Anaesthesia | Neil Melendez | The Good Doctor
Tumblr media
Doctors, especially surgeons, know the side effects of surgeries like the back of their hands; they have too. The effects of anaesthesia are also commonly known, however they are not usually witnessed or enjoyed by the operating surgeon or anyone on their surgical staff. They tended to check in with the patient thoroughly after the majority of the medication had worn off and had been replaced with morphine.
It had been a while since Neil had experienced it first hand, it was something he swore to himself that he would change. In the beginning he had been worried when (y/n) had to go in for emergency surgery, their appendix had burst. Now, he couldn't help himself from giggling at them whilst encouraging their drug induced antics.
"You're really pretty, you know that right?" They slurred, trying to maintain eye contact with him.
Neil smiled. "Thank you, Dr. (l/n)."
"It is very, very, very, important to me that you know that." They watched as he just laughed alongside them as they continued their rambling. "I don't feel normal."
His smiled dropped.
"`What doesn't feel normal; what's wrong?"
(y/n) pondered his question for a moment, letting the silence thickly drag in the air. They didn't understand the gravity of their declaration and the million thoughts that were rushing through Neil's head. What if the surgery had gone wrong? What if they were experiencing complications and they had to go back under? What if they-?
"I know what it is."
Melendez looked up expectantly.
"I'm cold, I need cuddles."
"Cuddles?" he ask incredulously. (y/n) just nodded their head as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. At this, his worried seem to vanish in a flash and he moved so he could position himself at (y/n)'s side. "Well, who am I do deny a patient."

Welcome! I am searching for a medical / The Good Doctor /Dr. House roleplay!
I am back into the phase of medical movies and series. This means that I am searching for some medical roleplay!
I am searching for either some oc x oc, cc x oc. I have a few ideas, mostly platonic ones.
I search for an 18+ roleplay partner who writes 1500-2000 words per reply. (when I get inspirated... I can write even more.)
I am open to original characters in an original world and setting. But I am also searching for some double ups from canon worlds. The Good Doctor is my favourite. Dr. House is right after it! So just ask and I am sure we can come up with some shipping together.
I am open to doubling up and platonic or romantic relationship in the roleplay.
Pm me if you are interested!

Melendez x reader - a chance
Tumblr media
Could I get a Dr. Melendez x reader? The reader is shy, quiet, short, and chubby and she is shocked when he asks her out. She is his age and is a nurse. - Anon💜
Standing next to the desk, you crouched down, smiling at the little girl who has run over to you.
“My mommy wants ice chips, can I have ice chips?” She asked.
“Absolutely, you can both have some.”
The girl grinned from ear to ear and followed you to get the two cups, and you walked her back to her moms room, smiling at the woman.
“I’m sorry, I told her not to ask.”
“You don’t have to worry, it’s what it’s there for, and we’ve got more than enough to share. Do you need anything else?”
The woman shook her head and you smiled as you left her room, heading back to the nurses station.
Humming to yourself, you began to wonder in and out of every room to make sure that everybody was doing okay before writing it all in their files.
“Alright, I’m done, I’m going home.”
“See you later (Y/N).” The other nurse smiled.
Smiling back, you headed to grab you things before making your way towards the stairs.
You looked at the time and sighed to yourself, you were hungry, but you were also tired and didn’t know what you wanted to do first.
If you napped, you could eat later, but you thought maybe eating first would be the best idea.
While you were walking down the stairs, you heard someone fall in line with you and you snapped out of your head, looking towards the side.
“Oh Doctor Melendez, is everything alright? Do you need something?” You asked.
“I just saw you leaving and thought I’d walk out with you if that’s alright?” He asked.
You nodded your head and turned away from him.
“Thank you for doing the rounds on my patients before going, I’d still be here if it weren’t for that.” He chuckled a little.
“You were supposed to go home hours ago, I thought it would help speed up the process after your meeting.”
“Well, it’s much appreciated. Thank you.”
You smiled at him.
Generally doctors didn’t do much with nurses, or interact with them.
In a way Melendez was the same, but you were usually in all of his surgeries, and generally on the same shifts as him so he soon became a familiar face.
Though it wasn’t often that the pair of you talked, not unless it was about work.
Stepping outside, you looked at your phone before walking over stepping to the side of the door, trying to stay out of the rain.
“You aren’t heading home?” Melendez asked.
“Waiting for the bus.”
He looked around before looking at you.
“I can give you a lift if you want, it’s no trouble.”
“I’ll be alright, thanks though.”
He nodded his head and began to leave, offering you once again a lift which you declined.
You did notice a few over the following few weeks how he would talk to you more often, walk you out of the building and sometimes wait for your bus with you.
You didn’t think much about it, you put it down to him needed to get to know his surgical team more, or maybe he was trying to interact with people more.
You weren’t sure.
But you didn’t mind chatting with him, sometimes you would even see him at the bar after work, or the pair of you would walk there together.
So, when you were having lunch you didn’t think twice about him coming over to sit with you.
Smiling you moved your things aside so he could sit in front of you.
“Doctor Melendez.” You greeted.
“You can call me Neil, or just Melendez.” He laughed.
“I know.”
He smiled at you, taking a sip from his coffee.
