When the prophet tells Odysseus that he sees a man with his wife, a dangerous killer with a trail of bodies behind him, and Odysseus screams like he never has before, even when the guy told them they were never going to get home- chef kiss

Knowing that that dangerous killer IS Odysseus- donkey kick to the gut.

so i noticed some cool things while listening to the underworld saga.

Listening to "Full Speed Ahead" after listening to "The Underworld" repeatedly is so devastating, especially when it comes to Polites.

When Odysseus sings his name in "Full Speed Ahead," you can HEAR the smile and joy in his voice on "Polites!" That's his best friend!

And then there's "The Underworld," where Odysseus says his name twice. When he first sees him, he says it gently, almost like he wasn't expecting to see him again. And then after Polites disappears, having sung of greeting the world with open arms to the end, Odysseus says his name again, so quiet, broken, and full of grief. That was his best friend.

poor man odysseus discovers his mom died waiting for him and doesn't even have time to process and grieve because a prophet tells him his wife will be with some other man (he's the man, or better i should say monster)

Voiced by Jay’s mom.. it’s the softest part of the whole musical, those were her last thoughts as she died, Odysseus hadn’t seen her in 10 Years. Odysseus recognized her voice immediately. He Joins her in singing. I’m devastated. Actually sobbing.
