i'm still in the early stages of writing, so everything is subject to change! here is some info about the characters/settings that i have bouncing around my brain as i write! i'm also working on character moodboards that i'll probably post at some point

and i'm heavily leaning towards proper enemies to lovers for this story *rubs hands together evilly*

fields of mistria march x farmer vampire!au headcanons below the cut! (sfw)

march

✧ older than he looks, but not old old. he is still a relatively young vampire. turned in his 20s, now in his 40s or 50s.

✧ olric is his biological brother and they were turned around the same time.

✧ they've lived in mistria for 7 years or so. their condition is secret. the villagers haven't really noticed that they don't age much- with the effects of potions/magic, it is not terribly uncommon for aging to be slowed somewhat (kind of like plastic surgery in today's world)

✧ march struggles with vampirism more than olric. when he was first turned, march struggled especially with self-control.

✧ he hasn't fed on a human in more than a decade. he feeds on animals. the other villagers believe he is a hobbyist hunter, he'll bring back animals to the shop to process.

✧ he uses the leather or antlers in some of his projects, but he is a blacksmith first. he stores the blood for use over the week or so between hunts.

✧ his greatest desire is for his existence to mean something. his greatest fear is that he is nothing more than a monster.

farmer

✧ f!farmer (planning on 2nd person pov but i am still on the fence)

✧ "retired" adventurer, familiar with hunting monsters

✧ suspicious of and unfortunately attracted to the grumpy blacksmith

✧ pathological need to help others sometimes at your own expense

✧ moving to a derelict farm and rebuilding a partially destroyed town is your idea of a "relaxing retirement"

honestly, i think he would !

i feel like he’d be the type to try and get her out of her shell, and like goof around with her in public to push those limits a bit to see how comfortable she is with certain things, without making her uncomfortable/crossing boundaries.

i think he’d also be able to tell when she’s uncomfortable in a social situation and clock it immediately, and be like “we can go right now if you want” without making it obvious.

i think he’d relish in knowing she was comfortable around him for sure. i think he’d definitely be patient and understanding and empathetic !

Hello yes! I’m very glad you’re enjoying it!

Vio and Red are identical twins (obviously). They’re a very chaotic duo and the motivation behind most of their actions (especially in the campaign) is to get the story going completely off the rails! Vio flirting with the villains, Red constantly messing with Blue, both of them stepping in when it’s important but usually having plans to be of no help whatsoever for shits and giggles.

I know that Blue and Shadow are very close friends (I mean, all of them are close, except Green, he’s kind of new). Shadow has the upper hand in messing with Blue, however. His bad luck always works in Shadow’s favor. Blue is very tired. Help him.

Green is the new guy in the group. He knows them all already, but hasn’t hung out with them that much. It’s likely that one of the twins dragged him to one of Shadow’s campaigns against his will; he’s still trying to figure out the ropes, and struggling to come to terms with the fact that staying on track is a lost cause with these boys. He just wants a semi-serious adventure that stays on script, dang it!

I haven’t really figured out everyone’s relationships in a further fleshed out sense, but I do have some ideas floating around in my head!

- Vio and Shadow are absolutely partners. Romantic, platonic, in crime, for school projects… it’s unclear! But they are together, and they are making it everyone else’s problem.

- I, personally, love the appeal of Green x Vio. However, my good, perfectly sane friend @glitchedfoxx has me absolutely sold on Green x Blue. So, for now any ships are undecided, because I can’t make up my mind.

- I’ve got an idea in my head of Princess Zelda being based off of (or at least named after) Shadow’s little sister! While I like the idea of Zelda and Link being in relationships romantically in some scenarios, personally I tend to prefer her relationship with the colors in Four Swords to be more sibling-like. So, perhaps the Princess Zelda in the campaign could be a character created by IRL Zelda, that Shadow put in because he loves his sister! I just love the concept of Shadow and Zelda having a sibling dynamic, and making Zelda in this AU actually be Shadow’s little sister makes my heart very happy.

- as you can probably already tell, Shadow is not evil in any sense of the word in this AU. He’s just a wicked DM, the kind that takes any opportunity available to completely screw over the party. In real life, he’s a very kind and sweet person— though, his sense of humor can be disturbingly dark. It’s off-putting to people who don’t know him that well.

short term/currently on-page: allow them to reunite after being separated for several months and not be angry with one another about it like they were in the first few OG drafts long term/planned: let them [aeramis and bastien] have the happy ending they've earned by the end of their entwined stories

answered in another post (x) but! to expand on that, aeramis is just one of those characters where, while they are super personal to me, there's something about how them being doomed by the narrative in that way, so to speak, feels very fitting?? for them?? but also not wholly satisfying. and also, because i did answer this question, the other character i would consider killing off is bastien. ah, my two MCs. i think that would actually make aeramis lose it tbh. they've already been through so much and losing bastien would be the final tipping point for them to have a corruption arc

47,110 as of this moment! this week's been rough on the mental health, so mothlight has taken a back seat while i recharge. lots of reading and ruminating on how to strengthen moments between the three books, but not a lot of physical writing.