You went back to eating, the pair of you holding a small conversation as you did.
“Can I ask you something?” He asked.
“You just did.”
You smiled at him as he chuckled.
“Of course you can. What’s up?”
“Would you be open to possibly going on a date with me?”
You nearly dropped your cup, and you quickly set it down as you stared at him in shock.
“I’m sorry?”
“Would you go on a date with me? Maybe dinner? It a few drinks? A movie?”
You took a small breath to compose yourself.
“I… you.. you’re asking me on a date..?”
Melendez smiled softly at you.
“I am.”
“Why?”
He laughed gently.
“Because I think you’re interesting, and beautiful, and smart, and I want to get to know you better.”
You slowly nodded your head, and you stood up from the table.
“I have to go..”
With that you rushed away.
You knew he wouldn’t bring it up while you were both on shift, but during any breaks or when you weren’t all that busy you did everything you could to avoid him.
So when it came for you last break of the day, you decided to head up to the roof to watch the nightlife of the city.
It was peaceful, and gave you time to think.
You heard steps coming closer and you turned around, sighing heavily as you watched the man walk over to you.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have sprung that on you. I shouldn’t have said anything at all, I understand.”
“No.. you don’t have to be sorry..”
You sighed, resting your arms on the rail.
“It’s not.. I mean I’m flattered you asked, I really am..”
“If you’re not interested that’s alright, you don’t have to explain yourself to me. I just hope we can stay friends.”
You looked at him.
“I.. I am interested, believe me I am.”
Melendez furrowed his brows a little bit, and he turned to fully face you.
“You are?”
“Yes. I just.. it’s.. I don’t think it’s a good idea…”
“Can I ask why?”
“You’re you.. and I.. I’m me..”
He rose a brow and you looked away from him, burying your nose into your jacket.
“You’re athletic, and incredibly good looking and successful. I’m me, anything but that, and I can’t even afford a car.”
“I don’t care you can’t afford a car, or that I’m a doctor and you’re a nurse. I think you’re beautiful the way you are, and I would love for the chance to show you that.”
You didn’t reply and he sighed a little, coming over he stood next to you, looking at you.
“You’re the most kind and understanding person k have ever met. I watched you listen to a patient just out of surgery explain to you hundreds of times how they broke their arm and you listened just as enthusiastically as the last time.”
You smiled at the memory.
“He was so high.” You laughed.
“He was.” Melendez chuckled.
You turned to look at him, and he smiled softly, placing his hand on the side of your face.
“I just want the chance to show you how incredible you are, and I’d you don’t want that, it’s alright.”
You sighed a little, and you looked at him.
You had always debated asking him out, but you were always so scared too.
But you looked as the city lights reflected in eyes, and how he smiled so softly at you, and it made your heart skip a beat, made you feel butterflies in your stomach.
“How about dinner?” You asked.
Melendez smiled even more.
“It’s a date, we’ll go after this shift.”
He leant down and kissed your head before he rushed away before anyone started to look for him.
Smiling to yourself, you turned back to watching the city

Warnings: period talk
Summary: You're on your period and Neil offers you a little comfort when he sees you're having a bad day.
Words: 2.2k
Pairing: Neil Melendez x Doctor!reader
A/N: It's ridiculous how much time I wasted searching for a gif and still ending up unsatisfied. But for some reason when I search for gifs on tumblr for my writing I just get reaction memes these days. It's so annoying! Anyway, this was requested. I hope you like it and it's the way you imagined :) I really want to write more again, because it felt so good to just sit down and start typing, but life is so busy at the moment and both my physical and mental health aren't so great too! Hopefully it will all get better soon :)
Tumblr media
You should have known it would be ‘one of those days’ when you walked into work with a belly ache, but you didn’t think much of it, hoping if you just ignored it the pain would eventually go away.
Only it didn’t. Instead it got worse, spreading into your lower back and making it hard to keep standing. All you wanted to do was sit or lie down and not move anymore, perhaps even curl over until the pain faded.
But you were on shift, the ER was buzzing and the hospital was understaffed. Sighing you grabbed the next patient’s file, scanning it quickly as you made your way over to where he was seated. Too late you realized someone was crossing your way and you bumped right into them, startling at the unexpected contact.
“Sorry!” You took a step back and glanced up at the man dressed in the blue scrubs, relieved but also a little nervous to find it was Neil Melendez. The two of you got along well, so well that it made you hope he would eventually ask you out.
But he hadn’t yet and you didn’t have the heart to do it yourself, fearing the humiliation of a rejection since you would have to keep working together.
Neil teased you and he flirted with you, but that didn’t have to mean anything. He was naturally charming. Still you hoped for the moment to come, your heart always losing its steady rhythm for a second when you laid eyes on him.
“It’s nothing.” He smiled at you and you tried to reciprocate it, but a sharp pain in your belly made your face twist in pain instead. “Well, I should get going”, you said once the pain had ebbed a little, but you didn’t make it far as Neil held you back by your elbow.
“You okay?” His brows were knitted and he watched you with a frown, his eyes darting over your face before he locked eyes with you again. You drew in a breath, tensing a little at the proximity and trying to ignore your galloping heart.
