Series From TOKYO POP And Disney Publishing Worldwide.

The Journey has started! Matt Braly has announced at Barnes & Noble's "AMPHIBIA: STRANGE VOYAGE" a 10-issue mini-series from TOKYOPOP and Disney Books . 🐸🗺️

AMPHIBIA: STRANGE VOYAGE" graphic novel will be written by Matt Braly and will feature the artwork of Fan-Artist Beatrice Bovo.

The novel centers around Sprig and his friends as they embark on an adventure to explore a new continent mentioned in "The Hardest Thing" epilogue.

I love how Anne escaped the trope of being embarrassed of her and her family’s culture. She embraces it, even before Amphibia.

In Episode 1 (Anne Or Beast), Maggie makes fun of her Khao Niaow Bing (sweet Thai sticky rice). Instead of shying away, or even saying she didn’t like it, she does this:

Or, when she helps Stumpy with his diner in Episode 9 (Lily Pad Thai), she wears a traditional Thai dress called a Sinh (which she must have made, by the way)

And in s2e19 (The Dinner) Anne wears yet another traditional Thai dress

I just love how she’s so proud of her family, culture, and traditions

Revamped my design for Hiraeth Sasha Waybright because my style has changed, and so has my mental image of her. Her hair was inspired by the look Violet gives in TWDG because she's somewhat how I see Hiraeth Sasha.

She had this sort of put-together look in the original design that didn't seem to fit the raggedy young woman leading an army vibe I was going for, so she's more... scruffy... now?

Amphibia Graphic Novel Already Being Written At Tokyo Pop and Disney Publishing Worldwide, Novel Is Sprig Centered Story.

Comics Beat Interviewed Matt Braly on the upcoming "THE ART OF AMPHIBIA" book and confirmed that the graphic novel at TOKYO POP and Disney Publishing Worldwide in the same vein as GRAVITY FALLS: LOST LEGENDS is currently in the writing stage.

Braly additionaly confirms that the story of the novel will be centered around Sping Plantar likely hinting that the novel will be set after the events of the series finale.

The interview also showcases artwork from "INTERN-SHIP". The show Braly pitched to Disney before Amphibia but was scrapped due the timing of the release of Walt Disney Animation Studios "Big Hero 6"
