Review of Dr.Jart+’s Ceramidin Facial Barrier Mask
Dr.Jart+ is a brand known for its high-quality skincare and beauty products; in addition, Dr.Jart+’s offers CC and BB Creams and skin primers. Their Ceramidin Facial Barrier Mask is designed to provide skin with a proprietary ceramide complex that provides deep hydration and strengthens the skin barrier. Key ingredients include 1,000ppm of ceramide complex (nourishing, contains natural fatty acids, improves skin texture, adds suppleness, helps lock moisture into the skin, protects against environmental damage, anti-aging, maintains the skin barrier), ectoin (moisturizing, soothing, protects the skin barrier, maintains water balance, nourishing, maintains elasticity), turmeric root extract (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, makes skin more radiant and glowy, skin reviving) and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid (designed to easier penetrate the skin, stimulates collagen synthesis, moisturizing). This mask retails for between $4-5 USD, you can get a box of 5 here for $20 + shipping.
Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Laminaria Japonica Extract, Beta-Glucan, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Eclipta Prostrata (False Daisy) Leaf Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Melia Azadirachta (Chinaberry) Flower Extract, Corallina Officinalis (Coral Weed) Extract, Ocimum Sanctum (Holy Basil) Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta (Chinaberry) Leaf Extract, Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Maltodextrin, Ceramide NP*, Ceramide AP*, Ceramide NS*, Ceramide AS*, Ceramide EOP (*1,000ppm), Ectoin, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Flower Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Betaine, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Adenosine, Cholesterol, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Glyceryl Stearate, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Tocopherol
Tumblr media
The mask contains 22 grams (0.77 oz) and while there's no artificial fragrance, there are essential oils.
Tumblr media
The mask is made of a very nice, thin but sturdy material. It's got a great fit and I didn't need to adjust anything.
Recommended use is after washing your face, even out the skin texture with toner and then open the mask and apply it carefully. Leave on for 15-20 minutes and then remove and tap to aid absorption. Before opening, squeeze and move the essence around the mask pack to infuse the mask further. This mask was designed for sensitive skin types. After using, my first impression is this is probably not the most friendly to anyone with an aversion to fragrance, it is scented with essential oils and pretty noticeable the whole time you wear the mask. So getting that out of the way. This mask has many nourishing, moisturizing ingredients and is really meant to strengthen the skin barrier and improve moisture retention. The mask is made from nice material and is very comfortable to wear. The eye holes are nice and big, as I can't have sheet masks touching my eye area at all without irritation. As for the mask itself, I didn't find it to be that amazing, it was just okay at moisturizing and the scent really lingered. I do have sensitive skin and it didn't irritate it at all but there are better choices out there that are less expensive. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to strengthen their skin barrier and to people who want some hydration.
What I like: this mask is nice quality and has some great ingredients that really improve the moisture barrier and it's meant for sensitive skin. What I don't like: there are far too many irritants and fragrances in this mask and I think that will be really irritating to the skin. It's also not an inexpensive mask.
Pros:
Hydrating
Nourishing
Nice ingredients
Great fit
Comfortable
Skin barrier strengthening
Sensitive skin friendly
Cons:
Fragrance
Expensive
Could be more moisturizing
Underwhelming
Would I buy again?
No
Rating: 7/10

WHAT'S IN MY BAG WITH ENHYPEN.
Tumblr media
after niki's turn, tara pulls out her bag and places it onto the table.
"this is my own bag." she grins, "i bought it with my own money."
Tumblr media
she carefully unzips the bag and pulls out seven pouches, "this is everything i have... the members all bought one for me for my birthday.
tara brings the first golden pouch in front of her, "this is from jay. it's actually a first aid kit! i have all sorts of things like bandaids, ointment, sewing kit, stain remover, etc. living with seven boys is hard work. gotta keep them safe and alive." she giggles, the boys grumbling about how they aren't clumsy.
she puts everything back before pulling out a small white case, "this is from heeseung. it's a jewelry case! here, let me show you.." tara reaches in to pull out a few bracelets and necklaces. "tada! no earrings though because i don't wear them unless i have to."
next, tara pulls out a black re-nylon zipper pouch, "this is from jake and it holds all of my travel skin care. i usually take off my makeup right away after i'm done with my schedules on the way home. that was i can wash up and head to bed right away." she shows off her skincare then put it back in the pouch to show off another one.
"this is the same re-nylon pouch. just different color and style. it's a pretty light blue color and i put all of my lip products on here! oh this is from niki. and this also includes the dr.jart+ 'vital hydra solution hydrating lip mask'. this works like magic. i have very sensitive lips so i usually don't put any chapstick or lip balm on, knowing i'll get an allergic reaction. but so far so good! i'm in love." tara shows off a few of her favorite lip products before putting it away again.
tara then pushes a small pink pouch in front of her, "this is like.. my miscellaneous pouch? i have my airpods and string headphones in here.. i also have receipts in here sometimes.. this is from sunoo!"