“Yeah, I’m fine”, you brushed it off, this time managing a smile. You saw Neil slightly narrow his eyes at you, but before he could say anything else you offered him a nod and hurried away.
-
You had never looked so much forward to your break, the imagination of finally sitting down and eating a meal keeping you going for the rest of the morning. But just as you handed over your last patient’s file, planning to head to the cafeteria, a voice called you back.
It was Dr. Lim. She was marching over to you and you could tell from her face she wanted something from you.
Not now.
“What is it?”, you asked, once she came to stand beside you, not hiding your frustration. The other doctor looked at you surprised, before holding an iPad out to you. “The imaging and report from Mr. Wellington’s CT just came in.”
You let your eyes flicker over it, not finding anything worth this fuss. “And?”, you asked, sounding as impatient as you felt to get held back. “That’s what I thought too”, Audrey continued unbothered, “but then I found this.” She used her fingers to zoom in on it.
“See this shadow?”
You squinted your eyes. “Could be anything.” “Right, but it looks like a small tumour. I already ran a biopsy. The results should be in soon.”
You glanced up at her, waiting for her to come to the point. When she didn’t say more you sighed. “So? Why are you showing me this?”
“Okay-“, Audrey snapped the iPad’ case shut, handing it over to the nurse’s desk, “Someone’s in a mood today!”
You winced under her glare, regretting how harsh you had sounded. It wasn’t her fault you were having a bad day and she didn’t deserve your attitude. “Sorry.”
You closed your eyes and took a deep inhale, trying to push away your annoyance. You really didn’t want to argue with Audrey today. Especially not over something stupid like this.
“It’s just-” You opened your eyes again, gesturing at the busy ER. “-My back is killing me and I have the worst cramps and I just want to lay down and suffer in silence.”
You let out a chuckle at your dramatic words and the way they came out as if they had been at the tip of your tongue only waiting to slip out, which probably wasn’t far from the truth, and Audrey offered you a sympathetic smile. “That time of the month?”
You nodded, surprised that you didn’t feel embarrassed to talk about it with her. Audrey always seemed so strong and unbothered and you couldn’t imagine her whining over a stupid period. But she seemed to know exactly what you were talking about.
“The mood swings are the worst for me. You might know I’m not the most patient person out there-”, you grinned, thinking of the many incidents she had proven what a short temper she coud have, “but during that time? You really don’t want to pick a fight with me then!”
You laughed. It was just too easy to imagine. “I bet Melendez and Andrews have made that mistake.” Audrey’s face lit up. “Oh, trust me they have!” She shook her head, smiling. “And they learn from it.”
“As they should”, you nodded, “at least they don’t have to attempt 12-hour shifts while it feels like their insides get twisted inside-out.”
Audrey laid her hand on your lower arm, squeezing lightly. “Ibuprofen’s your best friend. And if you ever need to take a break and lay down just tell me.”
You felt a lump forming in your throat and you had to will back your tears. Damn hormones! “Thank you.” You hoped she could hear how sincere you were, the thought of having an escape providing you with relief strong enough to give you a little energy back.
“We women have to stick together.” Audrey squeezed your arm again, before retreating and you looked after her for a moment, grateful to have a friend in her.
-
When you had finally made it to the cafeteria, your pager had gone off right as it had been your turn to order. “You can’t be serious”, you muttered as you pulled it out and read it. “Hey, are you going to order or what?”, you heard someone ask behind you, but without another word you took off, praying you would make it to your patient in time.
Luckily you had. But afterwards you had been pulled right into another case and before you knew it, it had grown dark outside and your stomach was growling at you.
The cafeteria was long closed and so you got a chocolate bar from the vending machine, promising yourself to get real food once you were off the clock.
The ER had quietened down as it often did at the end of your shift and since you had never taken your break you allowed yourself a moment to take a breath in the resident’s lounge.
Although you weren’t a resident anymore you still liked to come here. Perhaps it was the closeness to Neil’s office or the quiet it provided at the end of the day when the residents had all gone home. There was no one who could tell you off as you curled up on the sofa.
The chocolate tasted heavily in your mouth and you devoured it until the last crumb. “You look like you just fell in love.”
“Huh?” You glanced up, to find Neil at the door, casually entering the room and coming to stand in front of you.
He gestured towards the wrapper you had placed on the table. “The chocolate.”
Oh. You let out a chuckle as you realized you had stared at it longingly while you had contemplated whether it was reasonable to get up and get another one or if it wasn’t worth the effort it would take to search for a vending machine.
“That was probably the best chocolate I’ve ever had”, you declared and Neil chuckled. “Your standards are very low then.” You tried to look offended but failed. “Don’t speak ill of the vending machines. They are real life savers. And it’s been a tough day.”
You said it lightly, but you saw Neil’s jaw twitch at the last part. “What happened?”
He walked over to where you were sitting and you shuffled to the side to make space for him. He leaned against the armrest, his body angled towards yours. “Nothing I-”
But suddenly tears were clouding your eyes as all the emotions you had bottled up threatened to spill over. “Damn it!” You wiped at your eyes before the tears could spill, feeling your cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
You didn’t need to look at Neil’s face to see the worry on it.
“Sorry”, you let out an embarrassed chuckle and Neil smiled at you softly. “I’m usually not this emotional. It’s been a long day that’s all.”
