I lost you in the night, Julien. I should have left you alone. I shouldn't have kissed you or caressed your face.

If you didn't kill Simon, never mind. If you were afraid, so much the better. But you must come back. I must have you here alive, by my side. I must. I must. I must. Jeanne Moreau in Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (Elevator to the Gallows, 1958) dir. Louis Malle

Miles & Jeanne Moreau in 1957 during the recording of the music for Elevator To The Gallows, Louis Malle's french noir masterpiece. One of my favorite films and movie soundtracks.

Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (1958) - Louis Malle
Tout ces gens qui vont au cinéma chercher des aventures… Ils en sortent comme du restaurant, le ventre gonflé, les yeux rouges.

Loved the dark tone on this one, it's one of the most unique jazz songs I have heard, it gives me mystery and thriller viber of old movies from the 70's or 60's. It also brings an existential and reflective sensation, it's seems to be a much more internal sound, a song to listen when you are only with yourself and your thoughts, hence, it's perfect for philosophical moments.
Song: L'assassinat de Carala
Artist: Miles Davis
Year: 1958

Ascenseur Pour L'Échafaud (1958) (Elevator to the Gallows) • Directed by Louis Malle
I know this is considered a minor film but it's a personal favorite. I love the black and white cinematography, the theme of doomed lovers, and the killer MILES DAVIS soundtrack.
The night shots of Jeanne Moureau wandering the Champs-Élysées backed by the jazz score are cinema!
This gem was born from a four-hour session of improvisation.