What are your thoughts on all the space comparisons Strangelove uses about The Boss?

FREAKING EXPLODING LEVELS OF I LOVE IT SO MUCH- LIKE- how it ties back to their time at NASA but also shows how much strangelove really loved her- on a cosmic scale- its just so well rounded and everything- from the very beginning- like starting from portraying Strangelove's isolation until meeting the Boss- she couldnt go out in the sun to me at least has a lot more meaning than just her being albino- its made very clear strangelove always felt isolated as a child, be it her albinism, identity as a lesbian, or just not relating to the children around her, so it made sense she looked outwards, away from earth to space- she couldnt go out with other people- in the sun- but the boss was never the sun- the boss was the moon- something strangelove was more familiar with, a companion she felt closer to than anyone else- "We sought each other out... Completed each other. Did you know that inside every woman there's a universe, and that we are able to sense this in each other. " (FREAKING EXPLODING AUAUAUAGAAHHH!1!1!! <333333) THIS ALSO JUST TIES IN WONDERFULLY WITH THE BOSS'S LIKE EVENTUAL- LIKE- TIE IN BACK WITH EARTH- as the moon- the boss is still very different from others much like strangelove- but still so- so enamoring- everyone can appreciate the beauty of the moon- much like how naked and eva and strangelove and everyone around her ended up inspired- but at the same time is still deeply connected to earth- watching over us in its constant orbit - I think this ties in with how the boss sees the earth- "I thought she would tell me about space. The true sky, where the stars don't twinkle. But the only thing she'd speak of was Earth. Our home - as she'd seen it from space. So fleeting, so irreplaceable." as the moon this makes sense for her- from space, and as the moon she can see not only the earth- but humanity- as something precious- and thats why she worked so hard in everything she did- ITS JUST- WUAGH- SUCH A GOOD METAPHOR AND SUCH FREAKING GOOD IMAGERY- it was really the boss that helped strangelove connect back to earth- to people- to humanity- "Because she taught me the dignity of living. My eyes are open now. I want to go on living, and seeing real people." I JUST- WUAAGHHHHH- its just so,,, well,,, freaking written,,, all the space stuff,,, also moon lesbians <3 ANYWAYS YEAAAAA I LOVE THE SPACE STUFF the boss really was the astronaut that brought alienated strangelove's heart back to earth <33333

I utterly ADORE your chubby reader x Logan fics!!! I've been thinking about Logan with a chubby reader for like a month and you manifested it absolutely perfectly!!! Like you fucking G E T IT on every fuckin level!!!

I was obsessed with the idea that Reader isn't used to being the lighter partner (Like my man has adamantium bones, Logan is the one who hesitates putting his full weight on you lol BUT I also think he'd love that you'd be able to take it and encourage him to anyway 🥰) and they're for once able to be (consensually) manhandled and PICKED UP!!!!

I think the first time Logan does it, it catches you so off-guard you practically squeal, arms wrapping around and nails digging into his shoulders for dear life haha. And he's so thrilled, he loves being able to do elicit that reaction from you, and he carries you to the nearest surface and ravages you with kisses.

I love just being able to totally let go with Logan, not having to think even the slightest bit about being too heavy for a position. I just know that Logan obliges in some they never thought they'd be able to do ;)

I also want to thank you so much for writing a Reader who is comfortable with their body!!! I was thinking about that, and how we need more of it, even if it's just neutrality. Even though that's not me at all, I hope to work up to it someday and the escapism and self-love in it is so wonderful and ahhh!!!! You also know Logan would just love and totally fall for the confidence.

But the specific mentions of the belly, his appreciate words ("belong in a painting"!!!), the fuckin contrast of your softness to his steeliness and it being something Logan adores!!! It's just so so so special. Thank you for the fic. 🖤🖤🖤🖤

we really do need more positive representation of larger bodies in media!! as i was writing i was like... i don't know if i've ever read a book where plus size or chubby bodies are described positively which is actually quite upsetting to think about but just makes me want to write it more

my biggest hope is for that fic to help people love their bodies a little more, it was so therapeutic writing it! 💖

you're so right btw, logan would LOVE that confidence, i love that thought 🥹 i was also thinking about how logan has been alive for so long, i imagine he's seen so many body standards come and go and probably can see that it's all bs. it was important for me to mention that the reader has an actual belly because so many descriptions i can remember of tummies not necessarily in fics but in romance books, for example specifically call them flat... cowards!!!

UGH im so glad you liked the "belongs in a painting" part seriously when i was looking at the depiction of women in renaissance paintings, and i saw parts of my body - it was so magical like our bodies really are sexy!!!