“You have had longer ones and didn’t bat an eye.” It wasn’t an accusation, only genuine confusion on Neil’s part and your heart swelled at the hidden compliment and how much he cared to understand you.
“Yeah”, you muttered, closing your eyes as another cramp hit you. When you opened them again you hoped your face hadn’t betrayed you and given away your discomfort, but the disadvantage at working so closely together was that Neil could read you by now.
Before he could make any wild guesses, you decided to just tell him the truth.
You didn’t have to be embarrassed about it, shouldn’t feel that way, yet it was easier said than done. You didn’t want him to think you couldn’t take the hardships of the job, that you were weak or dramatic. But even as you thought it you knew Neil would never think that of you.
Or anyone.
He wasn’t like that, wasn’t intimidated by strong willed women or the reality of what it was like to be one.
Taking a long inhale and an even longer exhale you looked up at him. “I got my period this morning and I’ve been in pain all day.” Now that you had gotten the words out you suddenly had the urge to let it all out.
“And my back is like- so bad. But the cramps are the worst. And I snapped at Audrey. And then again at Glassman. And I almost bawled my eyes out when my patient made it out of surgery and his wife came to see him. And this-”, you gestured at yourself, “is the first break I have gotten all day and I don’t think I’m ever gonna stand up again.”
You stared at Neil in shock for a moment as you realized what had just happened, but then you let out a laugh. “Wow and that just came out like one long sentence!”
Neil chuckled in amusement. “That seems like a really crappy day”, he agreed and you nodded in relief that he seemed to take it serious. “Right? I mean, there are worse things, obviously, but still-” You clutched your belly again, letting out a hiss of pain.
When you looked back up Neil had shifted closer to you, his frown back in place. “Why didn’t you call in sick?”
“Really?” You shook your head, amused and a little frustrated. “I can’t just call in sick every month.”
“It’s this bad every month?”
You nodded. “Most of the time, yeah. Sometimes it’s better, other’s it’s worse. But that’s just how it is.”
Neil face twisted, clearly displeased with what you had said or the situation, perhaps both. “It shouldn’t be like that”, he said then and you looked at him for a moment, taking in his sincerity. “I mean, yeah”, you agreed after a moment. “What, you want to change the whole system now?”
Neil’s mouth curled up in the hint of a smile. “Not tonight, no. I have better plans.”
Your face fell a little as you felt a hint of disappointment at his words. Maybe he was just hanging out with friends or visiting his sister you tried to reason. But the thought of him having plans with another woman gnawed at you.
“Really? What could be better than that?”, you asked teasingly and he tipped his head towards you. “Someone needs to show you what real chocolate tastes like.”
Oh. Your hope arose so strongly you almost forgot to breathe for a moment. “And my sofa is even more comfortable than this one.” He patted the couch you were seated on, not breaking eye contact once.
You still looked at him in shock, unable to form words as you processed his. “You’re baiting me with chocolate?”, you asked once the shock had faded a little, cautious not to put too much weight into his words and Neil grinned. “I do give great massages too. I cook. And I have a big movie collection to distract you from, you know, the pain and all that.”
You smiled widely at him. “Now that wins me over”, you stated, although the thought of spending time alone with Neil was already enough. But it didn’t make his promises less appealing. And it made you feel warm inside to know how much he cared and that he had put so much thought into what he could do to make you feel better.
“Great.” He stood up. “So it’s a date?” For the first time he sounded nervous and it made your heart flutter to know it was because of you. That this, whatever it was between you, mattered to him too.
“It’s a date.”

The Alternative For Coffee
Dr. Melendez and Dr. Browne just finished a 12-hour surgery. Neil is utterly exhausted, and the break room coffee just isn't sufficiant. But Claire has another way to wake him up...is it unprofessional? Maybe. But does that matter? Who cares!
So...This one was really hard to write. Part of the reason I took such a long break, was because this fanfic was really hard to write. I had to constantly take breaks from writing this fanfic alone. So...I think I'm gonna temporarily close The Good Doctor fandom on my Tumblr.
Despite that though, this fanfic was suggested by an anonymous user. Thanks for the prompt, and I hope you enjoy.
“You got it clamped?” The cardiac surgeon asked his surgical resident.
“Yup, I got it.” The surgical resident replied.
“Keep it steady. I’m gonna stitch it closed.” He told his resident. “Sutures?” He reached his hand out, closing his hand the moment he felt the tweezers in his hand. He adjusted his hand and brought the curved needle up to the muscle. He made sure to keep his hands light, but firm. If he didn’t, then he may rip the muscle as he’s suturing it.
The surgical resident watched her mentor very carefully. His movements were so clean and careful, it was always admirable. She’s seen it over a million times and yet…she can’t help but watch her boss with awe.
“Almost done here.” the cardiac surgeon said, forcing the resident to get back into the zone. She looked down and unclamped the muscle.
“Alright. Dr. Browne, clamp-”
“Way ahead of you.” She clamped the skin with the clamps.
