I think we moved on too quickly from the video that Lumen made about the “Macrodat Uprising”. It is humorous. It is horrifying. Everything these people did has been made into a parody supporting the very thing they wanted to destroy. Irving’s “let’s burn this place to the ground” being made into a spectacle is meant to be humiliating, and it takes a moment where Irving is turning against his entire life and faith and making it look like a melodramatic overreaction. It used the audio that was gathered through constant surveillance and then used the innies’ sense of community and what used to be their hope for a better life to further chip away at that hope. Lumen is weaponizing the characters against themselves. It makes a mockery out of the first real thing they experienced

the MOMENT Helly is back she is storming into offices demanding to know what is happening yelling and calling everyone out for their bullshit and immediately planning how to save Ms Casey the moment she learns who she actually is...... I am so glad they leaned into how scary it is to her that no one noticed she was gone, that her body was being hijacked, and now she is even judged for what her body had done while she wasn't in control. This is a topic of conversation that my friend and I discuss often - which of these idiots actually has a brain cell. We have a general agreement of who does: Nicky (rip), Dowd, TvR, and now Sgarbs.

Meanwhile Carly, Strome, and Sandin are the team nerds - which is true! If you listen to/read a bunch of Caps content from this year you can find sources saying that Carly and Strome are obsessed with stats. And I remember one interview DSP had with Ovi about one of Ovi’s milestones in which DSP asked “Do you know about your upcoming milestones or does Carly just tell you?” And if DSP is saying this it means that Carly has been Annoying Stats Guy for a long time. And Ovi actually answered with “yes him or Stromer” making them BOTH Annoying Stats Guy. As for Sandin, there’s a podcast he did with Mike Vogel talking about how he’s into like hockey trivia and such, and in some old Leafs content William Nylander calls Sandin a “hockey encyclopedia” and there’s this one game he’s playing with Timothy Liljegren where he’s giving a bunch of lengthy, long-winded, wordy answers to questions which makes Liljegren go “this is supposed to be a speed round, Rasmus,” all of this to say that Sandin definitely joins Strome and Carly as the team nerds. However, they are the team nerds but they absolutely do not have brain cells imo. I feel this is an important distinction

alright, since the Remedy brainworms got me I've been replaying Control, got to the AWE expansion last night and picking up on all the echoes/foreshadowing for Alan Wake 2 is making me go utterly bonkers, but like. has anyone picked up on or talked about how in all of Alan's Hotline messages to Jesse, when he's writing about her POV, he exclusively calls her 'Faden'

like, maybe it didn't poke my brain the first time I played it since he does the same thing when talking about Hartman, but coming from AW2 it's pretty jarring as a stylistic oddity...almost like there's a reason (in-universe and/or out-of-universe) that he doesn't call her 'Jesse'...almost like there's only one Faden in his story...

and given how in AW2 we also get some (quasi-) clarification regarding the limits of Alan's ability to "make stuff up" vs alter and rewrite "real-world" events that he sees in clairvoyant flashes...given the Night Springs screenplay pages you can find in AWE that parallels the FBC and the events of Control (i.e. a Director and a Scientist opening a portal to another dimension, finding an eldritch Entity, the Director trying to take its power for himself and then getting taken over before shooting himself)...given how literally all of the "dreams" Dylan tells Jesse about are descriptions/viewings of stuff that takes place on one level of reality or another ("I was the director and you were an intern"; "we were in a game, and it was a fucking boring game but you couldn't stop playing it"; Mister Door, and "a world with a writer writing about a cop, and another world where the writer was real"; a "musical" about Jesse), except, seemingly, the dream about "Jesse Dylan Faden"...

guys. are you picking up what I'm putting down here. guys. GUYS

Thank you for the asks!! I'm gonna answer this one first because I think it'll be the shortest answer- because my own music taste and knowledge aren't very varied.

BUT, what I am 100% certain about is that Dylan, Kaitlyn, & Emma are the Swifties of the group. They went to the Eras tour together at least once, depending how they fared in the war against Ticketmaster. Which, after werewolves, I think they would do well.

Otherwise... all I know for sure is that Ryan doesn't listen to pop music (sadly), and Max listens to nothing else.

The One Piece Live Action Adaptation is GOOD

Oh their chemistry as friends is great. The show put a lot of effort into getting them to find their footing there and they balance each other out well. They make great partners in crime, as characters, but the romance is very much "well, he's the Main One and she's the Girl One, so..."

jo’s one year contracts are making me twitchy. free agency day 2025 better have an announcement for a jo 8yr contract so help me god. my entirely unfounded theory is that he will get like. actual term if he puts up 50+ points again in the upcoming season + the avs will have another successful go of it -> the natejo narrative will once and for all no longer be classified as a tragedy. my second entirely unfounded theory is in five years dylan will end up on the oilers on a 1 year deal and connor (and leon ..?) will have to learn how to be normal and regular about it all

Huddled in a corner of the broken shuttle with a crewmate, Yet'zaks was confused.

"What are the humans doing?" Xe asked quietly.

"They are seeking supplies." D'A!!k responded, their whistles muted as they struggled to vocalise in the frigid air.

"Why? There is no way to repair the shuttle and no recovery planned."

The honourable and dignified way to die in these situations was quiet and still. It was to sleep.

The humans did not understand that. They were searching for ways to generate warmth, for water and food.

"There are no rescue ships coming. They know we will be dead before they can arrive." D'A!!k tried to explain to the humans.

"Bollocks to that."

"That- apologies, I believe I have had a malfunction in my translator."

"I doubt it. I said bollocks and I meant it." The human snapped back. "The atmosphere is breathable, the temperature's low but there's fuel for a fire, there's snow so there's water, and there's vegetation so there'll be something to eat."

"It is futile if we are never rescued."

"Twenty percent of our colony worlds started with a crash." The human laughed. "You spineless bastards can lay down and die-"

"We have spines." D'A!!k corrected, confused as to why his anatomy was being referenced.

"We do not go gentle into that goodnight, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage, against the dying of the light." The human picked up, to D'A!!k's rapidly growing horror, an actual stone tipped spear. "You can curl up and die while we build ourselves a new home." The human turned away. "Hey guys, I've got a name for the planet! Thomas! We can be the Dylan colony on planet Thomas!"
