They can also be found on line or in ARRL.. Amateur Radio Hand Book.. Every ham should have a Amateur Radio Hand Book form the arrl Old or new You can learn almost everything you as an amateur form even the old book.. I think you do have to register but I do not think you have to be a licensed ham to register on eham, It is a great site to research on equipment questions ect hey have great forums…. It is a great way to see if you are ready for the tests. And a very valuable toll to have in your survival kit.. And some one will always answer a question you have.. How to charge your phone (with personal energy)

I do this since I carry my phone around pretty much all day and thought, "Hey, why not? Batteries can store more than one type of energy, right?" So here I am, incase anyone wants to draw inspiration from this. Also sorry about formatting I'm on mobile.

Passive charging

Just keeping it on your person and using it is embedding your energies already. I mean, you're already doing it if you read this post on mobile (and I'm doing so as I write this), but this experience is mundane and commonplace. I feel like very little energy is produced this way but that may be a good thing depending on your situation.

Something as simple as rubbing the case with intent or even taking the time to admire your phone may produce more energy, but this might be considered as actively charging your phone.

Active charging

Since ADHD is a thing, I often have atleast 2-3 songs on an endless mix (and honestly not even good transitions imo) constantly changing all the time. I figure I can put this to good use by having a little rhyme I sing in my head from time to time when I'm not using my phone if it's just in my pocket or if I'm carrying it in my hand as I sit/walk/whatever:

Charging my phone, I'm charging my phone/Not with a charger but with my soul!/Charging my phone, I'm charging my phone/I can use the juice when I get home!

To me, this is very catchy and often gets stuck in my head, even when I don't have my phone on my person. I'd imagine saying this over and over in your head will have the same, if not greater effect. It doesn't have to be this exact rhyme; you can use a simple mantra of "charge", or a more elaborate chant. Whatever works for you. Also while this plays, I imagine a shiny cord going from myself to my phone's charging port slowly transfering my energy to my phone's battery with each repetition of the rhyme.

If visualisation isn't your thing; maybe holding some thread or ribbon of any length that's halfway tucked into the phone's case or just sticking out but not easily removeable w/o taking off the case. (You can also use the phone charger itself plugged into the phone normally if you're comfortable with that). Being aware of the phone, your charging cord of choice, your hand or leg, and the connection between them will also have similar (and maybe a more potent) charging effect. If you'd like, you may find it helpful to imagine a one-way flow of energy as described prevoiusly.

Transferering stored energy

This whole post is really useful for me since I'm often just dead tired from the day's many challenges. Some days I'll practice writing in my book of shadows, some days I fall asleep right after I crawl into bed and won't wake up until well after sunrise.

When I want to transfer the personal energy from my phone I imagine detatching the cord from myself to wrap around my book of shadows or my gemstones or whatever else I feel might need some energy at the time. Sometimes I'll wrap the cord around my pencil when practicing my cypher to help with memorization.

For those who prefer using a physical cord (people who like visualization or find it easier can do these too) you can do the above as well as;

bookmark your favorite page of a book so you can have an aspect of it reflected whithin yourself (or to help a spell/hex/thing along),

make a sigil with the cord and see what happens (untested),

wrap the cord around your tarot deck if you tend to move around a lot at night and are afraid of damaging your cards unintentionally,

to be honest you can charge just about anything that needs charging with this spell(?)

I had written, in total, 26 pages (according to Word) consisting the earlier timeline of the whole mess of a plot which is honestly so underdeveloped, I don’t even know how it ends or what the main conflict was. It could have been where I improved on action writing but I guess it never went there

Why did I stop? This writing needed much descriptive settings, like actual words you know that tells you what when where how. I don’t know how to develop exactly each of the characters and make them all part of a singular plot and . . . no inspiration as of now.

Am I throwing it out? Uhh, yes and no . . . I can really go back to it just because of the characters but right now, the plot and settings pretty much suck

It now sunk in that Mama and Papa had not planned to send someone to get me. Even I had not known of the lack of transportation in the Capital’s airport. I saw it now – empty, glossy, like the government had it built but never used it anyway. In the plane, I only ever heard of connecting flights.

But truly, no cabs were in sight. No other vehicles, either. The stretch of asphalt told me we were a forest away from the city center. This time, the sunrise over at the horizon was not comforting.