The surgeon smiled under his mask. “Good to know.” The surgeon started to suture the layers of skin together with the absorbable sutures. When that was done, the surgeon gave the tweezers to the nurse. “Gauze?” He said, offering his hand. When he felt the wrap in his hand, he carefully placed it over top of the sutures. “Second gauze.” He called. He repeated his last step, making sure the entire suture and surrounding skin was covered up. “Alright. And tape.” He said next, taking the medical tape from the nurse and taping the gauze down nice and securely. “Alright. Take the patient to the ICU. Well done, everyone.” He told the team.
With the help of a nurse, Dr. Neil Melendez and his surgical residents were able to get their surgical covers off. The surgical gloves were removed as he headed into the wash station. Pushing a mountain of soap onto his hands, Neil covered the skin from his fingers to his elbows in a huge layer of medical soap. He was always adamant about making sure he was completely scrubbed up after surgery, just to make sure absolutely nothing leaked onto him during the surgery. Once he finished scrubbing, Dr. Melendez rinsed off every last drop of soap from his arms.
With his hands and arms now clean, Neil changed into a brand new pair of scrubs and made himself over to the break room to eat his lunch. Though he had felt quite awake during the surgery, he had to admit…The constant focus to be delicate and accurate during an entire 12 hour operation, was starting to really physically drain him from the inside out. While beforehand he used to run on a mix of adrenaline and coffee, his body just refused to cooperate with him. So this time, Neil was only running on already-digested coffee during this operation.
Neil put his lunch bag down on the table. He pulled out his container holding his sandwich, and drank a few gulps from his water bottle. He put the lid back onto the bottle before leaning back with a sigh.
Though it looked like Neil was staring at his sandwich, the cardiac surgeon was actually zoning out a little bit. It had been the first time in over 10 hours he had been able to rest, and the evidence that he needed one, could not have been more clear.
“You look tired…” Someone said behind him, as a chair on his right was pulled out from the table.
“Yeah…I am.” Neil admitted. “I’m not able to handle the 12 hour surgeries as well as I used to.” Neil admitted.
“I get that…” Claire muttered. She pulled out her food and started to eat as well. “What are you having?” She asked, taking a bite of her salad.
“Just a ham sandwich I whipped up in 5 minutes.” He admitted.
“Nice. I’m having a chicken caesar salad.” She told him.
Neil took another bite and put it down. “Mhm…” He sat back. “I need a nap…” He muttered.
“In need of a coffee?” She asked.
“Yeah…but the coffee here kinda sucks.” He admitted.
“Can’t you drown it in sugar and cream?” Claire asked.
“Yeah…I guess.” He muttered.
“It’s better than nothing.” She mentioned.
Neil sighed and chuckled. “True.” He said, rubbing his eyes with a smile. “But I feel like I won’t get any of the caffeine if I drown the coffee in cream and sugar.” He admitted.
“Mm…True.” Claire muttered, swallowing her food. “Maybe you just need a different kind of pick-me-up?” She asked.
Neil smiled slightly. “Oh yeah? Like what?” He asked.
“I don’t know…Something better than coffee?” She suggested.
Neil raised an eyebrow. “I don’t follow.” He admitted. Claire’s growing smile only doubled his confusion. “What could possibly wake me up more than a coffee?!” He asked her.
Claire looked away with a toothy smile. “Hehehe- Ihi don’t know.” She mumbled.
Neil raised an eyebrow. “What were you thinking of?” Neil asked.
Claire bit her lip to try and lessen her smile.
“Claire, I can see your face. You’re not exactly good at keeping a poker face.” Neil reminded her.
Claire snickered as quietly as she could before shoving more salad into her mouth.
“Oh, so now you’re gonna ignore me?” Neil asked next, smirking slightly.
Claire covering her mouth in an attempt to cover up her full mouth while she laughed.
“Come on, Claire…” Neil sighed with a chuckle. “I’ve got zero energy right now.” He whined slightly with a small smile.
Claire giggled. “Then it looks like you’ll never get your answer, Melendez.” Claire teased, poking his chest.
Neil narrowed his eyes at her. “Oh really?” He smirked and got up. “Is that so?” He poked her shoulder. “You wanna test that?”
Claire laughed and poked him back. “I prefer the phrase ‘press your buttons’.” She declared.
Neil poked her shoulder a few times. “Oh, you wanna press people’s buttons?” He poked her arm and poked her elbow before continuing: “Okay, I’ll play your little games.”
Claire backed up a few steps, and readied both her index fingers for poking. “Ready when you are, Melendez.” She declared.
And the poke fight was off. They ran around the room, trying to chase each other down while also trying to dodge each other’s pokes. It was a constant strange mental fight between going in for the kill, or running away to stop their opponent from poking them. From an outward perspective, it was really hard to tell if they were trying to run away from each other, or get closer to each other so they could roughhouse.
Neil eventually slid into one of the sliding chairs by accident, knocking the chair onto the ground and nearly falling onto his face himself. “Dammit!” He yelled in annoyance as he picked up the chair.
“Are you okay?” Claire asked him, offering him a hand. “Yeah…Yeah, I’m fine.” He replied, waving his hand to reassure her.
Claire smiled a little bit and poked his side. “I win.” She declared.
“Ah-!” Neil jumped and grunted, grabbing his side.
Claire raised an eyebrow. “Ticklish?” She asked him.
“Me? No. Why?” He asked, looking at Claire with confusion mixed with slight worry.
