how about raffl/kahun + brötchen? :D
this is set right after the plastiktüte debacle btw, like, same day-ish or a day or two later. also doing this in the other perspective now because why not xD also idk if i have to put a disclaimer for that but the dialogue is just in german now. because ultimately it's about the german/austrian dialect barriers xD
They had sunday off, so Michael made sure to keep their fridge stocked for a good breakfast beforehand. He'd also made sure to get some baked goods because even though nothing beat the smell of freshly baked bread. He set out two snack boards for them and got some cutlery as well. Dominik was still asleep, and probably would continue to stay in the bedroom until Michael eventually managed to drag him out of bed, but that was just fine with him. That way he had the time to make some coffee for both of them and set out some spreads, fresh vegetables and fruit, as well as his pretty bread basket he only ever used when he had company. He turned back to the kitchen counter to wipe them down quickly, just for him to almost get a heart attack when his boyfriend just started speaking from right behind him.
"Morgen. Wenn ich gewusst hätte, dass du Frühstück machst, wär ich vielleicht früher aufgestanden."
Michael just laughed slightly, not believing it for a second.
"Setz dich einfach hin."
They both went to sit at Michael's dining room table, Dominik making appreciative noises about the breakfast spread out in front of them.
It was still pretty early, so Michael consciously put an effort into speaking as dialect free as possible because Dominik didn't want to decipher carinthian dialect at 8am and Michael himself didn't want to repeat his sentences three times either. But sometimes, it just slipped out.
"Kannst du mir bitte ein Semmerl geben?", he asked, pointing to the bread basket on Dominik's side of the table.
His boyfriend just looked at him with a slightly distraught expression.
"Was bitte? Das ist ein Brötchen. Warum habt ihr so viele unglaublich komische Wörter? Erst Sackerl, dann Semmerl? Und warum klingen die so gleich?", he whined, handing him the bread basket nonetheless.
Michael laughed, grabbing the offending item so Dominik could put the basket down again.
"Keine Ahnung. Aber wenn du dich darüber so aufregst, sollte ich dir lieber nicht sagen wie grüne Bohnen bei uns heißen."

5 things you would never ever give away
I’ve thought about this extensively and I don’t think there’s anything really 🥸
I could never live without my phone but other than that I don’t think there’s a single thing that I couldn’t part ways with for some reason (which might be due to me living abroad so many times that I can just pack a suitcase and go live somewhere else and you can’t get to attached to things).
There are things I love dearly that I would have a harder time parting with than others which include:
The warm up puck Dominik Kahun threw me at the game of my favorite teams 🏒🥅
Tumblr media
My pride hockey jersey ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Tumblr media
A copy of rwrb (but I do own the ebook that I can read from anywhere so I don’t actually need a physical book)
Tumblr media
My camera because I wouldn’t be able to take hockey photos without it (not that I’ve taken any lately)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Swarovski bear (the only one I own (my mom has a whole collection)) with my favorite & former jersey number 💙
Tumblr media
I think that’s about it 🤷🏻‍♀️
If I can think of something at some point in the future, I’ll yell 😂

raffl/kahun, tüte :)
Dominik gathered their groceries, refusing to back down when he ran out of pockets to stuff beer cans into. He barely managed to stuff some bell peppers into his hoodie pocket, cursing the entire time, when he noticed his boyfriend standing at the trunk of the car with crossed arms. "You need any help? Unless you want to stuff something down my pants too. Then I'm going to leave you here to fend for yourself."
Dominik opened his mouth, but before he could tell Michael that he'd very much like to put something down his pants, preferably inside his apartment and without groceries involved, he noticed the empty shopping bag half buried under some waste Michael forgot to throw out. Tired of speaking english for convenience, he just switched to German. They were at home now anyways. "Kannst du mir bitte die Einkaufstüte aus dem Kofferraum geben? Ich glaub sonst wird das nichts."
And honestly, not any rivalry could have prepared him for the sheer disgust in Raffs answer.
"Bitte was willst du von mir? Die Plastik-.. Nein. Stop. Oh Gott." He pinched the bridge of his nose and grabbed the plastic bag, holding it up right in front of Dominiks face.
"Das is ein Plastiksackerl. Oder ein Sack meinetwegen. Egal. Aber ich schwörs dir wenn du in meiner Gegenwart noch einmal Tüte sagst werd ich reingehen und dich aus deiner eigenen Wohnung aussperren."
He said the offending word slowly, pronouncing every syllable extra, as if he was speaking to a child. Dominik tried his best to stop the laughter threatening to bubble out of him. "Shit. Okay. Aber kannst du sie mir bitte einfach geben?", he giggled, trying not to crack up further as a clearly disgruntled Michael held the bag open so Dominik could empty his arms and pockets again. When everything was nearly out away, he locked the car and pulled a quietly grumbling Michael to his door, definitely planning to make fun of him later. But really - who the fuck would call a Plastiktüte a Sackerl?

let me start with:
Leon Draisaitl as a 14y.o in a german u16 league was built different
Tumblr media
put up 192 points in 29 games.
so then I went and did a little digging in the Schüler Bundesliga stats from 10/11 because why not
Draisaitl's teammate at the time - Dominik Kahun - put up even more points (although it was predominantly assists, 206 points in 30 games? pretty crazy) - AGAIN - both of them 14-year-olds in a U16 league
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kahun then went undrafted in 2014, and only played 186 NHL games for 34 goals and 83 points after signing from the DEL. In his final NHL year he was reunited with Draisaitl but that didn't lead to any breakout in production either.
Tumblr media
He left North America before the 21/22 season and is currently playing for Bern in the swiss NL:
Tumblr media
And Draisaitl, you know, he's doing pretty well in the NHL.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, I think this is a pretty cool story of how sometimes things do or don't work out for whatever reason.
sorry for going off nothing gets me going more than weird hockey coincidences. Fun fact: Kahun was born in Planá, CZE, as well as Draisaitls dad, Peter, was born in Karviná, CZE(then -choslovakia)