I slumped against the wall. To my left, the boy boarded his scooter – wherever that came from – then snapped a helmet on. He stared at me again. He spoke, “Hi . . . do you . . . are you – do you have a ride?”

“None right now, no,” I replied, not breaking away from the horizon.

“Uh,” he trailed off for a moment, “Do you want a ride?”

That bright yellow scooter was already a sole cause for hesitation. I visualized my suitcase straddling more room than I would, and the scooter giving in under our weight.

However, if that only way out of here left without me . . .

“No thanks,” I tapped my fingers on the coarse wall.

He remained silent but soon readjusted and revved up his ride. He was going . . .

“Wait!” I hopped off the wall.

He stopped right away and turned a hundred eighty to me. I stared down on my shoes, “Are there any cabs passing by today?”

He shook his head, adding a shrug, “Nothing comes unless you call them.”

I stared at my dead phone.

I mulled over about borrowing his phone to call a ride or anyone else. But there is no guarantee someone will be available or a cab will turn up. I hauled my bags over to him, avoided his eyes and asked, “Can I . . . go with you then?”

Quiet. Dead quiet again.

“Sure . . . of course, why not.”

In a short span of time, we tried to find a way to fit my suitcase on the scooter. With much effort, we strapped it onto the bike’s front torso. This boy promised he would hold it secure during the trip. He handed me a spare helmet, which I doubt could do any better than a piece of paper in case of an accident.

Hopping up behind him on the cramped leather seat, I grabbed on the back. As long as this thing and that boy got me home, I had no problem. He readied the ride again.

Over the thump of the engine, I tapped his back, saying, “I’m Zoe.”

“Theo,” he uttered back with a slight tilt over his shoulder.

We took off. Steady, slowly, wobbly, to keep everything safe. The scooter was not as loud as I predicted it to be. Somehow, we made to the road, which was as empty as that airport.

Theo replied, “No, no, I’m – I’m from Seon-Ahn. I trained there and – and I come home on breaks.”

So he comes home.

I shut my eyes. Seon-Ahn . . . the patch of land sandwiched between Reddard and Kisa-Arn. By Frida’s words, I knew there was a training camp there as well, but not as elaborate as the one in Reddard. The big airport was on Reddard as well, so no doubt on our same flight.

I asked one final question: “Are you done with training, too? I just got dispatched from Reddard.”

“Yes, yeah, I am – we are,” answered Theo. So we will both be home for good.

Except . . . Delluna was not quite home for me as much as it seemed to him.

A break in the continuous purrs of the engine, the scooter sputtered out and wheezed about three times. We began to slow down, the landscape that was once a blur was now a still painting.

“No, no no.” In a second, Theo was out of his seat, crouching down to check any fracture. He stood up, scowling at the meter.

I raised my head and waited.

“No, no, Mason!” Theo rubbed the side mirror over and over in anguish. “The gas! He for – forgot the damned gas!”

True enough, when I leaned to look, we were on E.

But my mind grew dots, registering over what he said. Mason?

“No, no,” Theo rubbed all over his face, frantically searching for any other way to power the scooter. I stepped aside to let him. I focused instead at the wide road ahead of us. The more I looked, the more it became clear that the city was nowhere in sight.

Next, I watched the dry plants lining the yellow earth where the road was embedded on. Shifting was a serious option and I would have done it before . . . I eyed the humongous suitcase. I did not think road travellers would appreciate a wildcat running along with a stickered bag in tow.

If I did that now, I would be leaving Theo behind. At the same time, I would be revealing the other identity.

Crossing my arms, I looked over at the spare pebbles beside us. Perhaps . . . perhaps an SOS message?

I shook my head slightly.

Theo was sitting on his legs now, lip trembling, eyes wandering. “I – I am so so – sorry,” said he, looking up, “Now you’re stuck with me, too.”

“None of it is your fault.” By the way he was acting, I better not place the weight in him, or things can turn out worse. I held the scooter to put it aside.

I peeked over at Theo, “You got a phone on you?”

So we were not getting out of this easily. I shifted my weight to my other foot. “And mine’s dead. You got a mobile charger by any chance?”

He shook his head.

There were two options (and a third, supposedly, but I refused to consider it). We could sacrifice our thumb for a hitchhike. Or we could always walk.

But we could not walk in this condition. Later on, certainly, the sun was going over our heads.