“Oh, no reason…” Claire giggled as she struggled to contain herself.
“Claire, don’t you even think about it.” He warned, putting up his hands in defense.
“Don’t think about what?” She asked with a smug little grin.
Neil wasn’t used to seeing Claire so…playful. “Th-That’s a trick question.” He said out loud.
“Is it?” Claire teased, wiggling her fingers.
Neil widened his eyes and froze slightly, now unsure what to do with his hands. This gave Claire just enough time to engulf him in pokes against his sides, abdomen and ribs. “NoNO-GAHaha!” Neil doubled over, trying to grab her hands. But trying to grab her hands was extremely difficult due to how fast she was compared to him. It also didn’t help how twitchy and jumpy he had gotten from the tickles alone. It was so unfair…and yet, he didn’t feel mad at her. He was more impressed than anything. “C-CLAHAIRE DOHOHON’T!” Neil pleaded.
“Come on, Neil! Is it really that bad?” She asked him.
“YEHEHES!” He yelled back.
“Oooh, well that’s a damn shame.” She teased before changing her pokes to skitters.
Neil’s body overtook him as a wheeze flew out of his mouth. He had hung his head in an attempt to try and hide his smile. “Nofahair! Nohotfair!” Neil tried to argue.
“Am I going too far?” Claire asked, her voice switching to a more genuinely worried tone.
Neil nodded his head a little bit as he grabbed Claire’s hands.
Seeing the signals, Claire removed her hands and reached for the office chair that was still nearby. “There.” Claire placed the chair against his backside, and made sure Neil didn’t fall while trying to get himself on. “You okay?” She asked.
“That was…Very unprofessional.” Neil told her.
Claire bit her lip and fixed her hair, not entirely sure what to say. “I-”
“However…” Neil put his pointing finger up. “I won’t hold it against you. It was a little justified.” He told her.
Claire wasn’t sure if she should be relieved, or more worried. He was being considerate considering the nature of her actions…but this also meant he was favoring her over the other residents. And…she didn’t know how she felt about that. Only one question kept going through her mind: “Are you sure it’s okay?” She asked.
Neil nodded his head. “I’m just as guilty as you were.” Neil told her.
Claire was taken aback a little bit. Dr. Melendez? Guilty as well? “What do you mean?” She asked for clarification.
Neil chuckled. “Well…” He sat himself up with an awkward smile. “I didn’t exactly stop you, did I?” He reminded her.
Claire hummed and smiled a bit too. “A little bit, but-”
“Dr. Browne-” He waved to her. “It’s okay. As long as we keep it quiet, it shouldn’t matter.” He told her.
Claire nodded her head and looked towards the table. “Your sandwich is on the table.” She told him.
“Right…” He wheeled the chair over and went back to eating his sandwich. Claire sat herself at the same spot where her salad was still sitting.
Neil and Claire resumed eating in almost complete silence. Though the tension was almost unbearable, they both didn’t really have anything else to say. So they remained sitting in silence. The only sound that was heard in that room was the crunchy chewing of the salad, mixed with the constant beeping of the heart beat monitors and the occasional ‘Code yellow’ calls.
Soon, her fork began to touch nothing but plastic. Looking down, she quickly noticed that her container was empty. So, she put the lid onto the container and put it back into her lunch bag. She sighed and sat back, unsure what to do now. She could feel her eyes getting droopy…
*Poke*
“HoLY-?!” Claire sat up with a big gasp. Who did that?! She looked over to Neil, expecting him to still be eating. But to her shock, Neil was covering up his own mouth, trying not to laugh.
Claire narrowed her eyes. “What are you laughing at?” She asked with a little crooked smirk.
“Nothing…” Neil smirked. “Just your reaction.” He added with a snicker.
“My reaction?” Claire asked.
“Nooo, your stern face…” Neil said somewhat playfully.
Claire threw several pokes back to him. “If you think I’m so funny, why aren’t you laughing?” She asked.
“What- aH-! Yes I WAs!” He jumped and snorted, trying to cover up his side. “eeEEK!” Neil shrieked the moment he felt her wiggling little finger in his armpit.
“What was that?!” She busted out with laughter. She grabbed his arm, held it out beside him and tickled his armpit more. “I could never have predicted that you squeal when you laugh!” She reacted.
“NOHahaha! S-Stahahap! Thisisn’tfahahahair!” He shook his head as he tried to pull his hand free.
Claire was smirking rather menacingly as she shoved her fingers deeper into his armpit. “Not so powerful now, huh?” Claire teased.
Neil had only managed to pull his hand back part way before he guffawed and bursted out cackling. “SHUHUT UHUHUP!” He slid himself further down his chair. He was attempting to escape from her grasp by pushing himself under the table. Just seeing his head and his upper arm visible from above the table, was more than enough to make Claire burst out laughing. She had to let go of his hand so she could cover her mouth while she laughed.
Meanwhile, Neil had slid himself down the rest of the way before crawling himself out from under the table. He took one look at his watch, and looked back at Claire with a smile. “Almost time to go.” He told her.
Claire took a moment to calm herself down. “Ohokay…okay.” She took in a deep breath and let it out.
Neil chuckled and poked her side. “Was it worth it?” Neil asked her.