"this is a leather travel pouch and i usually have my hand lotion, perfumes, retouching makeup in here. this is from jungwon! i also carry small vitamin and snack pouches in here if i'm tired or need to recharge."
she then pushes the final bag in front of her, "this is from sunghoon. it's a drawstring re-nylon pouch! i know the color looks intimidating but i asked for all different colors and apparently this was the only one i didn't have... i think it's super cute! here i usually have extra clothes in here! it fits a lot and i usually change into it after i finish practice. i like to have clean clothes on when i'm done."
tara puts her pouches away as she finishes talking and switch seats with the members behind her.

What's your skincare routine currently?
I actually spent the other week taking stock of how my current routine was working and deciding if I needed to change anything, so I have a lot to say on this
AM:
Wash face with water
(extra step for wintertime) Avène thermal water
Serum with antioxidants and niacinamide: just switched from facetheory Colloidal-C Anti-Redness Toner, which I got in hope of reducing redness (did nothing for me) back to facetheory’s Cera-C Pore Reducing Toner, which actually makes my skin look great. It has 5% niacinamide and a vitamin C derivative, which is what I want – I just would like extra perks (anti-redness). An alternative I’m considering is the Isntree Onion Newpair Gel cream.
(extra step if my skin is feeling very dry i.e. what I use during winter) hydrating serum: I’ve just finished Avène Hydrance Serum which I found very hydrating though too light weight (i.e. not good for winter for me) and honestly it lasted so little that I won’t buy it again. My go to instead is snail mucin: Mizon’s Snail Repair Ampoule (best formula but not so much product, what I’m currently using); or COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Essence (best bang for your buck, though my pump was really bad)
Alpha-arbutin: most recent addition to my skincare & it seems to be making a difference when it comes to discoloration (PIE). I’m using Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum, mostly because this was the only product I could find here in Norway.
Caffeine for my undereye: I’m using The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream – while I can say it’s infinitely better than what The Ordinary offers (because why would you use a dropped for something that goes around the eyes!!), I can’t tell if I’m seeing results or not, despite using it for almost three months. Maybe?
Moisturizer: Eucerin 5% Urea Repair, my holy grail of all time. I buy this by the litre. Since I entered my mid-20s, my skin has turned dry. Combined with drier winters and the heating I have to put on to survive winter, this is the only thing that makes my skin stay intact.
Sunscreen: probably controversial, but I actually don’t wear sunscreen everyday, as the amount of light I get is ridiculous (though I do in the summer or if there is snow). Over the past year, I tried several ones and my top two choices are Beauty of Joseon Sun Relief (cannot fault a single thing and I found it to be good value for money based on how long it lasted me) and Isntree Onion Newpair Sunscreen (jury is out on whether the onion extract actually helps me, but I found the texture to be perfect for me and it actually ensures I apply a proper amount since it’s not too runny)
Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment: amazing!! This has been so far the only thing that helped with redness. I haven’t worn foundation in a year and it’s only because of this. I don’t even think it’s that expensive because I spent 30£ for a 50 ml jar which lasts me six months of daily use. Love it.
PM:
My routine is the following:
Double cleanse: I’ve been liking a lot the Beauty of Jonseon Cleansing Balm – so far the best cleansing product I’ve tried. Micellar water is a no for me, as I don’t like using cotton pads. Oils are mostly ok as an alternative, with iUnik Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil being my failsafe (but it doesn’t remove 100% of my mascara).   Next, I use a foaming cleansing gel. My go-to used to be Neutrogena Clear & Defend, but it keeps being sold out, so I’m now using  CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser. It works fine. My main criteria here is price tbh.
facetheory Exaglow serum: the daily base, with tranexamic acid, liquorice root, and a vitamin c derivative, this in combination with whatever active follows has helped me reduce my hyperpigmentation so so much
An active (see below)
Moisturizer: Eucerin Urea repair, again.
Actives is when things get more complicated, because I rotate weekly between (combinations of) them
Differin (adapalene): game changer, I tolerate it very well and I recently increased it to three times per week  + Azelaic acid: I love it and over the years I tried so many different products (available in Europe). I find that for me 10% works just as well as 20%. Usually, a higher price tag gets you better texture (i.e. less grainy) but not better results. Isispharma Metroruboril was very smooth, but a more basic one works just fine for me – hence why I keep going back to The Ordinary’s 10% one. It’s not an area where I feel like I should be spending a lot.