Theo hauled himself to his feet, using the scooter for leverage. He sat on the vehicle as he dusted off his pants. I cleared my throat, “We can catch a ride if we wait. Are there many cars passing by?”

He lifted his head, gazing off to the distance where we came from. “Back over there is just the Capital borders. Then Kempo even further, I think. After that maybe it’s the Border Valley and then Glass Coast.”

His eyes went back to me, “Not many people travel this way, by what I – I see when I come home.”

I shut my mouth then. There slim chances of getting help. But we could not be stuck here the whole day.

“But,” I sat on the scooter so that our backs were against each other, “Your parents must be expecting you. They should come to check sooner or later.”

“I – I don’t know. We always count on my scooter. And they’re busy. What about yours? Your parents I mean.”

I looked far away, “They’re all busy, too.”

Even I was beginning to doubt that they remember that I was coming home today.

“Then, we -we have to walk, right?” Theo stood up from behind me.

“That’s not smart,” I protested, “Delluna looks too far away. We’ll just be wasting energy.”

“I’m – I’m really sorry, I’m sorry.” I could not see him, but I could imagine that frustration in him. “You’re probably better off if you stayed in the airport. You won’t be stuck here right now with me.”

I sighed softly, “Less likely would be my chance to go home if I stayed there.” I would have been alone.

“But really, I’m sorry. You’re just a victim here. Bad things always happen to me.”

“Theo.”

“So – sorry.” Silence rounded the clock to a full minute. He opened his mouth again, “So – so do we . . . do we stay here?”

“We talk,” I said. I would rather not, but I wanted to take my dry skin and the clutches of the sunlight off my mind.

I recalled this was my first encounter with a stranger since Reddard, and there in the training camp, I was only ever used to mingling with the people I knew. This, it settled into me . . . the difference, the strangeness of freedom.

“You said you trained in Seon-Ahn,” I began, turning my head to the side and bracing my arm against the seat, “What kind of training, exactly?”

I heard his intake of breath. “What – what training?” Theo cleared his throat, “For - forget about that. It’s nothing. Nothing at all.”

I continued anyways, “And you mentioned a Mason? Is he your brother?”

“Yes,” he squeaked. Against me, I felt his back hunched over, his head bowed still.

“You – you know what,” stammered Theo, “You – you should forget about that training I told you. You should forget I said that name . . .”

“Why?” At this point I could not stop myself anymore. “So, this training you mentioned, was it shifter training?”

We both froze. Just stilled. Just for a moment, the occasional gust of wind sent my hair whipping against my face, tickling my forehead. Even I could not register what just came out of my mouth.

With the most caution I could give, I pivoted my head to look at Theo. He was still bent over, but his eyes were as wide as the sun.

A slow, gradual exhale escaped him. “You’re . . . How did you know I was a – “

I jumped out of my seat once it caught my eye. A car was nearing us, and it sped up the moment I set my eyes on it. Before I could put my hand up, the pickup slowed and stopped right in front of us.

“Wait, that – that car,” Theo slid out of his seat. He dashed towards the door.

“Dad!” he knocked at the window while I watched, “Dad! Mason forgot to fill my bike!”

The tinted window slid down to reveal a bespectacled man with a faint resemblance to Theo. A soft frown sat upon his face as he said, “Theo? I thought you’d be home by now.”

“I would have if the flight hadn’t gotten delayed –“ I could see Theo leaning in much towards the interior of the car, fists on the window. “– or if Mason filled the tank.”

“You should have texted.”

“It’s broken!”

The man stared at him for a while. “Goodness, you’re lucky you have a lifesaver. No one uses this road at all.”

“Yeah, I owe you one, Dad.”

Theo made his way back to the scooter to haul over our baggage. I volunteered to help but he shook his head and carried (with much effort) my suitcase to the back of the truck.

His father called out from the driver’s seat, “Who’s your friend?”

“Right!” Theo perked up as if he had forgotten about me. His gaze momentarily flitted towards me. “This is Zoe. She hitched a ride with me ‘cause no one will get her from the airport.”

I figured there was much left to ask since we were interrupted a second ago. I nodded in greeting. Theo ushered me over to the backseat.

Their car was a far cry from ours. Litter still dotted the place, and there were a lot of throw pillows inside. Even the dashboard contained a few knick knacks. I moved aside to make space for Theo.