Claire jumped and looked at Neil, before rolling her eyes with a giggle. “Definitely.”
Neil and Claire picked up their bags. “Not a word, alright?” Neil warned.
Claire smiled and moved her fingers against her own lips to reassure him: ‘My lips are sealed’.

Please this is my first ever imagine, be kind. Also my English it’s not perfect, my second language, but I’m trying. Thank you!
Finding love when you’re not expecting
You worked in the management department of the hospital, you never talk with a lot of people, especially men. You got two girls in you office to be friends with and it was enough, you search for a job a long time and it’s good to finally be at peace with one.
The thing is, nothing can be good for to long and you got a crush on someone you couldn’t even get to talk to, that would be dr. Neil Melendez. He was so charismatic, handsome, nice and fun, but not for you. You were not a doctor, not even a nurse so you could not be around him as much as you would like to. But still you would look at him, without anyone noticing, at lunch were he would stay with his residents and laugh, you loved his laugh, it was so contagious.
Today was a good day, you felt good about you, you’re outfit and you’re hair, something very rare for you, but maybe the people you surround with are doing good. When you walk in the hospital you saw him, just getting in, handsome as always and he was actually keeping the elevator door for you, that’s really lucky, especially when it’s your good day.
- “Hi, I’m Neil.” His eyes were so beautiful and his smile, you could have fainted right away.
- “Hello, dr. Melendez, I’m Y/N.” If it wouldn’t be that wall of the elevator, you would be down. You try to keep your cool, it’s just a man and it’s nothing to be worried about. You’re amazing and also waiting for this chance since your got hired 5 month ago.
-“ How is this fair? You know me but I don’t know you? We should change that.” He was laughing, around you and it was nice, you felt nice to be around him, something you didn’t feel around a man in a long time.
- “Well, you’re a doctor, I should know you if I need one around, right?” You were joking, who were you? And how you got this nerve to flirt back with the man you’ve been dreaming about.
-“That’s sound fair, I think we should meet at lunch, 12 o’clock, at your usual table.” And he just left, the doors opened and he left just like that. You were in shock and also didn’t get the part about the table, how does he knows about your usual table? Would it be that he looked at you too? But you didn’t want to get your expectations high or your heart broken.
You got to your office and just stayed for a few minutes enjoying this beautiful event, for you it was amazing to communicate and find the courage to have a conversation with Neil, you don’t know him that well, but from the moment you saw him you had this feeling in your chest that wouldn’t go and when his not around you have the same feeling. You tried to ignore it but what if it’s true? What if he likes you too?
You didn’t have so much work to do until lunch break but still the clock won’t move, it was so annoying and also you were a little scared that he wouldn’t show up, maybe a patient or maybe he will forget. Quickly you wave those thoughts and let the happiness come again, you’re beautiful, smart and amazing, if he doesn’t show up it’s his loss, not yours. He wanted to have lunch with you not the other way around.
After so many hours, only 4 but it’s felt like 24, you were in the cafeteria, at your usual table, with just a coffee and a slice of banana bread because that’s the only thing that you can eat before you would know what he has to say or if he ever shows up.
He did showed up. You see him coming in your direction and it’s feeling so good to finally got to meet the man you were staring at.
“- Hi, again. I’m so happy you got the time to come meet me up” please don’t smile at me like that, that’s you re only thought when you’re looking at him. Who could resist this man? Not you, for sure.
“- Thank you for the invite, I didn’t think you would be interested in spending time with me.” And you didn’t it, you were to honest to soon and you think this will freak him out and live.
“- Why not? You might be the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. And I know you’re interested too.” That was a shock, him saying those words you only heard never in your life from a man, but from him? Was this a dream? Or a joke? But wait, why would he think you’re interested? Yea you are, but why would he think you are? Let’s try to play the game.
“- Why would I be interested?” And he smiled at you, but the most charming smile he has and you didn’t think he would do that, but he pulled your chair like it was nothing, his shirt almost torn from his flexed muscles and he was so close to you.
“- This game would be fun to play but I assure you, I can feel the way you look at me, the way you want me to be with you doing everything you dream of.” He was cocky and you liked it, he was an attractive man and he knows it and nothings it’s more sexier that this but also you looked around, you didn’t want people to think bad of you and also you know he’s got an interest in you and why not to play a little game with him.
You touched his face with your finger and got from the cheek to the lips, and you stopped right there on his lips and looked into his eyes, the handsome doctor is at your mercy. “- I think you got it wrong dr Melendez, I could assure you, nothing it’s true and I can’t believe you would say all this out loud, now if you excuse me, I need to get back to work” but your tone was so playful and innocent that he was in shock, he could believe that you were actually so bold and not as shy as he thought.
And the game started.

Im so done with my life that i have decided to open tumblr so i might as well let you know my thoughts, opinions and viwes you didn't ask for.