Kojic acid: I’m using Dermaceutic’s Radiance, which works fine in combination with my overall routine. + Retinol: bit of a controversial combination, but because I’ve been using retinols for so long, this works fine. I’m using A313, which is v gentle. I bought it in Paris and it has a too thick texture in my opinion, so once I finished the tube I’ll go back to my fave L’Oreal Revitalift (amazing fragrance, great texture, very hydrating too)
An exfoliant: while some of my products have small percentages of lactic acid in it, so I never felt the need to have a dedicated exfoliating step up. However, I thought I could benefit from it and started using  facetheory’s Glycolacsal which has glycolic acid (8.5%), salicylic acid (1%) and lactic acid (0.5%).  I use it twice a week and it’s really good.
In addition to all of this, twice a week I do a face mask with benoxyl peroxide in the shower which helps tons to keep acne at bay BUT is infinitely better than using the cream, which has bleached all of my towels. The cream used to be a must in my routine but now that overall my acne is under control, I don’t need to use it as often.
This ended up being extremely long, but I love skincare and I feel like I learnt so much about my own skin and how to work with it and what products work in the past few years. I’m testing new things but in a calculated manner. And I don’t know. Skincare is nothing static and the whole process of figuring things out can be fun (and necessary).

Innovative Korean skincare brand Dr. Jart+ is finally in the Philippines
The world loves Korean skincare, and there’s no brand more loved than Dr. Jart+. That’s what makes its arrival in the Philippines a thrill for skincare enthusiasts, “skinnies”, and K-beauty buffs around the country.
Tumblr media
It’s a brand that practically invented the K-beauty industry, tracing its contributions back to one of the first BB creams ever made. It was founded in Seoul in 2005 by architect Leeo (Chin Wook) Lee. While working, Leeo was introduced to a makeup-like blemish balm only available in dermatology clinics. Inspired by this hybrid functionality, Leeo began collaborating with laboratories to create a product that blended powerful skincare benefits with the coverage of a foundation. A designer in a lab. Doctor + art. Dr. Jart+ was born.
Tumblr media
Today, Dr. Jart+ is globally known for its unique blend of scientific innovation and creativity- fantastic, effective formulations delivered with an artful play that make the brand experience unlike any other. That’s the draw, and that’s what guests got first hand at the Cicapair launch on July 1.
Tumblr media
Redness and sensitivity are near the top of the list of skin concerns for Filipinos, and there are a lot of reasons. Pollution, environmental stressors, heat, sun, acne, irritation- you name it, the Philippines has it. So the launch was conceptualized as an immersive experience- part art installation, part laboratory, and all of it visually stunning. At the outset, guests were invited to explore The Red Zone, a gallery of red video walls, lights, and text representing skin concerns and common sensitivities.
Tumblr media
Here they got a better understanding of the underlying causes. From the harsher environment of the first room, guests were then guided to the Sensitivity Free Zone, a green room with a contrastingly calm vibe enhanced by DJ Dara performing in the Chill Lounge. The centerpiece of the space was the Cicapair lab where brand ambassadors shared their expert product knowledge, conducted skin analysis tests, identified individual sensitivities, and gave personalized recommendations on how to soothe them. Guests soon found out why Cicapair is the perfect range to help them soothe and calm their sensitive skin.
Each Dr.Jart+ product has been designed to treat everyday complexion concerns with a blend of skin-balancing and ultra-healing formulas.
Tumblr media
Dr.Jart+ Cicapair™ Collection
The products use tiger grass from Asian wetlands and other lab-tested cica skincare ingredients. The serums, creams, and masks in the Cicapair™ collection were created to deliver the power of cica skincare straight to your skin.
Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 is a cica skincare bestseller that corrects redness and helps protect skin from environmental aggressors like the sun’s rays and pollution.
Cicapair™ Foaming Cleanser gently purifies and calms sensitive skin with its soothing formula. Infused with tiger grass (centella asiatica) and a blend of herbs, it effectively cleanses while reducing redness and irritation, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and balanced.
Cicapair™ Intensive Soothing Repair Gel Cream is a lightweight yet deeply hydrating gel-cream that targets redness and sensitivity. Formulated with tiger grass (centella asiatica) and botanical extracts, it helps to calm and soothe irritated skin while providing a barrier to protect against environmental stressors.
Other Dr.Jart+ Collections
As a brand that’s all about creation, there are a lot more Dr Jart+ ranges to test out. So if redness isn’t the concern, there’s a product for every issue from dehydration, uneven skin tone, fine lines, to wrinkles, and more.
The Ceramidin™ collection with Ceramides and Panthenol + Glycerin helps strengthen the skin barrier making it look and feel healthy, hydrated, glowing and full of bounce.
The Vital Hydra Solution™ collection with Hyaluronic Acid + PENTAVITIN™ instantly hydrates, plumps, and boosts skin's glow. Dr.Jart+'s new water cream, treatment essence, and bestselling face mask are all dermatologist-tested.
Dr. Jart+’s Every Sun Day™ Sunscreen collection protects the skin from harmful UV rays while providing skincare benefits. Dr.Jart+ is exclusively available at  Watsons and LOOK At Me stores nationwide, watsons.com.ph, and Watsons official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
