this is set right after the plastiktüte debacle btw, like, same day-ish or a day or two later. also doing this in the other perspective now because why not xD also idk if i have to put a disclaimer for that but the dialogue is just in german now. because ultimately it's about the german/austrian dialect barriers xD

They had sunday off, so Michael made sure to keep their fridge stocked for a good breakfast beforehand. He'd also made sure to get some baked goods because even though nothing beat the smell of freshly baked bread. He set out two snack boards for them and got some cutlery as well. Dominik was still asleep, and probably would continue to stay in the bedroom until Michael eventually managed to drag him out of bed, but that was just fine with him. That way he had the time to make some coffee for both of them and set out some spreads, fresh vegetables and fruit, as well as his pretty bread basket he only ever used when he had company. He turned back to the kitchen counter to wipe them down quickly, just for him to almost get a heart attack when his boyfriend just started speaking from right behind him.

"Morgen. Wenn ich gewusst hätte, dass du Frühstück machst, wär ich vielleicht früher aufgestanden."

Michael just laughed slightly, not believing it for a second.

"Setz dich einfach hin."

They both went to sit at Michael's dining room table, Dominik making appreciative noises about the breakfast spread out in front of them.

It was still pretty early, so Michael consciously put an effort into speaking as dialect free as possible because Dominik didn't want to decipher carinthian dialect at 8am and Michael himself didn't want to repeat his sentences three times either. But sometimes, it just slipped out.

"Kannst du mir bitte ein Semmerl geben?", he asked, pointing to the bread basket on Dominik's side of the table.

His boyfriend just looked at him with a slightly distraught expression.

"Was bitte? Das ist ein Brötchen. Warum habt ihr so viele unglaublich komische Wörter? Erst Sackerl, dann Semmerl? Und warum klingen die so gleich?", he whined, handing him the bread basket nonetheless.

Michael laughed, grabbing the offending item so Dominik could put the basket down again.

"Keine Ahnung. Aber wenn du dich darüber so aufregst, sollte ich dir lieber nicht sagen wie grüne Bohnen bei uns heißen."

Hello all -- it's New Sims 4 Build Day here on Victor Luvs Alice this Wednesday! And I am showing off a build that I've been working on in some form or another for a good while, and which I'm rather proud of -- my new Ministry Of Joy Nightclub! Which, as you might guess, was inspired by The Smiler roller coaster over in Alton Towers. XD Specifically, this thing started life as an attempt to build what I thought like the Ministry Of Joy would look like in the Valicer In The Dark universe, but ended up morphing into this after I thought it would be fun to make it into a nightclub Sims could visit. Let me take you on a little tour:

-->The exterior of the build is based off the basic shape of the actual The Smiler coaster's station (which was SURPRISINGLY hard to find to find pictures of -- fortunately I found some videos on YouTube of the old The Smiler mobile game that had a virtual recreation of the coaster and its station that I could look at to get an idea of the shape) -- though I did change the color scheme, as the actual building is gray for some reason instead of black. It does have pipes like that on the front though! I went with a fancy Art Deco front door because it had one of the best black-and-yellow color schemes, and of course I had to slap a yellow security camera above it. XD I also put that weird spire thing atop it just because I liked it -- it felt right, is all I can say!

-->The first floor is mostly taken up by a big old dance floor (which I sized up a little bit just so it would properly take up the space), with a bar area near the front of the building; a big five-stall bathroom at the back to the left, behind the stairs to the second level; and a "chill-out" space in the weird extra room attached to the back right corner. As you can see, things are aggressively yellow and black in here. XD Though I did make sure to put some extra color in with various paintings and neon lights and such! Anything that was bold and bright and interesting. :) For a few more specific notes:

A) The area behind the DJ booth is a little dark because I was trying to use lights that wouldn't completely wash out the neon lights on the walls over there -- it's a little brighter when the laser light shows are going in Live Mode!

