Okay, I'm going to have to do some mucking about with names...

I think only three character name changes will affect folks so far, and only on certain routes. I'm changing these names to better fit the context and naming conventions of the story, leaning more towards the northern European in some circumstances and away from Latin and Greek originating names.

This will only affect the Main Character's sister, brother, and cousin.

Sister:

Eleanor/Helen to Setha/Sothia

Brother:

Samuel/Stephen to Fram/Roath

Cousin:

Miles/Mathew to Durinc/Kempa

More details below:

Setha and Sothia come from the Old English words Seþan and Soþian which mean to prove true.

Fram and Roath come from the Old English words Fram and Róf which both mean to be stout, valiant and strong.

Durinc and Kempa come from the Old English words Beadurinc and Cempa which both roughly translate to soldier.

Don't read too much into the translated meanings from these new names, they're supposed to be similar to aspirational names we find today, like Hope, or Mercy.

Sorry about all this, I'll try and avoid having to make too many retroactive fixes in the future.

Im not criticizing necessarily but is there a reason in particular that all the hobbit fics on ao3 are all self-inserts/OCs? I stopped checking the tag like.... Probably a few years ago when literally everything being posted was either barduil or was hidden from me for inc*st crimes by ao3rder (and there is still a lot of that but strangely [""""strangely"""] not as much durinc*st and more legolas/thranduil and im like........ Baffled and more weired out than ever tbh) but ANYWAY now i go and look and its like.... Legit all Character/Reader fics and i think it's fascinating bc ive never seen that happen to a fandom before. And it reminds me of a post a saw a while ago about how fandoms develop a particular trope or AU that seems to proliferate that fandom like vampire AUs and now it seems like hobbit fandom has been taking over by CharxReader fics and im kind of fascinated cant lie.