Here we go
I've started watching the good doctor (I'm on 1.13) and it's quite terrible autism rep from what I've read. I feel like the show would be geart if mc wasn't autistic (lot of plotlines and eps would be lost but it'd be great). I kinda hate Shaun Murphy (MC) and so I just watch it for everyone else. Everyone else is so AMAZING ahhhhh like -:
Shaun (1 resident) - hate they guy quite annoying but cute sometimes
Claire Browne (2 resident) - she's fine ig - tbh i find her boring but not exactly - she's meh, average, mid
Jared Kalu (3 resident) - I liked him but after the thing he pulled in 1.12 to get his job back is dumb - hot af, love british accent
Dr. Arron Glassman (Hospital President) - father figure to shaun, took him in & all- he nice - worried abt shaun a lil too much
Dr Marcus Andrews (Head of surgery?) - against shaun and glassman - wants to be persident - becomes better as show goes on - cool wife (love that he's married didn't expect it)
Dr. Neil Melendez (Attending) - he hot - Absolutely in love with fiancé - so hot it's insane - wants kids - did i mention hes hot and I'm completely gone for him
Jessica Preston (legal head?) - fiancé of Melendez - only fought w/ him in 1st few eps - made me belive she hated him - she's madly in love with him - relationship gets better - they're so in love - what she pulled in 1.12 made me think she's insane
NOW HERE’S THE KICKER. WHAT I REALLY WANT TO RANT ABOUT
Spoilers for the show
Jessica dosent want kids so this lady breaks up with the guy she's insanely in love w/ who loves her just as much cuz she thinks he'll regret being with her w/o kids.
The break up scene is the saddest ever
i made some deductions after the first few eps, most were right (incase ur wondering, ps. I dont think u were) and i knew they'd break up but that's cuz they fought a lot, i didn't know they were madly in love. Next thing I knew Melendez was gonna end up w/ Claire, his resident. I hate this pairing, idk why but i do.
ergo, this insane women has completely devestaed me for the rest of my life
TLDR ; neil Melendez is hot, Jessica Preston is insane and that evil woman has completely devastated me and she should not be allowed

Why Did Nicholas Gonzalez Leave The Good Doctor? Explained
Tumblr media
Want to know the reason, why did Nicholas Gonzalez leave The Good Doctor? This is something that most of the fans are going crazy to learn. Well, he played the character of Dr. Neil Melendez and left the show at the end of Season 3. The impact was brought realistically in the series. Despite that, fans were disappointed with his absence.  Starting from the basics, Nicholas Edward Gonzalez gained fame for his role as Alex Santiago in  Resurrection Blvd. Some of his other notable works are listed as Falling Awake, The Purge: Anarchy, Undressed, American Family, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Melrose Place, Mental, Bordertown, Modern Family, etc. Are not you watching Nicholas in La Brea playing the role of Captain Levi Delgado? He is doing great.  Born on 3 January 1976, Nicholas is now 46 years old. The actor hails from San Antonio, Texas, United States. For his incredible performance, he received an Impact Award, from the National Hispanic Media Coalition.  Well, in The Good Doctor Season 4, Nicholas as Neil was absent from the staff at the St. Bonaventure Hospital. If you are looking for the reason behind Nicholas Gonzalez's leaving The Good Doctor, here are your answers.  Also Read: Why Did Kal Penn Leave House? The Real Reason Behind it Reason Behind Nicholas Gonzalez Leaving The Good Doctor Revealed When asked about Nicholas Gonzalez as Dr. Neil Melendez's departure from The Good Doctor, it turned out to be very much realistic, as explained before. The executive producer and the showrunner, David Shore opened up about it. As we know, his character died at the end of Season 3. On this note, he said that it served as a reminder to the audience that the other fellow characters were still there. Most importantly, it showcased that tragedy is a very significant and real part of life. He added saying that one would want to confront mortality while doing a series like The Good Doctor. Also, he shared that bad things do happen, no matter how hard one tries not to deal with them. He wanted to see how the audience would react to both bad and good news. Taking note of this, Nicholas left the show having no feud or bad blood with the crew.  Moreover, David shared that Nicholas acted amazingly but the former was following where the story would take him. Many fans wondered why the actor was specifically chosen for his character to get ended so early with a tragic death. Well, there was nothing personal, as shared by the showrunner himself. He said, "I'd rather not go into it, particularly."  Well, it was meant to happen like that. So, it happened. David and Nicholas shared a great bond and were pretty close. Despite his exit, following the end of his character, David never failed to gush about Nicholas, whenever asked.   Why did David plan to end Nicholas' character? As mentioned already, it was not planned but was meant to take place. On this note, the former said that his death was considered to be a big loss to The Good Doctor's audience because he had relationships with most of the leading characters.  David said that he wanted to lose such a character that people would feel something about, mainly the pain. Also, he felt like Neil Melendez was such a character that people majorly be in touch with. In some way or the other, it made them explore more relationships in the show. What's your say on this? Are you still disappointed? Being a fan, you would! But, concerning the plot, the reason was pretty much understandable and valid.  Talking more about it, Nicholas was very much aware of the end of his role in The Good Doctor right after Season 3. Well, by the time he joined the series, the actor faced quite a new thing in his personal life. So, he was dealing with that. While leaving the show, things got more difficult for him. However, he was proud enough of how the character ended.  Wishing Nicholas Gonzalez nothing but the best for his future days. He is continuing his wonderful work in the industry. You may give Nicholas a following on his Instagram account, for more updates. Sending loads of love!  Also Read: Why Did Glenn Rhee Leave The Walking Dead? Reason Behind It Read the full article