B) The bathroom is so big because I originally had a little side area in it for a diaper-changing station and a toddler potty, complete with its own sink -- I eventually decided that it wasn't particularly likely you would have such things in a nightclub and got rid of it, which allowed me to fit in two extra stalls. Hey, at least your Sims will never have to wait for a bathroom in this build!

C) The "chill-out" room was originally the "worship" room when I was building this as the home of the Valicer In The Dark Advocates (there was one of those weird twisty modern art statues in there with a bunch of chairs around it to represent Mar-Mal), but after I changed the theme of the place, I decided that I wanted it to play host to a couple of bubble blowers. Because the Advocates seem like bubble blower people. XD I ended up adding incense and a couple of meditation poofs for more things to do in here, and because they fit the vibe of this being a place where Sims can chill if they need to. Also, the yellow stripes in this room are the glowing Spa Day walls, because I really wanted to use them SOMEWHERE, and this seemed like the best place. XD Same with the glowing tiles underneath the statues in the corners of the room.

D) Oh, and almost all the interior lights are sized-down rec center lights from Growing Together because they looked vaguely spiraly. Gotta keep on-brand!

-->Up on the second floor, we have an arcade room and a karaoke room, because I like giving my Sims things to do at community lots and those seemed like fun rooms to have! Though, given the lack of actual arcade machines in unmodded Sims 4, I ended up making the arcade a bit more of a general "games room," with a foosball table and a table games table to fill out the area along with the big games machine and the virtual reality gaming mat. The karaoke room also ended up getting a popcorn maker because I really wanted it to have some snacks available, and popcorn seemed like the best bet.

-->And as for the roof surrounding the second floor...well, I took a look at all that empty space and went "I need to do something with this." So I turned the little "balcony" at the front into a hang-out space with spiral-themed loungers, a drinks tray, and a telescope, scattered some benches and a chess table around the place --

And set up a whole hot tub party area in the back above the chill-out room! Because who doesn't like a cool hot tub party area? Especially one with loungers, another drinks tray, an ice cream machine, and a busking area? Oh, and the most fun outdoor lights on a string that I could find? :p Advocates never do party time by halves, after all!

-->As for lot traits, I went with Party Place (because look at it, this place was made for parties), Convivial (because of course the Advocates would want everyone to feel like they can get along with everyone else), and University Student Hang Out (...because I honestly wasn't sure what else to put on the lot and this way the drinks are cheaper XD).

Saw this prompt for incorrect OC quotes and couldn't resist with a bunch of my Breach goobers. Some of them would absolutely say these things word for word in canon if I gave them half the chance to, though. XD

They're in order of when they showed up in person - Qīng, Ghost, Red, Marisol, Shio, Cam, Daruk, Tawoos, and Alondra - as well as some important honorable mentions who have only been mentioned or gotten dialogue - Star, Blake, and Creation.

Star's design is a slight spoiler, I suppose, but it doesn't reveal if they're human or impostor, so it's all good. Creation's "design" also isn't a spoiler at all, because They can look however They want, LOL. As for Shio...some of you who have seen the body horror I've done of them may be wondering why they look so normal here, but I promise there are Reasons. :3c

In other news, will I be making a liar out of Shio in an upcoming Breach canon divergence? ..........Maybe~ >:3c

I am a nervous wreck bundled up in human skin, stumbling along in hell this thing called life, thanks for asking! lol

My brain has not been cooperative with writing recently, sadly. It's barely been cooperative for reading. I think finishing edits on Shattered Dreams kicked my butt and burned me out a bit, tbh.