“Thank you for this ride, Mister . . .” I started. Now, I realized I did not remember super prodigy Mason’s surname.

“Lefcourt,” the man nodded at me through the mirror, “Cris Lefcourt.”

Lefcourt . . . of course. Although the name held no prominent title in the shifter community, I heard my parents mention it a few times. Also, all Frida would often talk about was Mason Lefcourt this and that.

“Thank you, Mr. Lefcourt,” I said, looking at Theo, who was fumbling with the car door.

“The scooter’s all set at back,” he said. We drove off, escaped from the sweltering heat and the dust in our eyes.

I trained my eyes on the window but I could feel Theo’s frequent burning gazes at the side of my head. “So, Dad,” said he, “Why are you around here, anyway?”

“Work over at the border,” Cris shrugged nonchalantly.

Theo glanced over at me. “Is – is everything okay?”

“Of course.”

I did come to Delluna Capital a few times, and I knew well enough it was not as secured as Reddard or even Hythe. Where most shifters lurked, more hunters did as well. Scouts often had jobs by the borders.

“Zoe, am I right?” Cris pushed me from my thoughts, “You came from Seon-Ahn, too?”

“No, from Reddard,” I answered, rubbing my arm, “I had a bit of training there.”

He nodded, “Ah . . . and you finished now.”

From my peripherals, I spotted Theo, hand over mouth, leaned back and leg bouncing. “I am. I’m now heading home.”

“What do you plan on doing then?”

“Entering college, hopefully.” And surviving my new circumstances, I added silently.

“Just like Theo here. Apologies, then, that you got stuck with him,” he cocked his head towards his son. Theo said nothing but edged further into his seat.

“No worries. If not for him I would not have get out of the airport at all.”

Theo was staring – again. Perhaps if I told him my last name he would change whatever hostile impression he had on me at the moment.

The road opened to a wider stretch, with turns and buildings and signs of life popping up. I slid closer to the window for a better look. I had been in Reddard longer than all of my days spent in Delluna Capital. It was much like going to a new place than going back home.

Delluna was not as pronounced a city as Reddard was. The cars glided by, the stores coaxed, the people by the side of the road were just faces in a common crowd. Unlike Reddard, Delluna did not have possess the remarkable feature a city could boast about.

It was just a city.

But more city-like than my old hometown.

I could hear Theo mumbling a few words about the city being “the same” and there were “no changes at all”. I envied him – he must have lived in Delluna all his life and returned home constantly.

“Say, Zoe, where can we drop you off?” Cris asked.

That left my mouth open as I could not find the words. My phone was the only shot I had to finding my way to a house I had never been to before. I doubted Cris and Theo would appreciate it if I took much of their time to look for the damned house.

“Not at home,” I said in a rush, “It’s too far from the city center.” I dived deep into thinking. “You can drop me off at that mall . . . Green . . .”

“Greenvine City Square,” Theo supplied.

“Yes, if that’s alright for both of you.”

Uncertainty passed over Cris. “Are you sure? You have those bags and all – “

“I will be fine, thank you,” I said monotonously. “I have asked enough favors.”

It might have come off as brusque. Theo bent to take a look at me. He said in protest, “But I was the one who dragged you into a mess. We can take you home . . .”

He had his brows knit, bottom lip tucked under as he waited for my reply. I stood on my decision, “Thank you for the offer, but I want to stay in Greenvine first.”

Both agreed, albeit in a reluctant way. In no more than fifteen minutes the truck pulled over in front of the Greenvine tower. The words Greenvine City Square bulged against the plaque. Lime windows were ready to engulf whoever came inside.

I hopped out of the car to get my things. I had my suitcase perched on the pavement and my bag slung at the same time Theo managed to scramble out of the car.

“Thanks again,” I told him.

He stumbled over to me in a hurry, “No, again, I – I should be the one to say thanks because I – I messed up so badly and you put – put up with me.”

“You have to save your ramblings . . . This is not the last time we see each other.”

His eyes nearly popped out of his sockets. He escaped my gaze, “Oh, yeah, yeah. Of course. See – see you . . . when we see each other.”

He hopped into the car again while I thanked Cris one more time. A certain number of my family members seemingly had not taken attention of my dilemma and supposed arrival, but in the least, those two cared.

I watched while the bright red pickup steered off into the road and made a turn. Then, I grabbed my luggage handle and ventured inside the mall.