Follow that up with holidays and birthdays (they all fall around the holidays in my family 😭) and I completely burned out. And then I'm starting a new job in a couple weeks and I'm super nervous about that and how it will change my current routine and *splat*

Anyways, I've been burying my worries in video games 😅

Writing wise, I did manage to squeak out a couple new chapters for Hidden Depths, which I'm waiting to post until I squeak out a couple more, bc I'd really like to have the promise of getting out of the bandit camp as an apology for taking so fucking long between updates 🥺

ALTERNATIVELY - and you'll have to forgive me for bringing in something a little toxic/cursed here, but this is where my brain is at lately, i'm afraid - this lyric is still charles POV, but he thinks it about max. after a break-up with max (and, spoiler alert... he DID dodge a bullet with that one.) but it was a good dodge, because guess who is there to pick up the pieces and treat him a thousand times better than max ever could... 😉 pierre, of course. and THEY never break up - no, they have a "call it what you want" inspired romance <3333

So once she was done with her lunch, I had her enhance her sense of smell and go out scavenging. This unfortunately didn’t yield anything, so I decided to have to go check out the community garden area nearby (it is – nearer to that one barbecue surrounded by herbalism potions than I first thought) and had her tunnel over there –

And THAT put her over the edge! :D Delighted, I paused a moment to consider my options (and also have a snack in the real world) – and while “Pack Howl” and “Lunar Howl” were both tempting, I went with “Hunting Party” so Alice could lead a group hunt with Victor and Smiler at some point. Because the family that hunts together… XD With that sorted, I had her look over the plants in the planters (nothing to harvest that they didn’t already have, though Alice was able to evolve some of the mushrooms), then check out the nearby sign for details about the next Finchwick Fair. I was thus informed that it was the Oversized Crop Fair on Saturday, with submissions of crops and pies both allowed –

And then I went – “hey. Today’s Saturday. And Victor totally has some oversized crops still hanging around in the fridge. I think we even have a pie. We should go!”

-->And so, with about two and a half hours to go, I started prepping the gang for the trip to the Fair! Smiler was fine – they’d had a nice flirt with Victor over his lunch, then drunk the last bottle of Fizzy Plasma in the fridge to control their thirst, so I had them fix the kitchen sink (which had broken after Victor had washed his dishes) before sending them to make more mechanisms. Victor, for his part, cleaned the chicken coop, then used his magic to clean up the puddle in front of the sink and repair another broken wind turbine – which just so happened to push HIM over the edge into getting another talent point! :D I considered my options, and eventually picked “Master Duelist” – I would like him to complete the Spellcraft & Sorcery aspiration at some point, and that means winning more duels, so – might as well give him the edge! I then gave him an oversized watermelon to submit (since, you know, summer) and had him make a nice chocolate pie with the dough in the fridge (since the blueberry pie in there was close to going off) – this got him up to Cooking level 8, so now he can make apple pies! Yaaay~

-->And while all that was happening, Alice had herself a little baby RAMPAGE! Because at that point it was easier to knock her over the edge of Fury rather than trying to cool it down. After a few howls and stomping around the world ferociously (though I made sure to keep her in a little secluded area of the fields, away from any wandering NPCs), she gave in to her inner beast –

And, as usual, simply scavenged a bit before I had her regain control. XD Her wolf instincts were demanding a nap, however, so I had her curl up on the ground for a little snooze while Smiler finished their second mechanism and Victor started the laundry…

"So did she… but you know our Mari." The Kwami responded from her spot on Luka's shoulder. "She's way too in over her head when it comes to the Agreste." She said bitterly, as she wasn’t really fond of the blonde. Honestly, what did her holder even see in him?

Tikki knew how much Mari always stressed to make things perfect between them. Her crush on Adrien had always been so unhealthy, unlike the one she had on Luka.

"Remind me again why you let her go."

"You know why, Tikki… I could never make her that happy." He sighed. "Everyone knows Adrien is the one."

"You're an idiot if you think he's good enough for her. Honestly, did you hit your head somewhere? Because I don't get it."

"I don't like it anymore than you do, but we gave it a fair shot."

"No, you didn't! Marinette was scared, and you didn't know her identity then… so there was a reason for that break-up, but now? Now you know and that's no longer an obstacle in your way!" Tikki practically screamed, annoyed with the guitarist. She wanted her holder's happiness, and deep down she knew Marinette was going after the wrong guy. "So stop being stupid, and get her back! Because I am tired of hearing her freak out about Adrien time and time again."
